Tesla watches as several allies dive into the water. He mutters to himself, "Swimming looks far too strenuous." Instead, he reaches into his pack to retrieve his thieves tools. As others bring up the heavy chests, Tesla, the tinkerer, attempts to open them.

"Cannonbaaaaallllll!" Chiselnits wraps his vines around himself and plunges into the sea, splashing everyone with an enormous SPLOOOSH! Once underwater, he opens up a crack along his abdomen, letting out a huge group of suspicious-looking bubbles, then powers himself to the ocean floor. Any items he finds get placed into his belly-cavity for the trip back to the surface.

Maneki, Adoril, Garrace and Chiselnits haul barrels and boxes to the surface. Meanwhile, Tesla opens the locks of each of the chests recovered. Kara doesn't have much luck finding anything that is not mostly out in the open, though.

While they are searching, Maneki sees the murky outline of a squid jet out of her vision, Adoril spots a bone with bite marks on it, and one of the chests Garrace locates had already been looted.

Kara still can't find anything out of the ordinary, but Chiselnits and Adoril bring up some more treasures. Garrace has trouble interpreting the marks of the dastardly Chelaxians, but Tesla and Maneki locate some useful items: a lesser bottled lightning, a filcher’s fork, a minor healing potion, and a potion of water breathing.

As the group is gathering up the loot to transport back to land, a large wave crashes over the wreck. As the water lowers, some small, hostile looking blue creatures with tentacles instead of legs await you.

"Aaaah!" Illnore panics as she and Chiselnits are pummeled from multiple directions, each of them showing the other's wounds in addition to their own. Despite her earlier warning to Tesla about the dangerous mixture of electricity and water, in her panic she does exactly that. She flings out her arm and tosses a wild bolt of electric energy at her assailant (red), which travels through/past it and toward the one coming up behind it (yellow).

Tesla generates a huge burst of electricity, which knocks Red off its tentacles and unconscious. He then adds a bit of protection for himself.

Purple tries to get a hold of the plant that is whipping it.

Garrace, freed from the tentacles of his assailant, tries to cut down another enemy, but misses. He brings his shield to bear.

His attacks are enough of a distraction for Kara to land two solid blows, and Blue is reeling.

Adoril helps Chiselnits escape from his own grappler, and Maneki moves in and finishes it off.

The final creature moves away and casts a spell of healing.

Although Maneki can't quite manage to hit the fleeing squid-thing, it cannot withstand the barrage of magic from Tesla.

Combat over!

There are four spears among the bodies, but the creatures clearly preferred to fight with their natural weapons.

Laela and her skiff soon float toward you. Laela shows signs of her own battle: a blue tentacle wrapped around her leg and a gash on her face. Meanwhile, the battle has caused some damage to the Infidius, and the hull of the ship begins to further sag into the waters. There’s no more time to salvage treasure from the vessel as it slips to the bottom of the bay.

After you load up the treasure they recovered, Laela leads them back to Kintargo and takes them to Clenchjaw’s tavern to review the spoils.

After taking inventory of what they recovered, Laela springs up from her seat excitedly, knocking her chair over. She orders a round of drinks and a plate of lamb and mint pastries, then tosses a handful of coins at the band on stage. She invites you to stay and celebrate their unexpectedly exceptional expedition and says there’s enough here that she might open a shop of her own.
