Just checking that you understand that Glabagool is warning you that he's holding back some of the oozes that you've been fighting. They're behind him, and can't get past while he's blocking the way. He'll move if you want him to.

Female Barbarian 6 | HP 65/65 | AC:15 | Proficiency +3 | Inspiration: 2 | Madness: Lvl 1 | Exhaustion: none | S +6 D +2 C +6 I +0 W +1 Ch +1 | Init +2 | Perc: +4 | Rage: 4/4 | Active Conditions: None | Short Rest: 4/4HD

Maybe we should ask him if there’s another way out of the temple? As much as I don’t want to fight oozes, there doesn’t appear to be another way out.

You also don't know of a way out back the way you came in. But all that water is coming from somewhere....

M LN Mountain dwarf Ranger 6 (Fey Wanderer) | HP 46/46 | AC 15 | Saves: Str +4, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +0, Wis +4, Cha +1 | Passive Perc/Insight 16 | Init +2 | DV60' | Spells 4/4, 2/2 | SwA 1/1, BS 1/1 | Insp 1/2 | Exh 0/6 | Madness 2

Well, we do have one unexplored bit on the map where we came from...

Female Barbarian 6 | HP 65/65 | AC:15 | Proficiency +3 | Inspiration: 2 | Madness: Lvl 1 | Exhaustion: none | S +6 D +2 C +6 I +0 W +1 Ch +1 | Init +2 | Perc: +4 | Rage: 4/4 | Active Conditions: None | Short Rest: 4/4HD

And I believe that’s where the oozes are that Glabagool is holding back from us. Unless I’ve misunderstood.

Take a look at the map. Glab has moved closer to you, and says the oozes are behind him.

Female Barbarian 6 | HP 65/65 | AC:15 | Proficiency +3 | Inspiration: 2 | Madness: Lvl 1 | Exhaustion: none | S +6 D +2 C +6 I +0 W +1 Ch +1 | Init +2 | Perc: +4 | Rage: 4/4 | Active Conditions: None | Short Rest: 4/4HD

So, is the plan for Alex to blast the ceiling and Maddy fly everyone out?

Or does Maddy need to also fly up and beat on the ceiling?

M LN Mountain dwarf Ranger 6 (Fey Wanderer) | HP 46/46 | AC 15 | Saves: Str +4, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +0, Wis +4, Cha +1 | Passive Perc/Insight 16 | Init +2 | DV60' | Spells 4/4, 2/2 | SwA 1/1, BS 1/1 | Insp 1/2 | Exh 0/6 | Madness 2

Or we get buried under a few metric tons of water immediately after Alex blasts us a bigger hole and, if we don't drown or get crushed/battered to death, we swim up ;^)

I am roleplaying Alexs intelligence and capacity for making smart decisions with the regard to things such as structural engineering integrity, common sense and other such things, Maddy should most likely to what she thinks is best!

Letting others guide her where to blast is about as wise Alex is gonna get :)

I second Precious!

One of the pet issues I love to complain to no end - game rules ignoring physics and common sense. Like, I do understand one needs to go with rules of cool rather than laws of Newton and such, but a high-level warrior being able to face-tank a rock lobbed by a trebuchet without blinking due to high armor or tons of HP, or a rogue improved evasioning her way out of taking damage from a fireball that completely fills a small locked room she is trapped in with it just gets under my skin ;^) Can't help it.

Female Barbarian 6 | HP 65/65 | AC:15 | Proficiency +3 | Inspiration: 2 | Madness: Lvl 1 | Exhaustion: none | S +6 D +2 C +6 I +0 W +1 Ch +1 | Init +2 | Perc: +4 | Rage: 4/4 | Active Conditions: None | Short Rest: 4/4HD

We can always suffocate down here with physics ;)

I think I could survive an action movie-style daring rescue ;-)

Family emergency is going to take priority for a while. Sorry for any interruption

Sorry to hear you have an emergency at home. Take care and also take whatever time you need.

That's one of my favourite descriptions from Alex! And I love everyone's work. I vote for inspiration for all of them on this moment.

Precious only:
Hey, I was realizing that Precious's antlers are going to be a major problem here. He's definitely going to get hung up. What would you think about a headgear readjustment. Maybe your "benefactress" doesn't want you to drown, so she changes the antlers into something smaller? Rams horns or the like? I didn't want to make an executive decision on your character without running it past you first.

I agree, inspo for everybody!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Spoiler:
Have them break off while he pushes himself through, then magically regrow? I mean, real elks and the like regrow their antlers regularly.

Precious:
Ooh, I like that a lot. I'll write them coming off, and you can have Precious's reaction, and then decide when they come back in. Will they show up full grown, or slowly grow in? Will they be all velvety?

Testing...

Nothing happens for the next 10 hours, and you're in a relatively comfy space, so everybody heals one level of exhaustion.

I'll need a survival check for heading in the right direction tomorrow.

Female Barbarian 6 | HP 65/65 | AC:15 | Proficiency +3 | Inspiration: 2 | Madness: Lvl 1 | Exhaustion: none | S +6 D +2 C +6 I +0 W +1 Ch +1 | Init +2 | Perc: +4 | Rage: 4/4 | Active Conditions: None | Short Rest: 4/4HD

So that would be considered a long rest then? Or just a short rest? I'm wondering if any abilities or HD reset as well? She'd probably use one of her HD to heal while we rest.

I think 10 hours counts as a long rest. :)

M LN Mountain dwarf Ranger 6 (Fey Wanderer) | HP 46/46 | AC 15 | Saves: Str +4, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +0, Wis +4, Cha +1 | Passive Perc/Insight 16 | Init +2 | DV60' | Spells 4/4, 2/2 | SwA 1/1, BS 1/1 | Insp 1/2 | Exh 0/6 | Madness 2

If multiple days pass I assume we can get rid of the rest of our Exhaustion stacks?

Yes, forgot to mention, you all rest enough to get rid of exhaustion.

There's always a chance to hide - make a survival roll.

Wohoo were back!

So good to be back!

The cavern corridor you're in isn't straight enough for Alex's devil sight to be an advantage. They'll come around a corner into sight about 80 feet away. Precious' survival roll is good enough to find a place for everybody but Kip to hide in. Though he could always go on the ceiling and hope not to be noticed.

You have about 30 seconds before they come into view. What's the plan?

New image on the slide deck. It's an AI creation, so a bit funky. The lead guy shouldn't be twice the size of the others.

Hue's roll isn't good enough to know anything. If anybody recognizes these guys, please don't act on it unless your character succeeds on a roll.

Which particular skill should be used to recognize them?

Arcana, religion, or history

Note, that poem is from Stanislaw Lems "The Cyberiad", I did not come up with it myself, and in an interview he admitted that he wrote that to test/troll his translators.

Its one of my favorite sci fi stories though, as a constructor tries to make a poetry bot, and shenanigians happen.

Unfortunately, the spell comprehend languages does not allow you to speak their language.

I figured, Alex does not in character know that or know what potion she drank though. Try to show a level of understanding by mathematical symbols (useing her silent image) could work, no idea what the relevant skillcheck would be though.

If Alex is trying a knowledge roll, then make a roll.

What would be the right knowledge? Planes? Arcana?

You make a roll and tell you if it gets you anything. Your choice.

If there are no questions or answers for this guy, I'll move us along this afternnon.
