Questions.
1 - What is in room 10? I forgot as a player. Warehouse?
2 - It looks like it's not high enough to jump onto the web from our place. Am I right that it's not traumatic? Since it's not far to fall and the web is soft.

Behold the "you think weekends are great time for PbP, but if you do that you probably dont have kids" effect.
Haha, indeed, I usually am able to post at least once on weekends, but apparently not on Mother's Day weekend.
Room 10 is the guard tower. Maddy got a peek into the room above it (visible in side view) and it has supplies in it.
You can jump into the web from any spot in Valkynvelve. It's a 30 feet drop, and as long as you don't land on your neck, it'll be fine. If you fall, 5% chance of injury. If you jump, you're fine. It's then 70 feet from the web to the ground/pond.

Quote:Ront, Eldeth and Maddy were if I understand correctly already free when you rolled.Ksenia is working at getting the iron belts off everybody, including those that broke the chain connecting their belt to the wall.
Right -- figured a clanking iron belt would be a downside even if not connected to a chain.
Um, and we also tried to pick the iron belts that people acrobatics'ed out of, because we had lock picks and locks to pick and it was the principle of the matter.

On the gloves: if I understood correctly what Angie H said when I examined them with a successful check, all we need to do to get them off is cut them off while carefully cutting around the runes. So I'd guess that the stolen saw would be the best bet since I think it's our only cutting implement at the moment?

Hmmm....chain as weapon. I like it.
5e doesn't have specific mechanics for it that I can find, other than the monk's spiked chain. Let's reskin a whip. We'll say you have 4 feet of chain; otherwise it would be too heavy to get away with finesse property. So no reach, but we'll up the damage to 1d6 to compensate. Also, you can use it to initiate a grapple using your chain attack instead of an athletics check.
Does that sound fair?

I think for this upcoming fight, I'd like you all to take an NPC or two to control. Let me know who you'd like, and I'll give you the necessary stats. Topsy and Turvy go together. Stool can't really fight, but has his shriek effect. Shuushar is a pacifist and won't raise a hand against anybody. After everybody has taken one, then if you want a 2nd, you can choose from who's leftover.
This is going to be big and fun and messy, so let's roll up our sleeves and bust out of this joint!
PS - Getting Alex out of the gloves, with the knife, without setting off the alarm again will take a straight up Dex roll DC 15. Fail by 5 and you cut her, 1d6 damage. If you want an NPC to do it, I'll make whoever is controlling that NPC to write it up.
Alexandra Edgaria Poeschkina
I would take Topsy and Turvy, they owe me and my plans for manipulating meatshield Ront have gone mildly haywire.
Kalanzar Mizzrym
I'm requesting Ront.
Angie H
To be clear - You the player has control of the NPC, your character does NOT have control of them. I'll give you a list of their stats and some personality traits and motivations. Some NPCs will be more pliable than others. And some have secrets that I won't be sharing.
I'm hoping that you'll write some interesting interactions between your PC and NPC, and the other PCs and NPCs (if they survive).

The heading "questions from Kalanzar".
Can spiders, in my opinion, climb up here? I mean, is it technically possible for them? Or is everything organized in such a way that even if they go crazy, they won't be able to climb to the elves?

Wow, I did not see Ksenia's attack coming, I thought she'd hide. This is fun!!
I'd been about trying to work out a convoluted thing about tossing the only throwable thing she had -- the gemstone she found -- to create a diversion, and then the alarm went up. So my out of character hesitation mapped onto her in character hesitation and we were both forced to simply fight!

Swedish is dwarfen?
There is a role play opportunity I absolutly want to be doing,
so, GM:
A) Does Alexandras patrons speak dwarfish?
B) Can Alexandras patron, exclusively when the Patron feels like it and without getting any mechanical benefits, use Alexandra possessively to show off her pretty good female power metal voice? If the Patron is singing in neither Elfish (lets say Welsh) Abyssal (using Russian so far) or Common (English) Alexandra would sing with full gusto but have no effing idea what she is signing, which could get pretty fun.

A) I guess that depends on your patron. She's a succubus, right? Not any particular named succubus? According to the stats, succubi speak infernal, common and abyssal, and have telepathy. But regular telepathy doesn't translate (Stool's spores are special). Can you give me a good reason why she would know dwarvfenish?
B) I'm happy for her to randomly sing, as long as this doesn't become a one-woman musical number. If it gets to be too much, you'll have to take a level of bard. :)
BTW, I'm making a combat spreadsheet for all my badguys and there are so freaking many!! HAHAHA.

Pending your approval (I did not have this planned out), her Patron, "Lady Yzalina" (which is not actually her name, she keeps that incredibly secret) has been one of Nocticulas ocassional "ambassadors", in particular for giant, dwarfs, devils, Gith and others who would not be very suspectible to a Succubus charms.
Given that most of these would invest in some form of antitelepathy when negotiating (for example for prisoner ransoms, or for buying information from her) with a Succubus, speaking their language is fairly useful. Music and poetry appealing to primal emotions is a fairly universal language, which she is relatively proficient in.
She actually may have a couple of levels in Bard.
OOC, mostly a pf1e player where Succubi have tounges at will :).

Init Kalanzar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Init Ront: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Upd wrong tread, sorry
Kalanzar Mizzrym
Just to clarify! We're talking about two spiders, right? One spider went off in the direction of drow barracks. And this persuasion check was on the one who remained.
Yep?
Angie H
Kalanzar spoke to 2 spiders, which were at your end of the net. One went south and one went into the quaggoth den.
I made a mistake by getting y'all to roll separately for your NPC, it's just too much. I'm changing their init to be on your init, for ease. I have enough to track as it is.
Here's the init order...
21- other NPCs
20 - Maddy and Jimjar
15 - Ales and T&T
14 - ginger dwarves
13 - bad guys and spiders
12 - Ziyad and Stool
5 - Kalanzar and Ront
Please do as much rolling for your NPCs as you can, just to make things easier for me.

[dice=Init Kalanzar]1d20 + 2
[dice=Init Ront]1d20 + 1Upd wrong tread, sorry
This is an initiative (Kalanzar 17, Ront 13). Missed the thread, did not repeat in the gameplay. I think Ront and I can be raised higher.
Kalanzar spoke to 2 spiders, which were at your end of the net. One went south and one went into the quaggoth den.
Good news!
Here's the init order...
I would prefer for the future, by the way, that the GM rolls the initiative. This speeds up the process.
Kalanzar Mizzrym
Angie H, thank you! It was my mistake when I wrote in the wrong place, not yours.
Also about spiders... I realized that I mixed up the number of spells per day that I can cast - let me remind you, I don't play 5e that much - and did one extra spell. So I suggest that my newly received inspiration be immediately taken away from me at the expense of this error. Let's assume that I cast this extra spell just for this inspiration. And from now on I will be more attentive. Sorry for this.

I am on board with operation run, the but I wish to ideally sabotage as much as possible beforehand.
Stuff Alex is planning:
--Eldritch blast rope bridges while drows are on them.
--Perhaps sabotage the lift thing? Hard to reach from where we currently are though.
--Use the threat of the illusionary succubus to slow pursuit. Alex thinks the drow will pursue runaway slaves quicker then runaway slaves whose retreated is covered by an invisible dangerous demon.
--After we are down, try to cut some specific connecting parts of the web with eldritch blasts?
Madison Kokko
We also can't leave without Ksenia but I'm not sure the group knows what's happening with her. What is the range on Stool's telepathy?
Madison Kokko
Ksenia did say she said something using the Stool collective before she attacked the drow guard but there was no mention about whether we heard her or not.
Alexandra Edgaria Poeschkina
Looking back, things we could have done:
--Alex should have used her Abyssal language proficiency, rather then her magic abilities to show usefulness.
--Establish rapport with quaggoths, but how? No common language, and basically, they are a step above us hierarchy wise but massively beneath the drow, in most such societies, the impluse to kick down is ferociously strong.
--Establish abilities of Stool.
Angie H
If you want to know if Stool can contact Ksenia, I need it IC. You ain't gettin' nothin' for free round these parts.
Well, I guess since Ksenia did send you a message, just as she was entering the cave, we'll say it came through a bit patchy, like the reception was bad. But you don't know if that's because it was out of range, or because Stool was distracted/terrified.
Alexandra Edgaria Poeschkina
Will do so IC next round, given the number of things the GM has to juggle, I kind of want to stick to 1 post per round.
I also tend to IC get closer to Szarith and maybe claim him as third NPC, which will also be 3rd round.
