In case anyone missed it in an earlier thread, koramado has created a web portal to share AoW material. I've posted some magic item illustrations with more to come. Any material shared is greatly appreciated. The address is pasted below.

Is the website bias towards one browser type or another? I have yet to get the DOWNLOAD link to work on these "sketches."

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the site. I am not aware of any problems with the downloads for IE, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, or Safari browsers. Can you tell me what OS and browser you are using, so that I can troubleshoot for you?

And Terry, the item artwork you've submitted is very nice. My compliments to you for your creativity. Thank you for sharing that with everyone.

BTW, you can just link to http://theRPGenius.com/ageofworms to get to the site.

Regards,
Koramado

I checked them out and had no problem with the download. Make sure you've registered and logged in.

Just wanted you to know:
You shouldn't need to register if you want to download files. Registration is only required for uploading files to the archive. If it doesn't seem to be working that way for you, please let me know. It was not my intention to restrict access to any of the downloads that people are submitting. It is a public archive for gamers and by gamers. :)

Thanks,
Koramado

When trying to view the artwork my browser (konqueror 3.4.1) shows the jpgs as plain text. I have to save it to disk first. That's kind of annoying...

But keep up that good work!

I agree with you. I am looking for a better download module to use instead. Thanks for your interest!

Out of curiousity, has anyone contacted Paizo for permission to avoid any IP/copyright issues? After all, even in an OGL product, the maps and such aren't considered open content, and since Dungeon isn't published under the OGL technically none of the content is considered "open".

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, and I'd love to contribute, but I don't want to put a lot of time into it if it is going to be immediately taken down because copyright issues with Paizo.

I'll change the title of the first sketch to Zoss-e-els diadem. But, really, for some content that could appear this is a good question. It's not Paizo I would be worried about, it's her mother...but I'm just uploading with no official connection to the website. koramado or Paizo care to comment?

I have written to Paizo (specifically Lisa Stevens, CEO) to let them know about the site and also state that any requests to remove files submitted will be honored. In fact, Lisa Stevens and Robert Head (Duke of Web Technologies) are both registered on the Shackled City portal. Though I haven't heard from Paizo regarding their opinion of the files being submitted, I assume that they will speak up when they feel it is neccessary.

I do agree that people should be careful about what gets uploaded. In regard to the maps that have been submitted, there are many groups that play online or with a transparency projector that would need to prepare similar files. I believe that Paizo is knowledgeable regarding these uses and is likely to allow the submission of maps so long as individuals don't take wrongful advantage of the submissions. Without the magazines or the hardcover book to run the adventure path, the maps aren't much use.

I hope I am right in considering these things. From the beginning, those discussing the creation of the site were clear about avoiding conflict with Paizo. The sole purpose of the site is to provide additional materials to DMs that will enhance the gaming experience. I believe that the end result will be happier DMs and players with fond memories of a great Paizo published resource, and a publisher happy to have a fan base growing more loyal to future publications as a result.

I think it's a definite win-win!

I noticed that there is no content listed on the site now. Has something come up?

Chriton227 wrote:

Yeah, a few days ago, everything was listed when I opened it. Now, there is a short message and I can't find the content on any of the links.

Chriton227 wrote:

The site is fixed and the downloads are available again. I apologize for the interruption, but somehow a part of my database got hacked or corrupted. It has been repaired and everything is back to normal. I hope you will visit again and take another look.

Just curious, what are the items that are listed as being available at Tidwoad's? I thought he was just a snarky jeweler.

Oh he's got stuff, if you're a DM consult the backdrop article in Dungeon #124. If you're a player...get out of here, does your DM know what you're doing? What I mean to say is go back to Tidwoad's and flash some platinum around the place to see his special stock.

In case anyone is using Campaign Cartographer 2, I've converted the Whispering Cairn maps to CC2 format and uploaded them to the Area Maps section of the site, along with a zip file containing bitmap tiles you'll need to see the "artistic" fills I've used for cave walls, floors, etc. The bitmaps are a larger file (10mb), so if you don't want to use them, just change the fill style for the affected entities to "solid."

I'll be happy to listen to feedback on the maps. Right now, I'm working on the Old Mining Office from Dragon, since I intend to provide that as a home base for the players. (I'll probably do the Old Observatory next...I'm running AoW in the Forgotten Realms and have maps of Daggerford's establishments available, already.)

I just finished a document including all the statblock for the Whispering Cairn in the new format. Unfortunately, it seems the site is down. Any idea where I could put the file ?

The site is fine. I am logged in to it right now. Are you using a current link? Give it another try.

Let me know if you are still having trouble finding the site. I'm trying really hard to make sure that there are no problems for anyone.

Thanks,

I continue to get the following error using internet explorer. If I use netscape, nothing happens at all.

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. I got the same error yesterday, but it's ok this morning. I just uploaded the statblock file :)

Thanks for the info, Guth and Torgan. I'm confused, but working on a solution to this.

Has anyone got a scanned copy of the Diamond Lake map? I'm starting up a PBEM, and having a copy of the map for my players would be a nice touch -- and it'll be a while before I can shell out the $15 or so that Kinko's wants to scan it for me.

I thought I had heard of someone posting one, but I don't recall the thread. I haven't seen one myself yet and there isn't one on the AoW Resource Page yet, either.

When I can find time, I plan on scouring the messageboard for additional resources and asking those who made such posts to submit their creation to the resource page. This will help make resources easier to find and keep them available after threads here are archived.

You are welcome to encourage others to submit their resources as well.

I returned today and downloaded the artwork and looked through the website resources without a glitch. Good work! And thanks!

Is there any possibility of getting artwork for the mysterious "Talisman of the Sphere?"

In the artwork download, the two items (Adventure's Wand and Ancient Spearhead) are located at 16. The Captain's Blade. Not at 5. Tidwoad's.

Those art pieces are very nice. The PCs will be getting some handouts.

Peace and smiles :)

They are nice, aren't they! Thanks to Terry for sharing his talent. It is so fun to be able to use such great additions to the campaign.

Thanks for the correction, too. The descriptions have been changed accordingly.

I have the Diamond Lake maps scanned in and cleaned up to eliminate the fold seams. I also made a PC copy with the numbers and legend removed. The native file is an EPS and is a little over 25MB. I also have a PDF that is formatted to print letter size (8.5" x 11") that is about 7MB. I'll try downsampling a little more to get a more reasonable file size. I'll be uploading the PDF versions to the RPG genius AoW site today when I get a second. The only minor issue is that when printed on letter-sized paper the legend is a bit tiny and hard to read.

There is plenty of room on the server if you are willing and have the time to upload multiple versions, dnor72. I know not everyone will want a 25mb file, but others would I'm sure. Is your EPS file vector or bitmap? You could probably get a better file size in an uncompressed JPEG. Thanks for sharing.

Koramado

I can make it any file format really. I just turned it into a PDF for ease of use. You can double-click it and it just opens up in a letter-sized document ready to print. It's not vector art. I don't have paizo's source files so I just scanned in the poster, cleaned it up, and used EPS because it distills nice and easy like. I got the PDF down to under 3MB and it prints alright. As I make the file-size smaller the text gets harder to read. If people want the full size poster in a big JPEG I can do that. I figured for the cost of printing something that big you could probably just buy the issue with the poster in it. Anyone?

Go ahead and upload the large JPEG. I'm using a projector to display maps on the tabletop at scale and it would nice to have a good, hi res file to display for the party. Granted, the Diamond Lake map won't be at scale, but bigger is better.

Thanks,
Koramado

Thanks for the 8"x11" version. I'd appreciate the bigger one as well as I can use the plotter at work to make a big version. I suspect it'll be needed for the dragon attack later in the arc.

Larger JPEG on the way. It's 300dpi at 17" x 22". You should be able to print it at twice that size without losing any clarity. Are you looking to print it large enough for miniature use? I would have to rescan it to get it that large.

Yes, I was hoping to have it for miniature use. I'll play with some of our image software here (at work during lunch) and if I get the map looking good, I'll upload a version. Thanks for your efforts, dnor72!

Scarab Sages

It would definatley be cool to have a map for miniature use for the Black Dragon attack. Even if it is just one of the Vein. Let us know if y'all come up with something, if not maybe Paizo will supply one.

Sorry for the mix up between illustrations and their location, that's what happens when one refernces from memory. Anyway I've added the wand of unseen servant from the whispering cairn and am moving on to others. Sorry they've been coming so slow but my group rarely gets to play so the sketches only gain priority as game time looms near.

They are worth the wait, T-Bone, really. You have got real talent there and the Wand of Unseen Servant is the best yet!

Regards,
Koramado

Really great site. The watercolors are particularly cool. Kudos to all who contributed.

I noticed the stat blocks for Gar Blitzame, DaeJin Moon, and Tassilo Viniese are all FULL of errata. To name a few, Daejin lists no favored enemy, none of them have enough skill points assigned, several attack and damage bonuses are calculated incorrectly, and Tassilo is equiped with a weapon he is not proficient with (not that this is necessarily a problem, but his stats presume he is proficient).

I've uploaded an errata fix for each NPC to the database. It should help those who plan to use these characters in their campaigns, as cohorts or otherwise.

GUTH wrote:

I just uploaded it so the talisman should be available as soon as Koramado aproves it.

Ditto, T-bone. I'll be using every one of your sketches. Really appreciate it.

I've got a few more illustrations posted for those awaiting magic items. My apologies to anyone awaiting the wand of shatter or the goggles of minute seeing but in my campaign those two did not survive the trap and have been replaced by other items that I've included in Zosiel's tomb.

Thanks for the praise I hope they add a new dimension to magic item identification in your game.

You indeed add a new dimension to my player´s appreciation of their magic items! They (an me) love Your Handout´s, thanks a ton T-Bone!

I don't have Dungeon #124. What are the items offered by Tidwoad?? The Roque PC has been trying to get in good w/ him and it'd be useful to know what Tidwoad has to offer "under the table".

Anyone still reading this? I would like an answer.

While I can well understand the motivation for your question, it's not fair to ask other posters on Paizo's own message boards about the specific details contained in products that have been released and are available for purchase on this website.

I don't need verbaitum what he has to offer, just a general idea of what he has and maybe an example or two.

Sorry for not getting back to you fury but the answer to your query was already answered in one of the above posts. I did not reference the magazine and the items I was referring to were at the Captain's Blade not Tidwoad's.

I have submitted some new watercolor pieces that should be available soon: a free standing aboveground temple of Bane (hextor) for those looking to break up the dungeon crawl in 3FoE. Kullen, the albino half orc's +1 greataxe-and it looks like my players are going to take him and his crew on as well as Smenk. The last two items in this update are some sandals and a hajj belt to go along with Zosiel's diadem. The sandals grant +10 to movement and the belt functions as a handy haversack. They will both be restored to full functionality in A Gathering of Winds.

I downloaded the pictures of the items my group gained with no
problem. What I also need is a tile of a Kyuss creature.
Fiery Dragon's counter collection doesn't have any.
Do you know where I can find an inch by inch picture of a
Kyuss's creature's worm filled face.
If one does not exist yet I will take an image of one
from the download PDFs and create the counter.
Can I then upload it to the site with the resoarces?
Thank you.
