Please dot (add a post) in here and then delete your post to add yourself to this campaign.
1) I am based in Southeast Asia (UTC +8) so my posting hours may be unusual (especially for those in North America). I usually update at least one or twice per day. Just to keep the game moving, please post at least once every day and at least once during the weekend. If you disappear for more than 24 hours, especially during combat, I will simply place your character on infinite delay just to keep things moving.
2) Please label all three of your actions. Even if you think what you are doing is obvious.
3) If I am unavailable for longer than 24 hours, I will let you know in the Discussion Tab. Out of respect for your fellow players and myself, I ask that you do the same. Real life happens, and real life will always take priority over the game, but out of fairness for your fellow players, please let us know if you will be unavailable for an extended period of time.
4) Please complete the Macros and the Slides linked at the top of the page.
5) Questions, concerns? Feel free to share them in the Discussion tab.
6) Let's have some fun and tell a great story together! After all, that's what we are here for.
Atae |
The elven priestess enters into the room. Her hair is red as fire and her eyes are green as the spring grass. She is dressed in leather which is black and yellow in the stylized fashion of a wasp. On one hip she carries an elven curved blade, the other a rolled up scorpion whip. Around her neck is the symbol of Calistria and on her shoulders a white cloak, a gift from a former paramour.
GM Tiger |
You gather in Iceferry, where you meet with Venture- Captain Bjersig Torrsen. Venture-Captain Torrsen is deaf, and his service dog Mahki alerts him to the presence of visitors or sounds of danger. You are greeted by a gnome named Lirall, who prominently wears a wayfinder. After letting the you into the Lodge, she selects one cord labeled “Office” from a bundle of colored cords near the door. The loud howl from a dog echoes throughout the building, followed by a trio of scampering, blue-skinned goblins dashing down the hall. A large husky bursts into the hallway, snarling at the goblins until a tall half-orc emerges a moment later and lays a calming hand on her back. He gestures for you to follow him into a meeting room, seemingly ignoring the goblins.
Please introduce yourselves here.
Aleister Nocthum VII, please complete the slides and the macros.
Fergus Mac Asgaill |
Pinning his cloak back to leave his sword hand unobstructed, the tall man takes off his hat and flourishes it while bowing to nobody in particular.
"Pleased ta make yer acquaintances. I am Fergus MacAsgaill, warrior of House Orlovsky and soon ta take my vows at the Academy.
Whatever the nature of the assignment, I will make sure that each of us is free ta pursue the goals of the Society free from the ravages of hostile forces who unwisely get in our way"
Standing in a relaxed pose, Fergus waits, with one hand resting lightly on the pommel of his short sword as he waits for the other to introduce themselves.
Jyllian Kero |
A human woman brushes a hand tattooed with a trail of blood drops through her short cropped brown hair as she grins at Fergus. A silver holy symbol of a rose growing out of the ground rests against her chest.
"I'm Jyllian. Jyllian Kero. Champion of Milani and a relative newcomer to the Pathfinder Society. Pleased to meet you all."
Adjusting the bastard sword across her back, she takes a seat and favors everyone with a smile as she does. She looks prepared for almost anything, unless it involves a library.
Avery Wings |
A tall and slender female elf in her thick winter coat and leather armor joins the party. She is wearing her adventurer's backpack and a quiver of arrows tucked between her and the bag. Her dagger is strapped on her right leg while she is holding a shortbow with her left hand.
Her pony-tailed long straight hair moves as she walks. A flying young owl follows at her back and lands on her left shoulder with a small dead rat in its beak. The bird gulps the dead vermin whole.
"I am Avery Wings and this is my beautiful friend, Sophia," the elf introduces herself, while her young bird scratches its head with hers. Avery pats the owl's head and the bird flies away to look for her food.
“She's always hungry lately," she explains.
Atae |
The cleric looks at her kinswoman and gives her a greeting in elven.
Avery Wings |
Avery is so happy to meet a fellow elf and exchanges pleasantries with her.

Ulfens must buy their way into Valenhall, and they always make the journey with a large stash of gold or gems.
Linnorm King Ulvass sailed to Arcadia in –473 ar and established Valenhall. Brave Ulfens dream of making the perilous journey there at the end of their lives. King Sveinn Blood-Eagle recently did exactly this.
Valenhall is well-defended by walls as well as powerful creatures: einheriers, valkyries, and a trio of norns. The partly supernatural settlement takes no interest in current affairs of the world. Linnorm King Ulvass sailed to Arcadia in –473 ar and established Valenhall. Brave Ulfens dream of making the perilous journey there at the end of their lives. King Sveinn Blood-Eagle recently did exactly this.
The Steaming Sea is named for the thick mist that hangs over the waters. Frequent volcanic activity from the Hellrung Mountains leads to the sudden formation of new islands and ridges.
Atae |
she will inform the group what she knows about this situation. Linnorm King Ulvass sailed to Arcadia in –473 ar and established Valenhall. Brave Ulfens dream of making the perilous journey there at the end of their lives. King Sveinn Blood-Eagle recently did exactly this.
Jyllian Kero |
Jyllian cocks her head slightly and frowns. "What does bravery have to do with it? Money is all they need."
Atae |
Money is not always why people do things. I am surprised that a follower of Milani would think that it is the elf replies to the champion.
Jyllian Kero |
Her frown deepens as Jyllian focuses on the elf. "Money is not my concern. I'd simply heard that the Ulfen people buy their way into Valenhall."
Avery Wings |
""Hush now, both of you. Let's focus on the mission at hand." Avery tells calmly to the cleric and champion. "We must be all in this together," she adds with a wink.
She then turns towards the gnome, flipping her hair as she moves."What do you have for us, Lirall?" she asks.
GM Tiger |
The captain of the Wandering Hearth is Eynilla Vriggdahl, a middle-aged Ulfen woman. She gruffly ensures you are prepared and well-supplied for the journey; after all, as she warns them, this route is far from a safe one, and travelers should always remain wary. Her worries are not unfounded. As the ship journeys through the Steaming Sea, a storm strikes. The crew desperately keep the ship upright, but the torrential rain and heavy waves batter everything on board. If you help, they can reduce the damage to the ship and their supplies.
You can help with the following skills:
Sailing Lore to help steer the ship
Athletics to secure crates or climb the rigging
Acrobatics to secure ropes at the sides of the ship without falling overboard
Jyllian Kero |
Jyllian staggers out into the storm, where she is immediately plastered with rain and spray from the ocean. She grabs some rope and flings it around a few of the loose crates, trying to secure them in place.
Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
GM Tiger |
OMG. I thought I already gave the mission brief. Complete the skill checks and I'll retcon it. It appears that Aleister won't be joining us but the table is still legal so we can move on. Sorry about that. You all begin with one hero point. If you have glyphs, you may distribute them now.
Avery Wings |
Avery attempts to secure the ropes while balancing herself as the torrential rain and heavy waves batters their ship.
She shouts to the captain, assuming that she hears her with all the crashes and splashes, ”Is it always like this at the sea? It's crazy as hell!”
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Hero Point: Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Jyllian Kero |
I have a glyph. No preference on where it goes. Anyone particularly new? If not, Fergus (1), Avery (2), Jyllian (3). who?: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Fergus Mac Asgaill |
Fergus curses the storm and fate for putting him on a boat. "Damn Issians and their ships always be finding a way to make life more difficult for highlanders."
Nevertheless, he rushes to the rigging, following the examples of other sailors, seeking to lower the sails and protect the ship.
Athletics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
What is a glyph?
Jyllian Kero |
A bonus for GMs. Once you have GM'd a certain number of games, you get a glyph, which translates to an additional hero point to start the game. 10 games = 1 glyph, 30 games = 2 glyphs, etc.
Atae |
Acrobatics check to secure a rope
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Demonstrating the almost preternatural grace of the elven people, Atae uses that agility and grace to attempt to secure a rope to the ship.
GM Tiger |
After the storm ends, the Wandering Hearth reaches its destination. The Shoreseeker lies half submerged in the sea, propped up by several more wrecked ships. The Ulfen longship is substantially damaged on the side. Captain Vriggdahl sails the ship to the opposite, more intact side, and sailors lay several boards to allow access to the ship.
You recover 2 lesser antidotes that you can use due to your heroic efforts during the storm.

Retcon
Venture-Captain Bjersig Torrsen begins explaining the situation, his dog Mahki sitting attentively nearby. As he speaks aloud, the half-orc punctuates his words with phrases in a sign language.
"Apologies for the ruckus. The Frostfurs are talented scouts, but they have an adversarial relationship with Mahki. She doesn’t particularly like them either. “To the reason I called you here! The Grenskuldr family traces their lineage back to the storied warrior Grehunde the Sun Chaser, a Linnorm King who ruled over the city of Jol and whose victories in battle were legendary. The family still has a lot of influence. I’ve asked them to help out the Society, and they’ve asked for a favor in exchange. That’s where you come in. Are you familiar with Valenhall?"
"Grehunde the Sunchaser never got to sail off to Valenhall— she died in what she planned to be her last battle. Her gorget was passed down to her descendants, most recently Hlavard Grenskuldr, also a Linnorm King. Hlavard was an impressive warrior in his youth, but a month ago he sailed off toward Valenhall to set up a shrine to Grehunde there and finish her journey. He planned to ensure the gorget found its final home in a place of honor. Unfortunately, something happened to his ship, the Shoreseeker, along the way. Merchants report that the ship is still partially above water, but they didn’t get close enough to find out what happened. While his children respected Hlavard’s decision, they would rather not have their father’s body and the priceless family heirloom at the bottom of the sea. I’d like you to find the ship and retrieve Hlavard and the gorget. I’ve arranged a ship for you, the Wandering Hearth, to follow the Shoreseeker’s path through the Steaming Sea."
End Retcon
This was the mission brief I thought I already posted.

You notice a patch of mold on the deck of the Shoreseeker right where you would access the ship. DC 13 Survival to remove or neutralize the mold without disturbing it. You may roll as many times as you wish, just don't crit fail. :)
Fergus Mac Asgaill |
Back at the briefing
"Completing an Honor Quest, is a worthy goal, though methinks that honor would require a family member to at least participate in the quest. Be that as it may, retrieve a gorget from a sunk ship and take it to an island. Seems easy, though boats do make me nervous.
How will we know this gorget when we find it? Does it have any distinctive markings? Where was it on the ship?"
----------
On the longship
"Be wary, friends. There is mold on that deck, and sometimes molds can be posionous. Do any of you have experience in the removal or identification of these molds?"
Looking for someone with Survival training
Jyllian Kero |
On the ship
"That's not my specialty. Whoever does should probably take one of the antidotes before trying anything."
---------
Briefing
"Is there anything we should be especially wary of? Any creatures that might be there or dangerous environments? Well, aside from the water itself."
Avery Wings |
Avery just crosses her arms, looks at the molds and unto the others, waiting for somebody that can better deal with the molds.
”Any takers? Hehe. If none, well...” she worried if she has no choice to be the one that will do it.
Atae |
Thinking that she might know something about getting rid of this mold she puts on gloves and attempts to scrape it off with a stick.,
survival check 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
GM Tiger |
Atae puts on gloves and scrapes the mold off the deck with a stick. She hurls the moldy stick overboard.
The map is now linked above. You may move onto the Shoreseeker and explore the wreck. Let me know when you decide to explore the lower deck.
Jyllian Kero |
Jyllian makes sure her boots are tied tightly and everything is where it's supposed to be before stepping out onto the gangplank. Since it doesn't immediately drop her into the ocean, she crosses quickly then climbs up onto the rear upper deck thing to get a better look at the ship as a whole.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Fergus Mac Asgaill |
Fergus nimbly walks across the plank to the wreck. "Well done, Atae. Hopefully, that is the extent of the danger on this ship."
Seeing Jyllian moving Aft, Fergus heads to the Fore, scoping out the remainder of the wreck, while keeping an eye on the water for other threats.
Perception +5. If nothing turns up, he will draw his shortsword before going below.
Avery Wings |
Avery follows them while Sophia The Owl flies around for the first time since their travel with the Wandering Hearth ship. Avery looks around and readies her shortbow with an arrow loaded after seeing Atae unfurls her whip and Fergus seems to about to draw his shortsword.
