Pinging for interest when I get some time to make a character tomorrow.

Been on a gunslinger kick as of late, and want to mix that into a mage build outside of the classic eldritch archer; also considering a shadow mystery Oracle build which is terrifyingly versatile at high levels.

Spellslinger and Gunslinger together might be a lot of fun.

edit- alternatively, I may alternatively go Kineticist/Winter Witch and be one of the Jadwiga; leaving Irrisen to help close the Worldwound at the behest of the family, Baba Yaga, or simple pragmatism.

Will try and get something out there. Not real sure. You got a certain deadline in mind?

Had to make some serious alterations to Hero Lab and such to actually start eyeing the builds and such. Juggling different build prospects right now at different levels to see what I may like the best.

I will have at least one side an arcane caster; the initial sketch has
Wizard (spellslinger)1/Witch (winter witch archetype) X/Winter Witch (presitge)
Gunslinger 5/Kineticist 15 (Dark Elementalist)

I might dabble around in Arcanist, Oracle, and other variants of these ideas. I might also put the white haired witch to work for once; magus/witch can be a terrifying pairing in that regard.

My concept is a lesser Jadwiga noble (distantly related to Queen Morgannan, 2nd Queen of Irrisen) who ventures to the Worldwound to help close it. Demons will eventually get out and spread to her homeland.

Witch is one of the younger Jadwiga who have an active interest in the outside world beyond the borders of Irrisen, and as such annoys the elders with her curiousity. While is she generally not actively malicious, she does see others as "needing to know their place" in regards to their conduct.

If gunslinger, one of the few travelers to Irrisen happened to be a runaway gunsmith from Alkenstar. The elder Jadwiga captured him, and as a "prank" on their lesser relative, arranged a marriage between the two. Her firearm is his wedding present to his new bride; intending it to be an art piece, but he still wanted it fully functional.

I'll post more tomorrow, hopefully finished and decided.

Hello, I would like to offer up Aakiff. An Arcanist/Investigator. The stats are in the profile.

Why I am here:

Aakiff was educated by the church of Sarenrae and has aided the church since he completed his schooling with his investigative skills and his knowledge of many topics. A cleric in his church had a divination that something bad was happening to the distant wardstone and the church had to help. Unfortunately, the church had issues deciding what they could do so far away and political bickering took over. After a short time it was decided that something had to be done and Aakiff was chosen to go and investigate it. The church had more powerful followers, but using them would have given too much prestige to one faction or another and so Aakiff was chosen as a candidate who was not strongly linked to anyone and was new to actually working for the church.

For his part Aakiff’s mother was starting to hound him to settle down and he wished to see the world. The divination spoke of trouble, but he had no real idea of what was happening as he set off to see the world before he had to settle down.

Background Questions:

1. What is your character’s name? Aakiff

2. How old is your character? 24

3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)? Aakiff is a thin but nimble Kelishite man. He has a thin and neatly kept beard. He is of average height and weight. He has the general skin tone and dark hair of a Kelishite. His angelic ancestry is quite a way back, but his eyes gleam like crystals that is quite disconcerting.

4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)? Aakiff is a man who puts great faith in fact and knowledge. He is fastidious and keeps himself very clean and presentable.

5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who? Aakiff was born in a small Kelish village. Aakiff’s father, who had the angelic blood that was passed onto Aakiff, was a cleric of Sarenrae for a small town. His father had no real ability to call upon the power of Sarenrae, but he was respected in his village and taught Aakiff a deep love and respect for the ancient goddess. Due to the respect that Aakiff’s father earned, Aakiff was sent to a large city to gain an education at a school led by the church of Sarenrae. He became known as a brilliant young student with a great understanding of arcane power. When he graduated he sought out work with the church of Sarenrae aiding in investigations that the clerics did not have the time or skills to pursue.

6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living? Bahram and Ikara are both living. Bahram runs a small church to Sarenrae and Ikara aids in his work. They are both alive and doing well.

7. Do you have any other family or friends? He has two aunts on his mother’s side and a younger sister named Sahba who is close to marrying a young magistrate in their village named Khair.

8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids? Aakiff has yet to marry. His mom has sent letters suggesting that she is investigating an arranged marriage with potential candidates in their village or in a few nearby villages.

9. What is your character’s alignment? Neutral Good

10. What is your character’s moral code? Aakiff believes in the greatest good. He does not seek to harm people if possible, and wishes to stop those who would harm others. He understands that sometimes this means people will get hurt, but he will try and not kill sentient humanoids if possible and greatly prefers arresting and putting criminals up to the courts to decide their fate.

11. Does your character have goals? Aakiff has been putting off marriage. He wishes to see more of the world before having to settle down.

12. Is your character religious? Yes.

13. What are your character’s personal beliefs? He is a devote follower of Sarenrae.

14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)? He is deeply convinced of his own intelligence, but charismatic enough that he does not often rub it into peoples faces.

15. Why does your character adventure? He is seeking to aid the church that educated him and benefit the people who need aid.

16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer? He views himself as a knowledgeable person who has been sent into find out what has happened to the Wardstones and how to potentially fix the dangerous issues.

17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)? He has a thin beard that he is very proud of.

18. How does your character get along with others? Yes, he cares about how others are doing and is generally likable.

19. Is there anything that your character hates? He hates those who claim to sell religious cures or trinkets to ward people who wish to lean upon the gods and buy useless or even dangerous items that they think will save them.

20. Is there anything that your character fears? Aakiff has spent many years being told how brilliant he is. But part of him fears there will come a trial or test where his natural intelligence will fail him and others will pay for his error.

I would like to put forward a character that I previously submitted for team 2 of this campaign, a Half-Elf Paladin/Phoenix Sorcerer. Information (including answers to the background questions) are in the profile.

Still working on my slayer/arcanist. I should have everything done by tomorrow.

This is Knight of Yesterday’s submission. Aradala, a half elf, is a whip wielding slayer/arcanist(blade adept). She should cover knowledge and roguish stuff out of combat and be helpful in combat. I decided to go with a whip build because the elephant in the room feats and ranger fighting style will help it come online faster.

Good luck!

SPECIAL ABILITIES/CLASS FEATURES
==============================================
Arcane Reservoir (Su): gain an arcane reservoir that can hold up to 3 + the arcanist’s level. Each day, regain 3 + 1/2 arcanist level. Any points she had from the previous day are lost. She can also regain these points through the consume spells class feature and some arcanist exploits. The arcane reservoir can never hold more points than the maximum amount noted above; points gained in excess of this total are lost.

Points from the arcanist reservoir are used to fuel many of the arcanist’s powers. In addition, the arcanist can expend 1 point from her arcane reservoir as a free action whenever she casts an arcanist spell. If she does, she can choose to increase the caster level by 1 or increase the spell’s DC by 1. She can expend no more than 1 point from her reservoir on a given spell in this way.
Consume Spells (Su) an arcanist can expend an available arcanist spell slot as a move action, making it unavailable for the rest of the day, just as if she had used it to cast a spell. She can use this ability a number of times per day equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 1). Doing this adds a number of points to her arcane reservoir equal to the level of the spell slot consumed. She cannot consume cantrips (0 level spells) in this way. Points gained in excess of the reservoir’s maximum are lost.
Exposed to Awfulness Once per day when you fail a saving throw against an effect created by a demon that would kill or physically incapacitate you, you can immediately reroll that saving throw as a free action.
Favored Class Bonus +1 arcane reservoir point.
Sword Bond (Su) develop a bond with a blade and infuse it with arcane power. This ability works like a wizard’s arcane bond ability save that the blade adept must bond to a one-handed piercing or slashing melee weapon. Additionally, the blade adept gains proficiency with the weapon if it is a simple or martial weapon. This ability replaces the arcanist exploits gained at 1st and 9th levels.
Studied Target (Ex) A slayer can study an opponent he can see as a move action (or swift action at 7th level). The slayer then gains a +1 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against that opponent, and a +1 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against it. The DCs of slayer class abilities against that opponent increase by 1. A slayer can only maintain these bonuses against one opponent at a time; these bonuses remain in effect until either the opponent is dead or the slayer studies a new target.

If a slayer deals sneak attack damage to a target, he can study that target as an immediate action, allowing him to apply his studied target bonuses against that target (including to the normal weapon damage roll).

At 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th levels, the bonuses on weapon attack, damage rolls, and skill checks and to slayer DCs against a studied target increase by 1. In addition, at each such interval, the slayer is able to maintain these bonuses against an additional studied target at the same time. The slayer may discard this connection to a studied target as a free action, allowing him to study another target in its place.
Track (Ex) A slayer adds 1/2 his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.
Treerazer’s Bane You gain a +2 trait bonus on weapon damage against demons, evil fey, and plants and animals corrupted by evil.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency all simple and martial weapons, and the whip as well as with light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).
Weapon Focus +1 to hit with whips

Aradala’s Arrival:

Aradala awoke to the distant sounds of hammers clanging against metal echoing in the pitch darkness of the caverns below Kenabres. The half elf was flat on her back covered in dust and debris, the sounds faded but the darkness remained.
While she continued to lay there, her thoughts wander to the past and her childhood in Imvrildara. But paramount in her thoughts was the dreams that led her from Kyonin to Kenabres. As she pondered these things the reality of her situation settles in, The demon Khorramzadeh slew Terendelev….
She utters a plea ”Savored Sting help us. while casts a spell lighting up her surroundings. Aradala gets up and brushes herself off before making her through the darkened caverns.

GM’s Questions:

2. How old is your character? 23 years old

3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)? Aradala is tall and lanky, standing well over six feet, with a lithe but well-muscled build, like a dancer. The willowy half elf has a hauntingly beautiful face that always looks like she’s about to laugh or scowl. Her features are proportionate and pleasing, she possesses a straight nose and a full mouth, her large eyes are framed by long, full lashes set off a gaze that is both knowing and penetrating. Aradala’s eyes are as black as the pits of hell. While, her alabaster skin is as flawless and milky as fresh cream and stands in stark contrast to the dark locks of hair that appear to absorb the light around it. Her raven colored hair is worn short and stylish. The slender long-limbed elf is most often dressed in trousers and linen shirts in various shades of cream and purple with a sword strapped to her back and whip at her side worn on a thick black belt with various pouches attached.
4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)? She is aloof and tends to watch people like a bird of prey.

5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who? Aradala was raised buy her mother, Dardlara, an elf, in the ancient Calistrian temple of Imvrildara, located in the southern Fierani Forest of Kyonin. 6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living Aradala’s mother Dardlara, is a Calistrian prostitute. She is alive and a fervent members of the Imvrildarai. Aradala does not know who her father is but like a good Calistrian she hopes it was one of her mother’s favorite clients.
7. Do you have any other family or friends? She has a half brother, Dalandel, and some cousins in Kyonin. Since she did not join the Imvrildarai the are very cool towards her.
8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids? Single. She is an adventurous free spirit that over analyzes people and relationships.
9. What is your character’s alignment? Aradala is chaotic good

12. Is your character religious? Like her mother Aradala is a worshipper of the Savored Sting.

13. What are your character’s personal beliefs? Trust in yourself and be guided by your conscience to do what is right.

14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)? Like some with elven heritage Aradala can be aloof as well as arrogant and can be condescending to non-elves. She is also extremely curious which can lead her into trouble.

15. Why does your character adventure? Aradala doesn’t view herself as an adventurer. She believes she was called to the World Wound by her dreams.

16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer? After surviving an attack by demons in the Fierani Forest Aradala had a dream leading her to the world wound. She views it more as a calling than a job.

17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)? Aradala has silvery scars that run the length of her right arm from an encounter with demons in the Fierani Forest of Kyonin.
18. How does your character get along with others? She works well with others, understanding the value of teamwork. However, she would rather do the bossing around than be bossed.
19. Is there anything that your character hates? Necromancy, demons, slavery, and defilers of nature.

20. Is there anything that your character fears? She fears being taken as a slave and losing her freedom.

Hey folks, I'm the aforementioned fighter/bloodrager! As the GM mentioned, arcane skill would definitely be handy, as well as some rogue-style skills potentially.

Sounds some shadowy ninja type, I'm in.ill make a character up soon

Alrighty then, finally finished Aliyeeva Morgannan, one of the White Witches of Irrisen.

Background Questions:

1. What is your character’s name? Aliyeeva Morgannan
2. How old is your character? 19
3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?

The fairly tall (5'9), but average built human woman with flowing white hair and icy steel eyes. Her cloak, boots, and tunic are lined with furs, and indicative of a far colder climate. Only visible weapon is a small dagger at her hip and a backpack slung over her shoulder.
4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)?

Aliyeeva has an accent built on being raised in a culturally distant land; her long hair moves about, even when the breeze shouldn't be strong enough to push it. Aliyeeva's expression amidst Kenabres is one filled with curiousity and disdain.

5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who?

Born to one of the oldest families of the Jadwiga, the Morgannans, Aliyeeva has lived a luxurious life amongst the Winter Witches of Irrisen. She was born in Whitethrone, and spent her adolescence under the tutelage of many mentors teaching Aliyeeva to control magic.
6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living? Aliyeevas parents are Rohkar and Lilim Morgannan; they are both alive. Rohkar is captain of a small platoon operating on the Verge whereas Lilim is a relatively minor Winter Witch official who serves the Duchess of Whitethrone.

7. Do you have any other family or friends?

Aliyeeva studied alongside other children of the Jadwiga, but had no significant friends beyond that of Tundra, the arctic hare that would become her familiar. Family is more about representing their family to the other Winter Witches and are not exactly supportive.

Beyond her study mates and family, Aliyeeva has a small group of friends consisting of merchants, scholars, and such from distant lands as well as a few other of the Jadwiga youths. Her groups fascination with the outside world (specifically Cheliax) led some of companions to call themselves the "White Devils" mixing Chelish and Irriseni culture. They would seek out merchants and scholars visiting and purchase Chelish books, clothing, etc. This practice of leaving Irriseni culture labeled Aliyeevas group as "stilyagi"- culture crows and were frowned upon by the Jadwiga.

8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids?

Aliyeeva is unwed; many of the Jadwiga children have arranged marriages but in part because of her association with the stilyagi and the White Devils. The Jadwiga Morgannan do not think particularly highly of Aliyeeva due in large part due to the shame that being associated with the stilyagi brings.

9. What is your character’s alignment?

Aliyeeva is Lawful Evil.

10. What is your character’s moral code?

Aliyeeva believes strongly in the concept of power begets status, and the strong should rule over the weak. The weak exist to serve the strong, and the strong have the obligation to protect the weak such that they may serve. Aliyeeva grew up with the cruelty of the Winter Witches a prevalent aspect of her life; however, she has no particular delight in hurting other people for her own amusement. If the weak serve well, they will be acknowledged and rewarded. If the weak fail to serve her, then it is her duty to remind them of their place.

Aliyeeva, after joining the stilyagi, noticed the parallels between Cheliax and Irrisen; the pacts made between Baba Yaga and the fey compare to that of the Thrice Damned House of Thrune, and there is much that both countries could learn from each other in terms of procedures, structure, etc.

11. Does your character have goals?

Aliyeeva personally wants to travel to Cheliax to study and observe the practices of the nation. However, she has resigned to put that on the backburner while she serves as Irrisens representative to aiding the Crusade against the Worldwound. She figures if she can please the rest of the Winter Witches long enough with her service in Kenabres, she will be allowed to return to Whitethrone or allowed to travel as she desires.

12. Is your character religious?

Irriseni are not religious by any measure of acknowledgement, and neither is Aliyeeva. After all, why bother being religious when a distant grandmother seems to be a goddess herself in that of Baba Yaga?
Despite not particularly caring for them, she has no concern

14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?

Aliyeeva is condescending towards those not of noble status, but still curious regarding other cultures, regardless of status.

15. Why does your character adventure?

Aliyeeva does not view her situation as adventuring. She is traveling to Kenabres to represent Irrisens support; of course she's the only support Irrisen is offering.

Depending on Reign of Winter; either Queen Elvanna despises completely the stilyagi and equally believes the Worldwound is beneath the actual notice of the Winter Witches, she sends "magical support" in the form of a 19 year old girl who's barely finished her training.
Alternatively, if Reign of Winter is over canonically, Queen Anastasia is scrambling trying to put out proverbial fires from the disgruntled Winter Witches upon her taking of the throne. Aliyeeva is the token representative sent to show good faith to the Crusade until such a time as she can send more support.

19. Is there anything that your character hates?

Presently, Aliyeeva disdains the political situation that got her sent to Kenabres, but after considerable research on the demonic invasion, she does post a particularly hard hatred for the rampaging chaos that demons embody. Through that research about demons and the Abyss, she also noted many parallels between the Fey of the First World and the sheer chaos of the Abyss. Aliyeeva came to the tentative conclusion that the Worldwound and the porting over of the Fey from the First World near Chillblight (a city she loves dearly) are not dissimilar events. That uneasiness makes her worry in part about the stability of Irrisen.

20. Is there anything that your character fears?

Aliyeeva fears death, and not living up to expectations (as the Winter Witches have long since taught that those who fail will be severely punished).

Mechanical Observations:

I hate the White Hair Witch archetype so very much. Awesome concept, ridiculously overcharged because the few rogue talents you can finally pick at late game aren't generally very good and totally not worth the Hexes given up on a d6 class with 1/2 BAB.

However, I went with it figuring my spells are going to be my bread and butter, anything else was going to be gravy. Given the White Hairs reptutation as terrible, maybe request from the GM getting the Prehensile Hair Hexes INT to attack rolls, and allowing the Winter Witch Archetype to stack in? Only Hex I actively want is the Frozen Caress (or if allowed, probably just take that as an Extra Hex Feat).

Went Arcanist Ice (air) School Savant as a balance between power and flavor. Aeromancer was a close option, just didn't feel like the pay off was quite worth it. Elemental Master isn't bad for cold in a core game, but wasn't about to get the job done at Mythic.

Without dipping all over the place, I could not find a way to make everything work the way I wanted it to as far as the gunslinger witch. And after realizing we already had a kineticist in the party (sleep deprivation makes one a dumb person), I scratched that idea just to make everything streamlined and simple mechanically as I could while still doing something different for flavor and style.

Hopefully everyone enjoys it!

I would love to play but I don't think anything I am conjuring would be any better or more interesting than what is already on the table. An awesome number of applicants here, good luck folks!

Dot. Thinking about a magus that doesn’t want to be a wizard and joined the crusade to spite her parents.

Dotting, I have an idea. It’s a weird one but I think it could be fun. An Occultist-Investigator; deadset on understanding why the world wound happened, and stopping it.

Everything I think is done. Never tried an occultist, and the idea seems absolutely cool! I can say I very much enjoyed building him at the very least. The main idea behind Hareleon, is to offer an array of choices to help the party with. From extracts, implements, focus powers, and an ABSURD amount of skills I think he could help quite well. He isn’t a full 9th level caster but why not add some spice to the party.

His father while away trading up river with Sarkoris witnessed the initial demon invasion. Wishing to do their part and make coin as well he moved the family north to help buy and distribute goods. Settled on EldritchArcher|TanglebriarDemonhunter half-elven woman who ran away from her mother the wizard|fighter because she doesn’t want to be considered a child her entire life, or be forced to “learn to wield weapons and magic properly”. Her father was an ulfen crusader who her mother talked up as “noble and valiantly absent” (maybe he even was) as she insisted her daughter be better than perfect. She has a lot to prove, and is beginning to think mother may have been right as she wanders along the low roads of the underground…

Background Questions:
1. What is your character’s name?

She introduces herself as Gentle Night. Her mother calls her Gertrude and she hates it.

2. How old is your character?

Not old enough to be off leading strings, if you ask her mother. (20)

3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?

Gertrude is tall and fit, but she looks -tiny- because she carries her father's sword and bow, and they dwarf her. It's only once you get close that you realize just how big she is, 6'3, with a tightly braided plait in the style of her mother's people, and the ears and eyes to match. She wears a faded but still in good condition set of parade armor, it doesn't quite fit. She is covered in scars, tiny lines that show she has been playing with sharp objects since she was a child, and losing, always losing. Her eyes are surprisingly kind, for all that she looks like a veteran of two wars and a small insurgency.

4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)?

She enjoys people's reaction when they realize she's a warrior, and refuses to look away when she notices someone staring at the scars.

5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised?
Kyonin, By who? her mother and her mother's family.

6. Who are your parents?
An Ulfen barbarian of some renown who made a name for
himself in Numenaria and the Lands of the Linnorn Kings, and an Elven wizard who has vowed to never venture among humans again. Are they alive? They are separated but alive. What do they do for a living? Dismemberment and Divination respectively.

7. Do you have any other family or friends?
Lots of family but they are all either human and absent or elven and find it hard to feel the urgency that Gentle does. Not many friends at the moment, under kenebras. (Hopefully the party?) She was friendly with the demonhunters in tanglebriar and the crusaders in kenebras, but the rangers weren't "acceptable" to her mother.

8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids?
Possibly betrothed to someone she's never met, in the Land of the Linnorn, certainly expected to settle down with a nice elf in Kyonin, and blissfully ignoring those expectations.

9. What is your character’s alignment?
NG, most days, leaning toward LN on the hard days either letting routine carry her or trying to ignore her inner nihilist.

10. What is your character’s moral code?
I'll never be a victim again, and I'll die before anyone victimizes someone in front of me. I should try to be better today than I was yesterday, even if it's hard.

11. Does your character have goals?
She'd like to stop having nightmares, even if Korada is nice. She'd like a home where she isn't expected to be something she's not. She'd like to feel comfortable in her own skin.

12. Is your character religious?
Deeply. She's had first hand experience with Korada in her dreams and knows she has something important to do with her life beyond her mother's tales of an absent hero-father or dreams of a wizardry daughter. She's uncomfortable at the moment that she can't be sure when dawn is, to meditate on forgiveness.

13. What are your character’s personal beliefs?
Forgiveness has value in itself, no matter how difficult. They always tell you you need to go to school, turns out there are a lot of schools and some of them do more than study books. Might doesn't make right, but it often makes good enough, and it's important to try again even if you are scared or hurt. Sometimes evil walks, and you should punch it until it stops walking, then shove it back in whatever hole it crawled out of and...*breathes* I have anger issues, because anger is part of being alive, but I'm working on them because I want to be more than just angry.

14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?
Gentle has no patience for lectures, and can be brusque as a result, but once you get her curious about something she is a font of curiosity. This can make conversations with her somewhat confusing.

15. Why does your character adventure? She wants more from life than a quiet, safe, nightmare.

16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer?
The world is meant to be explored. Understood. Conquered. Hiding in the light won't make the dark go away, you have to push it back.

17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)?
She is covered in scars from decades of weapon training, and her unnatural height marks her in crowds.

18. How does your character get along with others?
She's not particularly judgemental, but she can be abrupt or even churlish if things seem to be stalled. This often has others considering her prickly, or brusque. She's been called Stubborn, and "That harridan child" enough times that they almost feel warm.

19. Is there anything that your character hates?
Daemons, Demons, and the dreams thereof.

20. Is there anything that your character fears?
Love. It destroyed her mother, and it might destroy her too.

Hi GM & other players, is this still open for applying? Would you guys be receptive to a brand new player in the forums? I'm trying to find a good PF1 to join, and I like how this one seems to still be at the beginning. If it's not for newcomers or if I'm too late to apply, that's totally fine too! Cheers

Hello all! Sorry for not getting back, was talking with the players over the applicants.

We have decided to take on two new members instead of just one.

Aradala and Aliyeeva, please report to the discussion thread and introduce yourselves!

Have fun storming the castle!

Sweet.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Alright, back to the drawing board! One of our players is stepping away and another is on a break so we're recruiting two more players to bring the eventual total up to 5!

Same build rules as the beginning of this thread, but you'll be level 3 and start with 1,000 gold worth of equipment. You'll need to catch up on the gameplay thread, and I'll get you caught up on what has happened to your characters so far before you get introduced.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have!

What's the current party make-up/are there specific roles y'all are looking to fill?

We have:
Angahaar - Human bloodrager/fighter (dragonheir scion)
Anastasia - Alchemist (Ragechemist) / Barbarian (Armored Hulk)

And the 'currently taking a break but will be back' character:
Raban - Male Mbe'ke Dwarf Halcyon Druid 3 / Ravener Hunter Sanctified Slayer (Inquisitor) 3

Quite heavy on melee/tanking with a tiny bit of casting from alchemist and druid (when Raban returns). So maybe a caster of some sort would work well.

Ooooh, super tempting. I have a gestalt aasimar cleric/uMonk built for a Wrath game that died on the vine, sadly. She is a good second-line fighter or could be configured to go Zen Archer for additional ranged plinking. Either version is a kick to play.

Does that seems a decent fit for your team?

Sounds more like a 'double' caster like Oracle/Sorcerer or something similar. Is there a double arcane caster combo that works on the same stat?

I hear what your saying but the team looks a bit thin on healing as well. And with two slots open, a healer may be appreciated.

That could potentially work! I think the main categories they’re lacking in are healing, casting, and a bit of rogue skills when Raban isn’t here.

Specifically for that idea, stormraven, I might recommend going Zen archer to supplement the ranged damage.

Ooooh, sounds like a perfect time to attempt a Wizard//Cleric, but I'm unsure which god I'll go with for this.

Nethys seems like the obvious choice for a mage-priest, right? I was thinking about going Magus/Warpriest myself. Then again, might be better to focus on Arcane or divine and not try to do both. Then again, who doesn’t want a chance to eventually spellstrike with Harm?

Dark Archive

Healing, casting, and skills? I'm sure I could whip something up in the next couple days. Cleric/Spiritualist? Monk/Psychic? Hmmm....

I've beaten Wrath of the Righteous on PC. Would that disqualify me as a potential player?

My three ideas for gods are the obvious choice of Nethys, Alseta to close the door which should never have been opened, and unlikely Pharimia (to emulate the hero-god with Beyond Morality, since that's what the original build of the Cleric//Wizard or Cleric/Wizard was)

@Rosc: I generally try to pick people who haven’t played through the entire campaign, but if the character concept is good and you can separate character and player knowledge, I’m not opposed. I reserve the right to deal with any metagaming that does happen, of course.

@Violant: Honestly, out of the three, I like the idea of Alseta the most. I know she most likely wouldn’t play like that, but the idea of “hey, demons, you got a license for that portal to the Abyss?” is really really funny.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, I might try to combine them in some way, while still being someone who follows both Alseta and Pharimia, but only serving as a cleric of one.

That, and I'd get to possibly make an off-handed quip essentially boiling odwn to "hey, demons, you got a license for that portal to the abyss" as well. That's too good not to pass up.

I’m thinking I may lean into the Magus/Warpriest thing. Especially if there’s likely to be someone else joining the party who can heal, that frees me up to be Neutral (like Nethys!) and spontaneously cast inflict spells (that I can use to fuel spellstrike). And it’s always fun to be a non-evil Inflict caster. You can be a perfectly friendly, Good-adjacent type of guy, but when someone comes to you for healing, well, I ain’t that kind of priest, son. Really embodying the destructive aspect of Nethys.

I should note that I have played WotR, but only the first couple of books, and I was a Paladin in that game. I want to do something different.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Sounds interesting. I'm thinking an arcanist/monk, possibly using the archetype that gives the witch spell list for a bit of healing.

Either that or a kobold arcanist/cleric for a mystic theurge style build.

Anastasia's player chiming in here!

The party is definately set on frontline members. Angahaar is a mish mash of all kinds of strong melee, and Anastasia may as well be the juggernaut. We even have the Druid/Inquisitor's tiger!

While Anastasia isn't a Rogue archetype or have a high dexterity she does have perception and disable device to deal with traps. Between the rest of the party we also have a wide array of knowledge skills and other talents. Any skill driven character would definately want to be an expert in their chosen skills to stand out.

What we definately don't have is a casting powerhouse. Something like a Sorcerer/Oracle would definately fill out the current gaps as our departing player is a Sorceress. Angahaar currently believes he is the last surviving silver blooded person from the area, so that would be an interesting hook if that strikes your fancy.

...I just love dragon blooded sorcerers. Don't mind me.

@MysteriousMaker- I adore kobolds! They have some unique builds revolving around going dragon disciple from the oracle class, channeling energy at a higher value, or casting at a higher value as a sorcerer. They also have an oracle favored class bonus to AC granted by spells.

GM of the Crusade wrote:

Grand! I'll build her as a cleric/zen archer.

I was skimming the recruitment thread, early discussion thread, and current characters... it looks like you are using Background Skills, Elephant in the Room Feat Tax Rules, and it seems each character has gotten a third Trait somewhere along the line. I'm not seeing any Drawbacks to go with that.

Is that correct? If so, I'm assuming we should build to those parameters as well, yes?

For equipment, should we go with WBL 3 or a custom amount? I didn't inventory the current characters but, at a glance, they look WBL 1 or maybe slightly higher.

GM wrote:
Traits: two normal, and one Campaign, which must be from the Wrath of the Righteous Player's Guide.

They started with three originally! I love traits for adding personalization.

GM wrote:

I just decided to use WBL for level 2, since they have a few things but not enough to equal level 3 yet.

Gah! Apologies on the already answered questions. Too many late nights recently.

All good, don’t mind answering them again!

Might I ask when you want submissions by?

Question:
I am thinking I'll go with the kobold arcanist/oracle idea. I'm thinking her tribe got destroyed by demon cultists, but because of her unusual coloration, they tried to use her as a sacrifice in some sort of dark ritual, but she escaped at the last moment when the ritual was disrupted by crusaders. The ritual left it's dark mark on her and she rides the line between light and dark. I was thinking of taking the lich curse, but I wanted to confirm if the spell she gets is control undead or command undead. Both spells fit thematically but it seem like a rather large change in spell level, so it may be a typo on aonprd, but I don't have the physical book to verify.

Also, gm I like the story hook of Stolen Fury campaign trait, but I think the mechanical benefits of Riftwarden Orphan fits better even narratively with the first trait. I have no idea whether the related mythic path is a requirement or a suggestion, but is it alright to go with Stolen Fury narratively but to use Riftwarden Orphan's mechanic bonus? The focus on making sure all players with the same trait be narratively related suggests it will matter in AP somewhere in such a way that it makes difference.

@Violant: A few days, maybe a week. No concrete timeline, but I’ll make and announce one when we have enough for me to select from.

@MysteriousMaker: that’s an interesting question actually. I see that control undead is a 7th level spell, where command undead is a 2nd level spell. PFS has actually errata’d it to be Command Undead, the 2nd level spell, so I’ll go with that.

Hi!

Idea 1: The "Elfish saviour"

Warsighted Oracle of Battle.
Elfen to have longbow proficiency, high charisma and dex.

plot threads:

There is an interesting curveball potential about whom she is getting her powers from.

Narrative pitch: Elfen supremacist from Kyounin, is convinced that Treerazor is worse then the worldwound, has a paternalistic streak.
RP Sample:

RP sample:

well Struck Mr. Bloodrager! Alys chirps in an utterly paternalistic fashion
I have a name! Angron Smashfist, Bloodrager extraordinare, chosen of Gorrum
But you non elfs die so quickly! It is just depressing to learn you names
Dear Mrs. Oracle-prick, Ill let you know I am an Aasimar, Koschthies phantom balls!

Idea 2: The Professional
Eldritch archer, highly professional attitude, Lawful neutral, high Int and dex

plot threads:

Secretly worships Achachekek. Is annoyed that the big boned bat b@@~# has the bigger kill list concerning Demon Lords.

RP sample:

Problem. Fiendish minotaur with a very big axe.
Parameters: Like tough, likely hard to affect with mind altering spells on account of rage, likely mediocre reflex based abilities.
Solution: Grease the Axe. Minimal risk of failure.
Targis thinks quickly as he casts a spell
Unlucky He says as the axe does not slip from the Minotaurs grip.

For Aasimar, are Variant Abilities and/or Physical Features? I looked at some of the aasimar PCs and it didn't look like either option was used.

Is there a particular one you were looking at? I don’t like the extra increases to stats, but if there’s a particular flavorful one you were looking for I wouldn’t mind looking at them.

Golden scaled winged kobold. Arcanist/oracle with a few levels of paladin (thinking just 5 paladin).

1 arcanist/paladin
2 arcanist/oracle
3 arcanist/oracle

Arcanist archetype: eldridge font
Arcanist exploit: quick study

Oracle curse: lich
Oracle mystery: shadow
Oracle revelation: pierce the shadows

Traits:
1 black blood heritage
2 golden scales
3 campaign trait ?

For the Variant Physical Features (no mechanical benefit at all) I liked the ones I rolled when I played her before:

* Her glows silver in moonlight (which she likes), and
* Bells ring whenever she passes by (which totally irritates her)

I'd love to take those again, if you have no objection.

For the Variant Abilities, I'd be trading in See Invisible for it. Some abilities are definitely more valuable and a lot are less so, IMO. If we eliminate any of the '+2 to a Stat' entries from the list, would you be willing to go with a random roll and then let me choose between the result or See Invisible?
