Yendi Ionescu |
Gonna make a bit of a guess, since I may be away from being able to check the game for a good bit of the weekend. This may work very well, or... less well.
Will save: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Yendi drops a hand on Menas's shoulder, "I know you have little love for the Gods and their works, but don't worry, this is a gift from myself, not one beseeched from above." and sends Healing energies into Menas.
1 action level 4 Heal, after those other fireballs: 4d8 ⇒ (5, 7, 4, 7) = 23
Afterward, he looks up at the Ravener bearing down on them, "And you, I think, need to remember why you are really here." He casts another spell, to draw the creature into a reverie of memories of its own previous life, before it became an undead monstrosity. Will save DC 29 for Spiritual Anamnesis
Spiritual AnamnesisSpell 4
Uncommon Mental Necromancy
Source Pathfinder #147: Tomorrow Must Burn pg. 74
Traditions divine, occult
Cast Two Actions somatic, verbal
Range 60 feet; Targets 1 creature
Saving Throw Will;
Duration varies
Memories of a past life that seem incredibly real (and may even be) overwhelm the target’s mind. This is especially disorienting for undead and creatures that have lived a previous life (such as celestials, fiends, monitors, and many other extraplanar creatures); if such creatures roll a critical success on their save, they get a success instead, and if they roll a failure, they get a critical failure instead.
Critical Success The creature is unaffected.
Success The creature is slowed 1 for 1 round.
Failure The target is slowed 1 for 1 minute and babbles about the visions, possibly providing information about what they saw.
Critical Failure As failure, but the target is also stunned 3.
The Dire GM |
Thereus shakes off the fear and avoids some of the fire completely, but is slightly singed (10). He heals himself, but then misses with two arrow strikes.
Yendi is grazed by both fireballs (15) and ignores the ravener's aura entirely. He then lays healing onto Menas after the Magus makes his saving throws vs. the fireballs.
He then draws upon the spirits of this ancient land and tries to thrust those memories and feelings at the undead dragon!
Will save: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36 (Awesome spell! I wish it just reduced their success by one degree instead of specific levels like that.)
The ravener is slowed for a round!
Giggling at all the fireworks, the demon who was first to act waggles the fingers of its free hand and toes, and then disappears in a puff of smoke, suddenly reappearing behind Ukh!
With a grin, it swings its flaming sword at the goblin!
Flaming Sword: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Slashing Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (5, 5) + 4 = 14
Evil Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Ukh and Menas are up!
Ukh and Menas need to roll two DC 21 Basic Reflex saves and one DC 25 Will save!
Menas will be healed for 23hp after resolving the reflex saves.
Menas Redwall |
reflex save 1 vs 17: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
reflex save 2vs 15: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
I Wish I could have afforded some fire resistance this game, but I didn't have enough gold laying around.
Menas once again drops to the ground as fireballs sail overhead. Unfortunately, one manages to still explode close enough to cause injury while the other misses entirely. "My thanks Yendi."
-22 > -29 > -6 after healing.
Menas then tries to resist the menacing presence of the Ravener.
will save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 Frightened 2
Unfortunately, mental resistance is one of the things Menas severely lacks, and he becomes quite frightened by the massive undead dragon; but come on, who wouldn't be?
Regardless, Menas decides it's time to spread out from fireball formation and deal with the enemies in front of him. He takes his quickened stride over to the Brimorak threatening Ukh and unleashes a powerful spellstrike.
spellstrike, Gouging Claw Punch, Ghost Touch, Flanking: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 16 - 2 = 31
bludgeoning damage: 2d6 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 + 5 = 13
Gouging Claw damage, slashing: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 2) + 4 = 17
Menas then raises his Spellguard Shield, hoping to ward off additional fireballs.

Ukh |
Reflex: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17 Then Resist fire 5
Reflex: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 Then Resist fire 5
So I take 12 damage after resist fire
The goblin tries to avoid the deluge of fire so much he can.
Will: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
Then he's frightened by the huge monster coming to them. But he takes all his courage to throw a bomb towards the appearing in front of him demon.
Bottle lightening moderate: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 16 - 2 = 25 vs FF
Damage, splash: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11 On a hit, the target becomes flat-footed until the start of your next turn
Then he goes away and casts Shield.
The Dire GM |
Menas is singed by flame but healed swiftly thereafter, but then decides to tactically withdraw away from the frightening ravener a little bit. Taking advantage of Ukh's positioning, he lands a critical hit on the demon! (60 plus 1d4 bleed)
Upon being hit with slashing damage, the demon's boiling blood spurts in Menas's direction!
Fire Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 (Menas, DC 19 Basic Reflex Save)
Ukh is also able to shake off most of the fire damage, but is also scared by the ravener!
His thrown lightning connects with its target, doing full damage and making the demon flat-footed!
Being slowed down, the ravener cannot approach and also use its breath weapon, so it does the next best thing - rushing forward and biting at the person who cast doubt upon it...Yendi!
Jaws: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (17) + 21 = 38 (15ft reach) (...oof)
Piercing Damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 5) + 10 = 17
Negative Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
(Critical: 48 damage)
Meanwhile, the other two demons follow their battle tactics and follow their lead-ally's. They *bampf* in a puff of smoke, appearing on either side of Menas, both of them attacking with flaming swords! (Demon 3 benefiting from the flanking partner)
Flaming Sword 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
Slashing Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7
Evil Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
(10 damage)
Flaming Sword 3: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 vs. Flat-footed (oy, another crit)

Yendi and Thereus are up!
Menas needs to roll a DC 19 Basic Reflex save!
(and let's hope my dice as a GM stop rolling so hot and my dice as a player later this week pick up vs last week!)
The Dire GM |
Thereus 2ed |
The ravener strike will trigger my reaction.
longbow ranged reprisal shot (volley penalty): 1d20 + 18 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 18 - 2 = 28 longbow damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 4) + 3 = 15 longbow acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 plus Yendi gets resistance 11 to the damage and with Divine Smite - if I hit with the Retributive Strike, the target takes 2 persistent good damage.
-------------------------
"Erastil! Give me the strength to withstand this evil!"
With the ravener so close (and so large), Thereus alters his stance to aim at close range before letting loose a pair of arrows in rapid succession at the behemoth.
longbow first shot: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27 longbow damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6 longbow acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Menas Redwall |
reflex save: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
By the way, it will be 4d4 persistent bleed since its a 4th level cantrip
Menas mostly avoids the spray from the demon, but it still singes his clothes some more. I'll probably need some new threads after this. Maybe some skin too.
23hp remaining
Yendi Ionescu |
With the Fire resistance from the ring Yendi purchase having applied to the earlier fireball damage, and with Thereus's Resistance applying to the Piercing and Negative damage of that bite, I count HP at 50/98, rather than 85 damage taken
Yendi reels back as the creature snaps at him, its attack only barely blunted by Thereus's timely arrow, but sees Menas barely standing amidst the demons. He grits his teeth, hoping to hold on another second as he Strides past Thereus, to get close enough to Menas to help him, (and hoping the Ravener won't be able to spew some horrific breath at them all without catching its allies!) before he draws on the power of his blood to Heal Menas (Two Actions, Divine Evolution bonus slot) Healing: 5d8 + 40 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 3, 5) + 40 = 61
The Dire GM |
I trust you all on the hp - I'm juggling so much that me being off doesn't surprise me, so please do correct me when I'm incorrect!
Thereus's reaction scores a hit on the ravener, dealing full damage and persistent good damage!
The champion follows up with two very accurate strrikes!
Yendi pulls back, learning in turn that the ravener is too slow to react to such opportunities and heals Menas.
The quickest of the demons, following its tactics/instincts, senses that Menas is no longer the most wounded amongst you, so it takes a Step away from the magus then unleashes a roiling breath weapon at Thereus and Yendi (20 foot line, so ignore the final square of the template I put on the map).
NOTE: The squares affected by the breath weapon become slippery, as per the effects of a grease spell.

Menas Redwall |
3d4 more bleed damage: 3d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) = 8
Pretty sure this means Demon 2 dies to the bleed.
Menas is a little too busy right now to give his thanks to Yendi once again, but he realizes its time for additional defense and casts Mirror Image. He then teleports behind demon 3 with Dimensional Assault.
strike vs Demon 3: 1d20 + 16 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 16 - 1 = 31

3 mirror images remain. No longer frightened. Spellstrike recharged.
The Dire GM |
Menas is correct - I missed the 4d4 thing. Demon 2 bleeds out after its actions!
Yendi and Thereus avoid most/all of the breath weapon!
Menas successfully strikes Demon 3 twice (26)!
Updated stats:
Demon 3 (26 damage)
Demon 2 (DEAD)
Ukh is still up!
(will update map after my game tonight)
Ukh |
The goblin pulls out his crossbow, loads it and fire towards the Demon 3.
+1 striking alchemical crossbow: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35
Damage, acid: 2d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 7) + (5) = 17
The Dire GM |
Terrain Note: Blue areas on the map are under the effects of Grease
Ukh draws the crossbow and expertly fires, scoring a critical hit against the already-injured demon! (34)
Having finally lumbered to you, peppered by arrows and slowed by spells, the ravener husk can opens its maw and unleashes its breath in a 40-foot cone of dark, draining, negative energy! (a bit weird to map out, but I've done my best using the spell templates) It doesn't seem to care that it catches one of the demons in the cone; because it is able to target Thereus, Yendi, and Menas all at the same time!
Negative Energy Damage: 11d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 5, 2, 4, 3, 1, 1) = 23

Piercing Damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (8, 1) + 10 = 19

The ravener's flat check vs. persistent good damage
1d20 ⇒ 8
It continues to burn with good energy!
The demons' goal is to attack the most wounded person, so Demon 1 will point a finger and cast Produce Flame aimed at Thereus! (If Thereus is already down, this attack will be aimed at Yendi)
Produce Flame: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Fire Damage: 3d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1, 4) + 2 = 11
Missing, this demon will run between Menas and Yendi to end up behind Thereus!
(Menas and Yendi, if either of you have a reaction available, you can take it)
The last demon, wanting to spread as much fire and carnage as possible, takes a step north then uses its breath weapon where the dead demon did previously, targeting Yendi and Thereus! (If Thereus is already down, it will instead run north of Yendi and target Yendi and Menas)

Demon 3 should still have taken 11 damage from the breath, it seems, shouldn't he?
Yendi Ionescu |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Reflex: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31 Yendi scrambles to avoid the blast, seeing that stopping the beast from breathing has failed, but still catches some of the numbing energy! 39/98HP
"Subtlety be damned! I tried to give you a peaceful way to your rest. But I will give you the quick one, instead. You chose the fire, and it's time to burn!" Yendi spits, as he weaves his hands through the start of the gestures needed to call forth a ray of Searing Light, toward the Ravener. Heightened to Level 5, and targeting Reflex DC with his Shadow Signet Ring and hoping this thing is only Fire resistant, not fireproof!
Searing Light: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37

Good damage: 9d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 2, 5, 3, 3, 5, 4) = 33
He spins around, just in time to sidestep another stream of fire and glare at the demon at his back, "And I will be with you, shortly!" but the visible fatigue and color drained from his face after the wave of negative energy washed across him makes the delivery less convincing than it might have been.

Yendi is sapped by the darkness streaming forth from the ravener, but avoids the demon's fiery breath. He brings his full ire to bear on the undead dragon, and lands a critical hit with his Searing Light!!

Menas dashes in, arms glowing with arcane power as he crushes and gouges the final brimorak, killing it! You are now out of combat!
(Music changed on Roll20)
Moments after you destroy the ravener and its demonic allies, you hear the sounds of fighting coming to an end to the south of you and Pathfinder calls of victory, even as some are redirected through your area to reinforce Eando Kline's forces in the north.
Eliza Petulengro rushes to the four of you along with two other agents. She explains that she can guarantee a brief 10-minute rest for your team, and that the agents she has with her can tend to those in need.
This allows you to regain Focus Points, cast spells, and use consumable items if you want. The agents Eliza brought along restore all of your Hit Points with a combination of spells and elixirs of life. Eliza offers to cast 4th‑level restoration spells on you if any of you require it; she has 3 scrolls available. During this brief rest, you see the combined Pathfinder forces defeat remaining waves of undead and demons, though other shapes still loom in the storm.
When the ten minutes of rest are up, Eliza thanks you for your monumental effort and bravery so far, but states the hardest is yet to come. She casts a 3rd‑level anticipate peril (+2 to your next initiative checks) on each of you. She and Eando will take their forces to your flanks once more to keep the central area clear of other foes, stopping demonic reinforcements from reaching you while you press onward to engage the main threat - the demoniac spirit and ritual.
If you have any actions you would like to take during a 10-minute rest, and in advance of assaulting the central demoniac ritual, please do so now. Feel free to activate any spell with a duration longer than 1 minute during this time, and select an Exploration Activity if you so wish. Once you are all set to move on, the curtain shall truly rise!
Menas Redwall |
Menas studies his spellbook to recharge his focus point, checks his shield, and readies for the next combat. "Thanks again for the healing, Yendi. The creatures here are quite formidable."
Refocus, Defend Exploration.
Ukh |
Quite formidable? Certainly they are. Fortunately you are also. Because otherwise that would have been difficult to survive.
The goblin was a bit shocked by the last fight. And the next one is announced still worse...
Avoid notice
Yendi Ionescu |
"If we're going into the center of this ritual next, I fear it will only become more harrowing. Best that we all go into this bolstered as well as we can. And I think we will need to approach carefully, as much as the situation calls for haste. I have some magics at my disposal that may help. As it is, I believe we're still expecting a dark spirit at the center of this, and a dangerous one. I dont know if any of you have tools well suited to dealing with that sort of thing, but if you do, I would keep them close at hand. I think more demons aren't unlikely, either."
Yendi will cast Heroism on everyone but himself and will try to approach the site stealthily. 1 3rd level occult slot and 2 3rd level divine, leaving a few in reserve in case this isn't actually the biggest threat. That's a +1 Status bonus to attack rolls, perception, saving throws and skill checks for the next 10 minutes. Avoiding notice, carrying the Scroll of Banishment as well as his dagger.
The Dire GM |
Guarded on your flanks by other teams holding off demons and undead, you press forward to the ritual site, as Pathfinder counter-ritualists fill in behind you to do what they can.
Ablaze trees surround a clearing consumed by flame. A fiery ritual circle, almost eighty feet in diameter, rises two feet from the ground. Small sigils inside the circle further illuminate its interior. An inky black pit at the center of the circle leads into the bowels of the earth. Even looking at the pit invokes a sense of wrongness and vertigo. Outside the circle, five blazing rune are visible, each with trolls bound by iron chains to stand above them. Tendrils of lightning-filled smoke tie the five sigils to a spectral figure hovering in the air above the rift in the earth.
The spirit speaks, its voice booming above the blaze.
(Art for the spirit appears in Handouts on Roll20 under "The Ritual Site")
“You lesser creatures have hounded me at every turn, but you’re too late! The great Urxehl shall rise and restore us to our rightful place as rulers of this world. You will rue the day you dared to defy me! Now die, and let your souls feed my ritual!”
Terrain Notes:
Crossing into the circle of flame requires a DC 23 Will Save. Critically Failing this save will prevent entry. Failing or Succeeding normally will cause damage but allows you to pass. Critically Succeeding allows you entry without any hindrance.
The trolls are actually bound directly above each rune, but I have shifted them one square on the map towards the circle to show off the neat art. They are immobile but can reach every square adjacent to the rune they stand on top of.
To disable the runes from feeding power into the demoniac spirit requires you to make a Acrobatics, Arcana, Athletics, Occult, or Religion check. Each of these checks takes 2-actions, and each check requires you to be adjacent to (or on top of) the rune. If you know the Cyclops language, you get a +2 circumstance bonus to your disable checks.
INITIATIVE
(Remember you all have a +2 from Eliza's spell)
Demoniac Spirit: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (11) + 19 = 30
Trolls will be rolled into initiative only if they are approached.
If you roll over a 30, you may act! Those of you Avoiding Notice may use Stealth for Initiative

The Dire GM |
Menas - I mean specifically the Cyclops language, not Jotun, sorry. Also, the wall of fire may only be two-feet in height, but its abyssal energy radiates upwards. Cross at your own peril! ;)

Menas holds his shield before him as the lightning bolt slams into the eldritch runes etched onto it. The lightning bolt absorbs into the shield causing it to glow before expelling the excess energy into Menas' arm "You'll need to do better than that if you're actually trying to kill me."
Menas moves to the rune directly north of him and tries to disable it.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 18 + 1 = 30
Ukh |
Reflex: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Reflex, reroll: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Resist harm boon: Resist 1+1 (because Admired) vs acid, cold, electricity, fire, force, negative, positive and sonic once per adventure.
Then the goblin goes in the direction of the next rune. He doesn't want to die. But not sure how he will do for this. He's a goblin anyway.
He replies with a small voice: And if we are not prepared? We should wait for a while, no?
Yendi Ionescu |
Yendi is slightly slower to react than his allies who are dodging lightning as he's still taking a second to consider his enemy and muttering to himself "Another dead spirit may have memories to call on... but a spellcaster may have a disciplined mind, especially a fanatical priest.. and not even bones left to burn" before electing a method, Striding forward, and calling Down a Pillar of Divine Wrath on and around the spirit. That's a DC 29 29 Fortitude save
Good damage: 4d10 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 7) = 20
Evocation
Traditions divine
Bloodlines angelic, demonic
Cast Two Actions somatic, verbal
Range 120 feet; Area 20-foot burst
Saving Throw Fortitude
You can channel the fury of your deity against foes of opposed alignment. Choose an alignment your deity has (chaotic, evil, good, or lawful). You can't cast this spell if you don't have a deity or your deity is true neutral. This spell gains the trait of the alignment you chose. You deal 4d10 damage of the alignment you chose; each creature in the area must attempt a Fortitude save. Creatures that match the alignment you chose are unaffected. Those that neither match nor oppose it treat the result of their saving throw as one degree better.
Critical Success The creature is unaffected.
Success The creature takes half damage.
Failure The creature takes full damage and is sickened 1.
Critical Failure The creature takes full damage and is sickened 2; while it is sickened, it is also slowed 1.
The burst is added to the Roll20 map, hopefully it will sicken and soften this thing up a little
Thereus 2ed |
Watching Ukh enter the fray, Thereus takes aim at the troll dangling over the alchemist's rune.
longbow first shot: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 18 + 1 = 25 longbow damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12 longbow acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
longbow second shot: 1d20 + 18 - 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 18 - 5 + 1 = 17 longbow damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 1) + 3 = 9 longbow acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
longbow third shot: 1d20 + 18 - 10 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 18 - 10 + 1 = 28 longbow damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 3 = 11 longbow acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
The Dire GM |
I just realized I had the wrong DC for the lighting bolt, but I'm not going back since to do so would be to your detriment - I'll fix it going forward!
Menas and Ukh shrug off most of the lightning and advance!
The magus rushes north and disables the western rune - the demoniac spirit suddenly loses its ability to fly!
Troll 1 initiative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Yendi moves up as well and focuses divine wrath on the demoniac and one of the trolls!
Demoniac Fort: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Troll 1 Fort: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
The demoniac avoids most of Yendi's wrath, and his incorporeal nature allows him to resist the damage that remains, even as the troll takes full damage!
Firing over the goblin's head, Thereus hits the southern Troll with his first and third arrow! (18+14 = 32 total damage)
Troll 2 initiative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Glowering at all of you, the spirit focuses its ire on Menas and then Yendi, lashing out with Abyssal Spite (this is a 1-action evocation and occult effect) -
Mental Damage: 2d10 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14 vs. Menas
(CS: 0, NS: 7, NF: 14, CF: 28)
Mental Damage: 2d10 + 7 ⇒ (6, 10) + 7 = 23 vs. Yendi

DC 30 Basic Will Save
The spirit then shuffles back to the center of the circle a little bit, but much slower than its lost fly speed.
The western troll regenerates all of the damage dealt to it by Yendi, then strikes out at Menas!

Thereus 2ed |
Thereus continues his assault on the troll guarding the southern rune.

longbow acid deadly damage: 1d10 ⇒ 4 Deadly on first shot???
The Dire GM |
Thereus strikes the southern troll critically with his first shot and then again with his third shot! (38+22 = 60 total)
Updated Stats:
Troll 2 (92 damage)*
Menas, Ukh, and Yendi are still up!
Ukh |
Seeing that Thereus arrives to help him the goblin begins to throw a bomb upon the troll.
Alchemist's fire, moderate: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
Damage, splash, crit: 4d8 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (7, 1, 2, 4) + 2 + 8 = 24 +3 persistent fire
If the creature is still up he continues, otherwise he approaches to disable the rune the next time.
Alchemist's fire, moderate: 1d20 + 16 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 16 - 5 = 14
Damage, splash: 2d8 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (5, 8) + 1 + 4 = 18 +3 persistent fire
Menas Redwall |
will save: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 1 = 21 Heroism doing work for me. Thanks for the buff.
Menas feels a minor headache as the spirit assails his mind. However, he doesn't let the spell nor the troll slow him down as he focuses his inner ki into a burst of speed that propels him to the next rune.
Once there, he attempts to disable this one as well. "Getting worried yet as your power slips away?"
acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 18 + 1 = 30
HP 61/98. Concealed, DC 5 flat check to target. Focus Points 1/2
Yendi Ionescu |
Will Save: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
Yendi reels as that mental onslaught hits him full force. 75/98HP
As he sees the enemy pulling back and his allies scattering, he sees that he'll need more mobility to be able to get in spell distance. He casts Airwalk on himself and moves toward the ring of fire and begins to ascend.
The Dire GM |
Menas and Yendi reel from the mental assault, but Ukh follows up from Thereus's arrow storm and kills the southern troll with a critically-aimed alchemist fire!
The western troll has nobody in range so it bellows fruitlessly (dropping troll 1 out of initiative unless anybody comes within reach)
Yendi prepares to push into the center of the ritual, while Menas rushes forward and disables the northern rune. It appears that a barely-perceptible field of armor around the demoniac spirit disappears!
Troll 3 initiative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
The troll was not able to react prior to Menas disabling the rune, but attacks afterwards!
Jaws 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Piercing: 2d10 + 3 ⇒ (9, 7) + 3 = 19
Jaws 2: 1d20 + 13 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 13 - 5 = 9
Piercing: 2d10 + 3 ⇒ (9, 7) + 3 = 19
Jaws 3: 1d20 + 13 - 10 ⇒ (7) + 13 - 10 = 10
Piercing: 2d10 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4) + 3 = 8
It lands a lucky bite on the magus!
The demoniac ignores Menas for the moment, focusing on the pair of you who have drawn near each other. It first throws a fireball at Ukh and Yendi!
Fire Damage: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4, 4, 3, 3) = 22
