Morrin's protective shield lessens the blow from the bolt. With angered resolve Cassimon wields his glaive in a wide sweep that strikes down the hampered leader where he stood. With his follow through, he nearly fells the bomber as well. Asketell defiantly rises again to face the remaining threats with shield at bear.
The tide has turned.

Eddie is feeling pretty cooked, the smell of braised mushrooms are starting to fill the cavern as the acid keeps eating away, like those pesky fly larvae. "Anyone else hot in here?" They carefully step back away from the oversized orange Dwarf before commanding the thrall and raising their shield in defense.

Landitho gets dark with her words but the effect is short-lived as the musk thrall quickly silences the other brute with a deafening thud. Morrin's hammer nearly completes the task with a whack to the sharpshooter's head. She fires off another stinging bolt before disappearing from view.

What would Eddie need to do to help reduce the DC for the persistent damage to 10? I know its two actions but does it have a check associated with it first or is it automatic for the two actions spent?
Eddie leans up against the rock outcrop wavering and looking nervous. 1hp left and persistent damage is a PC killer!

![]() |

Assisted Recovery is here, but yeah two actions spent by you or another PC would give you another flat check (at DC 10 even if it is particularly useful like washing off the acid with a lot of water somehow) before the end of your turn (when you might go under). You also get your regular flat check at the end of the round and persistent damage ends automatically after 10 rounds.

Groggy from the repeated concussions, Asketell stumbles away from the fight. "Oh Eddie, you're burning there. You need something alkaline...Let me look. I might have something." Asketell moves over to the leshy and pulls some tinctures out of his bandolier. "Aha! Baking soda! That might do the trick! Stand still for a second, let me get that," he mutters as he tosses a white powder all over Eddie.

Eddie takes out a berry from his herb filled bandoleer "Bless this slightly over ripe berry fine fungal spirits so it keeps me in this body a bit longer."
Well, if I go down at least you can try feeding me the good berry for 1d6+4 hp. I've used up all three actions and can't eat it this round.

Cassimon tries to hit the vanished duergar as Asketell and Morrin try to save the leshy. Landitho wards the paladin. Morrin's cloth is just enough to wipe the remaining bubbles of acid off the poor leshy. The duergar shifts around but where she goes is anyone's guess.

Landitho drops her violin to her side. "That was an intense battle. How is everyone?" She looks at the down Cassimon. "Oh buddy. Wish I could help you there....". Landitho instead goes over to kick one of the duergar corpses to make sure they are dead.

As the group rallies to revive the paladin, the battle dies down further into the cave. A squad of Eagle Knights rushes over to check up on you. "Now that's how we do it. Let's head back to the surface and celebrate a hard fought win, new friends!"
With the duergar threat neutralized, the two groups head back to higher ground. Once there, Lieutenant Evanno seems particularly impressed with your feats, and offers his personal set of Golden Legion epaulets (in addition to Ghelib’s journal) to commemorate this day of alliance. When you do eventually part ways, he adds "If any of you feel so inclined, I'd sponsor a membership into the Eagle Knights..."

"The Eagle Knights are a fine group of fellows, from what I hear. I'll keep it consideration, Louie. And I suppose if you had any fellows here looking to work for the Pathfinder Society, one of us could put in a good word them too."
Asketell rubs his injured head. "I had my brain addled a few times today and I even thought for a minute I was going to see Valhalla. I need to get some healing first; but after that I could use a good ale or ten!"

Eddie limps back to the surface, partly wishing he stayed behind for a while to help compost those nasty giant dwarves. That feeling quickly lessens though when they shrink back to normal nasty dwarf size. Compost them nicely my feral fungi, they will provide nourishment for generations of hyphae!
"I feel like an aged Bolete.. so soft and squishy. I think that bottle of acid was trying to marinate me.. I will call it The Evil Vinaigrette!

Once back in the safety of camp Eddie spends many hours tending to the wounds of the injured, be it through herbal remedies or the blessed fungal berries. "Let us move into this shady area. The bright sun is bad for my burnt skin."
On the topic of 'Eagle Knights' Eddie mostly has just a quizzical look on their face "Do you ride the eagles? Are the eagles your prey? Why is the K silent?" Eddie isn't very exposed to the politics of the world.. yet.

Morrin is barely able to stand while waiting for healing. "Ouch, I feel so bad after this battle I'll have to take more than few days off before next assignment. We were lucky not to die."
