Beorn's teachers can only shake their heads in dismay.
I'm sure they are staring at him, agape, wondering: 'Is this the real life, is this just fantasy'... :P
Post tonight. And no you cant aid intimidate and attack in the same round. But tiny was going to initiate surprise and intimidate next coming round anyway.
I didn't use Demoralize during the Surprise Round because I had already taken a Move and a Standard Action, and has no actions. But I thought that Demoralize was a standard action, and that it could be followed up with an attack. Are they actually mutually exclusive?
Also, I'll edit Litsy's character sheet a little- her +1 trait bonus to initiative only applies to surprise rounds, so her Initiative should be at +3.

Hey everyone, I'll probably be out today with the family. It'll be a while before I can post in the evening. My apologies!

Tiny Litsy |

Paquen mentally runs through Variel's list applied to herself.
Love? No. Loss? Yes. Unless he means specifically love lost then no. Spouse? No. Children? No. Real job? Not really. Paying taxes? No.
It makes her wonder if she herself is qualified according to him.
Lol Paquen :D
I swear I just felt that in my soul...

Tiny Litsy |

Beorn utters a somewhat lewd tune to perhaps get the spirit to embrace life. Memememmme!
I didn't know that song, and I think I just died.

Indeed, nice choices :)
Also, wanted to notify everyone: starting tomorrow I will be going on a 1 week vacation. I should be back on the evening of the 13th (of august). I'll have some internet access but will probably not be able to post daily. Please bot me if required. Best of fun/luck to everyone and hope to see you all sometime in the meantime or when I get back!

wow we are atrocious with skill checks right now. Thankfully we aren't running from the Dottari or we would all be caught and arrested.

Cash is good. We need to find this group somehow and I need to purchase or craft a hat if disguise

![]() |

We can stash it for now to sell later or have Rexus look at it to see if there is any inscription or insignia on it. How are we doing loot as well? Who needs it gets first dibs and the rest is split evenly? Are we having a group party fund along with the Silver Ravens fund we will eventually need?

Tiny Litsy |

With two Dutch persons in the group, I expect more gouda puns in the future... Supposedly they're better when they get old :P
About the loot, maybe we can split the money evenly and RP the repartition of specific items according to who needs it the most? (like a weapon or an armor)

Im adding a bit of extra money here and there to make up for the higher player count.
Im considering starting another game some time down the line, maybe when one of the current ones I play in dies. But I'm thinking high magic world set like late 1800's london with foreign missionaries, ghoul plague and other bits. Cutting out most of the first party class and spell stuff in favor of a little divine magic, spheres of power, path of war, machinesmith, and maybe aome other 3pp stuff if I like the feel. Trying to keep it accessible and easy to find on d20pfsrd so no one has to buy books i already own or flat out wrote. Its a while yet as i want to put plenty of detail in the city and general AP style plot but im putting in lines here and there to check enthusiasm.

Live in the USA but great grandfather came from the Netherlands!

Good enough for me!

Malgar the Mad |

Yeah, I'm Dutch too. I'll try and think of some cheese puns to fill the quotum :)

Tiny Litsy |

I live in Northern France, and yet I have never been to the Netherlands :(
What system would you use for the new game, GM?

Tiny Litsy |

I'm also taking this opportunity to inform you that I'll be on holidays next week, from Monday to Sunday. I'll probably have access to the hotel WiFi in order to get a few posts in, but I don't think I'll be able to use the map, because Roll20 looks AWFUL on the phone and I can't make it work.
While I'm away, feel free to bot me to move things along, GM, especially in combats! :)

I mean i used to live like 4 miles from Daytona beach and straight up never went. Going to another country even with open borders and mostly sorta speaking the same language is not as bad I think. Im still always amazed at how eurocentric these boards tend to be.
And new game qould be pathfinser hundred percent. Itd just be ysing a lot of 3pp. Notably spheres of power and path of war would change the feel significantly.

It sounds interesting to me. I like the setting and I like me some steampunk every now and then. It would have to be a ways down the line for me though, I couldn't pick up another game anytime soon.

Malgar the Mad |

The new game and setting definitely sounds interesting! 1800's London sounds like a great start. I have some experience with both Path and Spheres too, and both have been positive. Would like a chance to use either a bit more.

Tiny Litsy |

I've never played with either (or heard of them, for that matter ^^'). I'd be interested in trying the campaign, but I'd probably need some help to understand how it works and how to create a character

I am in the same boat. I have a great grasp of pathfinder but any other rules or 3pp and I would be completely lost

Path of war is basically the old book of nine swords system people complained about being too anime. Nevermind HEMA's always been a thing but that's beside the point. Lots of good stuff regardless.
Spheres of power is an alternate magic system that narrows the focus of casters while increasing versatility in those focuses. Helps solve the problem of quadratic casters in some okay ways.
Machinesmith is something I wrote a long time ago. Though it looks like this entry is missing somethings so I'll need to go dig my books back out.
I'm still in the middle of writing a lot of the city and trying to hammer down the plot threads into something that is coherent. So I'm a long way off of actually doing anything yet.

Malgar the Mad |

Oh, wow. You wrote all that on the Machinesmith? That's awesome!
I really like the Path of War classes as they make full martial characters more interesting to play and more comparable in power to 3/4th BAB and full casters. You get a set of special attacks and abilities that you can use in place of a regular attack, and (I think - only played the warlord yet) most of them have the ability to do a special action of sorts to recharge expended special moves. The flavor for the different fighting schools is solid and they all have specific weapons you need to wear to use them. Also, they eventually also start getting spell-like effects such as becoming Ethereal as part of the attack etc.
Spheres of power works as Tark said above. Instead of premade spells, you can select a number of themed 'spheres' that have their own basic abilities (Example: the Time sphere grant a nerfed version of Haste and Slow as basic abilities). However, each basic ability has potentially dozens of upgrade options to make them more powerful in the way that you want. This costs sphere points, of which you get 1 per level for a full caster, and spending that on one upgrade means you can't use it to get other spheres and their basic abilities. You could build an uber version of Haste that also grants everyone fast healing, for instance, and works at larger ranges and longer durations if wanted, but your other repertoir of available magic might be very limited.
Spheres also has a set for martial spheres, which works in roughly the same way. Except instead of spells, you get basic special martial abilities you can upgrade in the same manner as the spells.
Spheres is a heck of a lot more reading than Path of War and is a lot more complex with bookkeeping and optimization, but it might admittedly be slightly more balanced than Path of War. There are those who argue that Path of War overshoots its goal of buffing Martials. For instance, a level 1 Warlord is a straight up improved fighter who can use both a shield and a reach polearm as the same time at base and has special attacks to do much more damage, grant allies extra attacks and buff them in general, which he can refresh multiple times during the fight if required.

Sounds very interesting but I know I don't have the time right now to learn a new system or 2. Good luck when the time comes to launch your new world!

I am fine with whomever wants the cloak…just was playing up the whole looking out for Tiny aspect. Do people want to roll off for the cloak?
