Suspicious about the quiet in the hangar, and suddenly very much expecting that Eline may have changed her plans after the alarms went off, Akh goes quickly to check if the ship is occupied at all by looking sneakily into the bridge from above.

I'm pondering what else we can prepare and don't have great ideas. If there's no one currently in the ship, maybe we just step inside, close the door, and get ready for the ambush when the doors are opened.

Akh flies over the top of the ship, peering into the bridge. He catches sight of a kalistocrat guard pushing buttons across the different consoles, preparing the ship for launch. You discuss, and are confident that - between the level of preparation of the ship and the info you have from the other employees - Ms. Reisora is aboard the ship.

Akh returns back to the group, and you pile through the cargo airlock. A few seconds later and the door into the ship opens. Your peripheral vision is once again astounded by the cargo bay that is bigger on the inside. Beyond is the long hallway, ending with two more kalistocrat guards with weapons raised. But your eyes just gloss over them. They are mere background furniture compared to the other two intruders - or perhaps just one intruder and one... surprise? In the starboard hallway stands a tall elegant blonde woman in white and gold regalia. Her armor glows with powerful defensive measures. While her height is a great aid she somehow manages to look down her nose at all of you - even upwards at Akh. "When the alarms went off, I knew it was you. Heathen thieves from the beginning, and heathen thieves at the end. Isn't that right, sister?"

With a twist in your stomach and a crack in your heart, you recognize the familiar sarcesian form. Your friend and once-crewmate stands in the hallway where you have squeezed past each other time after time before. Del looks identical to when you last saw her on the grounded Rust Bug with two exceptions. She is now wearing the long white gloves that you had seen in the bottom of her trunk. The more notable change was the installation of three mnemonic editors augmentations across her forehead. The little metal boxes protrude from her pink skin, the surrounding skin still irritated from the procedure. No recognition flashes across Del's face as she makes eye contact with you. "Yes, their lifestyle leaves... room for improvement."

One of the guards' forearm flexes as he prepares to pull the pin from a grenade. The other carries a plasma fork rifle. The sisters - joined through adoption, childhood, and religion - each hold a pistol but begin to wave their free hand in a mystical pattern. Your crew, carried through by momentum of your breach, ends up moving faster than the kalistocrat defenders despite your shock at this development.

Akh swirls back to meet the party and relays the numbers and positions of the kalistocrats he spotted on the bridge. Afterward he readies to "breach", shield and claws out and crackling with entropic force.

When the forces arrayed against the group are revealed, Akh comments "Even for you Eline, attaching jellybeans to your sister's forehead so she says your lame propaganda is low." He immediately charges forth, flexing his hind legs as he does for the extra jet boost! Paying 1 RP to reset my thruster heels and gain the additional 30ft speed. With an entropic charge, that takes him all the way down the hallway.

Arriving in their faces, he swipes his claw at the yellow guard going to end 5ft above the ground after the charge if that's acceptable.

Akh flies down the hallway unnaturally quickly while Jaraduk follows up behind. Guess? follows Akh's strike up with a shot of his own, while Melissa is a bit too overcome to aim straight. However... all three attacks flight right through her form without harming her at all! You cross your eyes and realize that her form is flickering in place.

Mysticism, DC 25:

Displacement: 1d100 ⇒ 40
Displacement: 1d100 ⇒ 4

Displacement: The target of this spell appears to be about 2 feet away from its true location. The creature benefits from a 50% miss chance as if it had total concealment. Unlike actual total concealment, displacement doesn’t prevent enemies from targeting the creature normally. True seeing reveals the target’s true location and negates the miss chance. If a creature with blindsense can also see the displaced creature, the visual and blindsense information combined are enough for the creature with blindsense to attack the displaced creature without a miss chance, unlike normal for blindsense.

She's cast Resistant Armor! She has resistance 10 that protects against three energy types.

Eline gives Guess? a wink, at his own eyeline rather than the illusory one, and calls out haughtily. "I merely helped her become who she wanted to be. You, and her memories, were holding her back from her purest potential." Tableau on Slide 2! She takes a step back and casts up her hands, lightning arcing out from her palms. The mystical energy strikes a point just in front of Melissa and creates a tiny black hole! The gravity well pulls Akh, Jaraduk, and Melissa towards it! You three must pass a DC 22 Reflex save or be knocked prone! Then, at the beginning of your turn, pass a second DC 22 Reflex saving throw or be drawn 15 feet closer to the center of the area. (This movement provokes attacks of opportunity.) "Eline and I will live forever in matching servers. Once I elevate her to the executive ranks at the company, she'll be able to afford her own afterlife in no time." Del raises her long fingers and twists them in an arc. "Alright, time to to give this ship a bit of a makeover. Make it less... gaudy!" She begins to summon in large chunks of well-loved kitchen appliances. An oven, complete with still baking muffins, a kitchen island coated in flour and an industrial sized mixer. "Sister, PURITY!" Shouts Eline. Del catches herself; chunks continue to apparate from other dimensions, but have now become mirror-shined blocks of gold. The chunks of otherworldly substance stack in front of the double doors, separating Guess? from the rest of the group! Your goblin captain eyes the blocks, and is confident that a well placed shot with his rifle could probably destroy one of the five foot cubes. So that's two stacks of three cubes filling up the space in front of the doors. So you could destroy the top block and fly through the gap or destroy three and walk through the gap.

A third guard sprints into the corridor from the bridge, breathing heavily and brandishing a rifle with bayonet before stepping defensively in front of the Vice President. One of the other guards bravely fires his rifle up at Akh while the other grits his teeth then lobs the grenade under Akh's impending doom.

He starts the cone in front of him and aims it down to catch green, yellow and pink. Sadly its only 15ft so even at full spread it can't also catch Eline.

Jaraduk is able to stay on his feet and minimize his exposure to the opposing grenade blast. That they're evening using his own tactics on him irritates him.

He draws one to "cook" for several moments before throwing it into their midst to explode, mid-air, at the last moment.

GM Is there a way to catch YELLOW and GREEN but NOT Akh in a grenade radius? I've marked my radius on the map showing this intent. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll back it off 5ft to avoid Akh (and also Yellow/Green)

To be fair if Akh disrupted Del's spell there are no cubes so that's a crit on one of the enemies!

Interesting, this thread has stopped showing updates for me in the Campaign tab! Sorry about that!

Akh swipes out at his once-ally and disrupts her reality-warping - knocking her on her back! I can't find anything on whether or not Infinite Worlds actually causes AoOs, but it seems pretty spell-like. The cubes of appliances and golden obstacles fade away into nothingness before becoming fully rooted in this reality. Just as the cubes disappear, Guess?'s shot launches through the gap and into the guard's throat! Akh coats all of the guards in electrical energy while looking extremely cool doing it. Eline stutters a response back, starting to get worried. "I-I-I... just needed to slow down your compatriots! The heretic can succeed for only a short time, for ours is infinity!"

Melissa continues to encourage the group while taking tear-stricken shots of her own. Jaraduk is sucked backwards by the miniature black hole, but manages to exert through the force to throw his own grenade that decimates the kalistocrat forces. One of the guards falls unconscious from the shrapnel impact.

She mutters ritual words and glowing runes appear in the air in front of her then zip towards Akh, where they explode. "Without faith, all are left confused." She cast Confusion! Melissa and Akh, give me a DC 22 Will save!

The guard caught in the blast goes slackjawed, his rifle nearly falling from his grip.

It would have been quite the ignoble end to have Melissa attempt to skewer Akh only to be Full Attacked into ribbons...

Akh strikes the guard beneath him then his eyes begin to swirl with error codes. Jaraduk bounces a grenade around a corner, which explodes on Eline. Jaraduk, I'll allow this one but watch your Line of Sight. Right now you just threw a grenade through two different walls in order to hit those two.

Jaraduk prepares for an ill-timed hug from the grieving Melissa, only to receive a suspiciously well-placed bayonet to the shoulder.

Eline pulls out a small golden globe. "Feel the stinging force of entropy!" Not realizing how closely she references Akh's own belief system, she lobs the grenade. It cracks just beneath Akh, releasing a cloud of fist-sized hindering microbots that fill the area around him. These do damage when you leave their area, do damage to everyone in their area on Eline's turn, grants harrying fire against you and grants covering fire to anyone attacked by you. From the other side of the corridor, visible only to Akh, Del begins to mutter in her own confused state. She purses her lips and whispers, "I just wish I could come up with such cool catch phrase one liners..." then shouts "You must think you're... rich!" A decadent, creamy, rich strawberry frosting begins to gush from a hundred different portals that appear in the corridor intersection. It coats the walls, floor, and fills the air around the confused guard and Akh. Difficult terrain! "No, sister! Fill the air with molten gold! Not this sugary treacherous sin!" Gotta love high level play (and with grenades and witchwarpers...). We have four areas of effect on the battlefield. Purple = Jaraduk grenade, Yellow = Difficult Terrain, Blue (under the yellow) = Microbots, Red = Black hole.

Can't AoO unless I'm already dedicated to attacking a target. BTW, Akh has Uncanny Agility so he's immune to covering and harrying fire from the microbots.

Akh mitigates the first successful attack against him, nullifying the arc of plasma, but gets slightly burned and poked at by a second beam and the microbot assault. (7 and 3 damage after resists/DR) Akh's fuzzy circuits draw a straight line in red thread between the microbots and Eline, and he needs no further deeper thought. He flies over the head of the green guard and swipes at Eline using his extended reach.

Yeah, I believe the black hole just pulls your back each round. So you can spend a move action and escape it. If y'all hadn't gotten in Eline's face quite so quickly, she would have difficult terrain'd the black hole area and really made your lives tough.

I'd forgotten that first one, and didn't realized that about Uncanny Agility! Good to know.

Eline's magic plays havoc with the crew as Jaraduk and Melissa lay bruised in the center of her vortex. Akh, still affected by the magic, manages to push through the wall of fog to slash into Eline!

Jaraduk pushes through the mess left behind by Del's summons and blows up Eline and her guard. In the other hall, Akh pushes through Eline's mental pressure. The force slows his blows, allowing the guard to barely deflect them. As the microbots swarm ineffectually over Akh's spine, the guard continues to land plasma shots into Akh's chest. The electricity sparks between the android's soft spots, searching for a hole in the armor.

I don't recall exactly what all the aoe circles are but Guess? just double moved through all of them. If any of them are reflex save-related, then Guess? has evasion.

This singular guard really needs to cool it on the attack rolls. First hit is so little damage that I would have mitigated the second hit. Taking 4 after resists.

In the other corridor, Guess? sets his rifle to Stun (for the first time?) and hits Del in the neck. Perhaps from the shock of this action, perhaps from the mystifying spell, Melissa decides it's a good time to bonk herself in the head.

Eline sighs. "Thank you, good and faithful servant." She turns heel and flees from Akh's confused but brutal stroke. For sure taking an AoO here... Her back presses against the durasteel of the bridge doors and a green mist emits from her hands to reach out to both Akh and the final guard. Both combatants' HUDs flash warning lights. MEDIUM RADIATION LEVELS DETECTED Pass a DC 21 Fortitude check or contract Radiation poisoning!

A burst of holy light emits from the kalistocrat guard, purifying him of the radiation and protecting him from the spell. Not gonna lie, these kalistocrats appear to have Plot Armor.

From just five feet away, Del shakes off the impact of Guess?'s blow. "Your false mercy does not move me, Stranger!" And yet... her face does not reflect the power of her words... Del throws a ball of acid at Guess? that misses and hisses into the wall of the corridor.
