Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Fentar stops just before the deck, and barely catches a glimpses of the hobgoblin hiding beneath the desk, but with the improved cover the narrow slit at the bottom provides here, his attack misses.
And Telda begins chanting a spell.
Turn Order:
1. Kelleran
2. TELDA!!
3. Fentar
4. Rogarc
5. Jaako
Telda: -3
That brings up everyone again- she is behind/beneath the desk- from the front or sides she has improved cover (+8 to AC) and from the back she has ordinary cover (+4 AC)

![]() |

If there is no sign that the desk is attached to the floor, Fentar will pick it up (or drag it if it is more than 520lbs) and throw/dump/drag it to the other end of the room.
If it appears fixed to the floor, he will smash the desk with his sword.
full round action to strike unattended object so auto-hits.
damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 4) + 12 = 19

Jaakko rushes forward and swings the hobgoblin with flail.
+1 flail: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Rogarch moves towards the sound of combat attempting to strike at the hobgoblin caster. She begins to rage.
Longsword,Rage,Guidance,PA: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 13
Damage,Rage,PA: 1d8 + 6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 3 + 3 = 13
Miss chance due to fog 1-20% miss: 1d100 ⇒ 51
Helping Hand taps her for luck for the following round of combat (Guidance).
I do not know if the caster is prone now due to the fact that she was hiding beneath the table.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

She was squeezing rather than prone, but with the desk removed is now not squeezing either
Fentar tosses the desk aside, clearing away her cover!
Rogarc narrowly misses, and Jaako too misses striking her!
Kelleran cannot identify the spell- but she is still casting full round, not standard to cast
Turn Order:
1. Kelleran
2. TELDA!!
3. Fentar
4. Rogarc
5. Jaako
Telda: -3
Pending Kelleran before Telda finishes

![]() |

Kelleran moves forward to see his target and launches a missile from his wand.
Wand of MM: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I hope she fails the concentration. That is all I was hoping to do really. Due to concealment, I don't think I could get a sneak attack on her. However, with wand and rapier out, I provide a flank bonus if we live that long.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

concentration: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Kelleran's spell causes her to lose her summon monster spell.
Concentration to cast Defensively: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
She defensively casts Cause Fear targeting Rogarch. DC 15 Will or become frightened for 1d4 rounds; shaken 1 round on save
Turn Order:
1. Kelleran
2. TELDA!!
3. Fentar
4. Rogarc
5. Jaako
Telda: -5
That will bring everyone up again.

![]() |

Rogarch tries to resist the fear effect.
Will,Rage,Guidance: 1d20 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 11

Helping Hand |

Helping Hand attempts to protect his master from the magical assault but is unable to.
Will save vs Cause Fear via Share Will: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4
@GM Oxnard - Now they are both Frightened for 1d4 rounds. :)

![]() |

Rogarch looks at Helping Hand and she moves away with Helping Hand in her pocket.
rounds Frightened: 1d4 ⇒ 1
(If she can take the Withdraw action she does otherwise she double moves out of the room and back into the previously cleared room.)

![]() |

Jaakko slips behind the desk and tries to attack from position the spellcaster has harder time defending herself.
+1 flail: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Round 2
Fentar cracks Telda hard as Rogarc flees and Jaako misses.
Round 3
Casting Defensively: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (7, 6) + 4 = 17
And with a quick touch, she inflicts Fentar!
Turn Order:
1. Kelleran
2. TELDA!!
3. Fentar
4. Rogarc
5. Jaako
Telda: -29
Fentar: 14/31
That brings up everyone again- Kelleren I don't think you acted at the top of round 3 so you can act for 3 and 4 (everyone else for 3

![]() |

Jaakko gasps in horror as Fentar is struck by spell and swings hard.
+1 flail: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

![]() |

The feeling of fear suddenly drains from Rogarch's body but the rage remains. She stomps back into the room to attempt to stick it to the necromancer.
Attack,Rage: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 6 + 2 = 19
Damage,Rage: 1d8 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 3 = 14
Miss chance, Fog 1-20% miss: 1d100 ⇒ 92
Everyone has been forgetting to roll the miss chance for the fog. That applies to the Necromancer's touch attack as well. :)

Helping Hand |

The little scorpion is still terrified. He climbs out of Rogarch's pocket and hides in a corner in the previous room.
Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31
(I rolled a 3 for rounds of fear for Helping Hand but it was swallowed by the system.)
@GM Oxnard - I have no idea how far away you have to move with the Frightened condition but trying to hide and move away for a tiny creature makes a lot of sense.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

oh I forgot there was a miss chance for within 5 ft as well
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 60
frightened causes you to flee as quickly as you can, so reasonably that would be a withdraw full move for 12 squares away requiring a full move back before you could swing again
The fog causes Fentar to miss, and Jaako misses the nimble hobgoblin. Rogarch rushes back (will use this hit on your next action).
just pending Kelleren’s actions now.

Helping Hand |

@Oxnard - I moved my familiar off the map as he is still frightened and full moving away from the necromancer for now. At least he gets to pick his movement (as he is not panicked) so he should be able to retrace his steps and not fall into any unexplored traps and such.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Kelleran's magic missiles slam into the Hobgoblin necromancer, but she persists and tries to respond:
Casting Defensively: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Touch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 3
Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16
But her own fog causes her to miss!
Pending Fentar next before Rogarch's attack hits.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Fentar misses, and then Rogach's hammer comes down and finishes the necromancer!
As you search her, she is carrying: scroll of bane, scroll of lesser restoration, scrolls of cure moderate wounds (2), wand of inflict light wounds (19 charges); masterwork light wooden shield, masterwork morningstar, 8 onyx gems (each worth 25 gp), silver unholy symbol of Urgathoa, spell component pouch, 99 gp
There are also in the room several pounds of rare herbs!
You return to find the caravan safe where you left it. The necromancer destroyed, the attacks on the caravans come to an end. The rest of your journey goes smoothly, and you've cleared the way to let more Sczarni caravans through this way!
And that my friends is the end!
