BTW GM: Forgot to mention. Up to you if animal companion goes on my turn or separate. Some GM's prefer one way, some the other, and I have no preference. I only see it making much difference if the AC has a much higher init modifier than the PC. But even then, it will probably often have to wait for orders anyway.
To the rest of you, I have a wand of Cure Light Wounds that I am more than willing to share with the group. So don't get too worked up if we don't have much innate healing available.
Since some of you are new, either to PFS or PbP, I've been doing both for quite some time. If you have any questions and/or confusions, let me know and I will do what I can to bring you up to speed. I am sure Nowruz can also provide advice, but the GM usually has enough to do just running the game that I am happy to help out as I can.

Faction: Undetermined (someone said I pick afterwards?)
Hi Bigger Bird, I appreciate any prompts to keep me on board. I noticed you got a posted stat block/link to your animal companion. Could you run me down how I do that step by step for my wolf companion/mount? Also do I need to do something similar for my character anywhere?

The slides he gave are great, but I will run you through step by step.
1) Top of the screen 'My Account' drop-down, click 'Organized Play'2) Give credentials
3) To the right of 'bono_bob' click the edit button.
4) Select the profile tab.
5) Select create profile.
6) Pick an avatar image for that PC. Also select a faction. The default is 'Grand Lodge' for someone who is in the Society but not otherwise picking sides in the arguments.
7) Submit
8) Get back in to edit you profile again.
9) The fields labeled 'Race' and 'Class/Levels' will appear under your name when you post in the PbP forums. So I place the following 2 lines in those fields as a quick reference for the GM and party.
Tengu Hunter 1, HP:10/10, AC:16, Touch:12, Flat Footed:14
F:+3, R:+4, W:+2, Init:+2, Perc:+8, lowlight vision
10) The large field labeled 'bono_bob' is where you place all the details about your character. Stats, feats, skills, equipment, etc... You can click on BiggerBird's avatar to see his details for an example.
11) The rest of the fields on this page don't have to be filled, but you can if you want. btw SAVE OFTEN when editing your profile. The forum glitches frequently when you hit save, so you lose what you typed since the last save. Most people will type it all up in something else, then copy paste into the profile.

Your animal companion starts slightly different since it is technically not a PFS character, it is a feature of your character, so it doesn't have a separate PFS number.
1) Top of the screen 'My Account' drop-down, click 'Account Settings'
2) Give credentials
3) Scroll down to the 'MESSAGEBOARD ALIASES' section and click on 'Create New Alias'
4) type in a name for your animal companion.
Continue on with 6) in the previous list above.
The forums will let you change your alias name (or your animal companions) up until you have made 10 posts anywhere in the forums with that alias. Then it is locked in.
The forums will let you change your avatar image as often as you want.
The forums will let you edit your profile info as often as you want/need.
PFS lets you change anything at all about your PC up until you start playing as a 2nd level character. So say you start playing as a wizard. Then you quickly decide that you hate being limited by the few spells in you spellbook, you can completely rebuild him as a paladin (or whatever).

There are 3 very good threads to check out for PbP. You don't have to read the whole threads. Most of the info is in the first couple of posts.
The first one especially is a good primer.
Ok, that is a lot. I will let you digest that for a bit. If you have further questions, ask away.
Edit: just noticed the other questions about the text. Down toward the bottom of the page "How to format your text" click the 'Show' button.

bono_bob, I see you created your alias without an avatar. It's a bit tricky to add one in later, so here's the steps to do it:
1. Find the 'My Account' link at the top right of the page.
2. When you hover over it, a dropdown will appear.
3. Click on 'Account Settings.'
4. Sign in with your e-mail address and password.
5. On the settings page, go to the section 'Messageboard aliases' and click 'Edit' for Rodric.
6. Next to 'Avatar Image,' click 'Change'
7. A selection of available avatars will come up, which can be filtered by various categories, such as race, gender, and class.

At the bottom left of the window where you type your text, it says 'Post As' followed by your name. Just click on the arrow next to your name there, and you'll see a drop-down that allows you to choose another alias.

Hello, I have concluded this isn't for me at this time. I appreciate everyone's patience but there are too many factors working against me to get me flowing into this play by post + pathfinder society. I think it is really cool and well thought out, but I don't think I am cut out for it. I have all these cool build ideas, but they are scattered across so many pathfinder books and tracking all that and grtting books and getting pbp and doing lots of in character writing was not the "I can do quick turns on my phone inbetween real life" I imagined it to be. Maybe i will try pathfinder society play again in the future.
