Ok, I've removed Braggi from the tower map and placed him on the battlements on the Shadowed Keep Ground Floor map.

Scanning the courtyard, Braggi sees no sign of the bandit. Quickly turning to check outside the keep, he sees the swaying of prairie grass and tree branches moving away from the road(marked).
I left Zupon on the Tower map, just standing next to the door, which would be adjacent to Braggi.

Trying her best to recall the general state of the supposed "explosion room" before Reithic had abruptly stepped inside of it, Chigao decides that since she and Zupon managed to get Bareli into a conversational mood, things might be safe enough to where they could step inside the half-orc's "kitchen" to continue that conversation.
Re-sheathing her drawn sickle, the Young Kunoichi lass tentatively asks, "Bareli, well-met... under the circumstances; I'm Chigao and the other person you're speaking to is Zupon- may we step inside to your kitchen?"
If Bareli gives her consent, then Chigao will enter the kitchen to the position upon the first floor map; if disallowed to enter Bareli's kitchen , Chigao will remain by the door with no weapons drawn.
Regardless of her placement by the door or within the Kitchen, Chigao will continue on with, "There might be someone that didn't get blown up down below... but in all fairness, he did shoot at us first with a crossbow; my apologies if he was a friend of yours. Is there somebody in charge of this tower that we could talk to- maybe to help square things away?"

A large spear thrusts at Xephkiel as he circles around the stairs, impaling the angelic bartender, exiting his backside and almost striking Andru as well. To track him at this point will take you seriously out of the tower combat range; you can do it, but you have ~3 rounds of movement to get to the point where you have to start making tracking checks to see where he went into the woods.

And things were going along so peacefully! Chigao thought to herself as she mentally steeled herself against the scalding hot... stew[?] that had splashed upon her skin and clothing, causing minor burns to her person. Managing to avoid serious damage from thrown rubble and crossbow bolts only to have gotten some minor burns from parlaying with the enemy in the kitchen; Master Fisnaeth would never let me hear the end of it if he were to hear of this somehow! Fighting Defensively as a Standard Action
You can choose to fight defensively when attacking. If you do so, you take a –4 penalty on all attacks in a round to gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC until the start of your next turn.
Total Defense
You can defend yourself as a standard action. You get a +4 dodge bonus to your AC for 1 round. Your AC improves at the start of this action. You can’t combine total defense with fighting defensively or with the benefit of the Combat Expertise feat. You can’t make attacks of opportunity while using total defense.
So, using the first, you would still get your attack applying the mods.

far as I understand it. Big spear user at the very top of the stairs. Just almost killed our Deva buddy. Angry Cook on the 2nd floor (Chigao is currently engaged). We had one escape through the 2nd floor left door. and most likely jumped down and has full run away. (either out into hte woods or further in. We do not know. We have a guest who we may or may not be able to trust with chigao whome they freed earlier. There is a goblinkin in the basement that was locked with said guest and still remains locked up. So. We can't really hunt the runner. So we got spear user+whoever is up there as well. And Kitchen Nightmare with evil gordon ramsey. Which I think the latter is closest to Braggi for combat. Although I think it would take your full turn to get back assuming you went onto the ramparts like I assumed.
The door on the first lfoor leads the couryard. Its the one we burned down slowly.

Chigao, do you still want to make the attack?
Thank you, DM rel20 [and Zupon in the Discussion thread], for the various clarifications on both Total Defense and Fighting Defensively; although it is tempting to retcon drawing a dagger instead of the sickle, it'll probably better to keep with Chigao's original action of drawing her sickle and going Total Defense for her action. :)
Seeing that her shouting has bought in both Braggi and Andru into the kitchen area, Chigao keeps her MW sickle steadily held in a defensive rather than offensive position for the time being.
If Bareli stays put to where she is standing at now, I may just have to use a thrown dagger instead...
Going for Total Defense [AC 19 due to the +4] to finish up her action after drawing out the sickle; next round is Chigao awaiting to see what Bareli does next.
