Chupon sounds cute~
Seems like a fine name for a familiar [or something very similar to them]. ;)
| Chigao Waiyo |
Xeph moves forward through the slop but finds the kitchen difficult to move around. Berali takes her cleaver and demonstrates her chopping action as Chigao moves in:
The square blade strikes to the bone, adding ninja blood to the viscera on the aged blade.
"She-devil? Why? Afraid I'm going to filet you and feed it to her?"
She then makes a horizontal swipe, blood spraying off the blade in a wide arc:
Ruh-roh. I assume that hits?
Attempting to use both the distraction provided by Braggi, in addition to the sudden physical presence and positioning provided by Xephkiel's latter entry, Chigao makes the understandable rookie error of trying to ferret out any further information from Bareli instead of leaning into her personal defensive agility.
The duo chastising follow-up strikes from the Half-Orc Cook easily fells the novice Kunoichi Lass with two very meaty squelches and thunks as Chigao unceremoniously falls to the ground in an unconscious heap.
Bareli definitely did hit on both times; Chigao is now unconscious at -2 hit points. On the brighter side, it was high time that Chigao took her fair share at getting downed for this combat phase [also forgot about avoiding the AoO's with acrobatics but getting acquainted with the death and dying rules is good too ;)] plus it had helped to highlight how deadly a Cook could be within her territory. ;p

Small rooms are not good for getting to downed folks...Cant stand somewhere safe. Nor are there enough open square to drag Chigao anywhere. Don't do enough damage probably to help out. Someone else has the last Salve. So. Hey. Lets provoke!

Wonder if that means everyone's relatively safe for the moment with Bareli's physical communion with Xeph's fencing-stab/Braggi's shield-toss. ;)

Awesome roll there, Zupon :) With the 11 points of healing provided, that should bring Chigao's hp total up to 8, taking into account for the -3 negative hps from earlier.
Waking back up from her prone positioning upon the powdery kitchen floor, Chigao distinctly recalls having no recollection of actually falling down upon due to the overwhelmingly sharp pain of being subjected to two near-consecutive cleaver attacks. I should've tried to dodge those attacks instead of uselessly parleying for some further intel! If Master Fisnaeth could see me now, he'd never let me hear the end of it...
Sitting up with a strained groan of effort under her breath, the Young Kunoichi Lass sees Zupon lingering next to her nearby the overturned cauldron while the still-injured, blood-stained Scholar is busily placing his healing implements back into order. "Zupon, you healed me back up...?"
Chigao is about to inquire further about what had occurred in the kitchen before she finally notices Bareli's still form laying down prone nearby- all covered in a thin coating of powder. "What... happened with Bareli? Last I remembered, she really got me good with her attacks."
Wiping away any powdery substances from her eyes and face, Chigao will then ask Zupon, "Will you be able to heal up your own injuries there or do you require any assistance with that?"
Would Chigao recognize what the powdery substance is, DM rel20? Regardless if she does or not, Chigao will check Bareli's body for any hidden items secreted on her person.

With the taste of powdered flour fresh upon her lips, Chigao- if she finds nothing else of interest upon Bareli's person [such as more alchemical surprises]- will accompany Zupon [and possibly even Braggi] up the staircase to help Andru and Xephkiel in dealing with the "She-Devil" upstairs.
Right before the Young Kunoichi Lass heads up the winding stairs though, she'll call out to Reithic [if he's still inside the room with the 3 downed bandits] with, "Reithic, we've dealt with the cook in the kitchens... if you still feel the need for a bite to eat; all of the remaining bandits are upstairs, it seems- you're welcome to join with us in dealing with them!"
Perception to see if Reithic is still in the room: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12. Regardless if Chigao spots Reithic or not and irregardless of his answer/silence, she'll still head up the stairs to help the others without waiting to see if he'll join up with us or not.

Moving quickly past Andru, the Young Kunoichi Lass spots Xephkiel bleeding profusely after being stabbed by the Tall, Large-sized She-Devil.
Spotting what appears to be some kind of canine directly to the south atop of the open stairway, Chigao opts to veer directly south-easterly in a diagonal next to the well to avoid getting flanked by the canine as she engages in melee with the She-Devil.

I went ahead and labeled stairs to try to add some clarity/point of common reference. To go up, follow the path that ascends in numbers. Note that the "2nd" step is visible from above. At least that's what we'll use going forward. Note that blue is now down after Xeph's attack, so I marked the token accordingly as well. PS. I stand corrected about the size of our red-haired warrior foe. Also, thanks for the extra staiway/map clarifications as well. ;)
Chigao, if she was able to safely move next to the well in a conscious manner, will look over the Red-haired "She-Devil"- who didn't seem quite so huge in comparison to Xephkiel himself- and coldly mention to her, "You're going to need another cook."
Chigao would most likely be shorter at 5'1", compared to the Red-haired Warrior, but would that Warrior "She-Devil" be as tall as [or taller than] Xeph is normally? ;p

My weird head-canon for that little bit is when Xeph went up the stairs, the Red-haired Warrior was either brushing off some soot from Andru's flamethrower after backing off [or had suddenly experienced a loss in her giant form and had to move to where she could make her attack] and the canine had to be dragged back into its' present location by the bandit below it after running away from the fire. Xeph sees that the Blue Bandit is closest of all three and attacked accordingly. :)

I believe if I want to get to the top left corner, near the fallen, it would take my whole move. Meaning I cannot take an acrobatics attempt to avoid AOO due to that requiring half my movement speed. So. Zupon will just do his best to get to Xeph's side for next round. There is functionally nothing I can do for Xeph other than to be another target.. Level 1 doesn't have a lot of tools yet~

Ok, going to try to pull everyone's actions back in order:
Round 21
Xeph 20 - raced up, attacked, and went down from a readied action.
Bandits 6
Zupon 21 - total defense and moves
Braggi 11 - delays
Chigao 20 - attacks red-head and misses
Andru 4 - moves
Reithic runs up the stairs, following the group, his malnourished face red with anger, "Come here you bastards! I'll show you what you get for taking my stuff!!!"
flail @ red-head: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Loud thuds resonate wildly as Reithic strikes the roof top.
@Andru - are you sure about your location? That would trigger several AoO to get there, while also standing adjacent to 2 enemies.

I want to confirm Andru's move since that seems suicidal before the baddies go...

Ah, in that case, Chigao's previous movement actions was as follows:
- 1. Started at the 1st Stair on the 2nd Floor.
- 2. Moved east to the 2nd Stair on the 2nd Floor.
- 3. Moved south to the 2nd stair upon the Roof
- 4. Moved south to the 3rd stair on the Roof.
- 5. Moved southeast to be directly southward of the Red-Haired Warrior.
I could retcon the movement of # 5 to where Chigao moved south to the canine and then moved west to her present position under the Red-Haired Warrior, if it'll make things better in determining the AoO actions of the Warrior and the canine.
PS. Good to know about the Warrior's present height though. ;)

With nary a moment to waste, Chigao moves 10' northeasterly onto the rubble-strewn floor directly opposite of where Reithic is positioned nearby, parallel to the Redhead Warrior upon the western side. Once again putting trust into her agility to avoid any opportune attacks, Chigao attempts another attack upon the now-flanked Red-Haired Warrior once more.
