Omae...
It's Seattle in 2060, and things are darker than ever before. The world's gone to drek in a handbasket, if that basket's woven out of tainted soy and rotting dreams. The Big D's gone, and so is most of Chicago, and what's left belongs to the bugs. The Arcology's closed up tighter than an exec lost in the Barrens 'n surrounded by a Troll biker gang... yet somehow, the rich and powerful manage to keep their wealth and power, and ain't none of it dripping down to you, no matter what D's will said. Heck, even the urban legends are forced to ask for help...
...and that's where you come in. Time to earn your cred, chummer.
F Elf Hermetic Mage Condition: Unimpaired
I think I missed an important piece of the setup. Will refigure it tonight. Sorry, everyone.

Tilnar, how far from Jay up to the roof? Thinking about returning the favor of a grenade.

Throwing manabolt at him.
[dice=Sorcery Test, 6 skill, 6 pool, Force 5, vs target's Will]12d6
[dice=Exploding]#d6
[dice=Drain resistance, Target 5/2=2, Light]6d6+6d6
So if I remove the last 3 dice from each pool row, I've got 3 each which totals six, and I'm OK?
Sorcery test would be 9d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 2, 5, 4, 4, 6, 2), Drain resistance 6d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 2, 1, 5) + (3, 6, 2) then.

Are you casting a Serious Manabolt or a Deadly one?
Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Jay: It's about 4m from the last landing to the roof. You'd need to arc it, so your throw would look more like a 5-6m toss
F Elf Hermetic Mage Condition: Unimpaired
I read Drain Level without grokking what it really was. OK, going with Deadly, since we really don't need him in the picture. So the Drain Level is Deadly, and I don't see any Drain Modifiers that apply.

Technically, you should pick the punch of your spell before knowing your drain roll (, but I'll allow it. So, now, if you have even 1 net success, dude's having a drek day.
Ok, dude's got Will 4 -- and while you can only see half of him, that's unobstructed -- that is, he's not crouched behind the half-wall and just poking over, because he didn't expect anyone to *actually* be there. So, as I said, drek day for him.
Will: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 1) = 18 Wow. 3 successes. Not bad. Sadly for him, some mean nasty wiz threw a deadly spell with *4* successes. I guess, on the plus side, there's no staging up overdamage?
The man who dropped the grenade suddenly lurches forward -- wait, no, that's him collapsing. Sadly, he's not quite top-heavy enough to go over the wall -- but he's not in anyone's way anymore, either.

Raptor looks wide-eyed at Onyx. Note to self - don’t cross her over Sunday dinner.
He carefully ascends the ladder to peer over the top.
F Elf Hermetic Mage Condition: Unimpaired
If I understand the situation, there's a live grenade on the grated platform above me, so I'm going to beat feet down the ladder and duck/cover.
How near am I to the grenade?
Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Danny - you and Jay are about 1 or 2 meters away. Figment's lagging a little behind on the stairs.
Male Human
Huddled in his coat, Jay misses the awesomeness that is Onyx. And he might not have drawn the proper conclusion if he had seen it. His brain is working on other things right now, like how there might be time to do something about that grenade.
Doesn't Jay go at 1 in second inititative pass? His original intiative roll was 11.
Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
He does. Onyx's delay from the first pass is likely the confusion

We don't at the moment. Of course, you won't be able to see anything until you pop up.
Male Ork Street Samurai
Well, let’s see how this goes.
Raptor pops up, ready to spray his target with his SMG.
Should I go ahead and roll, or is this going to end as badly as I think it is?

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Sorry, everyone. I didn't see this post and have been busy enough to just now go.. 'hey, waitaminute...'
Raptor pops up to see a relatively expensive looking decking chair about 20 meters to the left -- or the back of it, at least -- at the other edge of the building. A quick glance notes a hand and some sort of electronic equipment - but you see nothing else of the person in the chair. Behind the chair are a number of hard cases, lined with foam - not unlike those he'd seen roadies pack gig equipment into in the past. Between two of these, pushing against them, is a small, tracked drone which is the source of the noise. It resembles a small military tank - but the rotating tribarrel (the source of the whine) on the turret makes it clear that this isn't a child's toy. At the moment, the barrel seems to have caught some of the packing materials and is trying to pull its way free of one of the packing cases.
Male Ork Street Samurai
Seeing his opportunity, Raptor proceeds - rushing in at the gun-bot and trying to tackle it so that it cannot aim at him or his companions.
Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Ok, that's Unarmed Combat -- in the end you need to have more successes than the drone's quickness -- and be strong enough to pin it. Because it's currently stuck, and your strength, you might be able to flip it over -- it can probably right itself, if you let it go, though - it's not a Dalek. However, if you pin and flip and stay there, you'd likely be able to keep pushing/turning it so that the turret can't focus on you or your companions.
Male Ork Street Samurai
Let's do it! I'm not sure if that's just Strength or Martial Arts. I'm going to roll both so as not to delay the game - use whichever is appropriate.
Raptor rushes and tries to topple to turret.
Strength: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 2, 3, 1, 1, 3, 3, 1) = 26

Raptor rushes forward and grabs the pinned drone, pushing its turret even deeper into the hardcase, using the momentum to flip the whole thing over.

You can see the back of an expensive-looking decking chair, but the chair is large enough that it completely covers its occupant -- though from its position, there's definitely weight in the chair.
Could I use Distance Strike to tip the chair forward by pulling out the base?
Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Distance Strike is basically a punch - you don't think that you could punch the chair over - but you could try to punch through it (or go around to get a better view)
Alright - it's CHAIR PUNCHIN' TIME!
Danny closes his eyes, and a faint blue nimbus forms around his left fist. Suddenly, he snaps his arm forward
Distance Strike (martial arts): 6d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 2, 6, 5) = 24

That's 4 successes. Normally, dude would get to try to dodge, but he's in no shape to do that at the moment. Your damage scales up from Moderate to Deadly. Are you doing an elemental strike on this?

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Danny winds up and throws a two-fisted punch at the air, which seems to shimmer and move in response to the attack, carrying the force of it into the chair, and the person within.
Damage Resist (Body and Combat Pool): 4d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 3) + (4, 2) = 25
You hear a dull thump, not wholly unlike that of someone pounding on a door, and the whole chair moves a little, and you hear a grunted curse - though while the figure is hurt, it doesn't fall out as the armoured chair takes the brunt of the attack.
Figment quickly pops up after Danny's attack and fires a burst from his SMG at the target.
SMG: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 5, 4) = 19 3 successes, scales up to 10D, but the 6 ballistic from the chair brings it down to 4D
Damage Resist (Body and Combat Pool): 4d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 1) + (2, 4) = 17 Would be 2 successes, but the light from Danny's punch brings the target to 5. So, no scaling. Rigger takes a deadly.
The burst slams into the chair and suddenly the drone in Raptor's hands stops pushing back and twisting in his grip, even as the figure in the chair slumps to the right -- and drops the remote-control deck to the ground.
Out of combat.
Male Human
Jay clambers over the parapet lining the roof and surveys the damage. "You guys made that look easy. Figment, does that console have a live feed?"
Male Ork Street Samurai
Raptor tosses the drone aside. ”My backup arrived just in time.” He grins at Danny and Figment.
Danny shakes his hand. "Man, I need to do more bag work"
Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Figment shrugs, "Wouldn't have been so easy if we were dodging drone fire... or his bodyguard. Good team effort."
He starts walking toward the chair, then stops, "Wait. Tripwires. Glad none of us rushed him."
Male Ork Street Samurai
Raptor grits his teeth and looks out for the traps.
Is this something I can disarm with my knowledge of security tech, or is it a different skill set?
Male Human
"Traps and tricks. Suppose his deck is rigged for mayhem too?" Jay remains near the roof's edge. He looks back down the fire escape. "Fight's over 0nyx. It's safe to come up."
Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060
Figment shrugs, "Reckon it might be, though I don't think it's a cyberdeck... Probably a normal Remote Control Deck."
Male Ork Street Samurai
"Was this the one we were after? Just see what we can grab and message job well done?" Raptor asks.
