Retired to Taldor?

Cautiously moving along the hallway Seamus opens the second door and finds the pit, Pausing for a moment, he gags a little, "what is that stink?" Turning back to the others, "Could someone give us some light?"

As they stand and look at the the freshly dug hole. "I think we found the 'restoration project Foxglove was working on."

Looking down the spiraling stairs Seamus asks, "Does this remind anyone of the image the blue-green mold had 'grown'?"

after any conversations
Drawing his long knives, Seamus mumbles. "I think I 'd rather explore the attic." Once everyone was ready he turns and asks Val, "Hey Val, could you keep your dancing lights near the front for me?" Once the lights are in place he begins moving down the ancient stairwell, keeping a very keen eye out.

Kast moves down with his be-lit bardiche to give light to Seamus.

”I’m coming Seamus,” Kast echoes, picking his way down. ”Ayep, it does remind me of the mold. Who do? You do. Remind me of the mold.”

”I’ll take point if you want it ‘Mus,” Kast offers, and also offers a Magic Circle from Evil.

Izomandakus nods in agreement "In fact we are exactly below the mold ground right now" he draws the staff and looks down the stairs.

Then looks back to Kast's special leg "Leyre's book had some magic written that would help you do this" the boy looks around at the walls for some seconds until he peeks a small spider and softly takes it between his hands.

Smiling, Izomandakus chants подъем паука and leaves the spider in Kast's leg "The spider shall help you stick easily so you can move even through vertical walls Kast"
Kast gains spider climb for 50 min

Pachemu looks up at the boy "Sorry, can only do it once. But you have four times more stability, do not complain pig"

The pig turns away and follows Seamus down the scary pit.

You climb carefully down the spiral staircase. The stairs end in a limestone cavern.

The walls drip with moisture, and swaths of black and dark blue mold grow in spiraling, tangled patterns on the floor, ceiling, and walls. Rubble and broken bones clutter the floor, and a rhythmic sound - like the breathing of some immense creature - echoes through the cave from three tunnels, one to the north and two to the west. Of the two western tunnels, the southernmost one seems to be a relatively new creation - as in the last few months at least.

”Uh, thanks Izo,” Kast says, uncertain.

Kast seems initially disturbed by Izo’s spell as he’s much more comfortable on his two feet (twisted as one is) to want to try something new and untested, yet…he tries. He tries crawling down the stairs and on the walls until he is used to it.

It’s clear he doesn’t like it, but it was as gift freely offered and he would try. For Izo.

He climbs on the walls (5’ up) and stick his lit bardiche down the southern hallway.

Retired to Taldor?

'I would so rather be in the attic.' Moving down the stairs and into the cave, looking at the similar mold growing on the walls, 'At least above ground you might be able to jump out a window.' Nodding as Izomndakus points out they were 'Directly' below the mold spiral. 'That's just icky.

It seemed odd watching Kast clamber on the walls, but Seamus nods, "I don't mind being in front, but if you want it go ahead. And If you think a magic circle would help, I wouldn't mind."

Once everyone is ready Seamus, both feet planted firmly on the cave floor, follows Kast down the, comparatively, newly dug tunnel.

It's complicated Human with a level 16 pig | Character Sheet | (Completed Rise of the Runelords)

Izomandakus nods "I am satisfied the spell works as described" he then turns towards the south and follows Seamus "To the southwest then"

"Caves below mold. This all calls for danger" before entering the tunnel, he casts heroism on himself.

Val is busily and eagerly checking over the collected wine bottles while the others focus on actually advancing.

Lore (wine) on the wine we found: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

She is currently in the middle of trying to remember whether she liked this particular vineyard when Seamus asks her about her lights. ”Oh, certainly. There you go.” She sends them flying up near him and a little ahead, barely taking concentration away from her clearly more important task.

Xin-Shalast - Roll20 Map - Tracking Sheet

Valena recalls the vineyard. It is in fact a quite famous one, or was some time ago. This wine, if not ‘corked’, is likely very smooth on the tongue with a rich aftertaste. It would be a shame to sell it she thinks, though they’re very very valuable. She’s likely not ever had its equal.

You follow the recently dug passage to the southwest along a somewhat lengthy passage. The twisty shapes the mold makes down here boggle the mind a bit, and threaten to twist your eyes into knots.

Eventually you reach a long cave, stinking of rotten meat. The source of the horrific smell is readily apparent - a swath of carcasses are strewn about the floor of this place. Within is a monstrously sized, undead bat with mottled, decayed flesh and eyes that smolder with an unholy green glow.

It turns your way, and attacks!

Maybe old what's his name Foxglove shut up whatever stopped him up there.' Lost in thought, Seamus starts to smell the terrible stench of rotting flesh. Looking through the narrow passageway, he sees the giant mottled decaying Bat. Raising an eyebrow, he blurts out the first thing that came too mind. "Huh, usually you find bats in the attic not the basement."

Coming to his senses he realizes that if the bat gets to the passage way they would only be able to attack it one at a time. Moving past Kast he tells him, we can't let the thing bottle neck us."[/b] Knives in hand, he prepares to use them.

Val moves to carefully put away the bottle of wine in her hand, only to realize that she might spill it in the chaos of battle. Thus could very well be the best wine she has ever had, which is saying something, and losing even a bit of it would be a tragedy. But what to stopper it with? She pats herself all over, noticing the cure potion on her bandolier. Come to think of it, she never actually healed her wounds from that last bout, did she?

”I will be up there in a moment, darlings, to fight the skaven or whatever. Just need a little freshening up.”

She pulls out the potion of cure light wounds and drinks it, transferring the stopper to the bottle. It is a tight fit, but serviceable.

Seamus moves a little forward to try and pin down the bat, though he misses. Valena carefully stows the wine after first quaffing some healing.

In general, I’m fine with retconning healing, but this is more flavorful, so it stands.

The bat, back to the wall, briefly considers squeeze/flying up the shaft behind it (for you see some dripping water from the rain outside and above you), but it apparently decides you might be a tasty treat. It lashes out at Seamus first. And yes, for your AC and saving throw purposes, it is evil.

"Ow! this thing bites har.....ack." Getting bitten again by the giant undead bat, Seamus begins to whine. Just then the thing lets out an unbelievably loud screech. Covering his ears with the heels of his hands until the screech was over. He snarls, "I'm really starting to hate this thing!" He continues moving against the wall trying to get behind the thing, then slashes at the thing with both of his long knives.

Izomandakus avoids the screeching, but can’t land a blow even against the flatfooted bat. Kast does better with his Quill and carves a bit of hair leg right off. Seamus too avoids the screech, but also can’t land a solid hit as a result. Valena, perhaps worried that her wine bottle might shatter, is stunned a moment duration: 1d3 ⇒ 3.

The giant bat, realizing it’s all but beaten, tries to withdraw to safety. Seamus, along side the beast, gets one parting shot (AoO) before it scoots (squeezing) to the shaft and up toward the falling rain and freedom!

As there’s squeezing and the like, the bat is only 10’ or so up the shaft at the end of its round (it’s not fast when not flying freely), so you may all take a ranged attack (-4 cover) or melee with reach if you can get next to it (so pretty much just one of you). Kast, spider walking, can catch up to it I think, providing an AoO next round as he has reach.

Perception DC 18:
You hear the sounds of flappy feet on wet stone and mold coming from behind the party as well - though it’s still a little ways off, a small group of somethings is running fast to catch up.

Izomandakus moves up and takes a parting shot with a globule of acid - hitting and lightly wounding the already heavily wounded creature. Kast double moves to get into position for the AoO. Seamus misses with his AoO, but he does pick up and present Valena’s weapon. Valena remains stunned at the state of events, though she is gradually coming to her senses.

The bat continues to fly-climb up the shaft trying to reach safety, but Kast is there, and Kast is ready. Twirlling the Iron Quill over his head, he stabs the beast as it scurries, and ends it. The bat falls down the shaft, and Kast is able to get out of the way as it collapses in a heap in a deep pool of water.

Unfortunately, you’re not out of the woods yet! From around the corner - ghouls! Three of them come sloughing in your direction. You’ve faced many ghouls already, so what’s three more?
