Hi all!
I'm keen for us all to try to post regularly (aim for once or more per weekday and, at least once on weekends). Whilst adventures can be caught in 'conversation loops' back and forth, I will endeavour to keep things kicking along and get the gist of where a conversation is going and keep us pointed in the right direction.
Work, study, and wild parties in Mexico have a way of getting in the way sometimes and if that is likely please leave a post in advance if you know that you may have limited time/ability to post for a period of time (and when we can expect you back).
On that note, I am posting from Sydney, Australia. Most of you will be posting when I am asleep so when I get up around 0500 odd I usually do the catch up over a coffee, and then usually in the afternoon/evening each day.
I will generally roll Initiative (and any other rolls if really required), but not to shaft anyone or railroad them, more in the interest of giving you some sort of outcome to then respond to - I aim to complete a single round of combat within 24 hours.
When in combat, unless a PC has left botting instructions or made arrangement for another player to bot them, I will place any PC that has not posted within the past 24 hours (48 hours on a weekend) on delay.
If a single skill check has been called for, I will accept the PC with the highest skill bonus as the "primary" and all other attempts by PCs for the same check as aiding another.

I can stay with Rayburn (Geo), or move to an operative (pahtra) if we think we need things like that. I see we have another technomancer...just saying.

Looking at what Quirk has, it is probably better I bring Baurquathus (Bar or Ticcus for short). I need to level him from the return to the Scoured Stars....should be done by this evening or tomorrow. But he is a level 4 operative.
Also, besides skill monkey, we might need to have somebody up there in the very front helping Vomation.

Probably the same heavy workload I am working on (i.e. PaizoCon Online). I am also running Descent into the Verdant Shadows tomorrow for my home group (they don't like the craziness of conventions...even online).
I also need to think on what direction I want to take Bar. Croaker/Farol has been a great help. It seems every system there is exactly 1 class I cannot wrap my head around--or find a way to make it feel like a character. Operative is apparently that. Eventually I will find a right combo/attitude and it will work. IT took me 5 iterations to find a paladin I liked in PF1.....
Vyviane Isafira

You should play with Vyviane sometime! She's my second favorite after Ceolor, what with being an uber confident halfling and setting up characters for her to play through as well.

Looking forward I'm probably looking to kick on with 3-02 Subterranean Safari
The other adventure is only 1-4, but the demand seems to be in the 3-6 space :)

Ok, It might not have been clear from my post. But yeah, I am interested. As long as you intend running games and I have PC's in the range I will be playing with you.
At this point of time I have 3 PC's at Lvl 3, one of them will get to Lvl 4 after the end of the scenario.
Btw. with my Vanguard I will be looking for a team and GM to play 1-06. I heard good things about that scenario, and I wonder how I will play it as an Half-Orc. If someone is interested in joining me (probably by using a replay, unless someone didn't play it) let me know. I already have 1 soul that I recruited to be a player.

So I didn't hear a lot of feedback for my last post but just to keep you in the loop I've got a GM:
And it is no one other than the Dire GM ;) If it changes something for some of you ;)
Spike 'Croaker'

Awesome, I found out in Alien Archive 3 that you can buy yourself a mount ;) So I will be riding on a giant spider :D
I say it a lot at forums, but looking at the people who signed up I am so stoned to play that game, so stoned!

Thanks Shifty for the offer! I would love to play on your table again! This time my selection is limited as it is the only Croaker whom I have available.
But I like to play him so all is good!

Yeah, I saw that.
I could see about getting a level 3 instead and maybe get shunted to the C team. That or find one of my level 6's and actually be powerful enough to be on the big boy team....
I literally have 5-6 characters to choose from (though most are level 5-6, and only a few level 3-4)

I really need to get another one of my level 2 squad into the 3-4 range. I want to start getting Ceolor through the Journey to the Scoured Stars plot line (luckily he has the only 1-4 teir scenario already) but he's my only level 3... Or I could pull out the mercenary vangaurd-medic who has GM and specials boons that boost him to level 3, I forget I have him.

Or maybe we can swap: Keith Smith from team 5 for Jim with Bar? Keith is playing Lvl 5 Envoy which means that he belongs better to a higher tier team. On top of that, he is 2nd Envoy in our team.
Shifty what say you?

For the Record Keith posted on the table A, so Bar can sign up for the table C. Thank you for using your Promoter Croaker to do the swap.
I only take 25% cut on the deal ;)

A SQUAX COMPANION?
Yes!
Thanks Shifty. You always do a great job.
Edit: Just realized I somehow never got around to my reporting data. Gah!
Honestly, it's not really a big deal. I'm not concerned about my day job, and I can pencil in the relevant numbers for my Chronicle sheet.
For your online reporting purposes, Cesar is 278101-703.

Let me start with this. Shifty, thanks for running this game, I enjoy your games a lot and a lot of credit for that goes to you.
Long live Shifty and his magpies companions! Long live! long Live! Crowd is cheering!
I enjoyed the scenario, but I must say that I like the story the least compared to previous Shifty games: 2-15 Infernal Gallery and 2-21 Illegal Shipment.
In a way I was hoping for a bit more information about dragons. So the things that I asked for were of interest for me: how the city might look like, do they fly everywhere, a bit more about their personality etc. etc. Dragons are a bit overloaded, in the way that they are present in every fantasy realm and a crapload of legends. As a result, I tried to create a picture of dragon in starfinder and I don't think I got it.
When it comes to the exploration itself I think it was a bit all over the place. We saw the tower, we saw a bit of a city and mines. But none of it was enough. I don't know if this is only mine perception or not but hey here it is.
All in all I am glad that I played this scenario, I had fun (which is the most important for me), we had couple of good RP moments (a bit less than in previous games :(, but still :)), and Croaker spoke to dragon! And lived to tell stories about it, no one will believe but who cares.
The squox thing - ugh. I like the idea of companion, but why do they push it on a story that has nothing to do with it. The squox had no impact on the scenario, if not for chronicle I would already forgot that there was a squox. It feels a bit out of place, that is all.
@Bar - you had so great rolls this game! Overall I like this PC, good game.
@Ceolor - nothing new to add here. I like your PC, enjoyable to play with. Everything that I wrote in the past comments apply here. Nice one
@Cesar - I played with your Stephen and Brookwillow and I think I have better sense about your other PC's than Cesar of the Red Desert. It could be perception thing, but I couldn't create an image of him in my head. Maybe it requires more than I game. Still thanks for the game it was a pleasure!
@Obo - I am not a big fan of pregens. Mostly as I find it hard to RP as them. Thanks for the game, I like your Rattus more so I am glad that we will play at another table. Thanks mate!
Ok folks, let us head to another table, full of squoxes. I will jump on the opportunity as Croaker and organize illegal Squox races, contest and others - with bets of course as the amount of potential squox owners raised tremendously :D
Live long and prosper!
And again kudos to Shifty for running this table!

Sadly this is one where the backstory has a great proposition, but the nature of the scenario is that you don't get to that 'good content' and the reveals in this outing. I suspect that as the future suggested scenario unfolds you'll find the cool elements and what happened (the crystal back story is actually great), and who knows, you may well get to deal with a Black Dragon (as opposed to fighting the white dragon in another scenario).
I did like the early puzzle pieces though as they offered differing outcomes depending on what you did, and you got to meet the NPCs and go from there.
The Squox took on a whole new dimension as (at least on one table) Navaret dies. Almost everyone chose to rescue Iko first, and on two tables Navaret was only just saved by the final check. The timer is harsh. Table A almost lost Iko as well.
Spike 'Croaker'
|
Yeah, I had was wondering about that. I think like there is more to that story than was shared. And in isolation, this scenario seems a bit like a letdown for me.
To be honest, I was expecting that if crystals drain the starfinders they will raise as enemies, and I would prefer to not face undead Izaalgun ;) So I would also try to save Iko first :D
