Selected my new level 2 spells for levelling up (Touch of Idiocy and Scorching Ray), added +1 to Intelligence for Level 4, selected my level 3 feat (yes, I forgot that! Mock me!), added my Spell focus from level 1 for Pathinder Society wizard (Yes! I forgot that too! Mock me twice!)
Buy
Cloak of Resistance+1 (1000 gp)
2 PP for a CLW wand
2 PP for a Ray of Enfeeblement wand

It's easier to forget feats when you're a full caster; usually you're probably just picking up some boring stat booster feat anyways, like Toughness or Improved Initiative.

Everyone please fill out the information in the Google slide and add a token for yourself and any companions you have. Also, feel free to post introductions in the Gameplay forum. We should be able to start soon.

Day job, Jeweller, Msw Tools, Artisan trait: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 2 + 2 = 25

![]() |

Boy, I'm glad I don't have to read that boxed text out loud. There's quite a lot there.
Also, only three people have filled out the sign in sheet on page 2 of the slides so far. Please fill that in when you can.

Hi! This is Eldon's Garcia player here. Arbiscar is my level 4 PFS character. I guess that's the best fit for lower tier.
Day Job (Heal through Temple Vanity): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
I advance with slow tracking.

![]() |

Thank for including the slow tracking in the spreadsheet. I definitely wouldn't remember that by the end of this scenario.

I read through Magnimar, City of Monuments while preparing book 2 of RotRL some time ago. I could upload a map of the city and the images of the three monuments if you wish so. It is an interesting setting but it was difficult to bring all that detail while playing through the AP.

![]() |

I would be open to that. There might be a city map but I don't think there's images of the monuments provided.

![]() |

Ok, I remembered some monument images, but it seems none of these 3 are on the ones with an image.
I have uploaded though a map of Magnimar and the ones of the districts marking where the monuments are located.
I hope that helps to witness Magnimar in all its glory.

![]() |

That looks wonderful. The scenario didn't actually provide a map of the city, so that is great. Thank you!

Craft (jewelry), traveler's any-tool, day job: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 4 = 10
Sorry about the slides; the forum never showed me an unread post count for the Discussion tab, so I never saw any of these requests.

There is one potion of cure moderate wounds for each PC, and there are two potions of protection from evil, three oils of
magic weapon, and a wand of lesser restoration (7 charges)
Mun has a wand of lesser restoration already; shall he carry this one as well, using it before he taps into his personal wand? He also has a wand of protection from evil, so someone else should carry those potions for sure. He doesn't, however, have a magic weapon, so an oil of magic weapon could be useful if we need magic to beat a DR. He'll carry one of those unless someone objects.

![]() |

Arbiscar will carry one of the oils too.
He can also make use of the restoration wand in case you prefer to split the use of the wand.

This section is an investigation section and has a ton of checks. You'll get a chance to investigate the monument itself, talk to Theodorus, or look at the house but for the sake of my sanity, lets focus on one thing at a time. Since Arbiscar and Kala examined the crowd first, I think starting with interviewing the witnesses would be a good place to start.

I'm off this week end, back Sunday afternoon/evening.

GM, what knowledge skills might help realize how that sickly green flame works and how to stop it?

![]() |

The green fire is a haunt and there's technically no knowledge check to figure out how to disable a haunt. There is a way to do it. You're just going to have to figure it out through trial and error.

I think I forgot to put the fire elemental on the board. Whoever put that on the board for me, thank you. That's exactly where I wanted it to end up.

![]() |

I received a message from someone who wants to play Part II. Honestly, I don't really want to run with seven players and I thought I would check to see if there is anyone not planning on moving forward to Part II for any reason.

![]() |

I am confident I will join for the second part.

![]() |

The player also have a level 7 character, which might push us into the high tier. I think we're just on the edge of it now. Would people be open to having a 7th player that may bring this up to high tier? I'm only considering it because I know how hard it can be to finish a series that you partially started. It took me three years to finish Destiny in the Sands!

![]() |

Mun is already high tier for this series, so would have no complaints. However, if even one low-tier PC is uncomfortable playing up, I would consider that veto over all others.

![]() |

I prefer to avoid 7-player tables, but I am happy to make an exception for a fellow player that really wants to play that one.
As for playing high, I don't mind to run the risk. Arbiscar will be near useless though for skill checks, as he probably will not have the high bonus enough to pass them. He will rely more on others to achieve those things.

![]() |

[...] Arbiscar remains blessed by a golden aura of goodness. [...]
Just in case it matters, I wanted to note Arbiscar follows Abadar's alignment (LN). He has only a Law Aura.

The spirit doesn't change your alignment. Arbiscar would still detect as LN and wouldn't be vulnerable to smite good for example. He just has the penalty to skills and has a visible golden halo surrounding his head.

Wow, so I didn't expect the mummy to get a critical hit on Finnius. And when a creature has Power Attack, I have them use it. Glad it was the fighter and not someone squisher though. I think that hit could have flat out killed a few of you.

![]() |

Honestly, you got crited by a bruiser of a monster. Mummies can do insane damage for their tier. They do have weaknesses though. They only get one slam per turn, so mirror image is really effective. They are also kind of slow, but the cramped quarters kind of nullify that advantage a bit. You can shore up your hit points and AC but it's going to happen. The thing is, you were doing you job by being the one who took the hit instead of someone squishier who could have been flat out killed.

![]() |

And maybe we should have used a better tactic to start with, instead of rushing in and being outnumbered by undead (no offense meant!)

![]() |

I see Mun has +18 UMD- I have the Prestige available that I can snag a wand of Bless Weapon which would give us more charges for pretty low investment?
Assuming we think that "good aligned" and "magic" is what we need on weapons?

![]() |

You won't have time to pick one up in the middle of the session but it would be a good item to have. I usually keep one on my martials.

![]() |

@GM Badblood: Just out of curiosity, what would your GM ruling be on whether the spell Allfood could be used on a weapon being wielded during combat? Asking for a friend...

![]() |

I guess the real question is what is he trying to do with the spell? I am assuming he wants to use it on enemy's as I don't really see what advantage this would give being cast on your weapon.
I mean, its pretty explicit about how it works and all the limitations that it has. It doesn't change the hardness or make the weapon easier to sunder and magic items are explicitly immune to it. An enemy would still get a Will Save to resist the spell and would then need to be disarmed. And then eating it isn't something a human could realistically do in a round. I guess if I had a player who absolutely insisted that their character could eat a longsword I would ask them to demonstrate doing so with an equivalent mass of hotdogs. Four pounds of hotdogs is a lot. Plus eating something would be provoking attacks of opportunity.
I guess the player could say that they are just eating the parts of the weapon that cause damage. 1) The spell is pretty explicit that it doesn't make an item easier to damage. 2) I still feel like it would be pretty time consuming, would still require stealing or disarming the item, and would still provoke AoO.
You could feed the weapon to an animal companion. I could see an animal scarfing down an item a lot faster than a human could. Especially if it was a large animal. They might also have a class feature that allows them to eat things faster or another spell that would synergize with it. If so, then bully for them, there's a lot more straight forward combinations out there.

![]() |

Kala, note we all had a cure moderate wounds potion given by the Venture-Captain. So maybe you managed to heal a bit more from that drinking.

Alright everybody! We are at the end of this scenario! I should have your chronicle sheets ready soon and we can start part 2 sometime next week. It didn't sound like anyone was too opposed to me allowing that seventh player to join in so considering how difficult it can be to be complete a series if you missed a part I think I will invite them. I did see that there was another run of this series recently and he may have secured a spot in that one so it might be a moot point.
