Not that Bless would have helped you on that death save, but remember it if you need to make another.

After seeing the giant tiefling smack Hallvaror to the ground unconscious, Stella rushed forward to help him. Doing what she could in the middle of battle, she managed to stabilize him enough that she no longer feared for his immediate death and began to drag him away from the tiefling towards the back of the room. As she did so she saw Damon tiring in his fight against the two powerful enemies, and using the last of her magic, sent him a small wave of healing energy she hoped would help him last through the fight.

Action: Medicine check to stabilize. Bonus Action: Healing Word to Damon. Movement: Go to Hallvaror to stabilize him.

Sorry Hallvoror giving the healing to Damon since I rolled so low and you wouldn't be able to do any actions next turn after reviving (and you could get knocked down again before you could possibly heal someone)

Stella, if you have a Healer’s Kit, you don’t have to make the Heal Check to stabilize.

The cultist's dark blessing shook the ground...it rose beneath Kokam's feet knocking her to her knees, shaking her very bones until it felt like all were turning to jelly.

Using her training, Kokam regained and somehow maintained standing, but only barely.

Damon reeled from the sonic blast that shook the very earth beneath his feet. Seeing Kokam teeter on her feet and nearly fall, Damon suddenly felt very alone. He knew what he had to do.

"You will not prevail!" he growled at the cultist priest and her muscular bodyguard, reaching out to the tottering monk and willing all the healing energy Iomedae allowed him to flow into her (lay on hands 10 points). He then set his shield and sword in a defensive position and hoped he could defend himself against the oncoming onslaught. "I am the shield against evil," he thinks, praying that his skills were up to the task.

(If our DM would be so kind as to let Damon go before Kokam, his 10 points of healing sent her way could stabilize her enough that she wouldn't take disadvantage on her attacks.)

Stella was rocked to her core as it seemed like the whole world shook. With the pain at first too much to handle she blacked out for a moment but came to a moment later to somehow find herself still conscious, though her allies were struggling as much as she was. Wobbly as she was, Stella managed to somehow conjure an orb of fire in one hand and a orb of starlight in the other and launched them both at the Large tiefling. Unfortunately once again, this time because of her ragged state, her attacks missed thier target. Exhausted at the effort, Stella could only watch on as her friends continued to fight, hoping that they could do what she could not and finish off their foes.

Staggering and almost dropping to a knee, Damon struggled to stand after the beating he had taken from the evil pair which now lay dead at their feet. "What fell spell might she have cast next, had not Iomedae guided my blade to her throat at the last possible instant?" thought the young paladin in gratitude.

As he prepared to kneel in a prayer of thanks, Damon saw Hallvardr on the floor and the world came rushing back to him. "Quickly, let's get him some healing--does anyone have a spell or potion that can revive him?" asked Damon, concerned for his friend.

The old cynical voice came back into his head, "Sure, you survived this time...but what about those you swore to protect?"

Actions 1:

Calming down a bit as Roscoe informed him that Hallvarder was still with them, Damon shot a thankful glance at Stella. He searched the bodies of the two foes before him for obvious healing potions, but not as frantically as he saw the big man’s chest rise and fall steadily under Stella’s watchful eye. (After the savagery of the battle and the whispers only he can hear, Damon had forgotten if there were any healing potions available to the party.)

Actions 2:

Pulling himself together, Damon helped to search the rooms and read the note. His face darkened at the thought of People so vile that they conspired with the demons to destroy the city above, and he again worried about how his order fared during the attack.

(With that roll, I decided to go read the Pathfinderwiki about Yaniel and make a story about how Damon just learned about him.)

Actions 3:

Looking up from the note, Damon said, "Yaniel? I just learned about her last week in my studies with the Order. She was a crusader whose luck eventually ran out where she met her end in the Worldwound fighting demons. Still, we visited the shrine set up at the Gray Garrison where her blade, Radiance, was on display. If this Hosilla has stolen the weapon, we must return it to its rightful place once we return to the surface."

He watched Roscoe's efforts with interest, but Damon also investigated the weapons and furs in the room for further clues or useful items.

OOC: Damon, add the spoiler below as your knowledge on the subject.

Yaniel and her Sword:

"In 4692 ar, soon after the start of the Fourth Crusade, a paladin of Iomedae and renowned demon slayer named Yaniel spoke out against the Mendevian crusaders, accusing them of negligence and sloth, and claiming these faults were what allowed Khorramzadeh to invade Kenabres and damage the wardstone. Her accusations cut too close to the truth, and in a moment of weakness her superiors threatened to excommunicate her. Instead, she said she would enter the Worldwound and fight the Fourth Crusade on her own, with only her magic sword Radiance for company. The church was happy to see Yaniel go, and in the 2 years that followed, she was thought to have been slain. Yet when she returned to Kenabres in 4694 ar, leading a small army of crusaders she’d rescued, both Yaniel and her superiors had changed. For her part, Yaniel had shed her pride and insubordination, and had gained a new appreciation for the difficult decisions leaders are forced to make. And the church leaders had learned that sometimes the truth is exactly what you need to hear. Alas, Yaniel was assassinated before the year was out, slain by the lilitu demon Minagho only a week into her second personal crusade. Her followers managed to return to Kenabres with Radiance, but Yaniel’s body had been taken. The sword had gone dark after Yaniel’s death, its magical powers apparently lost, and so the crusaders elected to place it in the Gray Garrison on display. Yet several months ago it was stolen..."

Roscoe gasped at he found when he opened the box.

The lockbox held a small leather pouch containing an assortment of semiprecious gemstones (three chips of lapis lazuli worth
10 gp each, two bloodstones worth 50 gp each, a citrine worth 50 gp, and a white pearl worth 100 gp) as well as a scroll of lesser restoration and a potion of greater healing. The lockbox also contained long, thin darkwood sword case worth 200 gp.

As mentioned in the orders, the contents of the long darkwood case was the greatest treasure present. The case was not locked—inside lay a breathtaking longsword—a weapon of obviously superior craftsmanship with a razor-sharp blade that appeared to be made of shining gold. The blade was in fact made of cold iron that had been magically infused to make it appear as if it were made of gold...

Hopefully when Kokam has time to post she can administer it to Hallvardr and he can regain consciousness. If not, we either wait for natural healing or use the powerful potion to get him back on his feet.

I am reluctant to assume someone else's actions, but if we assume she uses the potion on Hallvardr, it would allow him to rejoin the RP...

”The forces of evil ever seek to corrupt that which is good,” replied Damon, gesturing to the letter, ”and it appears this ‘S. V.’ cultist had a plan to corrupt the pure blade of Yaniel...it also appears they had an ally attempting to corrupt the Wardstone—this Vorlesh, whoever that is.”

”With Hosilla’s death, we have at least recovered this noble blade, but it seems there are pockets of cultists still in the city at these three safe houses. Once we finish cleaning this lair of cultists, we need to find what authorities remain in the city and let them know of these developments, in addition to the cultist’s infiltration of the crusaders as we saw from the disguised bodies from before,” he concluded, worried about all the forces arrayed against the remnant of the crusaders that may still be on the surface.

”Do you dare touch the holy blade, boy? Will it darken at your touch and reveal your taint for all to see? Go ahead, you know you covet the dead blade of the murdered crusader...” Damon looked at the blade with mixed emotions, but made no attempt to claim it.

Just as it seemed that she had reached her limit, Stella saw the tiefling fall limp on Kokam's spear. Her body immediately relieved, she fell onto hands and knees breathing heavily for a few long moments as the glow emanating from her body slowly faded away. While the transformation technically lasts 10 mins, I'm ending it early for RP purposes After recovering enough to slowly begin to move again she moved closer to Hallvaror's body and thankfully was able to see that he was still alive. "Thank Desna we all survived that!.

Unfortunately I am also unable to heal with magic without a long rest. These cultist were more difficult than I could've possibly imagined! Hallvaror should be alright though with rest or another form of healing if we're able to find such a thing down here. She coughed out in response, clearly still feeling the effects of the fight herself.

Action #2
Staying back to monitor Hallvaror, she wrinkled her nose slightly when the Southern chamber was explored and the foul stench of...whatever was done in there reached her. Though at first curious of the cause, she decided she'd rather not know, and began digging through her bag. Using what little magic she had left, she caused the pods to flower into a mini bouquet which she used to block the smell until it was only a minor annoyance. The blade will reject you, and your friends will know your dark secret," the voice oozed, putting pressure on his very soul.

Can Damon overcome the darkness within and grasp the holy sword? How about a Charisma save against the evil whispers...

Damon fought through the dark whispers and grasped the hilt of the sword, letting it judge him as it would.

For Gods sake man, take the sword... it's a damn waste of metal if it's stuck in a sheath instead of doing it's job, particularly if we're facing demons and such, Hallvardr said brusquely catching the tail end of Roscoe's and Damon's exchange.

Not big on rolls vs players but here's an advantage to Roscoe if it's relevant

I would never hold a player to a roll. But I would be happy to offer the roll as part of the context.

Hey, I greatly appreciate the roleplay assist...Damon has his own flaws to deal with, and the support of friends encouraging him to do the right thing actually pushed him to try the sword long before I had intended him to due to his insecurity and dark secret...

LOL. Yeah it was a nice bit of RP reluctance. I was raised by a single mom and no matter how little money she had one someone made a generous offer she had to politely refuse it even when we needed it desperately. Her friends from church started giving me the money to just slip into her purse.

Not gonna lie, that title had me worried...

Reacting with awe, Damon was speechless as the sword accepted him, taking a long moment before he even registered the questions about the locations in Kenabres.

”Topaz Solutions sounds familiar—I think it it some kind of potion shop, but I never visited it. The other two are unknown to me,” said the distracted Paladin.

I think we should try to regroup with the others and have a short rest, then we try and clear out the rest of the lair. We might still have that lizard to deal with, though.

For RP sake, I'm just going to say Stella has no idea what/ where any of the places are. As she's new to the city and never been this far north before, she wouldn't know

It took Stella a few seconds to adjust her eyes after the the shining light of the blade faded away. When she could see again, she swore Damon looked different; the air about him was completely different and... was he handsomer somehow? Dismissing the thoughts as a trick of the light she spoke up and said "I think you were meant for that sword Damon, it suits you. Makes you more...knightly than before." before giving him a wink.

I also agree with Damon that we should take a short or long rest but I think we should wait to regroup till we've actually cleared out the hideout. An enemy could try and use one of the NPC's against us

Just didn’t want them freaking out that we had been gone an hour and try to come look for us and get themselves killed...Maybe we can get them a message somehow that we are fine but need to take a rest?

Gorum be praised - a miracle of steel! I'd say your Goddess has fated you to wield that sword.

He spat, clearing the taste of bile and weakness from his mouth.

We found a way out of this place? We might need to back track... and looking around I think we all could use a breather.

Kokam smiled her encouragement to Damon to take up the sword as well, but nonetheless felt a pang of jealousy; but for an accident of birth, it could have been her taking up that beautiful weapon, a champion of Iomedae! With a shake of her head she dispelled such nonsense, she loved Iomedae in her own way...her path was just a different one from Damon's.

Placing a hand on his shoulder and giving it a squeeze she said, "It seems to like you, Damon!"

She shrugs when the talk turns to the locations mentioned in the letter, "I've only just come to Kenabrae, I have not idea where these might be."

She blinks at Hallvardr's statement, nodding, suddenly feeling the weight of her wounds and the exhaustion of battle settling upon her, "I wouldn't turn down a chance to rest some...We do still need to find the way out..."
