I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Champion. This encounter is practically custom-made to counter our party. Our barbarian is basically a warrior, our bard is a 3/4 BAB warrior, and the artificial roof is preventing us from keeping our casters safe.

Yes, Lenny does indeed have embarrassingly low AC. I am used to being able to help parties power thru enemies super quickly berserker style. That and I hope to be able to shore that up with prebuffs like mirror image, but I guessed wrong about teleporting right into a fight this time.

Ahh I gotcha, so there’s now way to allow him to be active during the scenario. Well before I forget I will definitely be spending the prestige at the end to keep him alive.


@Sarek, you will only need to spend prestige to save Garm IF the scouting mission fails. That is looking pretty unlikely but we will know in the next day or two.

(Moved to discussion) As I read and understand it, Paladin's sacrifice can be used 1 of two ways: to soak a hit, or to soak a failed save effect. So if I used it to take the disease in Ember's place, then yes, I would not get a new save as the sacrifice is that I suffer the failed save effect instead of Ember. But the other use is to simply take a hit. Again the enemy doesn't have to try to hit again, the blow just hits me instead of Ember. And I suffer the normal consequences of being hit, which in this case would include being subjected to a disease save, but that I would get a roll against as normal.

The HP probably won't matter much, but I track it as after the giant went on Round 4, I was left with 1 HP.

Then my turn came up on round 5, I take 10 lifelink damage and fall unconscious at -9. Then Ember flew over and healed me for 32 + 6 extra from Fey Foundling = 29 HP.

Then during the giant's turn on round 5, I cast Paladin's sacrifice taking 11 damage in place of Ember, putting me at 18 HP.

At the start of my turn in round 6 (aka end of combat) I will take 10 more HP, putting me at 8, and then I will heal up from there.


Looking back you also have a restoration from an aid token but it is the 1000gp version and you must pay the cost.

No it just gets rid of the disease so you don't have to make more saves.

Defensive Strategist is a Torag specific trait. You must worship Torag to take it. Torag does not approve of dodgy chaotics so you will either need to change your alignmnent (to NG) or change your trait.

You may want to check that you dont have any other religion locked options as you can only worship one deity.

At best, if it lowers the storm and I have an opportunity, I can fling a melee person at it with Telekinetic Charge and then they use the Aid Token for a damage boost to smash it, then on their turn they full round attack it.

Yep, the cleric list is very short on spells which do not allow spell resistance.

Ok, so if it continues the Bone Storm, I am going to Shadow Conjuration summon a Fog Cloud to disrupt its sight on us, so we can buy a moment to regroup.

If it dismisses the Bone Storm, I am going to Shadow Evocation an ally with Telekinetic Charge into its face to launch an attack and full round the thing.

One thing to be aware of. In the next part champion tables will go and deal with one issue while soldier tables will go and deal with something else. If a champiion table finishes their part they can go off and experience the soldier stuff.

It is fair to say that the event the champion tables deal with is significantly tougher than that on the soldier side so at this point I am going to open up the question again of whether or not you want to remain a champion tier table.

The decision is entirely up to you.
