Seven of Eleven |
Seven of Eleven's hands move quickly over the controls to divert power to science.
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
"These systems have a minor malfunction, this unit shall need to compensate. Please stand by."
Seven of Eleven says and he preforms the repairs.
Well at least I got that one out of the way
Shifty |
Seven starts adjusting the systems whilst the ships posture for combat!

Agatio |
Hearing no response from the gunner’s bay, Agatio glances over and sees it’s empty. ”Oops. Agatio feels like a sheep.” He hustles over to the turret platform, uses the computer to lock onto the target, and launches a missile.
Gunnery vs TL (computer): 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 1 = 20
Damage: 4d8 ⇒ (6, 8, 5, 8) = 27
Shifty |
The missile plows into the front of the Malice, ripping through the shields and buckling some of the front panels of the hull!

Seven of Eleven quickly diverts power from the entertainment systems to recharge the shileds.
Divert-Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Man these dice rolls are killing me
Astran |
@Team, if no one objects, I'll use one of the floating +1s here isnce it's always going to be a neck and neck race. I suggest Gunners also take one. Astran punches it: Pilot: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 1 = 17
Astran |
Piloting: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 1 = 17 "Dammit!" Astran tries to flip and burn, but can't pull it off. "Fire from Aft! Get that turret in line!"
Tavia Thuris |
Tavia quickly sets the sensors to target the Malice's weapons. "Take out that gun before they can hit us again!"
Computers: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
why couldn't that have been the attack roll instead? :)
Agatio |
Agatio spins his turret platform around to the rear starboard quadrant, takes aim, and launches another missile!
Attack vs TL (computer): 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
Damage: 4d8 ⇒ (7, 2, 4, 6) = 19
Astran |
I just caught your gunnery mod. We should switch you out. We have a missile turret, I can jump out of the pilot seat and someone else can jump in. Captain should encourage gunner.
Tavia Thuris |
We don't quite cover all the roles. :)
I could cover Pilot, if we don't have anyone better. I've got a 6. Seven can switch between science and engineering as needed.
Agatio |
I’m glad someone took it! Agatio will go to Captain next turn and boost guns. That will give you +1 from computer and +2 from inspire for future shots.
Shifty |
Agiato fires wide.
The enemy ship fires at your rear!
Gunner - Forward laser
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage 1d8 ⇒ 2
Gunner - rocket turret

Malice Engineer 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Agatio |
Forward shields are down to 3, aft shields down to 0, and Hull Points down 2 out of 70. We should work to get those shields back up. @GM Are there any modifications for our only having 4 PCs?
Seven of Eleven |
Trying a different algorithm for data input Seven of Eleven tries to get the shields up.
Divert-Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
THE DICE GODS THEY HATE ME!!
Tavia Thuris |
Am I missing something? The roll is lousy, but isn't it enough? The DC is only supposed to be 10 + 1.5 * tier - which is 2, right? DC 13.
The previous roll was higher so that should have worked as well.
Agatio |
With Seven’s last two(!) successes for boosting shields, that means forward is at 9 and aft is at 6 now.
Agatio hustles our of the gunner’s seat as the kasatha comes to replace him. ”Strike down that bogus!”
Encourage gunner (computer): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17
Tavia is the new pilot!
Tavia Thuris |
I almost don't want to move - from where we are, we can target their damaged front and they're shooting our undamaged side shields.
Are those Orange cloud things actual obstacles? If so, I don't have a lot of choice.
If the cloud isn't an obstacle, I'll just circle around behind them, trying to Evade.
If it is, I'll Back Off 4 hexes.
Pilot: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
Oh, come on. Screwed either way. We're either where I moved us, at a -2 to AC/TL or right where we started at -4
Tavia lunges across the bridge, but the ship lurches as she fumbles for the controls. "I thought I knew how to fly this thing!"
Astran |
Astran spins the turret, "I can still get him." Gunnery: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 + 2 = 26 for DMG: 4d8 ⇒ (8, 1, 3, 8) = 20 Is that 3 missiles left?
Shifty |
The brown globs are mysterious bog-water, I'm sure it's safe...
1d100 ⇒ 70
1d100 ⇒ 18
The missile slams home with devastating consequences... the sensors are further blown out, and the engine is now struggling - the Malice has buckling and significant hull damage...
You guys are pretty much dominating the enemy now, so happy to call it a win there - I suppose it comes down to whether you want to just leave them crippled to limp home eventually, or to destroy them utterly (which may have implications!)
Astran |
"I''ll not coup de grace a defeated foe." Astran steps back from the turret, "But I won't give them a free pass either. Let's scan them and see if we can learn... or take... anything. [b]"I'm not so principled as to deny a weregild."
Seven of Eleven |
"Stand by please."
His hands works over the controls scanning the ship.
Computers: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
"Data is being sent to your screens." Seven of Eleven says in his mono tone robotic voice.
Shifty |
The wreck of the Malice sits floundering in space, the surviving crew will no doubt take a long time to get the thing in any sort of state to limp home.

Your ship now sits over the Drift Bog, able to scan the surface with your ships sensors.
Seven determines there are life forms in the bog and there is gravity, and you can locate a safe landing site.
Computers check by the Science Officer
Using their ship’s sensors you discover the remaining atmosphere in the Drift Bog is thin and highly toxic, and gravity is unstable near the swamp’s edges. You also determine the Drift Bog is deteriorating, with atmosphere and water leaking off in places, and large hunks of land breaking away.
This knowledge grants the PCs a +2 bonus to all skill checks and saving throws made while floating in the Drift or to avoid falling into the Drift.
Using the ship’s sensors you are able to piece together a rough topographical map of the Drift Bog.
The map grants the PCs a +2 bonus to all Perception, Profession, and Survival checks made to navigate the Drift Bog.
Seven of Eleven |
"These sensors are not efficient, this unit will calibrate and scan the drift bog."
Seven of Eleven' hands move in a blur across the controls, making fine tune adjustments here and there.
computers: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
"This is about the best scan that this unit can do with the current equipment. Please look at you data screens for information on the scan (see spoilers). This unit will also download the scans in to your data pads if any unit would like.
This unit does not know if the adjustment will hold for future scans. The processor is running hot and could cause malfunctions and scan errors."
Seven of Eleven warns.
Shifty |
Excellent roll! Seven has the mojo back :)

You land the ship in a viable location and check your surrounds.
The Drift Bog is wet and muddy, its warm, murky water flecked with bits of red and black plant matter. Twisted, gnarled trees sprouting sickly black leaves grow throughout the swamp, blocking line of sight and creating shifting shadows. The leaves sway as if blown by a breeze, though no wind exists. Swarms of biting insects form clouds in the air, nearly blocking out the kaleidoscopic, swirling sky of the Drift. The beating of their wings creates an inescapable droning that makes it difficult to hear.
You are getting ready to disembark. There are six emergency spacesuits on the ship if you lack environmental protection. please note any specific prep you wish to undertake at the top of your next post
You can examine:
* Insects - Life science.
* Flora - Life Science.
* Atmosphere - Medicine or Physical Science.
* Water - Medicine or Physical Science.
* Earth or mud that succeed at a Physical Science or Survival.
+2 If flying in the Pegasus
Tavia Thuris |
Tavia takes her time with the sensors before even considering stepping outside.
"No need to rush here. We've dealt with the competition."
Other than that, I don't think there's any other preparation other than obviously turning on the armor's environment protection before going outside.
Any of these can be Aid Another if someone has better skills:
Insects: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Flora: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Atmosphere: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Water: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Earth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Agatio |
Agatio activates his armor's EP, then follows his comrades out into the unfriendly terrain.
None of those trained skills plus a Wisdom penalty, but happy to aid if he can.
Survival (aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
