Knowledge (planes), Take 10, GH: 10 + 21 + 2 = 33

”Well someone certainly has an inflated sense of their own importance,” Arnaut mutters, his song interrupted by both the booming voice and a daemon invading his personal space bubble.

Concentration vs DC 23: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (19) + 23 = 42

An eerie whistle fills the air, mixing with the noise of the storm as the bard stares down the otherworldly monster above him. ”You shouldn’t be here,” he says softly, but the wind picks up his words and amplifies them, multiplies them, and hurls them in the daemon’s fishy face.

Arnaut points, his arm unmoving in the howling sleet. ”Now go!” he commands, a clap of thunder punctuating his words with a bone-shaking roar.

Standard action to cast virtuoso performance with Dirge of Doom attached, then swift action to begin Frightening Performance (Will 29 or frightened).

The bard then abruptly turns and dances away from his problems.

Acrobatics, GH: 1d20 + 35 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 35 + 2 = 49
Fly, GH: 1d20 + 35 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 35 + 2 = 48

Acrobatics to avoid AoO while moving at half speed which is (60+30)/2 = 45 ft. On mobile and can’t move my icon without also moving all the text fields and summons. Could someone move me to the Cyan square? He’s also probably at +160 ft currently due to the roof.

Nah, I'll just do the bane. Without it her damage is severely limited and maybe she will allow Hendric to charge.

Not at the moment, based on where I got blown by the wind. Too close to the enemy to charge him.

GM Screen:
S Bellamin

Alright, don’t say I didn’t give everyone the chance to reroll the Fort save.

Following the lightning strike, the loud thunder rings through the Pathfinders’ ears! Jordan, Bellamin, and the angel are all deafened for 1d6 ⇒ 4 rounds. Would’ve required a percentage chance from Bellamin for his spells, but they didn’t go off and that daemon has no intention of going invisible, so I won’t bother with the specifics.

Also, I didn’t notice that Jordan was using air walk, so he’d be moved 40’ to the right as well (which I did).

Miss Chances (Miss on a 1):
Marta Attack: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Jordan Rapid Shot: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Marta’s attack missed. And because Jordan is deafened he can’t hear the inspire courage so the crit doesn’t confirm and the Haste shot doesn’t hit.

Daemon Will vs Frightening Performance: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 14 - 2 = 31

After getting hit by Jordan: Daemon Fly: 1d20 + 9 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 - 4 - 2 = 19

The daemon looks on in anger and flies over to Arnaut! Provokes from Marta, Fluffy, Hendric, the angel, and Orange.

Miss chances for AoOs (miss on a 1):
Fluffy: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Hendric: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Marta: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Angel: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Orange: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Daemon Fly (assuming Marta damages); DC 10: 1d20 + 9 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 - 4 - 2 = 11
Daemon Fly (assuming Orange damages); DC 10: 1d20 + 9 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 - 4 - 2 = 18

It flies over and lands in between Arnaut and Peter and moves to bite Arnaut! And yes, I remember Arnaut’s displacement.

Daemon vs Arnaut: 1d20 + 23 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 23 - 2 = 32
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 4) + 5 = 15
Grab: 1d20 + 27 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 27 - 2 = 31

The beast grabs the Shelynite in its maw and brings it closer, but just as it does so a stone around Arnaut’s neck shatters as he wriggles free of the daemon! Talisman is gone and Arnaut has 1 negative level.

Bellamin Fort: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 + 2 = 32

Assuming Bellamin wouldn’t use a reroll on a nat 19, I’ll tell you now that that fails. Bellamin is stunned for 3 rounds and has bleed 1. The damage below is taking his resistance to negative energy into account.

Suddenly, before anyone can comprehend what is even occurring, a deep gash opens on Bellamin’s chest and a voice emanates from right next to the man. Gray circle for where the attack came from.

”…or do you need a reminder of who your superiors are?”

But one thing is certain, he sicced a demon on them and for that Marta has plenty of reason to attack. If she can tell (or is told) what type of creature he is, she will enact the appropriated bane. Decemvirate Will vs Glitterdust that I forgot about: 1d20 + 25 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 25 - 2 = 35

    Peter:
Sorry; completely missed that you studied the disc. It’d be a Knowledge (arcana) or Spellcraft, but you’d make it automatically.

The disc seems to be the focal point of some kind of ritual; determining anything more than that would require significantly more studying.

Bellamin uses a powerful dispel magic, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Peter follows up, causing a purple and a white aura to appear an inch above the Decemvirate member’s body before shattering, ending the man’s invisibility, revealing the form of the Taldan human that is the bearer of the three-spired helm. A buckler is strapped to one arm while in his other he wields a shortsword that is far too small for him—the shortsword appears to have once been regal, but has since been weathered by time, occasional cracks and nicks appear on its blade.

A lot of flavor in this paragraph: Arnaut uses his magic to grab at the Decemvirate’s sword, the force of his magic nearly knocking him off-balance. At that same moment Hendric, Marta, and the deva charge him! In a swift moment the Decemvirate spins along with the force of Arnaut’s spell and turns his back against the three chargers and in the last moment jerks his body and his arms. His buckler slams against Marta’s fist, tanking the attack; two of the spires of his helm hook onto the angel’s greatsword and his head jerks, sending it away from the man; and the flat of his blade is put in the way of Hendric’s lance and takes the impact, creating massive black sparks, the lance then gives out as the top six inches of Hendric’s weapon snaps off and soars to the ground far below—magical backlash reverberates through the sword and back at Arnaut, breaking the bard’s concentration on the spell.

All of those attacks missed. Also adjusted Marta’s height since she had to go to the closest square adjacent to the enemy to charge (which would’ve been below him).

Actually, I think Marta should end up at 180'. She started at 170', her target was at 180, and she moved about 30' (I think). so for every 5' moved forward she would go up 1/6 of that or 10/6' (or 1.6'). After moving 5 squares she would be at 178' which is closer to 180 than 175. Frankly its close enough to give the PC the choice and attribute it to a head vs. foot shot. Thoughts?

Not that I really care all that much. I'm really just being pedantic here.

The devastation of the juggernauts of the Aspis Consortium? Efforts that could never have occurred without my guidance on the Ten—and at my suggestion that some of you were instrumental in these efforts! Not to mention the sheer amount of diamonds needed at such short notice just for you six alone?! Do these mean nothing?!

"वैकल्पिक विचार: नाइट के पीछे प्रतीक्षा करें और पकड़ने के लिए तैयार रहें!" Arnaut calls to the azata as he plummets to the ground like a falling star. As he places a hand on the fallen lance, the bard winks out of existence before popping back into reality behind Hendric.

    Celestial:
"Alternative idea: wait behind the knight and be prepared to catch!"

Peter, I hope you don't mind a suggestion/retcon since it's tough to arrange these things via PbP. If Orange flies next to Hendric and prepares to catch the lance, Arnaut can fly down and dimension door back up. Entertainingly, because of the extreme distance down (and the fact that the fly spell allows you to descend at double your speed), even if the lance is directly underneath our favorite member of the Decemvirate it's still barely within 180 ft (179.513231 according to my calculations) of Arnaut's starting position. He can't move, pick up the lance, and teleport back up in one turn, but he only has to touch the lance to bring it with him. If the azata/Peter is willing, we could have the weapon back up in the air in one round.

GM, in the past you've ruled that passing an item from one character to another requires a move action, but it doesn't matter which of the two parties involved takes that action. Would that still be applicable here? Unless we involve someone else (and I don't think there's anyone else to involve), Hendric would have to take the move action to take the lance from Orange.

Hendric is moved downward. 40’ along the diagonal equates to 25’ vertically and laterally.

The Decemvirate member, despite his hindrance, completely dodges out of the way of the Lightning. Evasion.

Fluffy and Sentry tear into the Decemvirate member Sentry runs into DR, but it is Marta that pummels into the Decemvirate member the most! With one final punch Marta sends the man falling down to the ground.

"Didn't that bag of hot wind say something about not prolonging a ritual?" Arnaut asks as he watches the member of the Ten fall to the ground like a particularly heavy feather. "Peter, any ideas what's going on up here? I might not be a meteorologist, but I'm mostly certain this storm's not natural."

If possible, I'd like to wait to hear what Peter discovers before taking any actions in case there's something Arnaut can do to help (or at least not make the situation worse). If that's not possible, just let us know and he'll figure something out.

If the angels have healed him and his Bleed damage has stopped, then he rides down to where the Decemvirate member's body was. Mostly to guard Fluffy, but also to see if the undead has escaped somehow.

Normally Air Walk has you descend at half speed, which would be 40' move while Hasted, and 80' with a double move. However, Sentry has the Sure Footed feat which means he can move at normal speed on steep slopes. It would be my interpretation that Sentry can descend at full speed while Air Walking, but I would expect table variation.

He shouts loudly, but mostly comprehensible after he looks around. "I've got a greater dispel if we think it'll help!"

If anybody nods and points at the disk, he'll cast it. If y'all think it's a bad idea, he'll hopefully Dimension Door to cover, putting most of the lodge between him and the disk. Somebody's gotta survive this ordeal or this may have been all for nothing.

Retcon to above. Not casting a spell due to deafness still uses the slot, so I don't have dispel. Since there's nothing to pincushion, Jordan's just going to try to stay alive and teleport, assuming the area is going to explode or something due to the ritual. Still going to look around for Torch, though.

Hendric is moved by the wind.

Jordan teleports to stand on the roof of the northern edge of the map talked with him about the logistics of his action.

Suddenly, the Decemvirate’s sword—still gripped by a lone gauntlet—begins crackling with red lightning against the three-spired helm, the Decemvirate’s other equipment, and Fluffy, causing her fur to stand on end. A crack of lightning strikes the Decemvirate’s helm, creating an uncomfortable buzzing.

The red disc, which has now grown to eight feet in diameter, spins rapidly as the air pressure in the area drops precipitously.
