Pardon my hiatus; many pies, only so many fingers.
When you create undead only racial HD remain, so whatever you reanimate will probably be 1 or 2 hd skeletons or zombies.
DM, what's your verdict on this? It certainly didn't work that way the last time I tried this. Similarly, please give me a call on the Editor's Note in bold here.
Also, I'll need to know the Strength, Dexterity, and weapons of the fallen.
For everyone else, something to consider IC: Doesn't it stand to reason that the alchemical method for this sort of thing might be qualitatively different from arcane/divine magic? Heavens, people, I'm not a "necromancer", I'm a reanimator! :)

It's not inherent to animate dead, but skeletons and zombies both have templates that say to remove all hit dice gained from class levels.

If someone shows up and tells Sayna “oh, this is totally different from raising the dead. I’m not a necromancer, I’m a [thing that sounds like a nice way of saying necromancer]. I’m using magically-enhanced alchemy not magic!” she is going to be less than impressed.
Also, my ooc worry is more about what Sarenrae (and her followers, since we are running into them) is going to think about you raising undead/bringing them into her temple, no matter what the method is. She doesn’t have a “well if it’s alchemical it’s okay” addendum to her hatred of undead.
I’m not saying you can’t do it, just that it seems like an action with potentially mission-harming repercussions in our present circumstances.

Right.

Sorry about my absence; just kind of...needed a big break there.

In that case, how many HD would they have?

I still need an answer to this, as well.
@Everyone else: Do remember the treats I handed out earlier!

Not the GM, but I think the skeletons & zombies made from creatures with no racial HD would just have one hit die.

Since I've only got the one infusion, and it's minutes/level I've been holding off in case we get a stronger sense of when our final confrontation with the Reaver will begin :-)

I’ve certainly been enjoying it, thanks for running. I find this format lets me think more about the action that a PC would take, which makes it fun to play characters you’ve never done so in pbp before.

Regarding our choices now, I was under the impression that there was an upstairs area to the Bastion that we hadn't explored yet. I may have gotten lost in the back-and-forth though. Have we explored all obviously accessible areas of the building?

There is, but that's entirely optional on the part of the GM. And there aren't any planned out encounters.

Sorry for missing out on the last bit (not that it appears to have mattered); VERY busy week!

Do you need anything to finish up for chronicles?
Tessaviri Erisanthe |
Thank you for the game!

My internal wall-hitting notwithstanding, it could've been worse!
Not that it's a huge deal, but for future reference, I'd prefer Chronicles to this character be made out with some version of his honorific included, since I'm not in the practice of referring to him by his first name (for the first several years when I still had an in-person game to go to, I hadn't even given him one - it was just 'Dr. Vitruvian').
Oh, and also, now to use my folio reroll on my Day Job check:
Craft (Alchemy), Faction pin: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (4) + 31 = 35 Hey, it's something.
Sayna Elantho |
Thank you for the game! If you could put my day job result on the chronicle, as per the linked post below, I’d appreciate it. I didn’t use my reroll, so she would be getting 300 gp (40=150 gp, doubled cause of her boon)
