Narayan shoots a potion into his hand, drinks it, becomes rather large, and rushes through fire and flame to engage the Phoenix!

As Sparky correctly did, the wall damage isn't fixed.Tree: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (4, 4) + 15 = 23 So tree actually gets 1 damage more! Also haste is capped on double your movementspeed, so even hasted you only move 40. (Get Celestial Armor or Mithril. I've moved the Tree token 10 feet back.)

I think the consensus was that flying creatures can't be knocked prone, but I'll roll anyway while I look it up for next round.

The Phoenix casts another quickened wall of fire and then flies to the creature that inflicted the most pain!

Officially the only ranged weapons you can use while prone are shuriken or crossbows, but I think a splash weapon should be possible too (although with an additional -4). You can choose to throw it if you really want (which would miss keeping your rolled result) or you can stand up (both of these actions would provoke), or do nothing.

I was of the opinion this isn't a crossbow, ergo can't attack. So I'll stand up. We'll at least know if it has Combat Reflexes.

If I'm not mistaken, Boros' protection from fire is one of the spells dispelled (as is haste and heroism), so the wall will start doing damage to him for being within 10-20 feet of the edge.

Ok, trying to organize everything going on here. By my count, Boros has now taken a total of 37 fire damage. This means he has 3 temporary hp left. The dispel magic has removed the Resist Fire 20, Haste, and Heroism. Wrath is still active, as is Good Hope from Keriassa. If that is wrong, please let me know! This high level stuff is so busy...

When the pheonix dismisses most of the magic that was helping Boros, he suddenly begins to sweat. The flames around him make his feathers singe at their edges. "Your rebirth will repair this tapestry!" he yells, putting the pieces together of Aram Zey's desperate hail mary of a ploy. Boros steps aside slightly, hoping to stay just out of the reach of the pheonix. His arm begins to send arrows at point blank range at the body of the creature, knowing that it is a race to the death between himself and his foe. Thoughts of his friends race through the back of his mind. His feud with Glarifyur. It all seems so petty now, and he may never have a chance to make things right.

No matter. This is why he joined the society. Perhaps he will be remembered.

If he is 20' up in the air, I should be able to 5' step and be just outside of his melee range I think. Accept raging song. Click my heels together to activate boots of speed as a free action. Full attack. Modifiers in play here are: Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Manyshot, Deadly Aim, Bane, Haste, Judgement of Destruction and Justice, Wrath, Good Hope, Raging Song w/Reckless Abandon.

The Phoenix is currently only 10 foot high, so Boros provokes.
(also as it's only 1 diagonal, it would even be possible to hit you if it was 20 feet up.)

The Phoenix trips Boros, who is unable to fire his bow as a result.

If Boros chooses to stand up, the phoenix will attack again.

The phoenix flies up to 20 feet and casts Greater Dispel Magic on Sparky.

"Oh! You escaped the tapestry! Well done, but where is the rest of your group?" the former Master of Spells inquires.

Sparky:
If a PC is banished, she reappears in the Grand Lodge next to the tapestry. She can convince Aram Zey to send her back in by spending 2 Prestige Points—with the current state of the rift, there is little risk for further damage to the tapestry. If she does so, she reappears in the combat one round after she disappeared, arriving at the edge of the map.

Having taken a beating while standing up and seeing this creatures ability to unleash damage opportunistically, Boros is very careful about his next move. Growling in frustration that he is unable to do what he was created to do, Boros chants the incantation to a powerful spell, but does so defensively. His good buddy Nugats needs help, and he knows how to help him.

Swift action to change Judgement of Justice to Judgement of Piercing (gives me +4 to my caster check to overcome spell resistance). Casting Judgement Light defensively.

Defensive Casting to avoid AoO, DC 23 for 4th level spell: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27

Spell Resistance check, Wrath gives +3 to this roll, J of Pierce gives +4: 1d20 + 10 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 3 + 4 = 37

As Boros completes the spell, First a violent red light explodes from his body, followed by a deep violet colored burst. Both of these waves envelop the phoenix.

With judgement of Destruction active, the Phoenix takes 4d8 points of damage and is shaken for 1d4 rounds. A DC 18 Will save means half damage and negates the shaken condition. Judgement of Piercing is active also, which means it's spell resistance is reduced by 5 for 10 rounds, no save for that.

Judgement Light Damage: 4d8 ⇒ (2, 7, 7, 6) = 22 and Shaken for: 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds.

Boros' spell reduced the SR enough to allow Nugats' spell to penetrate the phoenix' arcane defenses.

Reflex: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21 it does however make its save.

While the teleport spell is being cast Sparky will use his wand of Haste on himself. And realistically on any nearby Pathfinders hoping to go back but I doubt they can account for that.

Actually, that would make it just out of reach, invalidating your whole action. Something needs to be within your reach to hit it, not at reach.


I can't think of a possible action for Narayan that wouldn't be very likely met and negated by an AoO, I'll continue the game. If Narayan does find something, we'll do a slight backtrack.
