Raspar steps in front of the man, taking any attacks upon Hueberk onto his own body. He stares defiantly at any that would continue to harm the surrendered, especially if they are dwarven.

If there are no attacks forthcoming, Raspar will completely disarm the man.

"Now, what is your business with the woman?" Raspar asks, knowing that part of the deal was true and faithful honesty about his purpose here.

"Going to bleed for those who'll stab us in the back, Raspar?" the dwarf snarls, still riding his fury. "I thought you were better than that."

It takes a few moments, but Kelvin's rage abates. When he has reached a level of calm, he says to Hueberk, "You are going to tell us everything now. You made a pretty big mistake here, and the only way you to pay for it is spilling. So start with the halfling's question, and then don't stop there."

Cabaguil will rush into the room to examine the wainwright. Yes, their prisoner is important, but the others in their passion clearly have that covered.

He attends the poor man, loosening his bonds and gag and examining his injuries.

Cabaguil finds the wainwright alive, though barely. That knife to his throat would have certainly ended his life.

Hueberk continues to look at the ground. "I just came to Breachhill. I only took your Wainwright as a ploy to draw you out and into this trap. Laslunn, the leader of my organization send me on this personal mission. Laslunn wants to know more about Alseta's Ring. I was told to get the information by whatever means and then meet her at a shipping company called Sunset Imports in Kintargo once I returned."

Hueberk shrugs. "I don't know. She told me to come here and find out what was going on. I wasn't stupid enough to question why."

Cabaguil and Cuthberwyn get the Wainwright down onto the floor where they can tend to his injuries. With a little healing it looks like he will pull through, though it may take a little time before he will be able to get back to work on the Citadel. Watching what he can Cuthberwyn seems to believe that Hueberk is telling the truth of what he knows.

After delivering the villain to the sheriff (thanks Dak!), Raspar will return to visit the Dreamhouse, reporting in to the head dreamer, and his friend gnome. He will help sell the equipment then offer his usual tithe to the soup kitchen.

”Oh yeah, that’s a good idea about the library. Lots of fun books to read when people come visit the Rainbow DreamCastle Citadel,” Raspar agrees with Cuth, and the need for a nice forge. ”I can’t wait to get to landscaping. We’ll want a nice garden of course, but not sure we have the space for a baroque or charbagh style, but perhaps a blent cottage and Hon Non Bo? We’ll see. I’ll need to examine the grounds more...” Raspar chatters excitedly as he walks back to the Citadel, discussing the best options for the exterior grounds.

    Male Human

Once the wainwright is properly seen to, Cabaguil joins the others walking to the Citadel. ”Before we can implement all these lovely plans, we’re going to need to finish repairing the walls. I also have some things to do which will take a couple weeks, though I suppose I can see to administration during that time at least.”

”And yes, we have much to sell, and I have a few things to buy as well if the money is available.” (I’ve gone through the treasure sheet and taken everything I want/need. We should keep the bag of holding (line 149) for the group to carry food and supplies as well as loot. Who is willing to carry/track it?)

With that, Cabaguil will examine the logs of what’s been done over the time they were away, and see what he can do to get things back on track (Administer Citadel).

Once he has things in order, he heads back into town (the next day) and hunts down his friend, Peric Byrch. He takes him out for a meal, or, more likely, coffee as he’s probably already had breakfast by the time Cabaguil arrives. He fills him in on his adventures, trying to stick as closely as possible to the truth, but the story does stretch a little from time to time in the telling.

In the end, he looks to his friend and one time mentor saying, ”So you see, I cannot be bringing poor Spooky into such environments. Why she stayed hidden in my pack for most of the time, but that’s no way for a cat to behave. I was wondering… would you take her in? Just for a bit until we get the Citadel stabilized and staffed? She’ll make a marvelous mouser there, but it’s still a little ‘open to the sky’ if you know what I mean.”

And with that, Cabaguil begins a weeklong study to swap out a feat…

"Sunset Imports hmm," Blacktusk thinks for a moment and grabs a book from the shelf and slowly flips through the pages. "Looks to be owned by one of the noble families of Kintargo. A Sedranni Vashnarstill."

He slides the book over to Cuthberwyn. Sunset Imports has been operated by the Vashnarstill family for decades, during which time it’s been a leading business in Kintargo, bringing in Arcadian goods for distribution throughout Cheliax.
The business’s foremost client used to be House Thrune, but now that Ravounel has seceded from Cheliax and ties with House Thrune have become complicated, Sunset Imports has fallen on hard times.

The Vashnarstills have long been proud citizens of Kintargo, but their business’s financial dependence on House Thrune made some in the family less than enthusiastic participants in the recent rebellion that resulted in Ravounel’s independence. Unfortunately, even before Ravounel’s freedom was established, House Thrune canceled all of Sunset Imports’ contracts, costing the business most of their income. The Vashnarstills responded by working hard to secure an exclusive contract with the city’s new leadership, the Silver Council. In traditional Chelaxian fashion, the Vashnarstills sponsored a theatrical banquet and other expensive entertainments. But Ravounel’s government, dedicated to principles of liberty in mercantile pursuits, was eager to establish a tradition against exclusive contracts.

Satisfied he’s got what he came for, he rejoins the others in the Rainbow Citadel. ”So what’s next? I can help build an infirmary if we’d like one but, other than the weekly paperwork, I can’t be of much assistance. Is there anything I can help any of you with? I also have some ready cash if anyone needs a loan.” (up to 200gp)

He offers his time and money, knowing that sooner or later they must travel to Kintargo.

Glad that he's gotten the annoying grunt work done at the Rainbow Citadel, Kelvin does his level best to get away from it for the next couple days. 8 days used on the repairs, so 6 days left in week two

On his first day he heads over to see Rorsk Axebane at Tuskhead Stoneworking. He spends a good chunk of time making friendly, getting to know the dwarf mason. Kelvin commends the dwarf on his work on the citadel, and the two compare notes on the work they did.
    Befriend a Local (Crafting): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
He leaves the place, laughing and smiling with a promise to have a beer with Rorsk at Cayden's Keg at some point.

The next day he heads over to Quarters and Bits, and finally meets the fast-talking halfling Crink Twiddleton. He goes in to see about buying a potent rune for his weapon. They go back and forth, haggling animatedly, until they settle on a price that Crink says will "starve his family and beggar his business" but Kelvin asserts is "enough gold to make a dragon cry". In other words, they're both happy. And with the purchase made, Kelvin loiters a bit and works to get to know the man, generally letting the halfling talk.
    Befriend a Local (Diplomacy): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

On day three Kelvin sits down with Ogogoro's Pride and his newly acquired runestone. He pulls out his crafting tools, and gets to work applying the rune to the shaft of the spear.

    I'll use a Hero Point
    Crafting (DC 24): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
Unfortunately, the process is foreign, and he just can't figure out what he's doing right.

Day four comes, and Kelvin leaps out of bed to once more apply himself to the 'rune problem'.
    Crafting (DC 24): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Goddamnit. Fine, I'll use a Hero Point
    Crafting (DC 24): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
He remains stumped, and at one point can be heard throwing his smithing tools around in a fit of rage.

"Alright, third day's the charm. Here goes," he says to himself, starting the day off as positively as he can muster.
    Crafting (DC 24): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
When he finally figures it out, the dwarf's laughter can be heard echoing through the citadal. He bumps into Dori later that day, and explains what he figured out. "The thing is that it's weird magic, and the application is keyed to the magic IN the stone. All this time I'm trying finesse the rune onto the weapon, but it took a concussive force to jam the magic on. Like punching a hole into a steel sheet. So weird!"

And with all his crafting frustrations done, Kelvin celebrates. He'd normally spend the day and night drinking at Cayden's Keg, but opts to try out the Wizard's Grace. His rationale being that he's an adventurer, and he has all kinds of tales of derry-do to share. And share he does, getting drunk enough to spend time (and coin) chatting up Trinil Uskwold.
    Befriend a Local (Diplomacy): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Kelvin does a reasonable job of holding himself together and not saying anything too embarrassing.

Starting into the third week, Cabaguil starts thinking about the future. ”I’ve mentioned it before, but we need a castellan to keep things ticking over while we’re gone. While I have some concerns, I think our best bet is Warbal Bumblebrasher, the goblin diplomat. Might not be ideal, but I think we’ve got enough going on now that the expense is warranted.”

If no one disagrees, Cabaguil will approach the little man and see if he’s interested. Before he goes, he thinks a bit about goblins and what he knows of them to further his advantage. (My diplomat’s badge allows me to make a DC 20 recall knowledge for a +2 to diplomacy for 24 hours to those kind of creatures.)

”So you see good sir, you’d be handling the accounts, ensuring bills got paid, and generally making sure the place isn’t overrun - or if it is, we find out about it. Soon we’ll be headed out into the field again, and I hope to be able to communicate with you while we’re gone, but it may take some time to learn the spell. It’s giving me some trouble, but I’ll master it in time. So, will you help us?”

He’ll spend the rest of the week (just five days for him as he had some overlap from prior work) preparing the infirmary. He’ll do what he can to prepare a room properly for the healing of the sick.

At the end of the third week he chats with the party further, ”So, should we try to push another week, or head out to Kintargo now? Perhaps we should get some horses if it’s far…” he trails off. He’s healthier than he’s ever been after the close calls, and numerous illnesses of the jungle. All the walking, and recovery, has left him more hale than he’s used to. Still, he’d be happy to ride a while, if horses are available.

Erased the Basic Repair Activities as they are all now completed and offer no benefit on their own.

Kelvin spends the better part of the week getting to know a few of the folks in town a little better. Haggling and hustling he manages to procure quite the deal on some items, though it takes a couple more days to figure it out as these installation procedures seem to have been missing the instructions, or some hardware as it likely came from the Ikea province.

Maybe a couple of tankards in the Wizard's Grace and some good old dwarven tales will help.

Raspar plants some flowers and tends to setting up a bit of hired help on the training grounds while Cabaguil works his own hands on building an infirmary. With all of the injuries the group has obtained it will likely be needed. Speaking with Amera for the better part of an hour Raspar is able to talk he down into half the wages as she crabs some chalk and begins planning.

Amera will begin working on the Training grounds for up to a Month at 2.25 gold a day. (67.5 total for the month)

Cabaguil knows a thing or two about goblins as Warbal happily agrees to help keep some of the workers on schedule. She calls in some of the Bramblebrashers from the woods to give a 'helping' hand as well as run the numbers on the account book as Cabaguil hands over a king's ransom in gold to a goblin that can barely count to 10.

Though Warbal seems very optimistic and willing to prove herself.

Tossing out sheets and makeshift beds Cabaguil gets to work over the next few days as one of the rooms begins to shape into an infirmary as he chips 6 days away.

When he’s not helping her, he’s working on his landscaping and thinking about what things to buy with his hoarded gold. It’s more money than he’s ever seen and after tithing, he knows he can spend it on what he wants...whatever he wants. He’s just having a hard time deciding what that is going to be.

”Dak! Cuth! You guys are twins! Nice matching booties and cloaks!” Raspar greets the pair. ”Is that cotton? Or elf spun spider thread?” he touches cloak, rubbing it between his tiny, but strong, fingers. ”Why did you guys choose these? Are we all getting cloaks and booties like this?”

The jungle aside, he’s never been that far from home before. The jungle was, well, jungle. Thickly overgrown, hot, and disease ridden. Kintargo is a major city! Who knows what might be found there! Sitting with Cuthberwyn at the Wizard's Grace, he ponders the question about the former Reliant Book Company. "If nefarious sorts know that place was Voz's, they'll likely be drawn to it. Thinking her notes are there or some such. If that's so, it might be worthwhile to make any nosy sorts pay."

He asks the gnome for his writing instruments and begins sketching out a rough floorplan of the bookshop. "We could set up an alarm trap at the entry, maybe even tied to the door. The door will be locked, but someone will try and pick it. Amateurs will probably trigger it, and I can tell you that loud noises are enough to scare away amateurs. But..." Kelvin continues to sketch, his tongue sticking out slightly as he concentrates. "We'll want something real tough and nasty. Maybe attached to a desk drawer, since that's where paperwork would be found. But the place will be empty, so we might need to rig up a secret compartment in a floorboard. Something that seems hidden, but isn't too hard to spot for someone searching. We trap that with some alchemical bombs. Yeah..."

Unfortunately for Cuthberwyn, Kelvin gets pretty drunk that night. The next morning he has no recollection of even seeing the gnome, nevermind any lofty ideas about traps.
