Thyste raises her eyebrows at Ben.
”Silk? I didn’t think you the type.”
She pulls out her own... as well as a couple of grappling arrows.
”It would be less fun, but I could always try this.”
Little Ben PBP
"Knock yourself out Thyste. Get fancy if you want to."
Thyste Fox-Tailed
”In that case...”
She ties one end of the ropes to something sturdy, and ties the other ends around her waist.
Acrobatics DCs can usually be estimated by sight. Would it be 23 or less to make? If so, I’ll be taking 10 :D
GM_Grandlounge
The jumps seem easy enough to make for Thyste. Can I get an approximate weight for each character and their gear, please?
Little Ben PBP
Ben is probably over 250 lbs and under 300 lbs, has a large oversizes axe, dragonhide plage armor, a shield, and lots of camping gear. Though I'm thinking the gear could come over separate at the end of a rope. Still. That puts him around 300-350 lbs and with no acrobatics skill.
Lidia*

Lidia is about 155 lb with all her gear, plus or minus one cat. (125 lb of girl, 30 lb of gear)
Lidia waits to see how Thyste makes out, and readies her bow just in case.

"I'll go last." announces Lidia. "I'm pretty sure I can make the jumps."
She watches as Ulretha begins jumping out onto the lily pads with the lightness and grace of a hippopotamus. She winces, anticipating trouble.
"Grab the rope!" she coaches tensely, then immediately grabs her end of the rope and braces her feet to try and lend it more stability just in case he actually listens to her.

Under the weight of the Gnoll the lily pad strength gives and it falls all the way to the floor (100ft) but the springy stem cushions the fall so Ulretha ride is controlled even though it was unexpected.

As Ulretha misses the first jump and scrambles to catch the lily pad before falling to his death, Lidia chokes out a yelp of alarm and tenses helplessly on the platform. She watches tautly as the giant plant bows and bends and slowly carries the gnoll off out of sight into the darkness below.
"Great. The druids were all skinny." she grouses with an irony she clearly doesn't feel. She's feeling something closer to panic. "Ulretha?! Can you hear me? Are you ok?" she calls out.
And then she gets a face full of nasty flies.

"Ulretha, if you are going to get out of there you will need to climb really fast or take off your armor so that the pad can lift you. In the mean time..."
Ben starts rummaging about in his backpack. i.e. waiting for my init.
Lidia*

"That poison weakened him. He may not be able to climb out. And those lily pads might not hold his weight even without his armor." says Lidia to Ben quietly as she continues looking down into the dark hole, swatting away the worst of the flies from her face. "I think our best bet is to get everyone else across then haul him up on the other side with the rope, assuming he can still walk and is conscious."
Then she calls out to the gnoll again. "Ulretha! Can you hear us?!"
GM_Grandlounge
The buzzing intensifies further. The third lilypad seems to move then 40ft up in the air appears an enormous dragonfly. Its wings flap, shaking free a dusty magic that causes the plants on the ground to grow.

Entangle is the turquoise area. Lidia, you know this is a fey. Ben you were not entangled on your turn. The creature is a ULTRAMARINE CHASER. It has DR cold iron. It also has the spell like abilities deep slumber (DC 13), entangle (DC 11), faerie fire, glitterdust (DC 12), major image (DC 13).
Little Ben PBP
Since Ben is not moving this round and Little Buddy is set to defend, those saves can be used anyway. I think. Not sure why he was not subject to the entanglement unless you mean it is because he made his save.
GM_Grandlounge
It was because you made the save. You still have difficult terrain and will need to save each round you remain in the area. Entanglement is important for attacks and AC during the round.
Lidia*

Lidia bangs Ben's bicep to get his attention.
"I know what that thing is. I've heard stories about them. It's called a Darter, an Ultramarine Darter. It's a fey creature. It can put you to sleep or blind you or use illusions, all so it can throw you off your guard and suck your blood out. And you need special cold iron weapons, or half the time your attacks just bounce off its shell."

Assuming Lidia doesn’t sink it, what kind of roll would I need to take a flying leap onto its back? :D Ideally after taking hold of one of the ropes...
Ulretha
|
Ulretha truly has no desire to try those jumps again. And riding the lily pads doesn't seem like a very good idea. Or, if he's going to, he at least wants to be on the one where he's trying to get to than the one that he started on.
So, keeping an eye out for the giant bug, he crosses the floor of the room he's in, ending up below Thyste and looking up at a climb he probably can't make.
Little Ben PBP
Are there any other lily pads on the ground floor, elevator style? Is the one that sank trying to return upwards or is it just staying there?
GM_Grandlounge
All of the other lily pads are at the top. Ulretha's is at the bottom as long as he keeps weight on it. But, he thinks as soon as he removes the weight it will pop back up.
Thyste the creature above you about 30ft. We will say you threw the end of the rope and tangled it in the vines above, so you will have to climb.

Ulretha said he was walking to the other side of the room, so the lily pad would no longer have his weight on it.

Tangled in the vines above? So, a vine is hanging down, and Thyste the swashbuckler could get a running start and swing tarzan-like on the vine to her target, perhaps with a little extra flip to gain some altitude at the end? This is almost too perfect.
