Trunt purchases a blown glass animal (boar if possible to commemorate the hunt) with multiple colors small enough to hang off of his clothing.
Trunt’s demeanor remains light while they discuss the sheriff’s motivations, but as soon as Isabella and Rowan tell their stories, he straightens up turns serious. ”My condolences. I haven’t had much interaction with them.”

Zandril Siska |

Zandril listens to the conversation, he'll add information where it needs to be added, but sits and listens for the most part.
Zandril doesn't have anything significant to ask at this point.
After dinner he'll walk the long way home; a quick patrol of the streets and make a stop at the Hagfish for a quick drink listening to the patrons stories of recent events.
He'll meet everyone the next morning at the Rusty Dragon for breakfast before going back to the graveyard with everyone.

Ironperenti |

Trunt was successful in finding a glass boar. It is made of a translucent brown and the mane is a dark smoky gray.
Everyone settles in for the night and those interested pop up early to join Shalelu at the graveyard. She is a naturally early riser but takes her time eating breakfast so that everyone so interested manages to find her at the Rusty Dragon or at the graveyard if they go straight there. At the gravesite she confirms what the heroes had found, the goblins had escaped over the wall by use of a ladder. A detail the others had not been able to ascertain is that there were a pair of full size humanoid prints among the goblin tracks that appeared to exit up the ladder as well.
"I will do a sweep around the town from north to south and work my way out. I will also try to see what I can learn up around Thistletop. Keep an eye out. If they do have a human working for them like you suggest, then he or she could be walking among us." With that, she answers any last minute questions and then departs out the north gate. The two guards on the gate let her out and then close it behind her.
You don't recall there being any guards on the north gate when you drove the goblins out that way and the gate was open.

Camil D'este |

Intelligence: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Taking in the scene as Shalelu departs, Camil considers for a moment and then approaches one of the guards at the gate.
Morning Sir, how's your day?" Awaiting the appropriate response, Camil continues:
"I'm wondering, is this a usual post assignment? I ask because I cannot recall anyone being on duty here when the goblins attacked the other day." Camil pauses to gauge the guard's reactions and see what they have to say.

Rowan Ellis |

Intelligence: 1d20 ⇒ 17
"I think that explains how they got into the center of town so easily. Nobody was on guard here during the festival, so they just climbed over the wall and marched right in."
When Shalelu leaves, he says "Good luck out there! And be careful. We don't know what this person is capable of."
Once all of the other party members are around, Rowan says "Now that we're officially members of the town guard, I think we should patrol in pairs. That way we can cover a lot of ground, but still not be alone if there's trouble."
Unless something else comes up, Rowan spends the rest of the day fulfilling his new duties as a guard by patrolling the town. He tries to get to know the people better, and does his best to reassure them that everything is now under control.

Trunt Zecks |

Trunt follows along not paying much attention to the conversation, but starts at the mention of there not being any guards there the day of the attack. He pays close attention to the guard's responses to Camil to see if they try to cover anything up concerning the guard duty that day.

Lavanor Garavon |

At dinner, Lavanor listens to the conversation about the goblins but doesn't add much as the rest of the group already states what they know and are wondering about.
When he has the opportunity, he ask Shalelu about the types of creatures they should expect in the surrounding area and comments about the noise they heard during their hunt. "I'm not from the area, so I'm not sure what is around. We did hear a very peculiar sound while on the hunt that I couldn't identify. Are there any unusual creatures we should watch out for?"
Interested to learn what he can from Shalelu about tracking, Lavanor wakes early and joins her for breakfast before heading over to the graveyard. He watches closely, trying to pick up any tips. "Do we have any idea what could have been buried with the cleric that someone would have wanted?" he asks.

Ironperenti |

@Runt: Shalelu smiles, "No thanks. I prefer to operate alone out there. I'm afraid you and your friends are going to have your hands full here. Something doesn't add up."
@Camil: "Val and Angus were on. They must have crapped themselves good. Quit the next morning." One of the guards, Doug, answers.
@Lavanor: After confirming you were out by the Devil's Platter she says, "Sounds like another Sandpoint Devil sighting. Well, hearing. It's an old legend around here. They say it feeds on horses."
"As for Father Tobyn's body, I have no idea. I can only think it was to get his bones or perhaps to cast a speak with dead. Maybe he knew something?"
@Trunt: You think Doug is lying.

Zandril Siska |

As they are looking over the grave site, Zandril asks Shalelu if she sees any signs of the body movements. Are there drag marks? Did it walk away? Signs of how they got it over the fence?

Ironperenti |

@Zandril: "As far as I can tell it was carried. There are no additional tracks that I can make out and these goblins prints here," she points to two sets. One looks like any other to you but the other is missing a toe. "They are deeper than when they walked up to the grave."

Runt PbP |

Her help being rejected, Runt will tag along behind Rowan, not knowing what else to do, though she is easily distracted by the market activities or anything for that matter. She is quite curious about the town.

Isabella Monstrance |

Isabella says agreeably, "Yes, we should work in teams, I think."
But, she seems at a loss to decide who she should work with.

Trunt Zecks |

Trunt waits for the others to go off and engage in a conversation to...
Stealth if needed: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Ironperenti |

"Well, I was supposed to be on guard but Val said he wanted the post. He paid me a silver to take the shift. I guess I got lucky. He was so rattled about what happened he quit. Last I heard he was headed to Magnimar."
The group breaks themselves up into teams. The afternoon and mid-watch teams head back toward the Rusty Dragon while the day team starts walking about town. At the Rusty Dragon the others sit down to work out plans.
Where does the day team head first? What do the others do?

Camil D'este |

Camil will casually strike up a card game at the Rusty Dragon, "So Lavanor, tell me, where are you from? I'm originally from Riddleport, but I've been living here a couple of years in town."
Looking at the cards in his hand, he frowns, I fold, that's unfortunate. I guess the hours we're working are not the best, but I suppose this will pay better than playing cards all night. Honest work, can't say I've ever tried it. Camil finishes, laughing.
Considering the scope of town, Camil address Zandril and Lavanor, "So where should we focus while we're walking around keeping an eye out? At night, would it be better to stay sort of around the center of town, or should we stay near the edges?"

Trunt Zecks |

Trunt meets up with the others and joins in fluidly with the conversation about groups and watches, ”Well, how about Runt, Isabella and I take a daytime watch? We can patrol around and then get you guys if we need to.”
After the conversation wraps up, Trunt will pull Rowan and Camil to the side and says...
By the way, I don’t particularly mind if other people want to read what I spoiler, my character is just secretive so character knowledge will be bit different than player knowledge. Up to you.

Zandril Siska |

Zandril will likely get some rest until mid morning. He'll then walk about town on his own taking in a bit of fresh air. First walking along the docks enjoying the sounds of the merchant ships loading up. Eventually he'll make his way back to the Rusty Dragon for lunch and to meet up with Camil and Lavanor.

Isabella was changed to Rowan, so the team is Trunt, Runt, and Rowan. Has a ring to it, don't you think?
Delighted to be included Runt smiles, grabs a few things, and is ready to set off in a couple of minutes.
"Let's start with the market before all the good deals are gone!"

Trunt Zecks |

Whoops, my bad

Rowan Ellis |

Rowan sets off to patrol the town with the help of Runt and Trunt. He talks with the people in the market, explaining that the heroes from the attack on the festival have volunteered to join the town guard for a while. He will also ask people if they happened to notice anybody new passing through town in the days before the attack.
During the shift, Rowan asks Runt "How are you liking the city life so far Runt? I know it's got to be pretty different from what you're used to."

Ironperenti |

@Isabella: Valtyra and Wrath because you all have darkvision and it is the late night shift.
Runt, Rowan, and Trunt move into the marketplace. At the same time the others are sitting down at the Rusty Dragon to get a drink or snack, talk a bit and then hit the sack for those on the swing shift. As they enter, the older halfling waitress approaches them.
"Please ladies and good sirs. I have a concern if you could help me with it?" Getting at least a nod from someone in the group she continues, "My mistress, Ameiko, is missing and I'm afraid she may be in trouble. She is normally up when I arrive or shortly thereafter. Once you all left from breakfast she still had not come down so I went up to check on her. She was not in her room and I found this."
She hands the nearest person a letter. On the front it is written in a language no one recognizes but on the back someone has written it out in common. "The letter was written in my Mistress' native tongue. Luckily she taught me the letters so I translated it. It's from her older brother Tsuto. He was a bad one that boy was."
The letter:
Hello, sis!
I hope this letter finds you well, and with some free time on your hands, because we’ve got something of a problem. It’s to do with father. Seems that he might have had something to do with Sandpoint’s recent troubles with the goblins, and I didn’t want to bring the matter to the authorities because we both know he’d just weasel his way out of it. You’ve got some pull here in town, though. If you can meet me at the Glassworks at midnight tonight, maybe we can figure out how to make sure he faces the punishment he deserves. Knock twice and then three times more and then once more at the delivery entrance and I’ll let you in.
In any case, I don’t have to impress upon you the delicate nature of this request. If news got out, you know these local rubes would assume that you and I were in on the whole thing too, don’t you? They’ve got no honor at all around these parts. I still don’t understand how you can stand to stay here.
Anyway, don’t tell anyone about this. There are other complications as well, ones I’d rather talk to you in person about tonight. Don’t be late.
Tsuto

Lavanor Garavon |

Lavanor politely declines a seat at the table for the card game. "I'm originally from Crying Leaf. Lately, I've been travelling around, taking jobs as a guide to earn some coin. I was in the area and heard about the festival, so I came to see what it was about. As far as our patrol, I was interested in asking Father Zantus if he had any ideas about why someone would want to dig up Father Tobyn. After that, maybe stay near the center of town earlier and then move towards the outskirts once it starts getting dark."
He pauses when the server approaches them with the note. "Or we could look into this now," he says after reading the note. "They might not still be there, but we can see if we notice anything. I think we should all go," he says to the group.
Turning to the woman, "Do you know anything about their father?" Lavanor asks.

Trunt goes around to all of the shops he’s already visited to gather up tidbits about Val and Angus.

Runt PbP |

Runt looks a bit wild eyed, like she has been trapped with a question she should be able to answer but can't.
"Uh, I don't know. I thought we were just supposed to be wandering around looking impressive. I guess I could ask questions about... monsters? I know a bit about monsters, but I could always learn more."
Runt is just not getting the hang of this private eye thing going on.

Zandril Siska |

"How old is the note?Did you find the note this morning when you came in or did someone deliver it this morning? Is 'midnight' last midnight or this upcoming midnight?"

Camil D'este |

Looking at the note on the table, Camil sighs, I guess we should go find everyone else, this seems very suspicious.
Camil stands and waits for the others to join before heading out to find the rest.

Isabella Monstrance |

Isabella decides to get in an afternoon nap before meeting with Wrath and Valtyra, so that she can stay up for the night shift.

Ironperenti |

@Isabella: are you going to go with Camil and the others to find the active patrol?
The others (all interested parties, assume everyone) join Camil to take this new development to Rowan and the day patrol. Isabella recalls hearing Runt asking to head to the market first so they head in that direction.
At the market Trunt and the others ask about while looking at the wares. They don't get any additional insight on Val and Angus but they do get the locations of their homes. Angus stayed in the guards' barracks but Val had a small house behind the theatre (map updated).
Shortly after finding out about Val's home, the two groups spot each other and meet on the east side of the market.

Camil D'este |

Seeing the other group, Camil waves: "We've found something that may be a clue? It may be much later tonight though. Does anyone here know anything about the family, or what may be happening? I think we're on to something, and maybe they know about it?"
Looking from one to another, "It seems like this is worth following up late tonight and introducing ourselves around town some; especially if these folks may know a thing or two."
Knowledge local: 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 7 + (6) = 19
Realizing he may have remembered something about the family, he politely lets everyone else fill in any details before sharing what he remembers.

Isabella Monstrance |

"Well, the Kaijitsu family are wealthy and influential in town," says Isabella in response to Camil, once the groups meet up. "The glassworks is just one of their investment industries. But Ameiko and her father had a falling out many years ago. I've never really pried for the details - I've seen Ameiko about town from time to time but I wouldn't say I know her well enough to be 'friends'."

Ironperenti |

All locals know: Lonjiku Kaijitsu's wife Kiana leaped to her death from their balcony in the middle of the night about five years ago. It would have been a significant scandal but Chopper was active and then the Cathedral burned.
Bethana, the serving maid, fears Ameiko went to meet Tsuto last night because Ameiko's bed was fully made.

Runt PbP |

"Um, OK. Let's go. I'm pretty good at getting folks to cough up info. Give me a couple of hours with this brother and I figure I can get him to talk. But do you think they are still there?"

Camil D'este |

l don’t know how i missed that detail, Isabella, but that may be a clue indeed. Camil responds to the Cleric.
Considering Runts addition, I’m personally fine with checking out the glassworks tonight and seeing what comes of it. They did deputize us after all! Between the group of us I think we can figure out what’s going on, without being untoward.
Adding the last to the collective, and making sure everyone is on the same page. I bet we can cash in on our good work after for a few drinks to de-stress ourselves as well!

Rowan Ellis |

Once the situation is explained, Rowan says "It sounds to me like this meeting took place yesterday, and Ameiko left early this morning. I think that she might have wanted us to follow her. Otherwise, why leave the letter out in the open? I think we should head to the glassworks and start looking for her and her brother at once. I want to know why he thinks their father was involved in the attack. Could Lonjiku really be the culprit?"

Zandril Siska |

Zandril agrees with Rowan, "I say we head there immediately and investigate. Does anyone need to grab any equipment before we go?"

Runt PbP |

"Nope. Geared up for the patrol."

Lavanor Garavon |

"Let's go!" Lavanor says as he starts to move but then realizes he doesn't know where the glassworks is and waits for someone more knowledgeable of the town layout to lead the way.

Trunt Zecks |

Trunt follows along with the others when they join up.

Ironperenti |

Zandril leads everyone down Water St, to Gull St and then finally to Glass Street approaching the glassworks from the south. As you approach, all is quiet. The chimneys still billow smoke but there is no foot traffic. The locals know this to be a little odd. Usually there are customers coming and going. A quick look at the main showroom windows (closest to the south) reveal the curtains have been drawn.
The map is oriented with North to the right. White squares/rectangles are doors, the bluish white are windows. The map is updated.

Runt PbP |

Runt heads over and tries the door. At least I think that is a door

Isabella Monstrance |

"Well that's odd. Why is there smoke still coming from the glassworks if there's nobody inside and it's all closed up?" says Isabella. She nervously releases the clasp on her falchion, juuust in case of trouble.

Valtyra Valdemar |
"Perhaps they are working on a private project and don't want to be disturbed," Valtyra suggests with not much conviction in her voice.
