Rowan Ellis's page

Rowan's earliest memory is that of fire and screams. According to his adoptive father, the rural farming village that Rowan was born in was destroyed in a goblin attack. His parents, a pair of simple farmers, perished in the flames, but not before giving Rowan to a kind neighbor, who brought the child to safety on his cart. Rowan's memories of the tragedy are hazy at best.

The orphaned boy was taken in by Father Bentius, an elderly priest of Erastil that lived in a nearby village. Bentius was a strict but loving father, and he instilled Erastil's values of community in his son. Rowan soon became as devoted to Erastil as his father. Bentius taught him how to channel the Erastil's power, and Rowan was eager to use his newfound power to help the people. He healed the injured, protected the crops, and hunted down threats to the community. He was particularly happy to take the fight to Varisia's goblins, knowing that they were responsible for killing his parents.

Eventually, Rowan decided it was time to move on from his village. Leaving his home in the capable hands of Father Bentius, Rowan struck out to find other communities that needed his help. Hearing about the construction of a new cathedral, he decided to head for Sandpoint. Rowan knew of Sandpoint's goblin problems. Perhaps his services would be needed to protect Erastil's newest temple.

Rowan is kind, gentle, and always eager to lend a hand. He tends to get along with people easily. He is highly devoted to Erastil, and will try to spread the word of his god where he can, but he isn't pushy about it. Rowan respects that people have the right to choose their own path in life, and chooses to lead by example rather than coercion. He prefers to work together with others when he can, and quickly gets lonely if he is by himself for too long. He is quick to trust people, even people who he probably shouldn't. However, he has little patience for those he knows to be untrustworthy. He can be quite stubborn, and refuses to compromise his morals even for the greater good.

Rowan is tall and athletic. He has light brown hair and brown eyes. He has lightly tanned skin, as he spends most of his time outdoors. He wears simple leather armor and carries a longbow and quiver. His gear is in somewhat rough condition. He always prominently displays a silver holy symbol of Erastil
