"Well solved, team! I am glad we could return those spirits to quiet rest."
Quinn follows suit and drinks from the waters.

I'll assume that someone who's able uses Kahru's wand to heal him and Quinn. Two charges each ought to do it, I think.

"Lepo hyvin, kunnioitetut soturit."
Oiur gazes at their reflection in the pool—Is that a kind of peace in your eyes?—before they dip their hands for a drink, dispelling the image with ripples.

They look to Kahru. "You hear about them in stories, but you so rarely see the ancestors. It makes what Lumketul did even worse." They point to the northwest door. (near the #2/Quinn on the map) "Let's keep fixing what he broke. Lore Whisperer should be that way."
I vote we head to the "ring goes here" room!

The Artist Formerly Known As… |

The Artist Formerly Known As Cudak Tanagak nods in agreement with their idea. Seconded!

GM Kate |

The group proceeds. In the center of this circular room is a platform overlooking a shallow pit. Inside the pit is a heavily damaged sarcophagus and a broken skeleton.
It looks like the sarcophagus originally sat on the platform.

![]() |

"Such disrespect. I'll push from below, you pull from above, and we'll things put back right." Kahru takes a moment to focus, his ursine jaw shrinking a bit, while long claws jut from his fingers (shifting from bite attack to climb speed). He then climbs down into the pit and prepares to heave the sarcophagus back up to the platform.
If that doesn't trigger anything:

The Artist Formerly Known As Cudak Tanagak gets out his traveler's any-tool and forms it into a hooked pulley. He then runs a rope through its wheel, and tosses an end down to Kahru.
All the while he sings a song about the power of teamwork and the magic of wheels!
2 rounds? One to get the song going and one for the aid check?
Aid, strength: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 :/

Oiur nods at The Artist Formerly Known As Cudak Tanagak's ingenuity. "Work harder, not stronger."
"Or both!" They hop down into the pit and position themself to help Kahru.
Aid, strength: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10

GM Kate |

Kahru hoists the cracked sarcophagus out of the pit, with Oiur's steady hand guiding him and TAFKACT's song inspiring him.
One more Strength check to get it positioned on the platform.

"Ah, well done, all! Glad we could help you bear the load, Kahru," Quinn says with a wink.
He then positions himself to help the others hoist the sarcophagus onto the platform.

Climbing from the pit, Kahru sighs. "Oso that's how it is. You better be careful with those kind of jokes, Quinn, or there'll be trouble bruin."
Once in position, he once again places his shoulder against the sarcophagus. He feels the powerful yet easy listening music flow through him as he times his heave to coincide with his allies efforts.

Strength, song: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12

The entire crew carefully guides the sarcophagus into place on the platform. (The skeleton and sarcophagus are still damaged. Also, what would you like to do with the ring?)

The Artist Formerly Known As… |

The Artist Formerly Known As Cudak Tanagak will use the stone to repair the sarcophagus and skeleton as best he can.
What do you think? Should the ring go on this one's finder? I'm not sure.

The Artist Formerly Known As… |

finger :)

![]() |

"That is what Hearth Keeper told us." Kahru places the ring upon the skeleton's finger, bows his head for a moment, and closes the sarcophagus.

GM Kate |

The room is still and peaceful. A sense of unease has disappeared.

The Artist Formerly Known As… |

Shall we replace the statue next?

![]() |

"Lepo hyvin, tarinankerros." Kahru rises and turns to The Artist Formerly Known as Cudak Tanagak. "Yes, let's move on."

GM Kate |

On your way to the room where the statue goes, you find a room in shambles. Pottery shards in a variety of vibrant hues litter the floor. The staircase leading to the east leads to a dead end. Doors exit
to north and west.

The Artist Formerly Known As… |

A rainbow of sadness, these broken pots.
He begins trying to piece them together using the scavenger's stone, trying to fit pieces together. Is there a check we can make on these?

GM Kate |

The scavenger's stone can't do much until the shards are more or less sorted with the shards from the same piece. You can do this with an Appraise check or a relevant Craft or Profession check.
Alternatively, you can just try to fit shards together until you see what fits, but this requires a Sleight of Hand check not to break anything further.

![]() |

Quinn examines the kaleidoscope of clay scattered across the floor, analyzing the jagged edges and stains in hopes of finding matching pieces.

However, he keeps trying to fit straight-edged shards of pottery onto curved ones.

Kahru looks down at his clawed hands, then closes his eyes, reverting to his human form. He picks up a piece to examine it, nearly drops it, and sets it gingerly back down. "I think I'll just look and leave the fiddly bits to you."

![]() |

He once again concentrates, his features returning to bear form.
Appraise to aid, untrained: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

GM Kate |

Quinn ignores everyone else's suggestions and sorts the piles based on his own knowledge of Shoanti pottery.
You can use one charge from the scavenger's stone for each of the five piles to restore the pots.

Oiur taps a thumb against their chin as they observe Quinn's handywork. "See this bit here? Why don't you try..."

Quinn gently pats Kahru and The Artist Formerly Known As Cudak Tanagak on the shoulder. "Do not worry, friends. You tried your best, and that's what matters. I want you both to know that, despite everything."
Let's restore those pots!

GM Kate |

Pots restored!

DC 15, fear effect
All light levels become total darkness, and darkvision cannot see through it. The room no longer seems to be the chamber that it was—they feel wind on their faces and hear rustling leaves and running water—and they
cannot exit the area. You also hear a bark echoing from the darkness.
Oiur knows that this haunt is immune to positive energy damage, just like the previous haunt.

The bark echoes as if in a cavern, and you see a chasm inside a cave, stretching across.

By my understanding, you're at a +8 from speed. However...
While The Artist Formerly Known As Cudak Tanagak, Quinn, and Kahru struggle to cross the chasm, Oiur, with some magical assistance just makes it to the other side. The rest of the party find themselves next to Oiur as the scene changes.
