I've always tended to prefer it when there's four, I like running for three too. The problem is you put a recruitment up, see all the effort people put in and can't help but push the numbers a bit to give everyone a chance...

I always run my in-person games with 3-4 because I like making sure everyone has a chance to shine. It's definitely easier to stretch with PBP where people can put so much more into each post and there's a fair amount of player attrition anyway, but you've hit the nail on the head with why it's difficult to limit.

In this case, I made things extra hard for myself because I left so much of what the game itself is up to the players, which means not only do I have awesome character submissions, but the game settings and themes and styles are also so very different and to be honest I want very much to run all of them but know that I can't. Part of why I haven't made a decision yet is that I'm trying to weigh whether I could do two of them...

You can do it... you can do it...!

As much as I may be shooting myself in the foot here (and gaining ugly looks from my partner-in-crime), I would say a single game that is really good and that you have the time on which to spend is better than two (or three) games that end up being mediocre because your efforts are stretched too thin.

Yes, I want to play, but I would rather you enjoy it vs potentially burning out running more than you feel comfortable running.

Ditto, it's tempting to push yourself, but best to stick to what you know you can execute on. Spoken by someone who spent years stretching himself too thin.

With my angel hat on. Itzi is right, do one game and do it brilliantly.

Do it... do it...

You ok Yorick?

Yeah, huge apologies for the delay gang, I unexpectedly dropped & broke my laptop the other night (in mid-post, of course), which is limiting my availability more than a bit at current. I'm buying a replacement tonight or tomorrow, though!

Not to pile on the pressure, but it's now 2 weeks from the close of submissions. We're curious when we'll know who was selected.

TigerClaw (Benjamin) and I will be retracting our submission, it's just been too long without knowing. We wish everyone the best of luck with their game.

Managed to get that new laptop yet?

No, it's being shipped from California so I still have a few days wait which has been very annoying for me. All the same, I recognise that Tiger Claw and ylannisph are not wrong that it's frustrating on the other side as well. I didn't want to get too far into planning things without a working machine, but it's also not fair to all of you to have you be waiting around.

So I've broken out my phone and gone back through things, and I've decided that the group will be Nikolaus de'Shade & Itzi. Every submission had things I really loved, but I'm most excited to hear more about these two.

I'll get the Campaign itself set up tomorrow morning so we can dot and I can start posing you some questions so we can do some world building. I apologise again for the delays, hoping we can actually get started proper very soon.

Very excited, thanks for the selection Yorick! Feel very lucky given the excellent competition we had!

Cool! Definitely looking forward to this.

YoricksRequiem thank you for your consideration.

Best of luck to all 3 of you in your upcoming campaign :)

Same here.
