After a quarter of a mile spent trooping through the dark tunnels, they path opens into a vast underground chamber.
At the far end of this cavernous grotto, the dull glow of foul-scented copper braziers illuminates the massive facade of an impossibly twisted temple coarsely chiseled into the living rock. The temple resembles the face of a hideous three-eyed jackal, flanked everywhere by pillars carved in the shape of gruesome copulating monstrosities.
Three creatures prowl about the chamber. Earless, panther-like beasts that snarl as the skin of their faces twitches, then peels back to reveal the bone and flesh beneath.

You see the creatures before they see you. It's a massive cavern so no surprise round but you get a round to prepare, if you want it, before they respond to your presence.
The scene is visible on the map now, slide three.

Victor, we will save your attack for when you are up.
Skullface (Su) As a standard action, a krenshar can pull the skin back from its face, revealing the musculature and bony structures of its skull. This counts as using Intimidate to demoralize an opponent, and is an extraordinary ability. The krenshar can emit a loud screech while peeling back its skin, causing potent fear in a single creature within 100 feet that can see the krenshar. The targeted creature must make a DC 12 Will save or become frightened (if the target has 6 or fewer Hit Dice) or shaken (if the target has more than 6 Hit Dice) for 1d4 rounds. A creature that successfully saves cannot be affected again by the same krenshar’s skullface ability for 24 hours. This is a sonic, mind-affecting fear effect. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Xim's explosive slays the red-eyed creature and burns its companion.

Sorry, you said we had a round to prepare, so I thought that meant we could charge :-/ In that case, I will activate my Wand of Shield in the preparation round.
GM Elberion |
No worries. The chamber is meant to be vast and thus is just the end of it. Consider your places on the map to be when you got close enough to figure out what that noise was by those rocks. I suppose I could have given space for Kermit to show off his archery skills but I figured we could stick to Paizo’s map rather than adding my own stuff.
GM Elberion |
Ha! My Welsh is just a few phrases from my dad. I had to look that up, the only word I knew was peidiwch.
Le Kyra Pregen |
My Welsh is worse than yours. I know nothing if not for a translator. ;)
Been there just once on vacation many years ago.
Kyra lays her hand on Zadim's shoulder.
"May her grace guide your aim."
Guidance.

For every 5 points by which you beat the DC you may ask one question.
Roderick Xim |
No kn:planes for Roderick Xim. Also, with his readied action, should he move down to just before the appearance of the first gnoll and/slaver?
I guess maybe that does not really move him much.
I was asking since I did not see anyone bolded in the above.
Just grand! More to the party. he exclaims sarcastically as the newcomers pour into the room.
GM Elberion |
Good call, Xim. Changes made.
I somehow made a mistake every time I posted the latest round, then when I got it right I was timed out. It is now correct. XIm and Kermit are up.
GM Elberion |
Did you resolve the murderous command?
It happens on its turn, I think. I'll roll the save now.
will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16Incidentally, I don't know much about the psychic class. How do you get the DC of level 1 spell so high?
Roderick Xim |
Roderick trudges forward as he shakes up another explosive cocktail for the new arrivals.
Let us give them a nice house warming gift.
He hurls the fire bomb into the group, targetting the square of the jackal creature (assuming that is the one with the dashed outline?)
Bomb, range touch, cover, pb: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 1 - 4 = 11 AC5 ?

No worries. It's just Spell Focus and my INT bonus on the spell DC--but I forgot to update my stat lines when I bought my headband. Fixed now.
