We are laboring mightily to reduce your workload.

Something I just remembered that I might want to use in the future, the Outsider Friend boon from the Regional Support Program. As I understand it, this is an account wide boon that can be used by any of my characters. The feature I’m most likely to want to use is the add 1d6 to a saving throw against an outsider.
You can see the boon sheet here - Regional Support Program Boon. As you can see, I’ve used it once already.
Mechanically, I’m not sure how this would be used in PBP since I know that announcing all the saving throws before they’re rolled would slow things down substantially.

GM Blake |

My recommendation would depend on how agressively you want to use up the boon.

For your future T-rex reference (and reduction in dice confusion):
Multiple Creatures: Multiple creatures can attempt to grapple one target. The creature that first initiates the grapple is the only one that makes a check, with a +2 bonus for each creature that assists in the grapple (using the Aid Another action). Multiple creatures can also assist another creature in breaking free from a grapple, with each creature that assists (using the Aid Another action) granting a +2 bonus on the grappled creature’s combat maneuver check.

I think we have at least one more big, mean demon encounter after this one. If/when we do this next encounter, I'd like to use the boon for the first will save that Candi has to roll because of something done by a demon.

I'd be willing to fight anyway, but you are the GM.

The Gameplay thread is confusing me a little. (Maybe because I seem to be the only fool who hasn't already read the scenario?) ;-)
Seems like the party knows there's one more fight, against a 'Shazzamian', and we may or may not have time to complete that encounter. Votes so far seem to indicate a consensus to quit this fight to give us more time to fight the next encounter? (Any or all these assumptions might be incorrect on my part.)
I'm cool with whatever you guys want to do. I'll trust your more informed judgment.

The Overseer has given the GMs notice to finish up and not start new encounters. We were discussing how we could go after the last target for funsies.
The shemazian was listed as one of our first three options to challenge here.

Sister Ayako has it correct. We are actually almost done with the scenario as a whole.
It is a Shemhazian (gargantuan Demon) and 2 Nalfeshnee (huge spellcasting demons).
They have some rather nasty abilities between them.

Boon Rolls!
Ayako: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Candi: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Elric: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Obsidean: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Slim: 1d20 ⇒ 15
GM Silbeg: 1d20 ⇒ 19 choice: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Huh... that was unexpected

I have the advantage of knowing a couple of folks playing at other tiers in this scenario, and that's helped give me a slightly better sense of what's going on. Nonetheless, there is a strong "fog of war," where we know what we've been doing, but don't necessarily know what others are doing or how, or if, our actions are helping them. When this is all over, I would like to find a copy of the scenario and give it a read.
I'm fine stopping because I think we've done our job. We've killed the three of our possible targets identified as key demon leaders. Hopefully, that will have significant effect on the overall outcome of the attack on Nerosyan (assuming the scenario has some way of judging whether or not we succeeded or failed in defeating the attack).

Oh, don’t worry.
There are rules on the level of successes. You have done well.
And doing these pbp does give less of a feel on how things are going. For sure
That's gratifying. It's been a lot of fun, and it's nice to know that we've been successful.
In terms of the effect of doing this PBP, that's one of things I was thinking might have an impact. The feel of this scenario is probably very, very different if everyone is one big room.
As we're winding down, I'd like to thank all of you for making this a really cool experience. As I mentioned when we began, this was only my 2nd second time doing PFS PBP, and I appreciate your patience and assistance. If any of you have suggestions or feedback, please don't hesitate to send them my way.

Well as this was my first play by post I hope the learing pains were not too bad^^.
It was a very fun game and a grat opportunity to play one of my seekers again.

I am glad that you all had fun, and that you were able to put up with me trying to handle all the crazy.
I really do appreciate that everyone was willing to allow retcons and the like, as needed. Sometimes the timing of PBP can be weird, and hard to adjudicate. I appreciate all of your flexibility.
I am also glad that the horrible confusion around the Balor was able to be sorted out, and that deaths were minimized.
Please take a moment to check out your reporting information at the beginning of the thread, and make sure that it is still correct. I'll try and get the chrons to you as fast as possible.
@Elric, you should now try a MUCH lower level game... they are FAR easier in PBP, as there are fewer moving parts! Hope I didn't ruin the experience for you.
As always, I appreciate any feedback you all can give me to make me a better GM in the future.

And I thought I was the crazy one around here. Seeker tier is a hell of a baptism by fire for PbP, but for what it is worth y'all seemed like seasoned pros to me!
Edit: Whoops, never actually submitted this!
Player Name: Steven
Character Name: Ayako
PFS#: 3217-5
Faction: The Exchange
Starting XP: 39
Starting Fame: 79
Starting Prestige: 52
Starting Gold: 88257
Day job (roll): Perform Oratory: 1d20 + 36 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 36 + 2 = 40

Thanks for GMing, Silbeg.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Take care y'all. Since I'm apparently a glutton for demonic punishment, I've signed up Candi for Rasping Rebirth at Outpost II.

![]() |

Indeed. One of my characters was marked dead after playing that scenario. Good luck!

Thanks much. What level of victory did we achieve? Was it overwhelming?
