The Mngwa growls and bares its teeth at the agents. He releases his grip on stuinvolk and withdraws into the darkness.
Once the beast is away, Stuinvolk comes back to his senses. "That thing. It sounds are that of my friends who have died here."
Seeing the beast up close, now it is more noticebal. The creature eye color matches that of Stuinvolk.
Aroden, begins to put all the pieces together. He realizes that Mngwa is not only a curse from the spirits of Mwangi Expanse, but also an external manifestation of Stuinvolk's survivors guilt.
With the sounds of nature coming back, the pathinders can attempt to get more shut eye if they can.

After the battle:
As the beast flees Zaarah thinks a moment to follow but then starts smiling and then laughing!
”Ha ha ha! That was great!! I love the sound of battle! Fighting against all odds!! Ha ha ... “ she laughs a little crazily.
Next day:

Zaarah tries to help Roldala with navigation ... unfortunately she has no orientation.

But she uses the time to talk to Roldala.
”Wow, you really pack a punch!! Good to have you with us to be our guide AND protector! But I am also wondering how we can really get rid of this beast?“
Zaarah approaches Stuinvolk.
”How are you today?? I have my experience with crazy so maybe we have to get rid of this thing only after you have found closure! We are with you on this path!“ she says smiling.

Didn't realize the Mgnwa had grappled Stuinvolk. For future reference, Aroden keeps a Liberating Command prepped and will use it as an immediate action if Stuinvolk is grappled again.
Did we get Stuinvolk fully healed?
Aroden's spell protects him from the heat again, and he tries to help with the navigation.

Vague memories from a distant place leave him quite certain about the direction to go.
He continues talking to Stuinvolk about travels and travails. "As Zaarah said, we are with you. Should that creature come back, I have now prepared a spell of vanishing to use on you, and I would ask that you accept it. I believe it is acceptable to 'hide from your demons' in a strictly literal sense when they are tangible and about to eat you."

Varisia is an interesting place, full of such historical sites. If it's grappling him, it probably can't take AOOs (unless it is grappling at a -20).
Aroden will take advantage of this. He stands (Move action), takes a 5' step, casts Liberating Command as a Swift, and Vanish as a Standard. Spending two reservoir points (Potent Magic) to boost the CL of Liberating Command. Stuinvolk gets an Escape Artist check at an additional +14 as an immediate action.
Since the Mngwa is (hopefully) no longer grappling by the time Aroden casts Vanish, casting defensively is necessary.
Concentration DC 17: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
