Unfortunately, Gilliby’s spells do not overcome the resistance of the devils. They seem to have a stronger resistance than a normal devil of this type. Obsidian asks the blind cat to protect the withered little Venture-Captain as he causes the room to shake, gathering power within himself, then sends a sphere of metal hurtling at the snake-haired lady hovering above the pool.
displacement, miss on a 1: 1d2 ⇒ 2
The metal sphere strikes true. Obsidian travels along with the sphere of metal, arriving in front of the Medusa, then falls with a splash into the pool ten feet below. (Since the water is only 5’ deep you take normal falling damage and are prone: falling damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 ALSO: I know you can only fail the FORT save on a 1, but you need to save against petrifying gaze DC 21)
Brun cries out in pain, then pushes Gilliby out of harm’s way. (Normally I’d ask for a bull rush or something but I doubt Gilliby will resist Brun’s efforts at this time.) Delduwath sends a barrage of arrows at one of the devils. Two of them strike home, although the fiend seems to resist some of the damage.

The Medusa quickly concentrates and there now appears to be two of her. She then casts a spell (Spellcraft DC 21+1 per 10’ distance), and the two copies of herself simultaneously disappear and reappear across the room.

The red fiend looks at the other and speaks, ”Lyz’w zrie zmy vortmyr! fuozyyl oyyz kitc zmiz-i-sih ul zmy quwdsih vorv oujy oyyz ajyr.” They both then step five feet away from Xavier, concentrate for a moment, then disappear and reappear on either side of Delduwath.

Actually, Obsidian only needs to save against her gaze if he's within 30' at the start of his turn. Also, Delduwath has a +4 bow, which I believe overcomes DR/alignment.

"Delduwath, they're planning to flan..Oop. Nevermind. That's not the medusa--I repeat, that's not the medusa; she's invisible!"

Xavier shifts his gaze between Obsidian and Delduwath and decides that Delduwath is in more trouble than Obsidian. He studies the Red Devil and steps towards it.

@Obsidian Your DR would apply to falling damage and the pool is definitely not adamantine. Obsidian raises himself up out of the pool on a pillar of stone. The DC to make a long jump 15’ from a wet pillar of stone without a running start would be: 15 (long jump) +2 (wet/slightly slippery)=17, then doubled (no running start)=DC 34. Obsidian tries to jump from his newly-made pillar but comes up short and falls back in the pool. The Medusa is still airborne (not flying technically; air walk). Her armor is leather and she’s armed with a longbow, so that’s a no re: metal.

Gilliby retrieves a potion then casts a spell hoping to blind the Hamatulas.

DC 0 actually; to snipe you take a -20 penalty to stealth, and because she's invisible she gets an inherent +20 to stealth, and since she didn't actively stealth then it stays at 20-20 which is 0. But the argument could be made that she is no longer moving after the attack thus she has a +40 to her stealth from invisibility instead of a +20, which would indeed make it a DC 20 (Don't you love it when a grown man contradicts himself?)

OR one could argue that because she wasn't specifically sniping (which is basically its own full-round action) that she doesn't get the -20. But she did full-attack therefore she only gets a +20 to the perception DC. Therefore the DC goes from 0 to 20. ;P

Resolving Delduwath’s previous turn…
Delduwath starts firing his bow right next to the Hamatulas. Red is blind but blue is not so he gets an AOO for each shot.
BLUE claw 1, flanking: 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 18 + 2 = 37 damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11 BLUE GRAB, flanking: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 22 + 2 = 25 impale damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (5, 4, 3) + 9 = 21
BLUE claw 2, flanking: 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 18 + 2 = 35 damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15 BLUE GRAB, flanking: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 22 + 2 = 44 impale damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4, 8) + 9 = 27
So as you try to take your second shot you get hit, grabbed and impaled. Since you're grappled you can't shoot any more arrows and that turn is over. Knowing this, we now need you to change the turn you just made. You would have started your turn grappled. I'll wait for your turn before advancing. I will also note that Xavier destroyed the red Hamatula.

Let’s see if I can make sense of this (this entire post is OOC FYI, I just don’t want to redo the coding for each new line):

First the devils teleport to flank Delduwath.

Then Xavier attacks, but doesn’t kill, the red Hamatula.

Because red wasn’t dead, Delduwath attempts to jump away from the devils which would require an Acrobatics check vs their CMD+5 to move through their square (seeing as how Delduwath was being flanked). Delduwath failed the check, so the Hamatulas got to take AoOs—but because of Gilliby’s glitterdust they had to make saves or be blinded.

GM Picatrix wrote:
BLUE WILL DC20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 RED WILL DC20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Red became blind, thus it couldn’t take the AoO provoked from Delduwath’s failed Acrobatics check, so only blue took an AoO.

GM Picatrix wrote:
BLUE claw, flanking: 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 18 + 2 = 27 damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 8) + 6 = 21 grab, flanking: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 22 + 2 = 38 impale damage:3d8 + 9 ⇒ (7, 6, 5) + 9 = 27

Blue didn’t hit Delduwath with its AoO (Delduwath’s AC is 33). Then Delduwath proceeds with his turn, shooting at Red (as mentioned here and as reiterated here), this action provokes (as Picatrix mentioned here and as per Table 7-2), so both Red and Blue take another AoO—BUT Red is still blind from glitterdust, so it can’t take the AoO, so only Blue takes it.

GM Picatrix wrote:
BLUE claw 1, flanking: 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 18 + 2 = 37 damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11 BLUE GRAB, flanking: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 22 + 2 = 25impale damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (5, 4, 3) + 9 = 21

Blue hits Delduwath for 11 damage but fails to grapple him. However Delduwath only shot once, but Picatrix took two AoOs for blue provoked from Delduwath shooting a ranged weapon when Delduwath only shot once. I believe this confusion arose either from the fact that it was labeled “first attack” despite being the only attack, or from when Delduwath reiterated his first attack and Picatrix took it as being two separate attacks—whatever the reason, Picatrix though that Delduwath took more than one attack, which would indeed provoke for each shot fired, but remember that Delduwath tried to move through one of the hamatula’s square which would require a move action, meaning that Delduwath couldn’t attack more than once, as Picatrix interpreted—THUS this attack:

GM Picatrix wrote:
BLUE claw 2, flanking: 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 18 + 2 = 35 damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15 BLUE GRAB, flanking: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 22 + 2 = 44impale damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4, 8) + 9 = 27

Didn’t happen because Delduwath only shot once. Delduwath’s turn finally ends.

The hamatulas, one blind and neither grappling, then proceed to full-attack Delduwath, Blue rolls a nat 20 but fails to confirm.

GM Picatrix wrote:

Only one hit for 19 damage.

Only the non-confirmed nat 20 hits Delduwath (for 19 damage) and that attack fails to grab him.

Xavier then proceeds to full-attack Red which kills it (as confirmed by Picatrix here), and shouts at Gilliby to either glitterdust the medusa or freedom of movement Delduwath, both because I, as a player, thought that Delduwath was grappled, and because Delduwath was flanked by two things that could grapple him.

Gilliby, not understanding that Delduwath wasn’t grappled, casts liberating command on Delduwath.

With Red dead and Delduwath not grappled, he 5-foot-steps into the space that Red previously occupied and then full-attacks at Blue, and because Blue doesn’t have reach, none of these ranged attacks provoke. Now because I know quite a bit about Barbed devils and Xavier rolled crazy-high to identify the Hamatulas, I know that they have a 26 AC, meaning that Delduwath hits four times for a total of 107 damage where DR is only applied once due to Clustered Shots.

TL;DR: The GM made a mistake, Delduwath wasn’t/isn't grappled, and Blue takes 107 damage with DR applying once.

Son of a b***h, that was confusing!!! I hope that I cleared things up.

Ah OK, I misunderstood. Since you only took one shot, you did not get grabbed. Then you can still step away and do your full attack at Blue. I think we’re all good now :) Xavier’s recap looks right to me. Both Hamatulas are now gone!

With the red hamatula destroyed, Delduwath unleashes a barrage of arrows at the blue hamatula. It is looking very hurt but still stands. Delduwath then sends more arrows at it, and it poofs out of existence.

I'm wondering how Xavier pointing into otherwise empty space would allow Gilliby to pinpoint an area for glitterdust. Seems like the general direction would be communicated, but not distance. I'm open to an explanation of how the distance, as well as direction, could plausibly be communicated. "She's there!" could mean anywhere from the tip of his pointed finger to the back of the room.

Obsidian steps into the stone and glides up to the top toward the rest of the group. He then places an open palm on the ground.

Move; standard action to ready to stone shape if an ally gets attacked by an arrow.

I'm wondering how Xavier pointing into otherwise empty space would allow Gilliby to pinpoint an area for glitterdust. Seems like the general direction would be communicated, but not distance. ......High-pitched voice of begging Xavier is smart enough to communicate that? Shrug You honestly got me there--the best I can come up with is that he would say something like "30 feet forward, 20 feet up" or (if you'll allow the retcon) to fly adjacent to her and say "Center it on me!" I'll roll a Will if just in case you allow the latter.

@Xavier since your readied action was to fly at her anyway, I’ll say it is OK for you to fly right to her now and say, “center it on me!”.

Xavier uses his super-senses to seek out the Medusa, then flies right up to her and tells Gilliby to dust the area with glitter. Gilliby does as asked.
DC 21 WILL: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (19) + 23 = 42 The invisible Medusa and Xavier are now all glittery.
Obsidian gets ready to block any arrows that might be shot at allies.

Delduwath lets a bunch of clustered arrows fly at the Medusa but none of them are able to penetrate her amazing armor!

The glittery medusa steps back five feet through the air and casts a spell. An immobile, vertical curtain of whirling blades shaped of pure force springs into existence from floor to ceiling in this chamber. If you pass through the blade barrier make a DC 22 REF save.

No need to save vs the Gaze since she's technically invisible!

The elven noble grits his teeth.

"Gilliby! Blade Barrier! Dispel it! Delduwath, stop trying for her weak spots and just hurt her!" Translation: don't use Deadly Aim

If Gilliby Dispels the Barrier:
Xavier grins as he studies the medusa's movements to exploit for himself. He five-foot flies next to the uncomely Asmodean and strikes at her!

Xavier deactivates the force shield and pulls a wand out from his bandolier—a handy object that he took from a Dark Folk that attempted to get rid of the heightened continual flame on his ioun torch.
