Typhon can now see the monstrous shark as well. Before he, or anyone else peering into the cargo hold can get a closer look, the shark darts deeper into the Direption. A dull thud is audible, as if something very large were knocking on the wood inside of the ship. Only the shark's pointed tail is visible through the hole in the ship's timbers.
Bosch Glasthane
Not seeing any way forward apart from risking the attention of the shark, Bosch ventures forward with his rapier drawn. They needed unimpeded access to the ship and the shark was certainly an impediment. If he could force it out of the ship he would.
Trey Merosa
Trey hangs back with Tessa. agreeing to let the fighter handle the monsters and as always trey will be there to mend their wounds.
reserving her real power for a time it will be needed most.
Bandru Varz
Bandru will move forward with Bosch nodding at him knowing that this is the only way to handle this situation. Bow at the ready waiting for the shark to attack.

A moment after the thudding sound, the shark returns. Silently, it glides towards the hole in the ship. Bandru looses an arrow at the shark's open mouth, but misses. With a muffled thunk, the arrow is embedded in the hull of the Direption.
Due to his readied action, Bandru got to act in the surprise round. We will start combat as normal here.

Round 3
Typhon's dagger and Bandru's arrows slay the shark. It writhes as it dies and its spilled blood turns the water a murky red. The smaller shark looks towards the big shark, as if to begin feasting on its dead comrade. But you hear a strange gurgling, bubbling sound and the shark instead changes direction to bite Bosch. In its feeding frenzy, it misses him.

Trey finds that the tiny metal boxes are engraved with skulls. Each one is about four by four by six inches. In the dim, underwater light, it looks as if most, if not all, of them have been burned or otherwise damaged - likely from the same fire and damage that sunk the ship. A silver latch holds the box closed. Although the latch has been melted and warped by the fire, Trey can tell it resembles a beetle with a skull for its body. Yrsa and Bandru indeed skewer the ugly mermaid and she lets out a final gurgle of bubbles before falling still, dead. On her body is a magical harpoon decorated with fish bones (+1 short spear), and a pair of matching bracelets that look like woven strands of seaweed (bracers of armor +2). She also has a small cloth sack decorated with fish scales (bag of holding type II).
Now that you have a better chance to examine the hold of the Direption, you find that murky water flows through the debris-cluttered hold. Loose timbers, small fish, and dozens of identical boxes float eerily in the quiet darkness. Further to the west in the ship, Trey is examining one of these boxes. A door behind the stairs to the east looks like it would lead further into the ship.

Bosch pulls the harpoon out of his side and sheaths his rapier. The heftier haft of the weapon allowed him to get a decent grip with both hands. The rest of the useful looking stuff he stuffs into one of the bags Typhon brought. Better armed but now clutching his slowly leaking side, Bosch looks to the others and points deeper into the ship.
