[Morning, Catacombs, 4th Day After Goblin Raid]
You’ve entered a cylindrical shaped room, with a tall ceiling and a pool in the center. Water ripples quietly in this circular stone pool, the rim of which is lined with skulls. Nicholae’s divine power reveals a very strong aura upon this pool. The water is exceptionally clear.
A closed door lies in the opposite wall, to the east.
(NOTE: What happened to the Lamashtu holy symbol you found?)
| Nicholae Szabo |
I am pretty sure that Lldeir didn't sell it - whether he still has it on him pending finding someone to dispose of it properly is up to him
| Lleidr |
Selia is more than welcome company!
Lleidr didn't sell the symbol. The last time he had it was in the basement of the Glassworks. He gave it to Hakak when the barbarian was going to get healed up.
Lleidr will step in the room and take a look in the pool.
| Lleidr |
Unless Lleidr sees something in the water, he'll move over to the door.

[Morning, Catacombs, 4th Day After Goblin Raid]
As you’re checking out the room, two creatures begin flying out from the ceiling above, looking like blackened, bat-winged heads of a fiend. Tentacles dangle from chin and scalp, and their fanged mouths hangs agape. You all shudder, as the flying heads let loose with a horrific shriek.
(NOTE: I’ll need 2 Fortitude checks from each of you, 1 for each creature. Then tell me your actions. Each vargouille is 10’ off the ground.)

Fort1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Foer2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Jubrayl will make a note to buy a bow when he has the chance, and ready an action to take a swing at the first one to come in range.

[Morning, Catacombs, Round 1 Vargouilles, 4th Day After Goblin Raid]
With mouths spread wide into something resembling toothy grins, the monsters immediately swoop down in your midst. One bobs down on either side of Hakak, tearing into him with ravenous maws (6 hp dmg, another Fort save, please).
Selia is unable to move.
Jubrayl steps forward, but misses with a swing at the monsters (NOTE: I’m assuming you’d take a 5’ step).
Hakak’s initial hopes for victory fade fast, seeing that his partner is rooted in place, not moving despite the horrors that have descended among you (NOTE: I didn’t see an attack roll for Hakak, so I went ahead and assumed one). Hakak’s battleaxe bites deep (11 hp dmg).
Lleidr, Ned, and Nicholae are all also unable to act.
Hakak Bloody Axe

Anyone have a baseball bat, because I think I have a curve ball flying around my head.
Fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Hakak will take a crack at any flying teeth balls that come near him.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
I have a feeling that that will not quite cut it.

[Morning, Catacombs, Round 3 Vargouilles, 4th Day After Goblin Raid]
The hideous vargouilles continue snapping and gnashing at Hakak, with one managing to get close enough to clamp its jaw onto the halforc ( 4 hp dmg, Fort save please).
But, the monsters are too slow to avoid the weapons of their enemies. Both Hakak and Jubrayl land devastating blows, and the flying heads smash into the ground like a pair of rotten gourds.
Immediately after the creatures crash, the rest of the group’s paralysis vanishes. Aside from a bit of temporary numbness in your hands, which soon passes, you’re all back to normal.
(NOTE: I’m using an earlier image for your reference. As a reminder, there’s a door in the east wall, which you’ve already searched and found nothing significant.)
| Nicholae Szabo |
Nicholae will examine the wound for contamination and bind it up but will wait to heal later when there is greater need.
| Lleidr |
With a loud cry of "Leeroy Jenkins!", Lleidr will kick open the door and jump in the room, brandishing his dagger.
Or, more likely, since Hakak seems to be shrugging off the venom, Lleidr will draw his dagger and open the door.
Selia D'Averam
|
Haha, very nice, Lleidr!
Selia shakes off the effects of the vargouille's hideous screams. "That... was not at all pleasant."
"I can attempt to purify some of this water. I don't know how comfortable I feel leaving this sitting here; who knows what other evils may come from it?"
About how much water is in the pool? Would using purify food and drink be plausible?

[Morning, Catacombs, 4th Day After Goblin Raid]
Before you, the passage continues to ascend. Another set of stairs stops 5’ away from you. Beyond its landing, a door hangs loose upon its hinges, as if some great force warped the frame and forced it open. Past the door, a circular stair winds upward.
The water in the well room is very clear, and is only a few inches deep. Selia, you might be thinking of the sinspawn coming out of the pool in the cathedral room. That was a pool of orange water, not at all like this one. Feel free to cast your spell, if you’d like.
| Lleidr |
Lleidr will move up to the landing and into the doorway to see if there's anything of interest besides the circular stairs going up.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
| Nicholae Szabo |
Lets complete this room, mark it and return later... This goes up and not likely leading to the beach or the goblin tribes of the area... Those notes we found speak of an attack by Goblins. Lets thwart that.
Selia D'Averam
|
Ahh, the skulls lining the pool threw me off. It only takes a few seconds to purify 2cu ft. so I will still see what happens.
Selia reaches down toward the water, her hands glowing.

So, back down the stairs to the statue room and then through the room with the cells to get to the area marked B7? I don't see any other area we haven't examined yet.
