I recently gave up both PF and 4e but still want to roleplay so I'm checking to see if anyone is interested in a Shadowrun 4ed pbp?
I'm looking for 4-6 players.
Once enough players chose to join we can determine what style and setting of the game. The setting of the game will depend on the style of play the group decides on.
Setting possibilities for game style;
Seattle, Manhattan or Hong Kong for your basic corporate/underworld runs.
Albuquerque, Bogotá or Manila for smuggling and spy-game runs.
Moscow, Cape Town or Perth for spirit/critter bounty hunting.
This list is no ways comprehensive and there will of course be crossover run opportunities no matter what style and setting of game play.
Book material for player use;
Shadowrun 4 core rules
Runners Companion
Arsenal
Street Magic
Augmentation
Wired
I will add the Runners Black Book as soon as I get and read a copy.

Unfortunately there isn't a Shadowrun 4 SRD or PRD available but there are these.
Jackpoint a Shadowrun fourm site.
Humboltnation link for Character Generator, dice roller and other stuff.

Thanks! I'm starting to use the ChargenSR4, looks very helpful.
Right now, I think I will go for a smuggler type of character, probably an Ork.

Totally on board for this game! I have most of the books listed at the top. Not sure on what type of character I would go with, open to whatever depending on the nature of the group. As for the 3 options of game type, I'm open to whatever although I guess I'd probably put the spirit/beast hunting one on the bottom of the list. I like the idea of working in the urban metropolises, ala Blade Runner, etc.

I'm a big Shadowrun fan and would definetly like an SR game as I don't have one table-top wise. I have some character ideas, but they're variable enough that I'd rather fill a gap/avoid overlapping things.
But, either way, count me in!

Interested with some caveats. Last PbP SR game I showed up for had a character that had almost every flaw in the game with the additional points fully utilized...I'm not going to knock anyone elses game, but that's not the style of play that interests me. So, are we using the creation rules as they are in the book? As in you can only spend so many build points on attributes, only get so many points for flaws?
I have all the books listed but wired, though I'm not overly interested in playing a hacker anyways. Much of my time spent in higschool was spent playing shadowrun, though the 12 year sense hasn't seen nearly as much, so please forgive any slip ups (I'm likely to call hackers deckers and what not).
As for game type, I would prefer a more traditional espionage/running style game, with us starting off as new runners and eventually developing our reputations and getting the bigger jobs. If that's not the route we go that's fine, I'm down for pretty much anything Shadowrun, just with a preference for traditional story lines.
For characters...wow, so many ideas...
I've played a lot of casters in my time, and plenty of gun-bunny style characters, though I've never been one to call them "street samurai". I have a fondness for riggers, though I don't know if I have the time to relearn all the ins and outs of that subset of rules.
Do you have a preference on character morality? I'm good playing pretty much anything, I've played serial killers and charity workers in Shadowrun.

I am expecting some player drop off so I will include all nine of you in the first run. If all of you are still in after that and it proves too difficult to manage I’ll pare down the group to six.
@all players – character builds will be as per the SR4A core rules. That means 400BP, 200BP maximum can be used for attributes and 35BP maximum in flaws.
BPs gained by flaws cannot be used to go over the 200BP attribute maximum.
Warning – any flaws taken and not role-played will be taken away and the BP cost will be deducted from your skills, spells or attributes.
@ Fraust – Don’t worry about terminology, I still call hackers Deckers also. I think it sounds cooler anyway. Riggers don’t exist anymore, their skill set was folded in the hackers. Most drones are run by autonomous programs now and anyone with driving skill and an implanted commlink can run an car by thought alone.

Ah well, that's why I asked. BP is a deal breaker for me, as I vastly prefer karmagen. Thanks anyway and good luck!

I picked up an audiobook version of Gibsons Neuromancer the other day and it got me craving some Shadowrun action.
I'd very much like to be added to the list of backup players should anyone need to leave.
I've never played Shadowrun 4 and only played shadowrun 2 for one game but I absolutely adore the cyberpunk universe.
I've lurked paizo for months and just recently started a Pathfinder pbp but its going slow so I have plenty of time for a second game.
Not sure what kind of character I would want to play but I've always liked the "Decker" and "Rigger" types and its interesting they've been combined into one. I'm also intrigued by the introduction of the "Technomancer" I may roll one up just to see what they are like.
