Esper Zevral

Noticing a nearby child/person staring at them, Esper gives them a smile and wanders over.
"Hello there," she says kindly. "What's your name?"
If he was fishing she also says,
"Catch anything?"

Perrine knew it best for the group to all not be congregated around a guy picking a lock in broad daylight. She walked around the building as far as she could, hoping there might be another entrance off to the side perhaps.
Err, *SPLASH!(?)*
There's a 100-foot-long pier at the end of it is a door into the warehouse. No front lawn, no backyard, just a lot of seawater.

The young hooligan looks up.
"What's it to ya?" he says wiping his nose with his arm.
He seems to be with the old man, though he himself is not fishing.

Esper shrugs, "Just being polite, child."
To the old man, she replies, "I've come to collect my dancing clothes. Some fool locked them in that warehouse."

Can I take 20 on the Disable Device for a 25?
Tathane makes a small laugh. He sits back on his haunches and wipes his sweaty hands on his pants. "Well, this lock is a bit harder than I thought it would be. Give me a sec and I'll get it."
Einarr Bjornson
|
"i htought you said you were good at this kind of stuff...?" Einarr whispers to Tathane trying to use his body to block others view of what the half elf is doing.

Tathane looks up from his squatted position in front of the door knob. A slightly embarrassed look crosses his face. "I guess I still need some practice. But give me a moment and I'm sure I'll have it."

Doughlas is at the other side of the pier against the building looking down to see if he can see any fish.

"No foolin'? Yer a real hoochey-coochey slave girl? I could get you in faster than yer half-human."

Sure, it takes two whole minutes, and if there were a trap it would have triggered
The door opens on darkness.
Perrine Ravella

Perrine moves ahead. ”Let’s get on with the mission. I feel icky enough as is with it. Sooner we find the crate, sooner we can leave here,” she grumbles to the others.
Esper Zevral
|
"Well, that would be delightful." Esper tells the young man.

"Oh, looks like your services won't be needed after all. He managed. Thank you, young man."
Esper smiles at the teen pleasantly, then wanders back to the warehouse and peers inside.

Tathane makes a show of looking at the dilapidated condition of the building and surroundings. "Based on the looks of things, I think our approach just might be the 'proper channels'. Or at least the customary channels."
Tathane tries to peer into the darkness of the building.

Stepping away from the pier's edge and asks, "Should I light my lantern? Tathane, would you be able to try sneaking in a little to make sure there is nothing in there that we don't want to alert to the lamp?"
Esper Zevral
|
Esper focuses hard on her palms for a while, causing her golden eyes to flare with light. Suddenly a quartet of golden glowing orbs appears around her palms. She looks into the warehouse and the light fly inside, bobbing and spinning around as the drift through the warehouse.
Casting dancing lights.
Esper steps inside and looks to see what her light revealed.
Placed my lights on the map in their initial position, but Esper will move them around a lot from the entrance to see what they reveal within her line of sight before heading deeper into the warehouse.
Einarr Bjornson

"Hey.... nice trick..." Einarr says to Esper when the lights dance.
Esper Zevral

"I've got plenty, dear..." Esper tells Einarr with a smile.

"I certainly can try spying around. Those lights will help." Tathane sneaks in through the door and looks for cover to hide in.

The dancing lights illuminate the space revealing hundreds of boxes, casks, and packing crates. They cast long dark shadows against the walls that move as Liv commands over the space like ghosts over a graveyard.
Cheap coffins line the northern wall stacked in some places to near the 25-foot ceiling. Tathane passes a pile of beer kegs, and small crates of food stuffs some of which weep their reeking spoiled contents from their creases. Further south larger crates are stacked higher shielding the area from view.
There's more indirect light up ahead from around a high wall of stacked containers.

"Hope he lets us know it's at least safe to enter some instead of us all hanging out in the open for the gawkers."
Doughlas looks back down the pier in the hopes to see no gawkers, aside from the kid and old man fishing.

Once convinced that the area is safe, Tathane walks back to the doorway. He pops his head out. "Hey you all, wanna come in. There's plenty of space here. Looks like there might be something else interesting around the corner." He nods his head in a random direction as if indicating where he's referring to. "But you guys can at least get in here out of everyone's sight."
Without waiting for a reply from the others Tathane disappears back into the dark room. He slowly makes his way around the stacked crates, past the coffins, and tries to get a look at the remainder of the building.

Tathane and Esper press forward into the gloom. Every one of Esper's foot falls makes a sound like a old squeaky hinge on the worn wood floor.
Up ahead, in a pool of pure angelic white light emanating from below sits a big (major kitchen or laundry room appliance-sized) crate precariously balanced upon some broken, teetering floor planks above the harbor. It gently rises and falls with the breeze, creaking softly like a ship's deck.
Esper Zevral
|
"The floor's breaking up ahead. Careful." Esper tells the others.
She eyes the crates nearby, looking for the one with the bird symbol they're here for. With her luck it'd be that big one right in the middle of the broken floor... She approaches closer to get a better view.
Is this lovingly under-lit crate marked with the symbol we're after, by any chance? lol

Why yes. Yes, it is.

Einarr turns to hear the conversation of the others and when he looks for the half elf he fails to see the stealthy man...

'Think I'll slowly wait behind Tathane and follow him while he checks for traps,' Doughlas thinks to himself.

"Don't worry about that creaking sound, guys. The wood all looks pretty solid to me." Tathane points to the box ahead. "And that looks like what we need."
He moves closer to the box.

With lights available, Ramachandra looks around the room.
Did you (and Perrine too) wanna be inside the warehouse anywhere in particular? Are either of you having a problem accessing/using the map?
