I would suggest that you put 2 post a day as a requirement, then. If half of the group post very frequently and one or two players only do it 1/day, it won't be so cool for all of them.

@Walter: My Requirement is 2posts/day, weekends post when you can. :)

I shall dot this one. New to here. Looking for a fun game to play.

Hmm... looks like I have competition, two other interested in winter witch >.<

Sovereign Court

I'm interested but is there still space for possibly a spacy elf barbarian?

Y'know. I initially wanted to play an arctic druid, but I'm actually thinking an alchemist would be a lot of fun for this campaign. I may have to rethink...

@ nightdeath: Recruitment doesnt close until Tuesday. :)

Karyne Morozov Jadwiga Yalizaveta checking in. Crunch isn't completely typed up, nor am I fully happy with the background, but it is up and I will continue to update it as I go. Crunch is being typed up momentarily, though it's done on paper (save for money: How much do we get?).

@Karyne: Average starting gold.

D'oh, a thousand apologies. Think I fixed it. Added one too many to Wisdom.

Azrael here with 'Lex' Bishop, the magus. Crunch is done, just need to finish writing up the background.

Here is Terrance Cavendish Human Cavalier. Thanks for looking.

Featuring Shiphel Ulthar, Catfolk Sorcerer (Boreal). Later I´ll finished the sheet.

@Lex, Shiphel, & Terrance: Good to go!! I am really loving the submissions so far!

Basic sheet for Shiphel. This weekend I will prepare your background. Thanks in advance for waiting.

Racial
--------------------
Cat's Luck (Ex) Once per day when a catfolk makes a Reflex saving throw, he can roll the saving throw twice and take the better result. He must decide to use this ability before the saving throw is attempted.
Natural Hunter Catfolk receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception, Stealth, and Survival checks.
Climber Catfolk hunters excel at hunting prey from trees and other high vantage points. catfolk with this racial trait possess a climb speed of 20 feet (along with the +8 racial bonus on Climb checks a climb speed affords). This racial trait replaces sprinter.
Scent Some catfolk favor a keen sense of smell over sensitive sight. catfolk with this racial trait gain the scentability. This racial trait replaces the low-light vision racial trait.
The creature can detect opponents within 30 feet by sense of smell. If the opponent is upwind, the range increases to 60 feet; if downwind, it drops to 15 feet. Strong scents, such as smoke or rotting garbage, can be detected at twice the ranges noted above. Overpowering scents, such as skunk musk or troglodyte stench, can be detected at triple normal range.
When a creature detects a scent, the exact location of the source is not revealed—only its presence somewhere within range. The creature can take a move action to note the direction of the scent. When the creature is within 5 feet of the source, it pinpoints the source’s location.
A creature with the scent ability can follow tracks by smell, making a Wisdom (or Survival) check to find or follow a track. The typical DC for a fresh trail is 10 (no matter what kind of surface holds the scent). This DC increases or decreases depending on how strong the quarry’s odor is, the number of creatures, and the age of the trail. For each hour that the trail is cold, the DC increases by 2. The ability otherwise follows the rules for the Survival skill. Creatures tracking by scent ignore the effects of surface conditions and poor visibility.
--------------------
Traits
--------------------
Child of Nature You gain a +2 trait bonus on Survival checks to find food and water, and a +1 trait bonus on Knowledge (nature) checks. One of these skills (nature) is always a class skill for you.
Rice Runner You gain a +1 trait bonus on Acrobatics checks, and Acrobatics becomes a class skill for you.
Northern Ancestry Your ancestors passed on the blood of some frost-rimed creature. You feel most alive during the chill of winter, and as a child, you spent hours playing in the snow. You rarely feel the cold, and you’ve always had a restless longing to travel north. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Fortitude saves, as well as cold resistance 2; this resistance does not stack with cold resistance gained from any other source.
--------------------
Class
--------------------
Bloodline (Boreal) (Ex)
Class Skill: Survival.
Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you cast a spell with the cold descriptor, increase the spell’s save DC by 1.
Cold Steel (Sp): At 1st level, you can touch a weapon or up to 50 pieces of ammunition as a standard action, giving it the frost property for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your sorcerer level (minimum 1). At 9th level, you can confer the icy burst property instead, but the duration of the power is halved. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier.
Cantrips
Sorcerers learn a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells, as noted on Table: Sorcerer Spells Known under “Spells Known.” These spells are cast like any other spell, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.
Eschew Materials
A sorcerer gains Eschew Materials as a bonus feat at 1st level.

@Shiphel: No problem. Cant wait to read it. everything so far looks good.

Pokemon X & Y are coming out tomorrow, I will be playing them nonstop this weekend. I will get on and check twice three times a day. So don't be afraid if I don't answer right away like I normally do.

Is it okay to go ahead and post a character if all that's lacking right now is back story (that I know of)?

Yep! Greninja/Charizard ftw!

@Kana: Of course!
@Mezegis: Woot woot!!

Hello everyone,

This is actually a question for all of those who have applied so far (no offense Whispers through the snow). Would anyone be interested in taking teamwork feats in conjunction with my bard? I was thinking of outflank and precise strike (possibly shield wall and maybe allied spell caster)? The idea of teamwork really fits the character I am building.

I know it's a bit early, but I am curious to know. It could be a nice way of linking character backgrounds too (allied spellcaster and shieldwall are the only ones my character can take at level 1)!

@ Whispers Through The Snow, Enjoy the games!

As a cavalier Terrance has a bonus teamwork feat. He has already selected precise strike. :)

I've been selected in another game, so to be fair I am going to withdraw my application. Good luck everyone!!

I present the young wandering kitsune, Kyliki Yvanra, a Rogue (Kitsune Trickster).

Her backstory will be added soon.

(and I'm picking up Y myself tomorrow.)

I will be posting a Rogue soon as I finalize somethings, and Teamwork feats would work well with him, especially outflank and Precise strike.

WTTS: Have you planned a team yet? I'm thinking Greninga, Charizard, Lucario, Gardevoir, and Garchomp for just sweeping the game. I don't really get into the competitive scene so I usually don't build the Walls/Spikers/Aromatherapists.

@Thanos Maximo: I love the concept, but again, Im know next to nothing about words of power... Since two people have brought it up, Ill look into it.

Eh, don't worry about it, I'm totally fine with the standard magic system ;).

Blaster sorcerers, on the other hand, go at it. :-D

Blaster it is... A blaster wizard that is O.o! Did I pique your curiosity, even just a little bit? If so please check Selandra out. Hope you like her!

@Selandra: I think you miscounted your ability point totals. Unless you thought that elves get -2 Strength instead of -2 Con.

Remember kids, always apply racial modifiers after points have been allotted!

Also, Ear-Piercing Scream, while an awesome spell, isn't applicable to Versatile Evocation since its sonic energy. Just thought you might want to know that since it was prepped three times on your list.

Alias of Mezegis, Rogue extraordinaire looking for work.

I can easily post 2+ times per day, as I average about 15+ total across my games. I do currently run a variant of RoW, but have no problem separating IG/OOG knowledge. Heck, I may intentionally walk into traps and tricks just because it'll make a good story as the party will have to heroically rescue me!

I will tell you that I play the game to have fun, which does tend to involve jokes and OOC comments. If you are looking for a super serious gamer who writes you pages of text about looking at the snow, I'm not your man. If you want a solid participant with good knowledge on the rules and someone who will keep the game going and having fun, then look no further :)

@Selandra: You indeed have an interesting character!
@Kyliki: Very nice. Katsune trickster is a very fun class to play.
@Llyr: Everything on the sheet looks good, except you are missing a trait. Don't sell yourself short rogue! ;-)

Hyuuu! You all make it so hard for a GM to decide!! Hmmmph its going to be sooo tough!! *squirms around, anime style*

So this is what I have so far, Tell me if Ive missed anyone!!

Martin Stribog Samsaran Winter Witch (Arcane)

Dron Farwalker Human Ranger(guide) (martial)

Carl Ironeater Dwarf Barbarian (invunerable rager) (martial)

Nev Morvinus Human Oracle (dual cursed) Winter Mystery (divine/martial)

Himiko Ojimi Kitsune Sorcerer Fey bloodline (arcane/face)

Karyne Morozov Aasimar Sorcerer (fire elemental) (arcane)

Lex Bishop Human Magus Hexcrafter, staff (arcane/martial)

Terrence Cavendish Human Cavalear Order of the shield (martial)

Shiphel Ulthur Catfolf sorcerer Boreal (arcane)

Kyliki Yvanra Kitsune Trikster rogue (Face)

Silandra Landerel Elf Admixture Wizard (arcane)

Llyr The Lush Half elf scout rogue (martial)

Updated to reflect the 3rd trait.

Do you not consider Rogues more of a skill class? One of the reasons I went with this character of the portfolio I've built (its a hobby) is because I saw you had very few sneaky/skill characters.

Whispers, it is an odd weekend, Pokemon tomorrow and Skylanders on Sunday. Crazy...

Ugg, Skylanders... Moneysink of DOOOOM. Bought everything for the first one, then realized I paid over $300 for a single game I beat in a few days. Saving it now for when my daughter is old enough to play, at least then I can deceive myself and say I got my monies worth.

@Llyr: I very much consider them a skill class. I just wrote down the broad terminology for all of them.

I seriously cannot wait for tomorrow! Totally going to gamestop as soon as I wake up. :)
Im also getting super excited to GM this campaign. It is going to be SO HARD to wait until Tuesday, But it is only fair. :) Ill just use pokemon as a distraction. :3

also, you guys role playing will tie me over. I am definitely enjoyinig it. :)

Llyr, my daughter is the primary reason I have them. SHE LOVES them. I didn't start until the second game was out and we have a lot more than we had initially intended to get, but I have refused to pay a dime over retail for anything. I have bought almost all of them on a buy 2 get 1 free or equivalent deal. I did pre-order the dark pack for Swap Force, but it has a few of her favorites in it and I think it will maintain value for when I sale it. Also: Their bases are the right size for Large monsters. I intend to use/paint them when she is done with them (the ones that don't have any real value) and make Pathfinder minis out of them. The dragons...the elementals...the giants...they may be a little cutesy, but they will work.

Uhmm... Well, let's check again: 25 pt. buy

7 Str: -4, 29 pts to spend
14 Dex: +5, 24 pts to spend
14 Con: +5, 19 pts to spend
18 Int: +17, 2 pts. to spend
10 Wis: +0, 2 pts to spend
12 Char: +2, 0 pts remaining

After Racials, 7 16 12 20 10 12... Seems ok? I'm missing something?

Yes, absolutely, and I assure you I'm well aware of that. Not everything needs to be Versitile Evocation-ed, expecially a nice blast spell with a very rarely resisted energy type and a controll effect built on top of it, which makes it exactly what I was looking for at lvl 1 with my current build :).

Right. Guess that was my bad - I was working on the assumption that subtracting 3 from 10 got you 3 points, not 4. Since I've never met anyone crazy enough to minmax stats below an 8 before racial modifiers. I hope she travels light!

Edit: In case anyone hadn't realized yet, there's a pre-game RP tavern opened up in the Discussion thread - taking place in the Silver Stoat of Heldren in southern Taldor - curiously enough, it is way farther south and east from Irrisen and Varisia than I realized, so I may need to retcon some of my own character's dialogue to reflect that error in player judgment.

Lex Bishop wrote:

That's quite uncalled for...

We are in Taldor? I just assumed it was in Irrisen. Whoops Terrance is practically home. On the plus side it makes total sense that I would be there. I guess I should have read more than the traits in the player's guide.

Thanks Lex, hadn't noticed it was in the discussion, that explains why it seemed as though no one was answering to the calls for RP....

TheCelticCircle's character

Enters Grimkell the LoreKeeper (Savage Skald). The background isn't totally written down yet (it is definitely complete, but in my mind) and should be put up soon. Also, I haven't chosen the feat, waiting to see if I can use teamwork feats with the group that will be chosen if that's okay.

BTW, I am aiming at melee character with buff spells and healing... and music!

@Grimkell: Got you! Love your appearance. hahaha!

Is it too late to join? I was thinking of playing a halfling druid or wizard if allowed? i can stat one up and get him to you pronto.

Whispers Through The Snow wrote:

Thanks, considering the character, it truly was a fitting image!

Also, updated the background, everything should be complete. Tell me if anything seems out of place. Also, if you want a longer background, I will be happy to oblige.

Lynxwitch wrote:

Last news, the submissions are due tuesday.

@Lynxwitch: Not too late. Just like Crimkell said, Tuesday is the deadline. :)

Whispers, I adjusted a trait and thus a skill. It should be noted, Karyne is certainly a face type as well.

I'm sorry, that wasn't meant to be mean or insulting at all. I was just emphasizing the fact this is the first time I've seen someone do that with a character. If you felt slighted, that was not my intention whatsoever.

Tossing my hat in here. This is a character I made up for another Reign of Winter campaign, and I was hoping to place him here. Is that okay?
