Llyr Thadewynn has always been a disappointment. His father comes from a long line of Ulfen guard, the elite of Taldor. His mother is an attendant to the Elven ambassador to Taldor. They shared a few nights of passion, and the resulting accident has been a black spot on their records ever since. His mother named him exclusively in his father’s ulfen naming style to remove as much connect to her spawn as she could, especially since his northern heritage shown through so strongly. His youth was spent being sent back and forth between the two parents, each insisting they couldn’t handle caring for a child. Eventually his father agreed to care for the lad, but in that too, he was a disappointment.
Llyr was raised to be another ulfen guard, practicing weapons and armor, strict martial discipline, everything a growing boy craves, restrictions and confinement. As such, when he wasn’t under the watchful eye of his father, he was escaping for frivolity and fun. This of course upset his father and earned him quite a few beatings. After so many arguments, disagreements, and fights, Llyr was thrown out of his “home” and forced to fend for himself.
He took up odd jobs here and there, enough to keep food in his belly, sometimes being forced to dip into the shadowy arts to keep from starving, powerful motivator hunger is. Lately he has taken up guarding a merchant caravan, next stop, Heldren.
