Romon
Romon groans inwardly. He whispers, "Someone make sure this door doesn't close behind us." Then he proceeds to the next door.

'This one's clean. Might be water on the other side. '
Romon readies his sword, looks to the rest of the party and then opens the door.
Usual routine : Step back and use it as a shield if it pulls open. Step through and to the side if it pushes open.
Inikai
As Inikai hears Romon say that there might be water on the other side he imagines that the door opens to the lake outside and that the tunnel is a trap. However, the realization comes too late for him to stop the young thief from openning the door.
Inikai
Wellard, is there water in the cave? I pictured a small pool of water with only a narrow path of sand around it. Is this right?
Inikai looks closely at the debris as they file past it along the pathway.
Perception

DM Wellard
Theres some dampness on the walls here but no pooling of water on the floor its a dry sandy cave with a few drips.Inspection of the rubbish reveals it to be exactly that..rubbish
The tunnel to the left leads into a more open cave with the waters of the Varisian Gulf lapping at its eastern edge. The floor of this cave is strangely polished and smooth and a tangle of vines covers most of the cave mouth.Outside you can hear the crash off surf
As Ali looks on the scene something enters on the other side off the cave.It looks something like a leathery, eyeless squid with a squat body the size of a rain barrel. Its lower body splits into a tangle of tentacles the creature uses to slowly move on, while two longer tentacles, one thick and muscular and the other lithe and tipped with a bone stinger, emerge from either side.

Regarding the stinger with suspicion, Marak again sends his Morningstar surging from his hand, while stepping to the left and out of his companions line of fire.
As he does, he cries out, "I have no magic prepared to treat a venomed wound, try not to get stung!"
Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Inikai
Inikai nearly loses his courage at the sight of the sea-beast. He takes a step as if to flee before he steadies himself and continues to face the thing. He mutters an unintelligble sylable under his breath and pulls down a flash of lightning from the air over the monstrosity.
Muchorak "Windstriker"
With blades in hands, Muchorak takes up a defensive stance, "Do we wish to battle this beast or move on?"
Is it still in the water? Meaning how far would we have to wade in to fight the beastie, how deep would it be to us. If we do have to fight the creature i'm fine with you doing my first rolls to speed things along Wellard.
Alisebett
Aliwolf growls fiercely but moves into more of a defensive posture than aggrisive, meanwhile her Drudic mind searches for any knowledge of such a creature. Knowledge nature:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

The Beastie moves across the cave it's tentacles waving wildly and slashing out to attack Muchorak..however the ready Ranger strikes first inflicting a severe slash on it's squid like body.

Romon to act
Romon
Romon sighs. I should have known they wouldn't just leave.
He moves left and steps in to attack while the creature is occupied with Muchorak.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 141d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Maybe +2 for flank and 1d6 ⇒ 1 sneak attack ??? ~makes hopeful puppy eyes at the DM
Alisebett
i still don't understand why summoned creatures don't appear until the Next round? The spell description says they appear and attack immediately on the casters turn. So it takes a full round action to cast, yes, but to me that seems to simply indicate that the caster can do nothing else but cast that round, like a full attack. But like a full attack, you still get the benefits of your actions That round, not the next...no??
Alisebett
Thank you Wellard.I do know that's the way it Is, what I'm saying is that to me it doesn't make any sense, especially when the spell description says "It appears where you designate and acts imediately, on your turn" anyway, I know this is not the proper forum for this discussion, was just wondering out loud.

The words 'canis celestianis' are still echoing in the air as a sleek hound, appearing as if carved of faceted grey obsidian comes forth, as if stepping out of Marak's shadow, and turning it's oddly angular features towards him. "Manus Ducis," he says, blessing his new creation as it charges forwards towards the strange beast.
Guidance, giving it +1 to it's first attack roll
Charge and bite attack with Smite Evil, it has 11 AC for the next round, becase of the charge, +1 to hit if the creature is also evil (not counted in) 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
damage, +2 if the creature is evil (not counted in) 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
free Trip attempt (probably not useful here...) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Inikai
Inikai holds his morning star defensively and watches the tentacles of the hideous thing. He tries to keep his eyes on the (presumably poisonous) stinger but loses track of it as the appendages writhe violently. With a grunt he calls down a second bolt of lightning from the air above the grotesque thing.

I am not clear on what happens if I 'abort' the spell. Is it lost? If so, he'll go ahead and finish it, in case something else jumps us in the next 5 rounds. If it isn't lost, if he can 'cancel' it without losing the slot, Marak will go ahead and clap his hand over his mouth, perhaps somewhat comically, cancelling the spell before the magic is wasted.
Once Muchorak has finished off the beastie, Marak will step forward and touch his hand to the two-faced holy symbol around his neck. A visible pulse of hot air comes forth from him, as if entering a blacksmith's forge, and flickering arcane flames trace along wounds, burning them away painlessly.
Channel Energy healing all living targets in 30 ft. 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
Ooh, nice roll! Marak resists the urge to shout, 'Yahtzee!'
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Doesn't bother me at all dude. If i'm ever taking to long feel free to do just that and certainly if we are involved in a combat. Don't want the combat to get slowed because I get a no notice internet loss. Have I mentioned how much I love Oklahoma?
Inikai
Is anyone still low on HP? I just went over Inikai's gear and noticed he has a potion of CLW.
Inikai looks at the expiring heap and considers cutting off its stinger as a souveneir. He reconsiders once he realizes that it could be dangerous to handle a possibly poisonous appendage that way.
"Should we examine the exit to the bay?"
DM Wellard
The sea exit has nothing of interest not even driftwood pushing on you discover a final cavern with the rotting remains of a goblin..he carries a fine shortbow and when you do your standard sweep for Magic his Hide armour is found to be enchanted.. However Ali identifies the hide as Dog.
You have now searched the entirity of this level..you may stop to rest and recover ..or press on down the stairs that lead from the room where you found Lyrie
Romon
Romon gives the goblin body a quick once-over. Hmmm. Intrigued by the bow he picks it up for a closer examination. He tests the pull and tries unstringing and restringing it.
Just how nice is the bow? What about arrows? Is the make distinguishable?
ditto what Azoun said.
Alisebett
Switching briefly to Gnome form Ali, her hands on her small hips and her exp´rission grim says "Ali no stop until we kill'um All yucky goblins here dead." Once she is sure everyone has heard her she shifts back to wolf form and waits near the exit, looking back over her shoulder impatiently at the others.
