Chuffy sneaks ahead (wondering why Mogmurch is making so much noise behind him), stopping briefly to investigate the shed. He does his best to stay hidden the entire time.

As he slinks through the grass and mud, seriously wishing he'd brought some flaming oil, he hums new goblin songs to himself.

"Goblins sneak and goblins slice
Chuffy's job not very nice
While Poog takes rest with his best bud,
Chuffy gets to crawl through mud."

He's a bit grumpy about not being able to set anything on fire.

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

Chuffy mumbles to himself as he draws closer to the farm.

"I do work and Poog rests easy,
I''ll slice his trousers, make them breezey,
Put some spiders in his bed,
Or maybe a dead mouse instead."

VC - Sydney, Australia

Good morning :)

MAP IS HERE

Could you please just reposition yourselves in a notional marching order and general location on the map?

Liberty's Edge

Chuffy and I had been sneaking into the farm (Stealth rolls on previous page).

VC - Sydney, Australia

Moving across the yard towards the house, you pause a flimsy structure that seems to have started out as a workshed, but its sagging walls have been almost entirely overtaken by rampant plantlife.

You can see a wrecked and overturned boat off to the West,

Safe so far

Liberty's Edge

"Why old mean people who no work always have boats they no use in yard???" Mogmurch whispers in bewilderment.

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

Chuffy sneaks around the other side of the outbuilding, and peeks through the door.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

VC - Sydney, Australia

The little busted up shed is overgrown with ugly vines and tubers. Chuffy notices three of the stinky gourds - ones that smell just like Mogmurchs bombs...!

Reta — HP 8/8 | AC 14 (t 13, ff 12) | F +3, R +2, W +0 | Init +2 Perc +8

Reta moves up staring at Chuffy nd Mogmurch from a distance as they do fancy barrel-rolls nd flips.

Ooh, very stealthy. What they up to. Trying to kill mena ogre without Reta? She stops picking her teeth with an arrow and frowns at this thought.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Shuffled Poog up a bit.

So far all is still quiet out here

The house entrance is to the north up the ricket ramp - are you all hooking west past the boat, or east to flank around the house?

Liberty's Edge

I'm inclined to say we head boatward.

VC - Sydney, Australia

An upturned boat, an old river barge by the look of it, sits in the mud here. The boat’s stern has been built into the fence, and a large hole has been smashed in the southern side to provide entrance to the dark hollow created by the hull.

It seems as though it has a bunch of piggy's in there - one is the fattest piggy you ever saw, just laying on its guts, another is a large but dejected and sad looking piggy.

DC15 Wisdom check[/ooc:

The dejected piggy is the fearsome Squealy Nord from your village! Friend not food!

Reta — HP 8/8 | AC 14 (t 13, ff 12) | F +3, R +2, W +0 | Init +2 Perc +8

Wisdom: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

"Oh, really big pig! Bet it feed for days, maybe two whole days!" Reta says as she approaches the boat. "Scrawny one too. That be your meat Chuffy!"

Liberty's Edge

Wisdom check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

Mogmurch runs up to the sad pig and gives it a big hug.

"Nooooord!"

VC - Sydney, Australia

Squealy is very excited, he starts snorting and sqeauling REALLY LOUD. You can see he's chained in the pen, and the pen is hastily locked to stop him getting out... meanwhile he appears to be warning you about the big fatty pig...!

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

Chuffy grabs the gourds, and hurries back around the south side of the shed, boatward, toward the others.

Wis: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Chuffy sees the pig in the dark as he sneaks past.
"It's 'Squealy Nord'!" Chuffy communicates in a stage whisper.

"We'll be back for you, piggy, after we kill and slice the bad ogre person."

Chuffy glares at the other goblins. "Shhhh! Stop talking so much. We supposed to be sneaky."

More sneakiness: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40
He tries to climb the southwest support to get peek over the first roof. He pulls out his grappling hook, and ...
What! They gave him a hook, but no rope?!

"Psst. Any of you lousy lot have rope?" Chuffy looks over at the overturned boat, too. Perhaps there is some old mooring rope there.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Squealy making a scene... he really wants out of the pen.

Maybe Poog could speak with him...?

Reta — HP 8/8 | AC 14 (t 13, ff 12) | F +3, R +2, W +0 | Init +2 Perc +8

Reta moves over towards Chuffy. "Wait, that the Squealy Nord? He make ti out!?!"

She fishes around in her sack and pull out her rope. [b]"Here rope if you need. But mine. I get back after. And watch you don't knock off any of the moles.

Reta will lend20 feet of rope to Chuffy

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

Chuffy looks at the agitated pig, then at the very large sow blocking the entrance, then bask to Squealy Nord. With a sigh, he heads around the back of the boat, where he uses his dogslicer to break apart the rotted wood, hoping to make an opening large enough to free the pig.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Squealy goes silent, but whispers back...

'Be sneaky, the other piggy in here is called Princess Crackling, and she got so fat eating fire burp plants! Don't come in, just let me out - the Ogers going to make me into bakun!" he hiss whispers back.

Squealy indicates the house, "Stupid Ogre lives in there with nasty daughter. He has a big birdy thing under the house. Theres a bunch of hens in a hen house, but also so gigantic crazy-mad dog. It's usually lazy and sits there like a lump"

Chuffy can work out it wold be simple enough to open a small space and unhook the chain on Squealy's neck. Mog manages to see that Princess Crackling has two more stinky fruits tied up within easy biting range...

Chuffy also notes that Princess Crackling raises a lazy eye in his direction - he knows she now knows hes there.

You can rescue Squealy safely enough and without incident, but Princess (who is a huge piggy) is probably going to react if you poke in her pen

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

Chuffy finishes prying the boards from the rear of the overturned boat/shelter, and ushers Nord out through the opening. He pats the pig's head, wipes his hands absentmindedly on his trousers, and looks at the others.

"Shall we burn house down?" Chuffy can climb up to second floor window, and maybe we all throw fire?" He gestures to the necklace of fireballs Poog let Reta carry, and the Stick of Holy Flame of Zarongel Poog has (wand of fireball).

"Oh, I have some glue, too," he whispers.

Poog continues in Pig, "No one makes bakun unless I say they make bakun. And they give me some. You wants to be mighty chief-steed? Is better job than bakun."

Switching back to Goblin, he confers with the others. "Fire is good. Yes. Make them come outsides."

Is there a window/gap in ramshackle construction large enough to launch a fireball through?

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

"Why makes them come outside? Chuffy has glue. Won't keeping them inside be better-er?" He shows Poog the bottle of sovereign glue won from the Birdcrunchers.

VC - Sydney, Australia

You reckon theres a side window you could get a fireball into

Liberty's Edge

Mogmurch looks into his belt pouch with a confused look on his face, then snatches the glue back.

"Hey! You steal from other people, not Mogmurch! Chief Poog give that to me!"

"I don't think we can glue fire to them, Chuffy. Can we?"

Liberty's Edge

Mogmurch takes out a large potted slug, which he'd been saving as a special snack, then looks at it somewhat sadly. "Maybe we glue boom-boom beads from Reta's magic necklace to tasty snack, leave on Munchmeat's porch, knock and then wait for him to eat?" His maniacal smile returns somewhat at the thought.

@GM: Can you describe the farmhouse, again, please? Special attention to entrances and exits. I'm assuming there are doors, somewhere. Are there other visible ways in and out?

VC - Sydney, Australia

A house in the center of the fenced-in area leans against two hefty buttresses holding up three large beams. It’s balanced on numerous thick log stilts that create a cage-like hollow in the mud below the building.

There is also a cupola on top of the building which appears to have a badly sagging roof.

There is a main (front) door, which is located up a small ramp on the northern side. The door is presently shut. There are no other doors.

There is also a small window on the norther side (my mistake had my map flipped) adjacent the door, has a bit of dead hide stopping much light coming in.

On the floor above, there is a large window overhanging the roof of the level below (West side) as well as a northern and southern window.

There are no other real visible openings.

So, all of these windows are large enough to crawl through? Or more specifically, for someone trapped inside to crawl out of?

Reta — HP 8/8 | AC 14 (t 13, ff 12) | F +3, R +2, W +0 | Init +2 Perc +8

Reta looks at her lovely necklace longingly. "Eh, suppose could give one bead. But better make big boom! And you owe Reta a shiny jewel in it place."

VC - Sydney, Australia

The windows could be crawled through, but remember they are not at ground level

Liberty's Edge

Well, there's the "glue a fireball bead to an enticing treat then leave it on Pa Munchmeat's doorstep to find after we bang his door and run away" trick...and I'm not clear on what Chuffy's plotting.

VC - Sydney, Australia

A new and interesting spin on the burning brown paper bag crowd pleaser?

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

Chuffy, having swiped the glue (again) from Mogmurch without the latter's realizing it, makes a quiet "Wait" sign with his hands, then scurries off. He carefully spreads glue around the north door, attempting to seal it shut.

Then, using his grapple and Reta's "rope", he sneaks up and spreads the glue under the largish window on the upper story, where someone might step in it if they were to try and escape.

Poog 4/5 | AC 14 t13 ff12 | F+0 R+2 W+3 | CMD 9 | Init +6 | Per +1

I dropped that spell template in. Thought it might be useful. Hope I positioned it well. I had to resize it for this map, and I think the proportions are a little off, though.

I copied it from another campaign I'm running. They usually take only a few minutes to make so I typically create a new one each adventure, but copy/paste was easier this time.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Good stuff, but in this case you lobbed the BOOM inside a window so its more jets of flame blowing out the upper story window :p

Poog throws the BOOM over his shoulder, the world slows down to slow-mo as the spherical doom flies through the upper window and then there is a terrific burst of flame and fire. Poog simply watches your faces, not the conflagration because...

Cool guys don't look at explosions

Ok need to sort of abstract this a little- bear with me

The house is heavily singed and a patchwork of fires is smouldering away and the house is catching. A loud bear hiss howl what-is-that-thing erupts from under the house - something down there is big and angry.

You hear shouts coming around from the front of the house, an Oger woman has rounded the corner and is coming for you, and a giant rat-weasel is with her and an angry doge!

So the "Fiona" left through the door Chuffy glued shut with the sovereign glue? Just checking.

Chuffy thinks this might be a really good time to not be here and let someone else get blamed. He pulls out his potion of invisibility and downs it quickly.
