Wow some really good answers and all ones I'm familiar with but no.
I'm still not above taking a free HP on the technicality of you having requested a guess, not a correct one.
Also are we ready to advance to the next day and get out of jail?
Yup. I'm a bit confused as to if this guy has two masters or not and how that works but I figured it would come out in the wash. Also this other guy needs an arm? Def curious.

Lauren Tacita |

Just thought I'd mention- Clerics get Infernal as a bonus language option, so she could (and probably should) know it. Want to switch one of the others out, assuming the GM is cool with it? Lauren knows Infernal herself.

Everyone, we need to have a sit down.
You need to consolidate your messages and post in the correct thread.
I just came in to a 20-post update. There is an instance of one poster posting three times in a row. There is an instance of one poster posting twice in a row a minute apart.
There are also at least 5 OOC comments that belong here in the OOC thread. When you click on your campaigns, people will see you posted in the OOC. You can post it here.
Lastly: My character doesn't know the other PCs from a hole in the wall. He would not have offered the information of his spoken languages, he would not have offered the translation. Personal and/or useful information is a commodity and he doesn't give it out freely. Short of having been under magical compulsion I'm not sure why his actions are being dictated "in the interest of speeding things along" when I posted this morning. If I had been absent, that might be one thing. Other people had yet to post, as well. Giving people a chance to act within 20+ posts and 24 hours is more important than moving things along.

The triple post was me due to responding to separate post. Edits dont show as new posts. So in order for people to see that there is activity I will continue to do so. And expect others to do so. It is easier for most people to read a double post or triple than to miss something in an edit. Also according to the targeting parameters Nemenia would have been chosen no matter what. I figured it was better to get the split the party moment out of the way as quickly as possible. Which ment pushing through so now you can all act together.
Now on to your language thing. Your character does understand that its help each other or die right? It says it in the first three pages of the AP you work together to get out or you all die. Thats it. Working-class under the assumption that he would be willing to read a few words out loud under such duress I had him read it. As he was the first character I checked who could. Which I will admit floored me for a second. Totally not the one I expected to have that language. Note the wizard also has it and if it that much of a problem I'm sure Lauren will say she volunteered to read it instead. Point being it doesn't matter what read it just as long as the party got the message.

And on another note this being an intentional double post. I personally dont care if the occasional bit of oc commentary gets posted in gameplay. I am not a gm who freaks out about such things. However you appear to be someone who does. So in order to address that we will have a vote. If the majority votes no ooc comments and posts in gameplay at all then we will hold to that. I abstain except in the event of a tie.

Works for me. I appreciate you taking my view into consideration. I do understand it's cooperate or die and he's amenable to helping others but that doesn't mean he doesn't have self-interests at heart. Were he to be provided the "toothpick" and read that particular passage he would have just shut his mouth, used it as a lockpick when he needed to, and then used it himself in said hour of need. He would have helped the others, undoubtedly, but he wouldn't be about to relinquish the only weapon in the jail at the moment.
It's like in a relationship: Being honest doesn't necessarily mean sharing every detail. Similarly: Helping everyone escape doesn't necessarily mean giving up the only weapon (and potential lockpick) or even letting anyone know what it is prior to the moment it's brought to bare against a foe. Maybe it just means being the most effective killer for until the first few guards have their weapons taken from them!

Nemenia Faireyes |

I will switch out Sylvan for Infernal. It makes sense and different GMs have different rules as to bonus languages.
I am hoping that Nemenia's latest post will get people on the same page. Hopefully people will see such an oath as having power and it can create some level of trust with the group. It is always interesting dealing dealing with evil, but lawful evil can typically be good for an oath at least.

A few notes regarding the posts here. Yzera is the one who got the mini-sword and would not have given it up without knowing what it is. Also, my understanding is that all of our hands are bound behind us and our ankles are shackled, this is why Yzera used her shirt as she did to retrieve the mini-sword.
As far as the IC/OOC thing goes. Frequently in the games I have been in (and I am at almost 21,000 posts), OOC frequently creeps into the IC thread. Yes, it should be avoided but I am a culprit when something happens in the thread, it is usually easiest to ask the question there. If the inquiry takes more than 3-4 posts, then it is usually best to make a post shifting the conversation to the OOC. Chit chat and jokes between players should be in the OOC all the time, but game and rules questions are very common in the IC thread and no how much of a stickler someone is, they are something that is likely to happen.

See, given my character's same feelings on the blade (Had it come his way), I totally understand. But I have no clue how it would have got around.
I honestly have no clue how we're shackled beyond "to the wall."
I can picture us being manacled directly with our arms over our heads, unable to lie down. I can picture 3 feet of chain wrapped through a loop on the wall. I can picture handcuffs behind our backs chained at waist-height.
What about our feet?
No clue.
Also: You guys project a lot. I have no issue with it whatsoever but I may keep it close to the chest. I like the role play potential of nobody necessarily knowing what I'm thinking all the time.
Example 1: (that give me away haha): The oath means nothing to Ilan.
He was already going to escape with these people.
He was already going to visit this benefactor since he has no other connections anymore and needs a job.
He already had this intent and an oath to do so doesn't change his chosen course.
Example 2: He would have kept that blade had it come his way. He would have used it in the group escape.
As such: Sense Motive is a lie detector. It is not a free pass into my character's brain. divineshadow, if you have any questions regarding my character's intentions or inner thoughts at a given time feel free to ask. Please do so on here in the discussion thread, via PM, or via skype and I will PM you the reply (or reply on skype).

I'm out.
PBP is usually a post a day but over the week these have been, in order, the number of posts between mine. I understand that everyone is excited but I joined PBP for a somewhat paced adventure and this is far from that.
5, 2, 23, 4, 1, 23, 1, 1, 23
This means I've posted twice a day all week but have still, three times, been met with 23 post spreads.
I think you guys would have a better time with somebody else.
I spoke with Korwin, too. He and I are of like mind.
DS: Thanks for hopping in and taking over when our previous GM left.

I am sorry to see you go, because of time differences, pbp frequently have gaps in posting and then big spurts. However, I understand the frustration when you wake up or come home and discover 20+ posts.
If you are interested, look at the recruitment threads and see if there are other interesting games that are listed at a slower pace.
