Howdie!
This is Beromar Copperkettle.
Beromar is an ascetic, grumpy and Giant hating Dwarf and now a Hero of Sandstone.
I'm currently working on a rebuild and I've zoned in on two options, both of which are tanky:
Yojimbo Samurai without the Eastern Flavor and Weaponry.
Weaponmaster Fighter.
How do you want to handle loot in this game? I ask as it's very relevant if I go with Weaponmaster. If buying magic weapons isn't a real option focusing on a single weapon would be a major limitation.
Also if I choose to go with Yojimbo there's this advanced Armor Training option that opens up Crafting is that legit?

Alright, some details. Most Paizo races are available, with a few caveats. Things like androids and aliens would get a little distracting. Otherwise ask and I'll weigh in.
None of the Occult classes are allowed or Summoners. Aside from that, have at it. Unchained classes are okay, again, aside from the summoner. Gunslingers are okay with early firearms.
I would generally prefer no third part content, since it's a little hard to gauge how well playtested the material is. If you really want something give me the details and I'll make the call.
You'll be making level 4 characters. Use 20 point buy for abilities. Remember you gain an ability point at level 4.
You'll be able to purchase 6,000 gp of equipment. Crafting magic item feats are okay. But if you take it, stick with it. Same goes for mundane crafting. Make sure you invest the skill points. If you wanna craft that's cool, but it should be a part of your character.
I will try and include some down-time into the adventure. But I can't always gurantee it.
Availablity of magic items for purchase will be dependent on the town you're in. Sandpoint is a bit sleepy, but nearby Magnimar will have just about anything you need.

Oh, one more thing. I'll be playing as a bard with a single dip in cleric. I'm not particularly a stickler for party balance, but I know it matters for others.
We have some folks who've GMed ROTRL here and that's fine. Just try to be on the honor system when it comes to spoilers. Remember, we're just trying to have fun here.
A log of the first campaign was written. I can finish it relatively easily. And that way the new players don't need to read all the thousand-ought posts from the old thread. I'll provide the link soon.

The previous heroes of Sandpoint went their separate ways except for Bruin and Beromar. Your character could be a local resident, or someone who's just in town at the right moment.
Bruin and Beromar are sort of faded local celebrities at this point. Bruin works at the Cathedral to Desna and has been training under Ameiko to be a bard. So he can regularly be seen at the Rusty Dragon.

Beromar has been searching the lands surrounding Sandpoint for traces of the reported giant menace but has not been successful up to now. He might also be training local militias and learning a thing or two about the smithy.
While I really want to be a Dwarf in heavy armor that still leaves me with a bit of leeway in character creation and I reserve myself the right to dabble in Divine Magic or trapfinding should I feel that party balance demands it.

This is the log document from the presvious campaign. It'll be infinitely easier to read then the entire thread.

I still have some folks I'm going to invite when I get home. I was sick last night and couldn't post.
Oh, and there's been a change. I started to read the second book again and realized that we're supposed to be extremely close to level 5. So I decided to just go ahead and move us up.
Make 5th level characters with 10,500 gp of equipment.
Oh, and I know how we're all going to meet. We're going to be recruited to hunt down the Sandpoint Devil. :-)

I have 4 different builds largely figured out but I kind of want to know what the party is composed of before finalizing.
Option 1: Cavalier or Samurai. High AC, high damage, saves should be alright. Decent skills and nice party buffing capacities.
Option 2: Warpriest built around a huge axe and Vital Strike. Sucky skills but adds some divine capacity. Prolly the best Tank I can build due to the strong defensive Buffs available and strong saves. Possibly using VMC Barbarian. A bit of a stretch thematically however...
Option 3: Ranger also with humongous Axe and vital Strike. Better skills but not as sturdy as the other options due to lack of heavy armor.
Option 4: Stalker Vigilante. Also with huge Axe. Could fill the Rogue roll if needed (looks like Mruf has that taken care of though). Would work pretty well mechanically with good damage, defenses, saves and skills. However I don't like the dual identity thing all that much...

I'm always happy to play with YoricksRequiem, and a magus could be cool. For the others, I looked mainly from a fluff standpoint.
Aroden the Returned is... interesting, but I'm not sure how a returned god would be shoehorned into the AP events, motivation-wise. Also, I'm not sure where his mentioned Godly Powers come from, unless he means his class features, which don't seem especially godly? Would the rest of us be sidekicks on his quest?
Haarold seems okay, but if he's headed to Magnimar on a task from his clan, why would he join the old Heroes in Sandpoint?
Cole Red-hand also seems okay, though then we'd be doubled up on gunslingers, depending on which class he intends to follow furthest.
Narah kind of annoys me, but mostly due to my inner Grammar Nazi. The idea itself isn't bad.
Rhyn doesn't appear to have any fluff, but I'd want to know more about his paladin ideology to avoid problems.
