Nasira Yusra Abujamal
As the rift closes, Nasira lets out a sigh of relief. Having been tensed to hold the ring for so long, she takes a moment to work the kinks out of her muscles as she says, "That was most impressive, my friends new and old. Is anyone requiring healing besides myself?"
Ansha Saeralyan
Ansha ceases her struggles in the midst of the slain bebiliths' webbing. "...Would someone please get me out of this stuff? And maybe get it out of my hair, while you're at it?"
Morgrym Ironfist
Morgrym relaxes as the spider demon dies. "Nice work, lad."
Cutting his attention toward Nasira, "I could use some of that healin', lass." He looks down to examine the multiple wounds upon his person before looking back up. "Or possibly a lot of it," he states matter of factly.
Morgrym is down over 100 hp's. 104 to be exact. :P
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
I am considering a mythic heal. With my ability to use the overflow healing for adjacent targets, I could heal up to 180 points for any number of people and one person would have the additional benefit of a restoration spell. So don't be shy, who's hurting or has other effects impacting them?
Morgrym Ironfist
Mythic heal would be AWESOME. That would FINALLY get rid of this stupid fatigue that's been plaguing Morgrym. Fatigue is such a beating. ESPECIALLY for a barbarian.
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
Near as I can tell, that would top off hit points for Morgrym, Nasira, and Arigoder with some extra for Garith. If he’s really that low, she will heal him again. Any concerns with that idea?
Arigoder Senari
Thanks to your earlier healing, Arigoder's only down a wee bit, so he'd be delighted to be topped off.
Argioder smiles, his breathlessness more from reverence than needing to recover after releasing his bloodrage, "This.... blade.... is..... a wonder."
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
Nasira calls her wounded allies in close. "Morgrym, Arigoder, receive the blessings of the Dawnflower." She closes her eyes and focuses on the link she has with Sarenrae and the heat that burns within her lately, pushing the healing to a higher level than her goddess would normally grant.
Mythic Heal for 180 points of healing applied to Morgrym. Due to Abundant Healing, 76 of healing flows to the adjacent Nasira, of which she needs 48, leaving 28 to flow to the bloodrager paladin.
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
"I believe we should be able to return when we are ready, but do we have business to attend to while we are here? The stress of the entry has me a bit distracted. Were we to seek someone out while we were here?"
Player failure more than character, but what are we supposed to do? I think I have the necessary magic prepared to return to the material plane.
Morgrym Ironfist
Breathing a sigh of relief, "Thanks, lass. Feeling like I've got me legs back under me again." Popping his neck from one side to the other, "Alright, I'm ready. Now where to next in this rotten to the core cesspool?"
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
Nasira has darkvision. Suggestions for marching order? My perception is not great, so I don't think I should be assigned scout duties.
GM Variel: Nasira cast life bubble when we fought the iron golem. It would have last four hours for Morgrym and five hours for Nasira and Ansha. Has that expired?
Morgrym Ironfist
@Nasira: Actually, Morgrym literally never needs to breathe. He can hold his breath indefinitely. I'm not sure if you can throw that on someone else or not but I figured to just give you a heads up on that.
Leading the way, "Okay, lot, we've got a path that goes to the east and the south. Any preference?" he asks, looking to them all. "If not, I say we just go south and see where that takes us."
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
I cannot change it now, no. I will double-check my posts to see if we altered the plan in light of that ability.
Edit: It also grants an endure elements effect and protects from high air pressure, so I chose to include you.
Ansha Saeralyan
"Thanks," Ansha says to Arigoder.
Still picking stray strands of bebilith webbing from her clothing and hair, Ansha rejoins the others. "...Dark over there," she muses. "Think maybe we should rest a while before we go venturing deeper into the Abyss?"
Morgrym Ironfist
Oh okay. Well that's cool then.
Still picking stray strands of bebilith webbing from her clothing and hair, Ansha rejoins the others. "...Dark over there," she muses. "Think maybe we should rest a while before we go venturing deeper into the Abyss?"
"You know, I won't object ta that. I could use a rest. We just need ta find us a safe place ta do so."
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
"Lacking access to a demiplane of some sort would mean any safety would be relative. However, Sarenrae sustains me so I no longer require sleep. Outside of my time spent praying to the Dawnflower, I would be able to keep a watch while you rest."
Ansha, so you have rope trick or something like it? I do not.
Ansha Saeralyan
Unfortunately, Ansha would need to have Mythic Power uses available to cast Wild Arcana for rope trick or the like, and she's completely out.
"Yeah...Safety will be relative the whole time we're here, I think," Ansha says, shaking her head.
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
Pausing to allow the others to offer alternative plans...
Arigoder Senari
Argioder says, "I didn't endure what you did before I arrived, so I'm fine to press on... and I can't say I love the idea of sleeping here... But I also think it's important that we're as effective as possible, and we don't know what we'll be facing." He laughs, "Not that it's helpful now, but we might invest in some scrolls to help."
He shrugs, "But, here and now, I guess the best we can do is try to build a shelter and make sure we post guards," his voice tentative as he says it, before suggesting, "But maybe that should be Plan B -- wouldn't hurt to get a lay of the land, first -- might even help us find a better place to take that rest."
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
Show of hands, folks! All in favor of resting?
Aye!
Morgrym Ironfist
You can count me in. :)
"Sounds good ta me. Post guards; build shelter. Or just post guards and sleep on the ground. Either way, I vote for restin' no matter how we go about it."
Ansha Saeralyan
Ansha votes yes to resting also.
The elven enchantress stretches languidly. " Never figured I'd be having a sleepover in the Abyss, of all places."
DM Variel
After the nights sleep the group decides to move to the east and see if there is a passageway out of the Midnight Fane. Arigoder and Morgrym lead the way with Ansha and Nasira in the middle and Garith and Daniel take the rear. The passageway soon turns pitch black causing all but Morgrym to lose their sense of direction. However the dour dwarf is unfazed as he makes ready to push on. However he knows his friends plight and waits for someone to cast a light spell for the rest to see what is going on. He can make out that the path ahead is composed of more crystals and turns northward but does not detect any movement or danger even though the air smell funny to him.
Everyone else though gets a waft of the smell emanating from the passageway...
Crystal Fumes: Inhaled; save Fort DC 23; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 Con damage; cure 2 consecutive saves.
Damage this round 1d6 ⇒ 4
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
Just checking, is the darkness requiring more than darkvision to navigate? I thought most or all of us had darkvision from our heritages at one point. Nasira does, but she can bring light to the darkness if asked.
Does Nasira detect anything of concern about the smell? She might renew Life Bubble...
”Hold, friends, what is that odor? Does it foretell what next we face?”
DM Variel
Yes you are right I forgot your heritage gave it to you...Normal darkvision works perfectly well. Still need a fort save from everyone though but Morgrym...stupid not needing to breathe and al that mythic sustenance thing
The smell is completely foreign to you but considering you are in the Midnight Isles in the Abyss you have never experienced this before. As soon as you notice it though your body feels like it is reacting to the strange odor.
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
That sounds like at least Nasira should attempt the save as detecting it probably exposed her to it.
Fortitude DC 23: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Nasira begins choking, but holds up a hand and motions the rest of the party back toward their camp. Once she can breathe again, she gasps, "The air. It is foul. I should have done this sooner." Holding up the holy symbol of the Dawnflower, she intones, "May the healing light of Sarenrae protect our mortal frames so that we may fight on for all that is good."
Life Bubble for four hours on each of the six companions including Garith and Damiel.
Ansha Saeralyan
Fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
The elf starts looking a bit green around the gills. "Should've expected the air to be bad here," she chides herself.
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
I just lost a thirty-minute post with a half-dozen dice rolls and don't have time to recreate it. I'll be back later. And no, it's not because I didn't select all and copy, it's a "feature" in my browser I haven't figured out yet.
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
OK, trying again. If someone has an ability that would resolve this and interrupt what follows, I'm happy to accept it.
Round 1: Nasira, poisoned, save 1 of 6
Fortitude DC 23: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 2 = 25
(Net: CON -4)
Nasira attempts to neutralize the poison affecting Ansha, casting Neutralize Poison on her.
Caster level check DC 23: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Round 2: Nasira, poisoned, save 2 of 6
Fortitude DC 23: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 11 - 2 = 18
Another round of CON damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
(Net: CON -6)
Nasira attempts to neutralize the poison on herself, using Recalled Blessing to bring the spell back to mind. Because of Recalled Blessing, I roll twice and take the better result.
Caster level check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 201d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Am I able to use a Mythic Point on a caster level check? If so, MP: 1d8 ⇒ 1
(Net: CON -6, MP -2)
Round 3: Nasira, poisoned, save 3 of 6
Fortitude DC 23: 1d20 + 11 - 3 ⇒ (8) + 11 - 3 = 16
Another round of CON damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
(Net: CON -10, MP -2)
Nasira weakly raises her holy symbol yet again and asks her goddess to rescue her from this plight. Casting heal, which removed the ability damage and the poisoned condition.
Ansha will get a restoration spell once Nasira has healed herself, which should return her to full CON. That will require another three rounds.
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
In other news, I am having to reverse-engineer Damiel a bit to figure out where his stats come from and what his abilities are. I will create a profile for him once that's complete.
Ansha Saeralyan
Fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
With Nasira's aid, Ansha doesn't suffer for long. Looking less-green, she takes a deep breath--and wrinkles her nose, almost immediately regretting it.
DM Variel
Correct on the ruling of eldritch breach and recalled blessing as far as I can tell. Ask take your time for Damiel as it’s not too pressing at the moment...
With Nasira magically taking care of the poison in both herself and Ansha and restoring their constitution the group makes ready to take the eastern path and turn north. With the life bubble up no one is affected by the toxic and deadly fumes. Up ahead you see a gap in the passageway that looks like a hollow there. In the hollow is a metal rod lying all by itself.
Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
You see a large advanced ooze the same color and texture of the crystals around you. As you approach it lunges for you and you can act in the surprise round.
Ansha Saeralyan
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Ansha looks to Arigoder. "Huh?" Spotting something, she then continues, "Oh."
Nasira Yusra Abujamal
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
”No, thank... what?”
Morgrym Ironfist
Looking curiously upon the blob, Morgrym draws his hammer. "Any ideas on what that thing is? I don't want it eatin' my hammer if it's some type of demonic acid blob." Morgrym holds a moment to see if there is anyone with knowledge of the creature.
Gonna delay until some type of information can be garnered. Morgrym's learning - slowly but surely - it's better to be safe than sorry. Especially in an area he is totally unfamiliar with.
