Breath Weapon (Su) As a free action once every 1d4+1 rounds, an iron golem can exhale a 10-foot cube of poisonous gas. This gas cloud persists for 1 round; any creature within the area when the golem creates it (as well as any creature that passes through the cloud during the remainder of that round) is exposed to the cloud's poisonous effects. This poison is magically created each time the golem uses this power.Breath weapon—inhaled; save Fort 19; frequency 1/round for 4 rounds; effect 1d4 Constitution damage; cure 2 saves. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Immunity to Magic (Ex) An iron golem is immune to spells or spell-like abilities that allow spell resistance. Certain spells and effects function differently against it, as noted below.
A magical attack that deals electricity damage slows an iron golem (as the slow spell) for 3 rounds, with no saving throw.
A magical attack that deals fire damage breaks any slow effect on the golem and heals 1 point of damage for each 3 points of damage the attack would otherwise deal. If the amount of healing would cause the golem to exceed its full normal hit points, it gains any excess as temporary hit points. An iron golem gets no saving throw against fire effects.
An iron golem is affected normally by rust attacks, such as those of a rust monster or a rusting grasp spell.
Powerful Blows (Ex) An iron golem inflicts one and a half times its Strength modifier and threatens a critical hit on a 19–20 with its slam attacks.

You can go up and whack it Morgrym if you wanted to. It would count as a surprise round and lead to init.

"It's immune to a lot of magic, it's hardened to the point adamantine is the only thing that reliably damages it...and it can breathe out a cloud of poisonous gas every few seconds. And fire heals it, but electricity will slow it down."

The enchantress shrugs. "Going to probably have to break it if we want to go past that door anyway."

As soon as they declare themselves ready, the dwarf halts his breathing entirely and then raises his hammer up high before bringing it down hard upon the golem.

I debated excluding him entirely, but there are some additional effects beyond cleaning his personal air, so I chose to include him. His four hours of protection essentially mean the rest of us have one hour less - seems a reasonable trade.

Ansha deftly casts a spell targeting the giant construct with a spell that she knows will bypass its innate magic defenses. The acid arrow just skims past Morgryms ear to strike the creature doing a small amount of damage that the iron golem almost ignores.

Zeriax pulls out a trick as well as he digs deep within himself to empower his arrows. The second and third strike true penetrating the iron exterior to find weak points but the 1st and 4th just clang off the armor like skin. (AC over 31 even flat footed)

The iron golem them moves quicker than what would be believed as it hops down from the dais it was station on and swings with the mighty scythe twice. As it does so a cloud of gas permeates the area blocking sight to it from everyone but those adjacent to him.

As the dwarf's blood splatters everywhere, Morgrym clenches his jaw in fury as he glares at the golem. All of the sudden the medium sized dwarf grows to double his heighth and swings his equally as big earthbreaker toward the construct with the intent of fashioning it into high quality mugs once he's done with it.

Nasira has no way to deal with the cloud and her offensive options are intentionally limited so she has more room for healing. Ansha, are you able to conjure up a gust of wind or otherwise give Zeriax the ability to see through the cloud?


Morgrym crashes into the iron golem with his trusty earthbreaker.

His first 2 attacks smack the golem solidly as he threatens to cave in the chest of the creature. The golem stands there stoically though as it refuses to yield until destroyed once it has been attacked.

Nasira will use a mythic CSW on Morgrym - I hadn’t paid close enough attention to his injuries. It will be a bit before I have those stats handy - hopefully before this edit window closes.

Nasira reaches through the intervening space to bestow the Dawnflower's healing grace upon the dwarven rager.

The golem reals back and brings the scythe down in 2 great arcs trying to eviscerate the dwarven barbarian. Bereft if it’s cloud cover it is now vulnerable to the retaliation from the party.

Just as Morgrym's previous wounds heal, he finds himself with two more brand new blood splattering wounds! Roaring in pain, the dwarf swings his mighty earthbreaker with everything he has again and again. Wanting to leave nothing remaining of this thing if at all possible.

Frustrated at the ease in which the iron behemoth was able to hit and damage him Morgrym decides to end this in brutal fashion. Gripping the earthbreaker with both hands he slams in into the already weakened chest two more times splitting the cavity in half. The iron golem stands there impassively and you wonder what must you do to this when it then collapses into heal of metal.

Yeah you were right the first attack killed it but the second did not confirm.

Yeah I wasn't sold on that 29 confirming. Hmmmm. Note to self: Ponder Critical Focus as a future feat.

As the construct collapses, Morgrym's fury wanes and he returns to normal. He then gives the pile of metal a couple of more whacks for good measure. "Stupid hunk o' junk," he mutters under his breath as he takes a moment to gather himself. Wiping the blood from his face, "Blast. I didn't think that blasted thing was ever goin' ta fall." Once he manages to recover from his fatigue, "Alright! Which way next? I don't want ta be spendin' any more time down here than we have to. The sooner we get done and get outta here the better."

Variel, is the golem wielding an actual weapon, or the weapon is a part of the construct?

There is an actual large mw scythe amongst the rubble of the iron golem. In addition zeriax you hear the sound of shuffling feet, donning armor, and weapons clearing scabbards. While no one has come out to attack clearly the sounds have alerting others in the complex.

As you are discussing the next steps the doors to the room to the northeast get flung open. Filling the doorway is a disgusting specimen of giant with a large pick carried in 1 meaty hand. It looks at you with anger as you think you woke it up from its sleep. Behind it you see another 1 of the giants as well.

Disease (Su)
While ash giants are immune to disease, they carry a contagious form of leprosy. Any creature struck by an ash giant’s attacks is exposed to this virulent sickness.
Ash Leprosy: Injury; save Fort 23; onset 1 minute; frequency 1 day; effect 1d2 Con damage, 1d2 Cha drain; cure 2 consecutive saves. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Oversized Weapon (Ex)
An ash giant can wield Huge weapons without penalty.
Vermin Empathy (Ex)
This ability functions as a druid’s wild empathy ability, save that it works only on vermin. An ash giant gains a racial bonus on this check equal to its Hit Dice (+14 for most ash giants). Vermin are normally mindless, but this empathic communication imparts upon them a modicum of implanted intelligence, allowing the ash giant to train vermin and use them as guardians (although it does not grant them skills or feats).

Nasira moves laterally with relation to the door and calls on her goddess to smite these creatures with divine fire.

"Dawnflower! Destroy these carriers of disease and plague so that they trouble your people no more!"

Thrusting her holy symbol forward and down, a roar resounds through the antechamber and the giants' room is lit as though a sun had broken through the 'clouds' of its ceiling. Flame, white-hot and yet comforting to the heroes, fills their vision as the room is seemingly consumed in its entirety.

Mythic flame strike has a radius of 20', so it basically fills the entire room shown on the map.

Both giants jump out of the way of the worst of the flames but are still winged and scorched from the holy fire cast upon them. Looking murderous they clutch their picks tighter with deadly intent.
