Again Zeriax moves into line of sight to target the monstrosity - never in their life had they encountered such a strong enemy - "He retreats" - the monk comments to those around him, his tone calm and controlled as always - "He fears us my friends" - he adds, wanting to keep up the morale of his companions.

As Garith is doing very little to Xanthir, I'd like to move toward the loud noise to see what it is. With 60 fly speed I should be able to get to where i can see what the sound was and hopefully have movement to react...
Morgrym Ironfist
Morgrym, did you include the flanking bonus or bless in your attack rolls? Asking so Garith knows if the flank is available to him.
Crap! No. My bad. Totally forgot. +1 to those to hit rolls please. Probably not gonna make a difference this time though. +2 if flanking but there again it appears to be a moot point for this round. At least for Morgrym.
DM Variel
Just a heads up but he can't be flank so don't worry about it. Also I think you all may have missed the part when I said he was "safety in the cloudkill spell and covered from sight". None of you can see him right now except Morgrym who moved adjacent to him.
Morgrym I need a fort save as well from the cloudkill spell since I don't believe you were in range when Nasira cast her spell

Mogrgrym flies into the cloud and misses the first time and thinks he has a perfect blow placed on the second. A wisp of cloud obscures Xanthir for a moment but Morgrym grunts in appreciation as he feels his earthbreaker connect with a powerful blow.

Garith you fly out of the door and around to the secret passageway in time to see a huge construct appear and start to move towards you. This creature is a spider the size of a bull elephant with shimmering magical eyes.

Could I have counter-ed his dimensional steps? I have the ability to counter teleporting based stuff.
Sir Garith Mordrand

Also, not looking to ret-con, but would his teleport also need to make a save versus Garith's Anchoring Aura, or is he not an evil outsider?
DM Variel
He is not an evil outsider Garith.
Also Snow I am not seeing anything that says you can dispel or counter spell this ability. I see what you are talking about with the ability to counter dimensional abilities but it says you need to with a spell level 1 higher than the ability being used. I just don't see what spell level dimensional steps counts as. If you find something let me know and we will use that for the future. For now though I am going to have to keep going as is to prevent a multitude of backtracking efforts.

3 miss chances for Zeriax 3d100 ⇒ (20, 62, 37) = 119 second one hit...
Zeriax launches a salvo of missile fire at where he believes Xanthir should be based on where he saw Morgrym go. Fortunately he was aiming correctly but alas only 1 of the arrows struck home wounding Xanthir.
In the hallway Garith uses a mythic point to move and get close tot he retriever. He knows the retriever has fast healing 5 and construct traits but is not resistant to weapons or magic. Unloading on the foul abomination Garith critically hits with his first blow (without a mythic point being used) and then proceeds to wound the creature 2 more times for a total of 87 damage. The retriever's leg buckles under the blows but it stays standing ready to retaliate.
From within the cloud Xanthir strikes at Morgrym with a drawn weapon that looks like a snake's body. Smacking hi with it Morgrym feels his life force start to ebb away.

Nasira has exactly a single offensive option and knows it may wash over the monster harmlessly - but she trusts her goddess to do what is right..
"Sarenrae, I beseech you! Strike this evil down!"

Bypassing the magic resistance of the Worm that Walks Nasira focuses her divine energies in a holy torrent of fire and positive energy. The resulting mix leaves the worm barely singed as only 1 point of fire damage penetrated the creature. However nothing could revisit the full brunt of holy power that washed into him separating himself from reality and scattering the multitude of undead worms that composed his body!
On the floor where his body fell you find a staff of conjuration, ring of protection +5, rod of quicken metamagic, headband of int and wis +4 (sense motive and bluff) and a rod of withering.

With a look of frustration as he watches the creature take off, it's not a moment later that he notices a column of fire hit it and there upon the floor appears to be nothing but worms crawling around. Raising his fist in the air that's holding his weapon, "YES!!! FREAKIN' YES!!! DIE WORM! DIIIIIIIIIE! By Torag I never thought we were gonna kill that thing!" The dwarf then flies to the ground and lands, "Nice one, Nasira. I thought for sure that thing was gonna give us the slip. Never met anythin' so stinkin' unkillable before."

I was counting on that divine damage doing the deed.
