ok; Outside of the box; there is a massive riot as groups are laying the smack down; probably set off by Master Bob appearing on the field; accusations of cheating, price fixing and general hatred of everyone else and whatnot....
Kosan, Llvenoc and Erkhold walk into this mess, the dead, the living; those half and half; those untold; swords go snicker snack; spells are everywhere; magic this and that; this is a real slobberknocker of epic proportions though the game still plays on; guards do nothing other than execute those few who try to get on the field as that is against the rules though there are only about 20 field guards visible.
So; as soon as you guys appear outside the heavy viewing box; your attacked; am not going to do individual initiative for all those outside; am just doing; two groups; those faster and those slower; so roll group initiative for you three. You can all roll and choose which roll you want to take.
among the fighting you see groups murdering other groups; some players are enjoying it as a random freeforeall some are defensive; some all offensive; one ogre fan is beating off a bunch of goblins; some other ogres are eating some other fans; just pure pandemonium. Several groups look at you, size you up; hate you on sight and attack you and everyone else.

I look up as I hear the cacophony of violence erupt around me. Init d20=17+7=24 I draw my rapier and handcrossbow, and take a defensive stance. I will only attack those who's intent to is do harm to the three of us. If I come across an innocent who seems to be in harms way I will call out to them, and if needed to pull them over to the protection of the three of us.

I call on the power of Moradin to provide some protection for us from any undead in the region at least
- Casting Hide from undead - DC 14 will save for intelligent undead to see us, non intelligent undead auto fail
[Out loud to Kosan and Llvenoc]- "I have warded us against the undead. The longer we can avoid attackin' anyone, the longer this'll last us. Also, try not ter touch any o' the undead or the ward drops as well"
[in the mind link] - "It would seem we are under attack. This is a far more dangerous environment than I think any of us realised in our hasty departure. Stay safe"

I prepare for battle Shield up, Hammer side in use (Val: if you decide to disallow the shield then I fight with the hammer in both hands).
In Mind Link: Stay inside there is a massive riot out here, why I know not I was just looking upon the field and stands a minute ago and there was no riot. But alas those petty, fickle, childish fools who think they are pulling the strings of others often find them tangled and unwilling to move as desired.

ok; there is about 15 feet between your game booth and the one next to you; you can see their armored door.
so; you all are standing on stairs in the nosebleeds but rich section; and generally the nosebleeds is the poorest peoples so being as your coming out of the rich box; well; that is a certain animosity right there.
I will work out who the foes are by tomorrow; looks like with some decent posting we can move into 5th place :)
the viewing boxes have a great view of the field; and some of the stands below them; but not much else; which is why you didnt see the riot as it has not yet spilled out to the feild.
As for others in trouble; sure, lots are but no one you would think to ally with.

"wow; this is not good; Grandmaster Ronin is gonna be pissed that his box here at the games got trashed <looking at the broken table> They should know to be more polite with other peoples things; I fear he will take this out of our hides.I cannot believe those three went outside, are they insane? I dismissed the guards until after the game; there is riot out there; I hope your not to attached to those three; they are sure to be killed and worse.
Was I remiss, is this my fault? Did I not state the danger here, did they not see all the precautions like how armored these boxes are? Did they not see how every group and race sits in large numbers? Dont they know we have been watched and followed and we have many enemies?
Maybe they are tuffer than they look; Kosan's older brother is legend...

Ok; those closest to fighting you seem strangly pack oriented; they use massive flails and massive bladed pole arms; they are about 8 ft tall; they make short work of those around them; there are about 20 of them; in the fighting; you see them; they are.....GNOLLS! well armored (chain shirts) and equipted (swords, flails, sheilds, two handed weapons); among them are three other things; like gnolls swelled up to more massive proportions; they have extra arms, sharp clawed hands and long tenticles coming from their shoulders; abberations if you have ever seen one; ick. then; in the center is a 6ft red with gold trim cloaked figure with his back toward you; he guestures and you get a glimpse of his greyish blue skin and short stubby claws and sorcerous power flares and those arrayed against his gnoll allies fall surrounded in a mistic purple haze; the gnolls facing you guys chop their jaws and make barking, yipping noises. They seem to be just barely able to contain them selves from a rush; there are about six facing you; the others seem to be consolidating their position. Beyond them; the fighting is pure choas; across the way; you see no fighting; seems like this section and the one next to it are the only ones fighting.
Erkholt's spell fires and takes hold; the ghouls here ignore you and fight others, strangly not attacking the gnolls.
your corner is about 20ft wide and square; on each side is a wealthy viewing box; Ronin's has a fair amount of ice and the door is completely frozen; the other door is also armored; and has magic looking symbols on it; seems obvious it is in use though you dont recognise the heraldry; you remember back and saw some very wealthy necropolitains and there guards go inside.

Kemenbi looks at Nebibit with unabashed gratitude at her response. He opens his mouth, probably to embarrass himself again, but is distracted by the fae magic.
"Mrowr!,... er, I mean, Whoah!" Kemnebi says, startled by the sudden icy transformation of the room. He shivers in the cold, suddenly glad for his furry skin. He looks around wide-eyed, but seems to relax with Grymbol's explanation. He nods his assent, and reaches over his shoulder into his magic pack to pull out his cold-weather cloak.

I take note of the one with greyish blue skin, and his sorcerous power. Trying give myself a mental picture so I can pick him out of a crowd if I survive this. I also take a quick head count of how many ghouls are here as the gnolls close in on our position. In the Mindlink. Looks like we just ran into our good buddy Aethliss and friends. Keep an eye out for that Glaive! Watching as everything moves in slow motion. The baying of the gnolls. The ghouls eating the fans they slaughtered. The Purple Mist dancing across the stands from who I can only guess is Aethliss. In the background I hear the noises of the game, and the cheering of the fans. Totally unaware of the drama that is about to be played out. I find at this moment a strange tranquility. Embracing it just before the violence crashs into us like a tsunami of carnage. Finding I rather die here in a swirl of blood and meat than listen to that damned bird run its mouth one more time.
I will only fire once they begin there charge. Scream out. Erkholt, Kosan, its a good day.... There is no malice on my face, just release.
I will also activate my shield spell from my rapier.

Having cast my magics and then determined our most immediate threat, I draw my weapon and ready my shield. I have not seen such chaos and destruction since the fall of my clanhold, a day that saw my fathers death.
Llvenoc speaks, and I know where his thoughts are going. I respond to the elf "Aye, while tis a grand day Elf, tis not a time ter be considering death as yet. I have promised me god a solid attempt at completin' his mission fer me. First we save a goddess, then I can start workin' on me green man."
I shrug into the shield, feeling the comfort of the craftmanship and remembering seeing how it looked on my father when he went to defend the great gates against the attacking hordes.
"Instead of preparing yerself fer death Llvenoc, find me a place I can defend with me magics. Give me a place with some stone or steel to brace me back against and I can hold this rabble fer weeks. I have another protective ward as can protect us against those of evil intent, but tis a stationary ward so we'd best be sure of our ground afore I cast it. Kosan, get ready ter move with us lad, Fightin' and dyin' here is only good as long as some survive to tell yer tale"
OOC stuff for my actions (spoilered for space, feel free to read it)
ooc- I can cast magic circle against evil, but I'm pretty sure its a stationary circle. I'm sure you guys know how it works but just in case - It will give us a bonus to Ac and saves and prevents evil outsiders from entering. Also prevents mind control of evil creatures affecting us. Might be useful against a group of gnolls and their sorcerous mate. Will cast it as soon as we're able to be in a defensive position. If its a mobile circle then I'll cast it immediately. Cheers

I laugh. Erkholt, I am already dead. The price has been hanging over my head for awhile. Doesn't matter if they try to collect or others. I was saying its a good day to kick some furry BLEEP. I look around seeing if there is any place we can use a defensive spot. d20=1+4=5.

Take 10 on listening roll, easily makes it
Kalona makes rapid apologies to the departing guests for how the events turned out, especially to the dragon whose services were ignored and waves them a pleasant goodbye with her wing. She then turns to survay the room...sighs and her skeleton approaches. From under her wing she pulls out a cloak with her beak which she places in the skeletons hands. Over the next few minutes she works the cloak until she has a nice 'nest' in the skeletons arms then walks into it and has a seat.
She then pulls out the 3 'sparklies' she got from the Fey and proceeds to magically study them. Those watching with magical sight will see the glows of the magics flowing around her and the stones, one at a time as she attunes her self to the knowledge they contain. counts as an identify for each stone, takes 6 rounds total, 2 for each stone
She then puts them away under her wing and turns to Nebibit.
"Did you hear the Fey warning and advice that was spoken? I do not know much about those powers you follow, however, these names seem akin to them. Do you know of them or what the warning may mean?"
Repeated for convenience or if Nebibit didnt hear Kalona will speak it.
"Kalona, Kalona, Kalona"
"Beware the gaze of An Hotep Sule
for it is a look most cruel
a tenderizer for his gruel"
"look to Amon Ra Exthesis

"Green Man guard of many fits
restless dead is how he sits
a heart of god is in his mits"
Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast'
Hathor, who has been sitting quietly on Kemnebi's shoulder this entire time, hops down as the mage reaches for his cloak. She 'meowls' in pain from the cold floor, and immediately leaps BACK up onto Kemnebi, claws digging into his clothes to make sure she doesn't fall. She gives Kemnebi a 'look'.
"What?" HE asks, staring whisker to whisker with his familiar. "Not you too?!?" He moans. Hathor sniffs in response, climbing into his hood as he raises it for warmth. Not even her tail is showing.
KEmnebi looks around, not exactly sure what to do about,... whatever it is that is happening. So he finds himself listening to Kalona as the bird speaks to Nebibit. He hums the tuneless ditty silently to himself as tries to remember if he's heard any of it before,...

In the Mindlink. Where we stand now with our backs against the box. The Gnolls will have a height advantage, and a reach advantage with there weapons. There is no place where we can stand here that they can't reach all of us. The only advantage I see that the stands limit mobility. I can cast a darkness with hopes they trip and break there necks, but I don't think they wouldn't notice in there frenzied state. But it would greatly limit our ability to defend ourselves. Gnolls rely on there scent much more than there sight. [/ooc]
In the Mindlink. Appreciate the gesture Astinos. What's more important is to remember this. Aethliss has twenty gnolls with him. Three are aberrations, larger than the rest, and have tenticles instead of arms. Aethliss has blue gray skin, and a clawed hand. Can't see his face yet. He has a number of ghouls with him as well. Aethliss cast a spell that released a purple mist. Put Kemnebi to use and have him figure out what that spell it is so you can defend against it.

Out loud in Battle Tongue. Good thing the Gnolls are to stupid to realize we are the decoy, and what they really want is in the other box. Bluff d20=19+7=26. If needed I will use one of my +3 bonus's from Hermes on this one to make it a 29. Val let me know if its expended. Man I am glad I rolled good on this one. Now I just hope the Gnolls or one in there group speaks Battle Tongue, and falls for it.

grumpling under her breath, if only the dwarf hadnt destroyed the hosts table, insulted the guests and charged out into the middle of a riot without thinking, bringing others in tow, he at least knows how to start a fire... Whats the use of having companions that blindly stumble around enciting anything and everything they encounter against them, even the ones trying to help?
Kalona looks around at everyone as the chill deepens in the room. Seeing that folks are shivering and no-one is moving she sighs...guess they are all city folk.
She looks around the room to see if there is a good location for a fire (fireplace would be perfect...). If so she will make the skeletons busy getting it ready. Also, I am guessing there is a window? Any other exits beside the frozen one?

Nebibit's teeth start to chatter as the rooms temperature starts to fall She looks over at Kemnebi "D-d-d-didn't think of B-bringing One of T-t-those" She manages to chatter out whilst looking at the blanket.
"No worries Neb, you know I used to be a cat-scout!" The mage smiles at his friend as he reaches back into his pack once more, and his hand emerges with the blanket from his sleeping roll. He hands it to Nebibit.
"Here you go!" He smiles, his teeth not yet chattering, but they are gritted tightly against the cold.
"Kemnebi, My lady Decidio, a spell that when cast creates a purple haze and drops all enveloped within. Any ideas? We may need to defend against it if they fall out there."
Kemnebi's head swivels back around, and he continues to search his memory for references to the names Kalona mentioned. He furrows his brows in thought, and begins trying to remember spells that might take the form of a purple mist, Including forbidden magics. (Hey, just because he's not supposed to CAST it doesn't mean he can't know how to defend against it!)

Does it not know that by its constant bashing of one of our own, Llevonic, that it is making him go more and more towards insanity. Why has it chosen a path for him to tread and why does it try to keep him on that path. Does it not see the thin line he walks between sanity and insanity or is that its plan to drive him to despair, mental anguish or possibly even suicide? If Llevonic does cross beyond where we can not reach him I will surely blame it for his demise. Also how does it have unlimited powers yet it never helps the party only itself and all its bargains are done for the supposed party's benefit yet only it and its fellow creatures benefit like the quest to get Aaz or bargaining with fae from the night court or worst of all bargaining with a evil shadow dragon? But most of all if it is not a cleric then how does it control those skeletons. I at least hope that with its awesome powers it helps the rest of the party stay warm and not think of its self yet again.

giggles a bit Then remembers she is suppose to grumble under her breath when talking with a dwarf. She grumbles under her breath: Wonders if the dwarf would be unoffended if his property or items where 'marred'...like his axe, or beard even. Pausing, to shiver a bit with the rest of the comrades the dwarf left behind. She continues overseeing the skeleton's actions. she grumbles again; she will have to thank her mentor for thoughtfully giving her a device that enable some small control over the otherwise useless bones laying around. She wonders if the second time she has mentioned this slips past the painted delusions of others Suddenly a grim thought enters her mind.
continues grumbling under her breath: wonders if the dwarf has the same affliction that Llvenoc has. Hmmm, his senses seem to be seeing things differently than reality. Perhaps Llvenoc is not insane for wanting to bring back one of the most evil Powers that has existed, sworn enemy to all dwarven kind and anyone else, including her 'own' race, the Spider-like. So vile that even the dwarven Power Erkholt follows refuses to heal any of the darken tribe, even with her gone, even with them good at heart. Perhaps, he is under the affliction of a terrible disease and now its spread to the dwarf. Warping his sense of reality, unable to truly see what is before him and painting an artificial existance for him to dwell in. This is quite grim, a disease that could do that, Kalona certainly hopes she doesnt catch it. Or any of the others.
she thinks back on the events that led to this place
continues grumbling:the party before she met them fighting against some shadows and another thing, she remembers freezing some of them in place, that the group could overcome without additional injury. She remembers warning the group of the impending explosion caused by the dwarf and blowing away the harmful vapors, she is still a bit hurt from those. She remembers blocking the path by herself from the advance of the necromancer, zombies and ghouls that persued the group with what little items lay about. She remembers giving Kemnebi the word of control for that wand he has tucked away in his robe. She remembers seeing the Power that has much control in this place searching for those that 'marred' Its shrine and warning those of its vision. She remembers advocating for Kemnebi and Nebibit so that this curse that summons ill luck could be removed and managing to at least give them a chance to get it removed while others simply dealt with a trivial figure, whose opinion mattered not to those who cast the curse. She remembers the Fey attacking Grymbol and how her willingness to follow the ancient rituals interviened and kept them from destroying him. How she gave up 3 of her feathers as much a part of her as that dwarf's beard is a part of him in the trade that followed. She remembers the warning the Fey sent to her just before they left of the dangers that lurk ahead for the party. She remembers getting the dragon to be willing to help hunt for Llvenoc's cousin at risk to herself, after all one wrong move from Llvenoc may very well have reflected on her and a close up of a dragons mouth is not really what she would want. Him simply ignoring such a frighteningly powerful creature, why its lucky they are both alive at all, evil being what it is.
she grumbles on; truly this disease Llvenoc and Kosan have is a most frightening thing. Hmmmmm....hummmm...hoooo; gumbling is fun even in the cold. giggles...grumbles
Llvenoc
In the Mindlink. I will say this plainly. I believe you are ignorant in the way of Dragons. If I thought you truly wished to endanger my cousin I would have killed you on the spot. I never asked for your help. I didn't give you leave to start a discourse with that beast regarding the affairs of my cousin. You started making deals with an Evil Creature regarding my family without even consulting me or anyone else. All you did was put my cousin at risk. You made the Dragon aware of my cousins prescence, and put her life in danger. I WILL NEVER, and I repeat NEVER negotiate, barter, trade with such a power evil creature. I will Never allow my cousin to be used as a hostage. People can fix there own problems. If they can't then they will ask for help. Don't butt in where your not wanted.
Now to a matter of my faith in my Goddess. It is my business, not yours. For you do not share my faith. There was a time when Lolth wasn't evil. Granted it was very long ago when my kin walked freely upon the surface of this world, and still embraced the sun. Is it wrong to have faith that she will once again be embraced by the light? If she who is the greatest and first of us can't be saved. Then what hope is there for one such as myself? Considering all the lack of trust, and hate. All the venomed words masked with words of "sickness". I can see why my people turned there backs on you all long ago. Its true this group has had its infighting, but we resolved all our differences before you came along. All I have seen you do is stoke the fire, and heat our hatreds. Everytime someone doesn't agree with you. You are quick to say oh that Dark Elf is insane. That Fey is broken and not acting as he should. Oh the Dwarf caught a sickness from the Dark Elf. I am done with it! I am tired of your poison! So somebody throw a hood over that Bird to shut her up, or drop me from this damned Mindlink. I have a battle to win, and her chirping is distracting.
Kalona
I am so happy to hear you say that, Llvenoc. I didnt think it would be so soon but it looks like you are making quite good progress. Yes, yes quite good. Things are really looking up.
Oh, and deals with the dragon? He wouldnt want and deals or trade with you, you have nothing to offer. He was just showing off probably because he was rather bored. Wouldnt be an issue but you tend to say and do things that irritate others and dragons, good or evil or somewhere inbetween like to eat irritations. I do wonder, how you could tell he was evil...if in fact he was, certainly not because of what me and the dwarf grumbled about, one assumption feeding another and all...Oh wait, I am not suppose to know anything about dragons..right, um never mind.
"Hmm, now about this cold..."
Valegrim
No; resist cold is also for environment; the amount of resist x you have tells you what degree of that enviroment you can withstand without penalty. I an quote the page of the rule if you like, but you have no discomfort currently. The heart of Arktus Torr; the Citadel of the Winter Queen or the plane of ice, frost and the like, for instance, would need cold resist/20 to move around comfortably without winter gear in most situations.
I put on my cloak I have nothing that will help anyone with cold.resistance to cold only helps against damage, correct?Someone can use me bedroll to help keep warm.Yes, I know it is small, but I figure that it can be used as a shawl

For Kenembi:
good roll by the way.
the first verse is about an evil god who is twisted and evil depicted much like a misshapen mole of gargantuan size with a jackals head and claws that would make a dragon proud; it is said his faithful could command eaters of carrion and their direct gaze was death or paralysis; it is thought that Bast and Hathor wiped out the cult of his worship and he was no longer part of the world.
the second verse is about the greatest and most powerful war priest of Osiris in memory; when Set and his allies killed Osiris and scattered his pieces; this High Priest set out with thousands of his faithful to gather and restore the god; that was hundreds of years ago; they are legend, but their deads and story unknown; many of the greatest of heroes went with this guy; namely the most powerful mage priest of Isis as well. This elite troop and quest were called the Immortals; sworn to let not even let death stop them in their holy devotion to restore Osisis; the Green Man.
The third verse seems to be talking about the High Priests personal guard, that they live on in restless undeath and have protect the Heart of Osiris; and thus having it; cannot be evil, but cannot rest until their mission is accomplished.
you should be thinking that this knowledge; if true; was a great and most potent gift given to you by the fae and Grymble paying for it in blood was for the good of all. Remember that Egyptians very much believe in sacrifice through pain, suffering, and death to overcome obstacles and only the god/man divinity of the Pharoah intercedes for mankind to withold the judgement of man by the gods in the form of plagues and the like. Thus Pharoah's will is divine and a big time life insurance policy for Egypt; thus, if something happened to Pharoah...literally all hell would break loose.

Darkness might keep the leader guy who is most assuradly a mage or evil preist from blowing you to kingdom come; at least for a few rounds hehe

Do you speak Gnoll? These guys have a very limited understanding of even common tounge and the other guys dont look vaguely like civilized races; think hard about what language your going to use and let me know and I will apply your rolls as given.
Now I just hope the Gnolls or one in there group speaks Battle Tongue, and falls for it.

the window is about 20ft wide and 8 ft high and runs half the length of the room section facing the center of the arena; there are no other visible doors other than the main entrance. There is no fire place; but the cooks have a stove and there are a few brass braisers around for scented oils and incense; the temperature is usually fairly constant underground so no fireplace was thought to be needed.
if you or anyone else is going to search for doors or...ask someone; then let me know.

Kenembi's roll:
Purple haze
a powerful forbidden spell of evil mind magic and necromancy that saps both the will and the life from its targets. References you remember refer to it as somewhat common battlemagic used my Illithid Mages; ie; mind flayers, whom Egyptians are sworn as a people to seek out; expose; and destroy; it is the oldest law known to Egypt; in pictographs dating back many thousands of years; said to be handed down to the people by Thoth himself to Pharoah; commanding it so; and the death of a thousand curses (and they mean it literally) to any of any station for any reason who aid or help those agents of the Old Ones; thus mind flayers, aboleths; deep ones; ect. Causing the death of any of these enemies in any Egptian Gods name often brings the gaze of Thoth to upon the party which can be blessed by great gifts.
Kemnebi's head swivels back around, and he continues to search his memory for references to the names Kalona mentioned. He furrows his brows in thought, and begins trying to remember spells that might take the form of a purple mist, Including forbidden magics. (Hey, just because he's not supposed to CAST it doesn't mean he can't know how to defend against it!)

ok; did the guys outside the safe confines of the box; ok; semi safe due to the intense cold; roll initiative?
ok; protections against the cold; the cats have the equivilence of cold weather gear with their fur; so normal cold weather gear or fur (or feathers) or cold resist 5 would leave you comfortable right at freezing to a certaub range below; deep freeze requires more protection; thus artic cold weather gear; or fur and cold weather or cold resist 5 and cold weather gear; or cold resist 10 or necklace of adaptaion or spell or like that.
right now; it is freezing cold; moving toward deep freeze.
Grymble:
you KNOW that the winter fae only use intense cold for protection and to teach or weed out the weak. Usually the teaching means submit to the will of Winter or get frozen solid until you do. It is KNOWN that the area around Artus Torr is littered with frozen beings in contemplation of their transgressions real or imagined. The most favorite of these so imprisoned are within the citadel itself where the queen thaws them out; tortures them, and refreezes them from time to time. So, 1) you not a threat; so that cannot be it; though the team is being threatened so that might be the reason for the cold; a threat you may not be able to overcome; or; 2) the fae are teaching you or the party a lesson in power and you need to submit; or 3) your the weak and they are weeding you all out, though that seems unlikely as they dealt fairly amiably with Kalona.

I say out, but softly Me wonders could the lesson be about. I know they do not consider us a threat. I do not think they consider us weak. Maybe it is about us and our goal, some lesson they want us to know. What is the cost if this information they gave us. I say louder What is owed for that knowledge? A favor given is a favor owed. What do ye what from us?

Our group init is 27. I will say the bluff in Valanese. When either the Gnolls start there charge, or if the guy starts to cast his spell I will cast my darkness ability on a copper piece. Range is touch. Caster level is equal to my level. Its a 20ft radius, it counts as a magical darkness and lasts 10 min/lvl so 1 hour. Concealment bonus for both sides will be 20 percent unless they can see in magical darkness or have blind fighting. In the Mindlink. Hope you guys can fight in magicial darkness. This should blind him from casting most magics on us.

[out loud]"Well, I can see well enough in the underdark Lad, never tried in magical darkness though. However, if it be obscurin' magics yer after ter buy us more tiome and stop big ugly over there from burstin' us with his spells, I can call on the earth to let forth her breath and fill the area with a fog so thick you could carve it."
I hold forth my magic symbol and call on Moradin to release the traped moisture and fumes of the stone work around the area. About twenty feet from where we stand, the fog begins to billow and roll outwards, obscruing everything within it form sight.
ooc-I'll cast obscuring mist 20 feet from us and between us and the gnolls. This will put a wall of fog that obscures vision any further than 5 feet. It may slow them down, or at least cause the big guy to waste a spell dispelling it. Combine that with Llvenocs darkness and we have some fairly serious cover. The fog expands in a 20 foot radius, so we should be right on its edge.

In the mind link: My weapon does blind fighting and tells me (whispers to me) when enemies are within 30 Ft from me and where. Llevonic tie a rope to us so that we do not get lost in this fog. Darkness. Erkholt thank ye for the fog I feel better now that we may have the advantage of concealment, remember to stay behind me and I shall try to keep them off of you and llevonic. Please heal me as needed and strike when necessary. Llevonic ye be our range man. How are ye doing with in the confines of the room . Ye do know that cold makes metal brittle, such as doors, but we have a major fight out here so possibly go through the window into the crowd. Use distracting spells if ye go that route so as fighting in the stands may help your escape. Beware of of Kaluna she is I believe a necromancer who we know continually makes deals with evil. Astinos in my staed protect the party and get them out of there. Grymbol ye be of the fae get our party out of there.
Astinos
In Mindlink: "Aye"
Removing his cloak he drapes it around Decidio's shoulders, then looks around at the group. "How are you all doing with the cold? Kemnebi, Grymbol, I see you deep in thought, and this information I am sure is of great importance. If out friends outside must hod our enemies at bay, let it not be in vain. We must get out of here."
Astinos looks to the wizardess, "My Lady, is there an alternate way out of here?"
Decidio Decendo Cessi
Keep your coat as your metal armor will chill you to the bones; I am not as suceptable to cold nor fire...nor many other things... that you are, that is, those fully human, than I. I see that ice is forming on your armor; rime upon your shield, at this rate we may be frozen solid if we do not move from this place.
It would appear those outside have a short reprieve from our enemies, but that too is but illusion of confidence.
Are you cold, it is not unmanly to be cold; you have but to look into my eyes and hold me; give yourself over to that which is between us; shine like the sun with depth of feeling and thus dispel this glamour of ice.
Perhaps you have other ideas; what say you Lord Astinos? No choice is without danger.
<she cocks her head and looks deep into your eyes inquireingly>

[hehe stupid word checker cant tell when a word is used correctly I see]
The Wizardess says: butler; is there a secret way out of this room
the butler responds: not that I know of; but probably.
Wizardess: if you cannot find it; then open that door.
Butler: as you say milady; <he hand signals the cook; who begins examining the floor an walls while the Butler goes over to the main door>

the robes figure turns toward the group; you can now see a few tenticles hanging from its face area.
he begins making mystic movements and magic swirls about his fingers; the fog rises up and darkness intercedes to cover the area; the gnolls bark out in surprize; last sight was them moving forward though some were looking at the other booth.
Gnolls are moving cautiously, half move so they dont find you this round.
the spell from the robed figure envelopes the are; filling it with swirling colors that scream toward you, but the raising darkness swallows the colors, though now blinded by the darkness, you avoid this particular spell affect.
Kosan; your weapons whispers the location of gnolls as 15ft and closing; easily in range of their weapons if they knew you were there
they are climbing over stands up to get to you; you have another 15ft you can back up then your back will be against a very high brick wall.
next round actions.
Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast'
Thank you DM, now lets see if I can make USE of this info before we freeze to death!
Kemnebi helps place his sleeping blanket around Nebibit's shoulders, his brow still furrowed in thought. He says aloud, Not shouting, just speaking in a normal voice, any who are trying can hear easily.
"Those Verses, most assuredly refer to beings I read about in ancient texts,..."
His eyes glaze over, and he begins reciting, almost as if he was in a lecture hall, but oddly, as if he is being fed the knowledge he recites.
"The first verse is about an evil god who is twisted and evil. Depicted much like a misshapen mole of gargantuan size with a jackals head and claws that would make a dragon proud; it is said his faithful could command eaters of carrion and their direct gaze was death or paralysis; it is thought that Bast and Hathor wiped out the cult of his worship and he was no longer part of the world."
"The second verse is about the greatest and most powerful war priest of Osiris in memory; when Set and his allies killed Osiris and scattered his pieces; this High Priest set out with thousands of his faithful to gather and restore the god; that was hundreds of years ago; they are legend, but their deads and story unknown; many of the greatest of heroes went with this guy; namely the most powerful mage priest of Isis as well. This elite troop and quest were called the Immortals; sworn to let not even let death stop them in their holy devotion to restore Osisis; the Green Man."
"The third verse seems to be talking about the High Priests personal guard, that they live on in restless undeath and have protect the Heart of Osiris; and thus having it; cannot be evil, but cannot rest until their mission is accomplished."
"This knowledge; if true; Or I should say, Accurate, was a great and most potent gift given to us by the fae and Grymble paying for it in blood was for the good of all. Thank you." He finishes thoughtfully, looking at Grymbol and where he last saw the fae. He then turns a positively beatific smile upon Nebibit.
"I see the connection now Neb! Rescuing the goddess is our first priority, but If I'm right, the Green Man could be, I believe IS, none other than an aspect of,... OSIRIS! We MUST help him! It is our sacred duty!" I hope I understood that right! Otherwise I'm looking pretty foolish for a smart cat here! ;P
The fervency of his speech surprises Nebibit and the others who have spoken with him in the early part of their journey. As Kemnebi has always shied away from declaring anything but vague allegiance or service to deities, even Bast.
He looks as if he is ready to say more, but his mind is still processing information. He glances out the window as he opens his mouth, and the sees for himself the effects of the enemy spellcaster's evil magics for himself through the frosted window. For an instant, he is frozen in place.
"Purple haze,... Death magics,..." He mutters. "no,... no,... NO!!!" He cries aloud, ending in a feral yell.
ILLITHIDS!!! He screams both physically and mentally, his rage and fury visible to deaf and blind people at this point. He points his staff at the image through the frosty window.
Eqyptian knowledge for Nebibit, courtesy of Vale: (This will explain Kem's outburst) :)
Illithid Mages; ie; mind flayers, whom Egyptians are sworn as a people to seek out; expose; and destroy; it is the oldest law known to Egypt; in pictographs dating back many thousands of years; said to be handed down to the people by Thoth himself to Pharoah; commanding it so; and the death of a thousand curses (and they mean it literally) to any of any station for any reason who aid or help those agents of the Old Ones; thus mind flayers, aboleths; deep ones; ect. "Ware all! The spell is a deadly Mind Flayer Battle magic!" He cries both aloud AND in the mind link.
"BY Thoth, Bast and Osiris! This creature dies, now!" He howls. Once again the emotional mage undergoes a transformation before your eyes. He still shivers with the cold, and wears a look of uncertainty upon his brow. But his eyes and gaze are like steel, and if his voice shakes, it is with fury. There is no doubt that the furry mage means to kill this particular spellcaster. Immediately, and with his own claws if possible.
"So, does anyone know if this window glass is spell-protected?" He asks aloud, very casually and soft voiced. He reaches into his magic pack and withdraws a scroll with a slight smile.
