To the East; high in the sky there is a hole in the clouds; a small parting whereas the first rays of the morning pour through and illuminate the ice pyramid; it shines in brilliant white casting some rainbow like colors. The lone beacon of brillance in a otherwise dark morning; rain falls more heavily upon the swamp and it is snowing a bit upon and around the pryamid. From the hole is the clouds a brilliant star shines; it comes down swiftly like a shooting star looking to head right for the pyramid; it comes speedily; running would be of no avail for a true thing like an asteroid would destroy many miles of area.

"Well now, snow. Whod'a thought ta see something so beautiful as snow in this place." I take a deep breath, loving the smell of snow and the crispness in theair "Helps to clear the nose of the stink of swamp"

Inwardly I am relieved that the fight didn't happen. I am on a mission from Moradin to find the mysterious green man, and fights tended to get in the road of missions.

When the lights appear, I look at them intently, but can't seem to penetrate too deeply into the veil of brightness around them.

"I think there's three of 'em lads. I'm guessing by the way no one else is running screaming in panic that these things are what we've been watin' for"

I only beat the DC by 3, I took into account that Dwarves have dark vision so ignored the +1 for darkness. Given the dwarf we're going to see is a cleric, and that high level spells are carried by messengers from the gods, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and predict thats what these things are. I don't have knowlede religion ranks but I do pray for me spells in the same way. Do I have any inclination as to what these lights might be?

Male Changeling (looking like an Elf) 5 Rogue 1 Fighter

Humm there are 3 distint lights headed to the top of the pyramid... wate its acualy 3 beings in those lights. I continue as the lights reach the top of the pyramid

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Sure; your stab is accurate; though you dont have high level spells yet; other priest you know do and yes they carry the high level spells to clerics each servant appropriate to the diety it serves.

I choose to keep the knowledge of the light's orgins to myself. It never hurts to keep some secrets in a place where you're the stranger and others are in awe of the things you understand ot take as common place.

"Well boys, I guess this is the sign we were watin' for. Can I head on up and see the creator of this great Pyramid now?" I look across to the Egyptian contingent and the others following them, wondering if they too are eagre to meet with this mysterious and powerful dwarf.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

The lights get closer and closer until all looking can see the three figures. They come to stop upon the top of the pyramid. Their presence is so strong in comparison to the area around them that some minor changes take place. All those with a Chaotic aspect to their alignment find that their thinking becomes more ridged and their sense of freedom and open expression and like ideals war within their soul for the tranquilty of uniform thought, direction and the need to fit into an organized group; neutrals are affected much the same way but to a lesser degree. As for those who have an evil descriptor; you begin to deeply feel an uncomfortable sense of self judgement and feel all the sorrow and pain any victim of your evil actions. Nuetral feel much the same way but to lesser degree. This is a very subtle thing; not overtly oppressive at this distance; but still to represent this inner termoil and its distraction; any actions for the next 10 minutes game time by those with Chaotic and Evil discriptors will be at a -2; any with any part of an alignment besides Lawful Good; will be at a -1 to any actions. Anyone of LG alignment will feel the world is more in harmony; and see that these three figures are perhaps more real that the world around them; anyone LG will be blessed for the next 24 hours and be at +2 to any action they take; anyone with the good descriptor but is not Lawful; will be at +1.

Ok; the largest figure is about 25 ft tall; and has wings of a wingspan of 30ft. It is humonoid and beautiful to all Good creatures; Its skin is a very light blue, it black hair long and flowing; is wearing flowing robes of white; and carries a massive staff in one hand and has a enormous, sheathed two handed sword and a colossal bow on its back; it is the only one of the three that lands on the pyramid itself.

The second figure is about 12ft tall; and is garbed only in baggy trousers of pure white; it's bald head shines in the rays of sunlight that strike the three and give its golden skin quite a radiance. It too has a two handed sword strapped sheathed on its back. This figure is the most animated of the three; with its 15ft golden wings; flies a tight circle around the other two.

The third figure does not fly at all and has no actual wings; but does have a golden aura with rainbow hues that form wings of pure energy; this figure is the only one obviously armored in what you would guess to be ornate, celestial plate armor covering all but the face of its powerfully built stature; it seems to be standing in the air with no visible support; it face seems to be that of a bear or dog or some such; details to far away to tell at this distance. This figure has a shield at its back and a pair of flanged maces on its wide, ornate belt.

The shortest figure moves first; he puts both his arms in an outstretched gesture thumbs and forefingers touching; a small energy cloud forms; it decends onto what you can now make out what might apparently be a smallish crouched figure on a fairly large but low stone table. The golden figure acts next; it flies directly down and then straight up away from the crouched figure leaving a trailing column of fire; but no; not fire; just shimmering red lights that look like fire; perhaps celestial fire; it decends into the crouched figure who is apparently not harmed. The largest figure then glows a bit brighter around its head; the eyes become quite intense; but nothing apparently happens; anyone with divine magic knows that some seriously powerful divine energy has been just moved about.

then, the shortest figure begins to move up and away; the largest figure following and the golden figure again circling around the midway point between the two. They streak off at phenominal speed; the entire event taking only a couple minutes.

The ray of sunlight gets swallowed by the dark clouds; rain continues in the swamp area and a light snowfall here by the pyramid.

One of the vikings say; hmm; zer Big en zis time.
Another says: yet
Another says: big Majik; zat vun
Another says: Nacht die tur; vell, bist yea kin go up friend dwarf ifn zee wants to; but no point. Baelinor komes down twice a day. See dem vomen komst; Baelinor comes to get his hair trimmed <all the vikings hoot and hollar like this a very funny joke> twice a day. Bide a moment and yea kin spreak ta him.

< a group of five women with baskets and shears and knives approach; two bring a very nice looking and solid chair; they come to the foot of the pyramid and set out a large blanket and wait>

You see that after a few moments; the figure in the gloom which now returns atop the pryamid, moves down off the table; it seems to be carrying several blankets and draggins some long cloth behind it; some sparkles of metal can be seen from all the the fires and torches set up around the perimeter of the pyramid and from the Viking encampment. The figure carries a large sheild in front of it; but the emblem cannot yet be made out at this distance. This large hump begins to move down the central steps to the base.

What do the PC's do at this point?

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

go up or wait or something else?

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Keep in mind that the pyramid is like 400 ft high.

As this walking mound comes down the stairs; those with night vision; and sharper visions like low light and other enhancements will begin to take notice of details; the sun is coming up but it is not very much brighter as the clouds are very thick, dark, and full of rain; there is also a bit of wind here in this clearing which of course does not penetrate the jungle itself.

The mound is about 5ft high; and about 5ft wide and is coming in a steady pace. except for the large sheild out front and parts of metal armor sticking out of the pile; only two piercing eyes will be seen. This whole figure is covered in very thick, coarse hair; so much so that it trails behind him a good 10 ft or so; how this thing moves without tripping over all the hair is bewildering if a dwarf is really under all that mess to begin with.

sort of imagine Cousin It from the Adam's Family; is kinda how we always described it but so much more so; we are talking massive afro type redish brown or black hair of excessive thickness and growth.

Some things to note as this figure gets closer:
The sound of its footfalls are exactly measured in cadence.
The closer you are to this figure; the colder it is; 0 degrees in 10ft
You can easily hear the massive clink of plate armor.
To those with Chaotic alignments; he appears a big hazy; bit indistict.
To those with Lawful alignments; he is crisp; more real that what is around him. Solid.
His pace is much faster than expected considering his probable armor.
He appears to be studying you as much as you all study him.

Unless he decides to increase his movement; it will take a couple minutes for him to descend; you all do actions if you wish.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

"Well then lads, here he is then. Thank ye for your hospitality last night. Himner, you stop pickin at that wound now, or that infection o' yours 'll get worse. Now then, if I'm gone all day, make sure n give Errol a carrot or two. The mule tends to get a bit ornery if you don't give him one or two of the orange things. See you biys later I guess. Maroadin guide your steps and guard those you love"

With that, I stride forward, finally starting to feel comfortable in this much colder environment. Seeing the beings of law and good have brought an inner peace to my soul that I havn't felt for some time. As I get closer and see the sheer volume of hair growing from this dwarf, I wonder at how he can stand it. Having lived in this swamp for a few weeks now, I'm already being driven to distraction trying to keep my beard neatly plaited and ym hair tidy. That and all the mud dirtying upi my dwarven armour is a little irksome.

"I wonder if these women are able to give me a trim too?" I think to myself with somewhat of a sigh.

I'll walk to where the women are setting up the chair, and wait a respectful distance from here until he aknowledges me. I ensure that my trappings of faith are clearly visible to all around me.

Well Mr Bones comment about balinor now makes sence. Maybe seeing those beings has caused my eyes to come into more focus because I can see the hair growing but it seems to be really there not hazey like I would have expected. I also move over to the chair. As I do so I pull out the box and tuck it under my are.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

cool; Rama; going up or going to the chair or something else? It will take another probably four hours before the baggage train of gifts arrive.

Rama heads up.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

No guards or anyone goes with you as you ascend Rama.

Rama walk with as much regal grace he could muster. He looks for Baelinor, servant of Seker, all the while thinking of a proper greeting to the dwarf whom the great pharaoh wants to speak to.

Val, it's almost midnight here. I'll follow up in 8 hours.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

ok; balance roll to ascend the ice stair that is lightly covered with new snow; interestingly; the mound of hair coming down is doing so quite rapidly and seemingly surefooted.

Balance dc for slippery surface: 16

moveing carefuly and taking your time or using tools to aid you can give a bonus; or you can just decide it is to slippery in your armor and wait; up to you; might win you kudo points to accend gracefully if you can :)

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

hmm Rama; looking at your character; your background doesnt show when I click the button; doesnt look like you have any balance skill; so once you get up to the stair it looks pretty treacherous; great defense you think; not many armies could quickly scale this fortification and most wouldnt try; a fall from up there would be death to most. Falling off the top would be a 400 ft ice slide right to the ground.

Standing on the first stair would be easy; you can take a 20 for an auto success on the first stair; and still achieve what you desire being first and above the other and engage Baelinor first; he is moving quite fast and will be to you very shortly.

still; this is just an option; what do you do?

Am guessing since it is midnight there you wont post for a while;

other players at the impromptue barber shop; your being eyed and flirted with my the Viking maidens; you see several guys standing around drinking; some viking women come by with some cooked animal flesh dipped in some sauce; and some biscuits and some fruit as well as beer and some fermented, spiced milk. they give you as much as you want; move to the guards at the stair; offer to any; then keep moving to the next guard roving or stationary.

Everyone gets and offer to get their hair cut :) and the maidens are fairly flirty with everyone.

Rama is very careful where he steps (aka I am taking twenty on this one). He thinks falling off the pyramid would be one way of turning off Baelinor, besides not being very conducive to his health.

Almost midnight; will go to bed in a few minutes.

I take some of the offered fruit and a small portion of the spiced milk. I also decline a hair cut. trying to be as diplomatic as possable. diplomicy 8+14=22 So why are you here to talk to Balinor. Is it a thing with faith or are you on some other type of mission Sir cleric?

? Presumed Mongrelman Herald

As Baelinor approaches and gets within about 25 ft; a ball of cloth about 2ft in diameter detaches from inside his sheild and rolls down a few steps then straightens out into an odd looking individual all cloaked in various peices of cloth and fur; it gestures dramatically with one crablike claw and one with an oversized clawed hand; the spindly creatures is about 5ft tall; and stands up straight on one misshapen foot and one tenticle; all but two shiney eyes are hidden of the rest of the creature; it speaks loudly:

BEHOLD AND TREMBLE BEFORE THE COMING OF BAELINOR STORMWALL,
HIGH PRIEST OF DONBLAS
HEARTHKINDLER AND MARGRAVE OF THE SOUTHERN HOLDS
FATHER OF THE LOST TRIBES
BEARER OF THE TITANS BAND; THE ICE GAUNTLET OF EQUINOX; THE STONE OF DESTINY; AND THE msbuskmufflemufflesmirk. (you cant make out this part)

he turns his back to you and says:
"and upon the first step, a supplicant seeks audience, here we have Rama of Hamunaptra; Paladin of Osiris, Blessed of Isis, Revenger of Horus.

the guy makes a stupendous springing leap right at Baelinor, who doesnt bat an eye; rolls into a ball and once again hides behind Baelinors sheild.

Male Dwarf Cleric 6 (Earth and Protection Domain)

I'll decline the mead (too early for that, even for a dwarf). I'll gladly accept some of the food since it's being offered freely and thank the girls. I'll not return the flirting (never heard of a half dwarf so I guess we don't go too much for the interaricial thing he )but will accept everything good naturedly and with a smile. I'll even offer a small prayer over the food if the ladies want it.

An offer of a haircut is almost too good to be true. I'm tempted to take them up on the offer but I'm not sure of the protocol here. My hair i particular needs a good trim and tidy, though my beard only needs to be replaited and bound with the holding beads.

If it won't be considered offensive to Baelinor I'll definitely get one, and happily pay. Otherwise I'll wait for another opportunity to arrise.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

They bring another chair; and start to work on you; brush and braid your beard; trim your head hair to fighting length and braid the back; oil your beard and hair with scented bear grease; they also give you a bear cloak to keep you warm saying they figure you will go into the ice fortress and might catch a chill.

After the sudden appearance and disappearance of the announcer, Baelinor comes further down the steps such that he stands only slightly on a higher level than you, perhaps 10 to 15 feet away. You notice he walks in complete confidence a normal stride with no care given to the ice at his feet. At this distance you feel the air about you chill even further and another more familiar feeling. One that you get when setting foot on holy ground, specially consecrated to the Egyptian Pantheon. A difference is noticeable, though not uncomfortable.

He sets aside his shield, a circular one in the style of the Northmen you have seen around here, except it size is somewhere around 5-6 feet in diameter, larger than Baelinor, though it does not appear to cause him any discomfort. A quick glance at the back, as he lays it to its side shows no room for where a person could hide…

With the shield out of the way, you can now make out the rest of his features. His beard is tremendously long, near his face it is done in Egyptian style, yet somewhat shaggy. Brown in color it wraps down to his waist where he has attached it to metal bands that hold it against his armor. There are several wrappings around him till finally it flows out behind him in a long trail, quite possibly mixed in with the hair from his head.

His armor is obviously of dwarven make, covered in dwarven runes and of a metal other than steel and inlaid with metals and gems as one would expect from someone of great stature amongst the dwarven people. It covers his entire body with risers on either side of the head (dwarvish Mountain Plate from races of stone) save for the left arm. On that yet a different metal resides. Bluish colored metal rises from the gauntlet all the way to the shoulder. You note that as seamless as the armor seems to be, this gauntlet’s design proves even more formidable. It too shows symbols of power though different from the dwarvish runes on the armor that seem to cause the very air around it to mist (an affect similar to dry ice). You notice as well two red scarves, one that is tied around the joint of the gauntlet at the shoulder and one that is around where his helmet attaches to the body.

Across his waist lies a solid band of metal held together by a large metal buckle, the metal seems to be of yet another origin. It was obviously sized for someone quite a bit larger than a dwarf, yet appears to fit snugly to the armor. Again carved upon it are mysterious runes and patterns.

A gold colored chain that hangs around his neck is attached to a single arrow that always seems to point upward, also colored in gold. This it would seem is a holy symbol. Attached as well to the chain is what appears to be a gold nugget, securely fastened in place by a metal holder of silverish color.

In his right hand is a flanged mace of substantial size (warmace from complete warrior). It would appear unwieldy for anyone to use but two-handed, yet clearly Baelinor has no difficulty with just one. There is a golden sheen to the symbols of power that seem more divine in nature than those on the other items and you see it bears the same single arrow pointing upward in gold. These stand out from the curious whitish metal it is apparently constructed of as if having their own light, or perhaps that is mearly the suns reflection. To be struck by such an object would prove quite painful to the recipient, armor or no.

A final object that seems somewhat out of place is a dark black metal chain that is tied around his left ankle.

Baelinor moves the mace across his shoulder to a position that implies no aggressive intent and lifts his face mask with his left hand. His face appears to have the normal characteristic of dwarves, though perhaps younger than you would expect. He has blue eyes that seem filled with endless energy of a young child and yet a hidden knowledge of one who has seen much. You can see some attempt, not terribly successful, was made to keep his bushy eyebrows under control…as you watch you would swear the hair there is growing at a visible rate…

He studies you for a moment and glances off in the direction of the rest of the group, an eyebrow raises then he turns back to you and smiles a pleasant and welcoming one.

In perfect Egyptian with a deep dwarven voice;

“Well met, Rama of Hamunaptra, Paladin of Osiris, Blessed of Isis and Revenger of Horus. Tell me, what brings one of such a noble calling and in such prestigious company to the Temple of Donblas, the Justice Maker?”

"Greetings to you as well, Lord Baelinor. I come to deliver gifts from my liege and lord, the representative of Osiris on this earth, the Pharaoh. And to ask a boon, if you find our humble offerings satisfactory."

Earth and Stone ladies, that feels amazing. I feel civilized again. Ahh, ifn you'd been dwarven lasses I'd be takin' a right shine to you all that's fer sure"

I'll stand and drape the cloak over my shoulders, adjusting my shield and pendant so they now show my holy symbols, since my travelling cloak is covered by the bear fur.

"I think I like this place. A touch o' paradise in an otherwise hot and humid place. Just as a dwarf likes it" I grin broadly and say out loud to those around me.

"Now then. let's hear what this mighty priest has to say"
I wait patiently for the dwarf to acknowledge me.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

At this point you see that the priestess of Isis and the guards that came with her and Rama hanging back from most of the group about 30ft; the priestess and the female guard are near the hair cutting chairs and are seemingly not paying much attention to anything other than flirting; the priestess is flirting - not the guard. Her flirting is not serious and about three viking males are attending her with jokes and suggestions; she gives right back at them; each more outlandish than the next. She seems quite bold for a lady to those who do not know the Egyptian culture and religion.

Erkholt:
After your haircut, but while your still sitting (if she is not quick enough before you stand she will move close enough that your bellies ((approximately)) touch standing), one of the viking maidens; a good looking, lithe one about 5'8" and hair the color of golden honey; boldy and quickly stradles your lap and brushes her accoutrements up against you; plants a kiss on your nose. She says " I have noted that you are not married, the stamina of your people is legendary, what say you and I go to this place I know not to far away and establish good relations between your people and mine? Do not worry about this Baelinor; he is long winded enought to blow a ship from here to my homeland; he will be here when we get back. Maybe is you whisper nice in my ear I will tell you about him; hmm, maybe between kisses I explain Hearthkindler and Father of the Lost Tribes, maybe if you dont kiss well enough; I not tell you...

she slides off your lap and walks, you know that walk; sultry and alluring, trailing a hand behind her... The other maidens and the older women look on gaugeing; the men look amused; though one or two look a bit angry.

It is obvious this is a test of some sort; something with a very strong undercurrent is going on here. A sense motive or any knowledge culture or diplomacy would be usefull here. Also, an arcane knowledge roll could be helpful.

Not really interested in international incident. I also don't take kindly to the way this lass talked about Baelinor, given how powerful a dwarven cleric he is. My inclination is to rebuke this girl but how strongly I do that will be up to the info my rolls provide. Cheers.

It's worth noting Vale, that you've got me all tense and nervous and I haven'y even fought anything yet. Great work on building up the tension. Rama wrote:

"Greetings to you as well, Lord Baelinor. I come to deliver gifts from my liege and lord, the representative of Osiris on this earth, the Pharaoh. And to ask a boon, if you find our humble offerings satisfactory."

Diplomacy (1d20+14=32)

"Blessings be to the Pharaoh and his representative". Baelinor makes a gesture with his unarmed hand and a golden mist fills the area. Consider yourself blessed for the next several minutes...unless of course you decide to resist.

Assuming there is no issue with the blessing.

"The Temple welcomes the gifts of the Pharaoh and I will humbly listen to his request."

Baelnor glances toward the impromptu barbershop.

"Now that the formal greetings are over"; he pauses for a moment to ensure your agreement then continues. "I have been several days in seclusion praying and preparing for the future and I am afraid such a time away results in a rather lengthy hair growth." He smiles at his understatement. "And these good people have been kind enough to take care of my rather unusual predicament. So if you do not mind let us move to the area prepared and I will be happy to receive the Pharaoh's gifts there and discuss His request, though if you feel the need for privacy we can discuss that afterwards, I am also eager to hear how fairs the Egyptian lands, for it has been a while since I have been back."

He will move off toward the crowd unless he is stopped, he slows his pace to ensure you have no difficulty in your walk across the icy area, but it is obvious it has no affect on him. He will chat with you if you have nothing particular you want to discuss, mostly asking questions about various areas in Egypt and will express an interest in your trials of Paladin-hood. When the priestess's group is in a relatively close position on his route of travel, he will pause and acknowledge her in Egyptian style greeting though he does not approach nor speak, then continues on.

You get the feeling this is a test of some kind; a test of your courage and a test of your ability to solve riddles; you get the idea they think this is a game, but with possibly deadly consequences. Looking at the amused and enrages and gauging looks around you; your answer will be important on many levels, but mostly this is a test of your character and worthyness; how will you respond? You have learned over the last many hours spent among these people that they value strength, courage and boldness above most other things.

It's worth noting Vale, that you've got me all tense and nervous and I haven'y even fought anything yet. Great work on building up the tension. Having watched the first bait trap, I have no idea which things are being done as tests and which ones are just the Vikings being hospitable. I'm going to have to do something like this to my players sometime. Hehehe

The priestess of Isis nods to you with a twinkle in her eyes and a shush upon her lips, Baelinor; the guards bow low to you in honor of your stature; the Vikings look you right in the eyes with a bit of challenge, which is their way, many nod and make blade statements of alliance; meaning bang axe or sword on leg and nod; cheer; whatever is thier want; you are offered food and drink;

As the ladies trim you hair; the group sees what amazing armor your wearing and the off the chart value of both your warmace and armor; both being extremely magical and nearly unique in craftsmanship and artisan workmanship; the belt and the gauntlet defy value to those who know such things; most kingdoms would sell for less than their individual value; them being items of relic/artifact level and items of prophesy. - though the pc's do not know this prophesy at this time; these two items whisper subtly of power and influence on worldly events.

any chaotic person with their head down or looking at Baelinors feet will feel lost and be missing a few moments; though anyone lawful will have clarity of thought and focus; -1 and +1 to skills per say; up to you individually if this happens.

To all: this setting looks to be fairly informal; anyone can speak to anyone at will.

Baelinor; with you spot; you see something of interest about the dwarves armor; hehe this could get him out of his pickle if you like.

Cleric of Moradin: you notice something strange and interesting about Baelinor's armor; perhaps if you looked closer....

looking down at Bailnor's feet to see how he was able to make such time down the slick slops of the pyramid Humm Sir Bailnor you are very sure footed down yon slope with out any spiked soles. In any case my name is ThoronHen I an here at Mr Bones request to deliver this lifting the box silighly and to wate for an answer if nessicarly. This information has come acrose the ocean from the Holy Citys and I was charged to protect it with my life so it must be very important indead.

I contemplate the visions I've been having while looking out over the horizon. Things have been changing in the air, the earth, in life... and not for the better.

I am thankful though for finding a companion in Gaius Nepos, and hope he heals quickly. The trek before us is going to be difficult and dangerous.

With Eruanna by my side it should be easier, she has always brought me closer to the earth mother... but it is for the earth mother that I need guidance from the Oracle on my increasingly intense visions.

From a distance, everything appears as it should, but upon closer inspection, very little is anymore... we need to take action and bring balance back to the earth mother.

I look over to my companions; "This journey will be challenging, are you ready my friend, Gaius?"

Caran and Gaius are in a Forest looking south; to the south are hills, ruts a plains with large boulders and rough terrain with scrub pine and other bushes; this type terrain, good for growing grapes and olive trees, extends all the way to the ocean; which is out of sight or smell at this distance. This rough terrain is known to have all types of creatures good and ill; but worse; roving packs of ghouls seeking easy flesh are known to track the unwary.

I'll grab the lass boldly around the waist and hoist her from her straddling position and place her on her feet next to me.

"Lass, if ye had more in the line of dwarfishness about ye, I may have been taken by yer offer. However, I'm here to see the Honorable Baelinor, nae matter how long winded ye feel he is. It's been many a long year since I took a tumble with a fair dwarven maiden, and I've the patience to wait a few more till one who catches me eye comes along again." I'll look around the group, boldly staring into their eyes.

"Enough of these games now ye lot. I'm here on business. Business with the great one over yonder and I aint got the time nor inclination to play any more of ye games. Any that wants to challenge my right to be hear needs to step forward and do so. Otherwise allow me and Lord Baellinor have our time. Durmethoin and Moradin themselves set me upon this path, and I've a feeeling they'll not take too kindly to those who would interfere."

With those words I slap the brazen lass on the butt and send her on her way "Now be off with ye lass, let me be on me business and go find someone else to pass the time with" I let amusement show in my voice but those around me can still see a hard edge to my eyes. My patience for these intrigues has been tested.

hehehe it's so easy to feel brave on the other end of a keyboard. Here's hoping I won't start a brawl.

Gaius looks up at Caran with a warm smile and says. "Ready and able."

As he gives his gear for the road on last check before departing Gaius thinks to himself. How have things come to this point my father likely dead the company all but destroyed and me now on this journy to find some oracle with and druid elf of all things. With a sigh he straps on his gear and begins down the road following Caran. Time passes with little said between the two. Both deep in though Gaius remembering what little he can of the last battle he was in with his father and Caran focused on the direction her vision is leading her. Finaly a few hours after there departure Gaius says to Caran. "So where is this oracle and how long will it take us to reach him."

I do not know the time it will take to get there - Val?

You see winners and loosers as money and items change hands; much hooting and hollering as you would expect with gambling peoples; you see a lot of smirks as well. The girl storms off, but you think it is probably a show to save a bit of her pride.

Gauis and Caran travel:

Your travel is about 70 miles through broken terrain; even moving cautiously; you could make it in three days.

Takeing the road will enhance your movement; but they are sure to be watched by bandits, ghouls, and other predators. Going across the wild terrain will be slower movement, but you will probably not walk into any ready ambushes; but there is the risk of something picking up your trail and wandering into or near some creatures lair; you individual skills should help though.

How do you intend to travel; slow; fast; by road, by wilderness. If you do not have enough supplies for the trip; time will need to be spent gathering food and drink stuffs.

Please give me a estimation of your travel; marching order and daily activities and schedule.
thanks

thats what i am wating for as i had introdused my self to him and asked him a question. well implided a question ;-)

Male Dwarf Cleric 6 (Earth and Protection Domain)

I will introduce myself to Baelinor the moment it becomes suitable for me to do so. Snce he's already conversing with Rama, I guess I'll wait till he gets to me and acknowledgs me or gives me an opportunity to introduce myself. At this point I shall tell him of the plight of my clanhold and of my journey here to find guidance from Moradin. I show him the figure of the man I had to find at this pyramid and speak to him of Moradin's instructions to me. Hopefully he'll be able to show me more of what I can do in this region

Quite a number of posts to reply to; I'm leaving the office; Will post back in a few hours.

the sun breaks through the clouds and it stops snowing in the pyramid area; it is quite cold for those of you lightly dressed for the jungle

"Lord Baelinor, I accept your blessing in the same spirit that it is given."

Rama accompanies Baelinor to the barber.

"What would you know of my homeland, lord?"
