Ali propped himself up against the wall for a moment, sighing softly, feeling the healing air wash over him as Cleo tends to their wounds. He grins, before crouching over the Half Elf and beginning to rummage through his pockets, searching for any letters, papers or diaries he might have sequestered about him. As an after thought, he grabs the ring from his finger and bounced it up and down on his palm, before beginning to draw forth runes of identification, seeking and recognition, and focusing them before him. The runes begin to swim back and forth across the whites of his eyes, causing them to burn brightly, as he focused on the ring in his hand.

So perception checks will only give vague ideas?
| Cleo Gingerberry |
Cleo fusses over everyone, feeding cure moderate wounds potions to those still out. if you are out roll the healing please, we have three potions from the priest
Maria, any sign of Ameiko?
Maria the Great

Maria looks at Cleo handing out potions, and hands her the healing ones, Not yet, but I'll look. These heals though I don't know to what extent. I'll head on see if I can find her.
Maria moves away from the others as Cleo handles getting everybody back to a semblance of fighting shape.
She heads down? the stairs and peeks through the keyhole of the first door if there is one, otherwise she carefully opens it up ready to slam it if anything comes flying towards her.
| DM TreasureFox |
I'm very torn on the subject. Perception is already the most used skill in the game, and I don't understand why it should be used to identify magical properties, even by taste. I'd much prefer to allocate the identification to skills like K.arcana, spellcraft, and craft alchemy. Especially the last two.
EDIT: Ali can see inscribed on the ring runes of protection. It is a ring of protection (+1).
Maria the Great
|
Fair enough, but fair warning, I will probably forget this many times. As I often have to look up rules, I will likely try this again upon forgetting.
| Alandrian Verium |
Thanks Fox.
Ali slid the ring in to his pouch to keep it safe for the group for later, before heading downstairs after Maria, cranking his Crossbow as he went. Azeri stays put with Cleo and the others to offer protection.
Vandra Geaux

Vandra watched with grim satisfaction as the bear-like man finished off the goblins. As the wave of healing energy washed over him and his comrades, he jerked his head around as if waking from a fit and rushed over to his mother-in-wallaby. "Ah crap, are you alright?" he asked worriedly. Checking her over, he didn't see any obvious sounds and gave her a tight hug. "I didn't mean to leave you like that, I just got so angry with those goblins!" Shaking his head, he looked over at the others and asked, "Is everybody alright? I got a spare healing potion if somebody needs it."
Maria the Great

Seeing no threat she opens the door and looks inside to better inspect it and make sure there's nothing of consequence. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 If it's clear she moves on to the next door and repeats the process.
Can I recover the poison from the blades for later? Also, did they carry formula books with them, considering using this as a chance to retrain into investigator or multiclass with alchemist.
| DM TreasureFox |
Anyone who wants to use a potion, now is a good time. We have 3 CMW available, and a tub worth of CLW. I think Maria has the list?
Maria sees nothing of interest in this room. Just storage of finished products. Nothing in here is particularly easy to sell either, and most of them are commissioned for various businesses and such around Varisia , Cheliax, and even Absalom.
Maria moves over to the next door. Peeking through the keyhole, she spots crates and barrels among hay. Maria hears the shuffling of hay, and strange sounds. Perhaps a muffled voice? The door is locked.
Maria the Great
|
I has left the potions to the casters. That's outside Maria's balliwack. Also, about formula books and recovering the poison?Maria thinks for a second before unlocking the door. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
| DM TreasureFox |
Okay then. Right, two formula books exist. The poisoned dogsclicers are going to be a problem. I think ultimately you have 2 choices: Either keep the daggers and use them in combat for the unknown poison, or bring them to someone who is knowledgeable in alchemy to remove the poison and put it in a vial for you.
Maria successfully unlocks the door with a click. Inside lays a very beat up Ameiko bound and gagged in the hay. Tears flow from her eyes as she sees your face.
Maria the Great
|
Maria's face lights up. She's here and okay! Maria rushes over and slices her free from her bonds carefully, (trying to keep as long a length of rope as possible) Are you hurt? We have potions if you need them.
Vandra Geaux
|
"Glad to see you up,"Vandra said as he helped Furnok up off the floor. "I didn't want to see someone else burn like that." He shuddered for a second as memories briefly assaulted his mind before he shoved them back. "Anyway, we should go check on the others, hopefully there aren't any other goblin's or something here."
| Helgarr |
Everyone heals 10 hp thanks to Cleo's channeling. Both the Goblins and the Half Elf are dead.
** spoiler omitted **
Helgarr stands up spitting blood, her skin reddened and burnt - "Damn them" - she growls looking around, her ferocity apparently unabashed - "How is everyone?"
I'm very torn on the subject. Perception is already the most used skill in the game, and I don't understand why it should be used to identify magical properties, even by taste. I'd much prefer to allocate the identification to skills like K.arcana, spellcraft, and craft alchemy. Especially the last two.
Sorry TreasureFox, but I'm confused - is there a rule that allows Perception to identify magical potions? :P
Thanks Fox.
Ali slid the ring in to his pouch to keep it safe for the group for later, before heading downstairs after Maria, cranking his Crossbow as he went. Azeri stays put with Cleo and the others to offer protection.
Ali, don't be offended but... Since we're still going back and forth inside the Glassworks, why not give the ring to me or Furnok for the time being?
Anyone who wants to use a potion, now is a good time. We have 3 CMW available, and a tub worth of CLW. I think Maria has the list?
Helgarr chugs down a CMW potion also.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4) + 3 = 13
Phew. Of course. How about Helgarr?
"Battered and bruised brother - but I am alive" - she nods in respect at the warrior - "You have fought fiercely"
-------
As they come across Ameiko, Helgarr stands back with her arms crossed over her chest, but smiling when she realizes the woman is alive - "It is good to see you"
| Cleo Gingerberry |
Cleo quickly checks over Ameiko when the others bring her out. we need to get you back to the inn. Can you carry her Furnok? I'll go get the Father to help her. Someone needs to get the sheriff to see if any others are down here. And... poop she stops in mid flustered babbling to sprint as fast as her little legs can take her, upstairs to where she had been trying to knock out their "guest" and finds....
what does she find?
| Alandrian Verium |
Ali flicks the ring up to Helgar and shrugs. "Protection. Should help you next time we get in to a scrap. Good to see you alive Hel!"
As Ali follows Maria downstairs his face settles in to a grim, hard expression. With the carnage above, he does not rate the chances of finding Amieko alive too highly. 'If she is dead I swear by all the gods I will scorch this planet of all Goblinkind!'
'Stop projecting so hard kid. That f~+@ing hurts!'
"What...?"
'Just... stop!'
When Maria opened the door in to the cell, and found Amieko alive, Ali stood there, staring down at the woman, a slow pressure building in his chest. His mind filled with all of the possibilities of what could have befallen her and slowly began to over come him. He collapsed to his knees beside her, gasping for breath and laughing softly to himself.
"Ami... Thank the Gods. I... I didn't know. I almost... Praise Shelyn you are alive!" He wrapped his arms around her slowly, making sure not to hurt her, before resting his forehead against hers. "Don't scare me like that again huh?" A single tear slid down his cheek and he turned away quickly to hide it.
As Cleo dashes off, Azeri steps in to the room, laying a hand on Furnoks shoulder and shaking his head softly, before crouching and picking Ameiko up easily. "You gave us both a scare there Miss Ameiko!"
I only didn't give it to either of you first because neither of you spoke up for it or were conscious at the time. After this we really have to divide up loot fully. Haha We have a LOT of it now! :)
Vandra Geaux
|
*Psst* Furnok, I think Azeri beat you in picking her up
Vandra and Jeaux smiled as the Tian woman was safely recovered. All their hardship from the battles earlier had been worth it, even if they still didn't know exactly what had happened. "I'm happy we were able to get to you in time, Miss," Vandra said to Ameiko.
Maria the Great

Maria watches the others move off but doesn't go with them. She instead continues down the hall carefully intent on making sure there's no one else there. Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
| DM TreasureFox |
Now that Ameiko's bonds have been cut and she's been given some support, Ameiko cries in sheer relief. She hugs Ali tightly and says between sobs "Praise Shelyn, praise anyone really. Thank you so, so much. He's gone mad, absolutely mad. My own brother wants to burn Sandpoint to the ground."
| DM TreasureFox |
In the first area that Maria checks, she finds the room a complete disaster. What was originally a dusty office is filled with empty and broken bottles, the smell of alcohol assaults your senses. There are several stacks of papers, along with a bag of gold dust, and a bag of silver dust.
The second room has little of interest itself, but inside lays a tunnel spanning further than Maria can see.
| DM TreasureFox |
Our favorite halfling runs back up the stairs to find that her captive is about half ways through her bonds. The goblin seems to have been chewing through the rope at an astounding pace. When she sees you, she simply tilts her head to the side and grins devilishly.
| Helgarr |
Helgarr dashes after Cleo.
If she notices the goblin trying to make an escape, she will punch him. Hard :D
Vandra Geaux
|
Vandra waited until Ameiko was comfortably laying in Azeri's arms before walking towards her with a vial in hand. "Here, drink this. It should help with your sounds," he said with a small smile.
Giving her my CLW potion. Figured she needed it.
| Helgarr |
Vandra waited until Ameiko was comfortably laying in Azeri's arms before walking towards her with a vial in hand. "Here, drink this. It should help with your sounds," he said with a small smile.
The sounds of silence? :D
| DM TreasureFox |
After Ameiko drinks the potion, she feels much better. "Ah thanks. That's much better. I can walk now alright, we need to tell the sheriff what's happened, and my father as well."
As Helgarr reaches Cleo and the goblin, she can see that the goblin is still tied up (mostly, the bonds aren't cut, just well chewed.) She knows she's been caught, so she just sits there and smiles at Helgarr. If she wasn't a goblin, it might have been cute.
| Helgarr |
Helgarr triple checks the ropes with a snarl - "This is your last warning" - and brings the goblin along with her and Cleo - "Shall we rejoin the others?"
Maria the Great
|
Maria scoops up the bags with the intention to give them to Ameiko later. When she sees the tunnel she moves back to the others. Uh, there's something you guys should see.
Maria the Great
|
Maybe, there's some kind of tunnel down here.
| Cleo Gingerberry |
Yes, please she tells Helgarr, slightly envious of her height and muscle mass at the moment. Oh the plight of the small races. She follows back downstairs.
| Helgarr |
Yes, please she tells Helgarr, slightly envious of her height and muscle mass at the moment. Oh the plight of the small races. She follows back downstairs.
"Thank you for saving my life Cleo" - the barbarian speaks the simple words calmly, as they move to rejoin the others.
--
Maybe, there's some kind of tunnel down here.
"Could that be how they gained entrance to the Glassworks?" - Helgarr ponders - "Maria, we must confirm"
| Cleo Gingerberry |
After hearing Maria, Cleo asks Ameiko if she knows where the tunnel leads?
Maria the Great
|
Maria ponders for a minute. No,I don't think so. I think they were digging it out when I went down. Maria takes her cloak and covers the glass encased form of Ameikos father while she's distracted by Cleo.
| Cleo Gingerberry |
Cleo silently thanks Maria with all her heart. Ameiko doesn't need to know that yet.
Vandra Geaux
|
Now have my laptop back! Hopefully I won't have any more problems with it for a while.
Vandra nodded, though he was worried about what the tunnel might mean. "The tunnel worries me, but we need to get Ameiko back and inform the sheriff and mayor about what happened here," Vandra said, looking at the others. "We still have the captive goblin, so hopefully we can get something useful from it."
| Helgarr |
"Then we need to set up some sort of watch close by, perhaps someone from the guard?" - Helgarr pipes in - "We cannot risk just leaving this wide open"
